    Pot roast
    Dustin W.

Stopped in on a business trip. Was at the attached Hilton hotel. Quality of food was just horrible. Ordered the pot roast. Thats not real meat, texture is all wrong, in looks like plastic. Did not even pull apart like pot roast or with the grain. 100% fake so I decided to order a caeser salad since I could not eat the pot roast. Lettuce was old, wilted, lots of brown spots. Needless to say I could not even pick thru to find more than 2 or 3 ok bites.

Fish & chips--huge portion, fair price. Bartenders are always fun. Beers are ice cold. Bar service is fast and attentive.

The taste of the fish was okay, but I really wish that it were bigger. Maybe this is because of shrink-inflation, but it shouldn't be this small. The mashed potatoes were a little dry, but they had flavor, and the asparagus was good. Overall, it was a decent meal.

I was craving a French baked onion soup so I called about 10 restaurants in town until this place said that they have it on the menu but they don't open until 4pm, dam it's only noon now. The place looks like a chain restaurant that's that's a little up scale with nice wood and brick interior. They have a nice big bar and tables and booths to sit at. The place is in the casino area but not in the casino itself but next door to it. I was seated and given a menu right away and I ordered just the baked French onion soup and my server was like that's all, no drink or anything else and I said yes I'm having a craving just for soup. My French baked onion soup came fast and it looked good with cheese melted down the cup. The soup was filled with a nice amount of melted cheese but it was average. The broth didn't have a great depth of flavor I thought from my first spoonful. I was all I could find and it did fill my crave but it's not the best example of baked French onion soup that I have had.

    Sliders, French onion soup

Visited about a week ago and The food was amazing, everything was juicy and flavorful, we ate so much our stomachs hurt till the next day. We got the mini sliders appetizers and they were so juicy would eat them 100 times again. For my meal I got the French onion soup and house salad they were both very good. My finance got the French dip and pot roast they were also really good. The only thing bad was our service was a little bad, our waiter didn't pay much attention to us and we waited 15 minutes for the bill. The overall experience was nice and the lighten was very romantic and dim 9/10!

This location was connected to my hotel and was by far the best Houlihan's experience yet. Food was extremely fresh and the service was very good especially as busy as they were. The chicken strips were juicy, fries well seasoned and cooked just right. The fish was a huge chunk of cod and the homemade tartar sauce I would consider using as a condiment for a variety of things. I will definitely be back if I don't lose all my money next door at the Q.

    Delicious!

Service was excellent (sat at bar). The kitchen met my request to add a side of scallops. However, the mashed potatoes were pretty salty and sour tasting and the steak just didn't taste like quality meat (texture). I cant blame the kitchen for the steak. Its more of a corporate issue since corp probably orders the food and picks the vendors. The French onion soup was awesome. Loved the apple pie with ice cream!

    Happy 30th wedding anniversary !

Is the restaurant closed permanently? I have checked in for the last week to see about dining there, and it has been closed every day. When I called them, there was no answer, no answering machine message.

We were just there 3 weeks ago and it was open... call the Hilton Garden Hotel that it is attached to and check...

It's also located inside of an old bank, so we wanted to check this one out. We were seated immediately and received great service. The waitress was new, but already familiar with the menu. She made recommendations and was very attentive. We started with the pretzel and I can't wait for you to see the photo of how huge this thing is! We all three ate some of it, and there was enough for two people left once we were all done. It's massive! For the entree, I had the chicken quesadillas, my husband had the salmon bowl, and my son had the French dip. The food was all very good and if he chooses Dubuque for college, we will definitely be back!

It's right in the downtown area, so it's perfect for dinner before a show or casino visit. They have a nice selection of sandwiches, pastas, and entrees. I got the California Burger with grilled chicken and truffle fries. All very tasty. We also shared some cheese curds which were amazing! We devoured those. They come with ranch of course and a Melba sauce which was unique. It gave a good sweet and salty mix with the curds. The service was also quick and friendly. Definitely check out if you are in the area

Btw... reservations are only made by phone as they are not on Open Table, Table or Yelp for reservations. The bonus is that you can request a booth (as we did) when you call. It was perfectly lit inside so that while still romantic, you can see the menu! We didn't have to bring out the phone for this. There was a special small menu as well, that had a special Valentine's Day menu. What I didn't realize, until half way through the meal, was that the cocktail menu was on the back side. We did have to request the wine menu, which came in an old, tattered notebook. An investment in a nice professional wine folder would be a nice touch for this more upscale establishment. We had a fabulous dinner for Valentine's Day! We did order a bottle of the house Pinot Noir, a wonderful sweeter wine from Napa Valley. We started out with the chef's salad, which was a mix of greens, feta cheese crumbles and a deliciously sweet and tart balsamic vinaigrette! Both my husband and I had the beef tenderloin, which came with scrumptious mashed potatoes and perfectly steamed carrots and broccoli. For dessert, we had the wonderfully tasty Betty Jane's Gremlin Cheesecake, which did not disappoint! It was so creamy, not too rich, with just the right amount of sweetness! Priced at $10, we felt it was a little steep for the very slim slice that was served as most couples share a dessert! Honestly, it was so good, I just wanted more of it! The service was outstanding with the perfect amount of attention. Bus service didn't really happen but the server, Gabe, was on top of it, clearing plates when needed. All in all, we had a lovely night celebrating Valentine's Day, a day early to avoid the crowds!
