‼If you're ever in Dubuque, IA, save your time and money and speed past Lina's Thai Bistro. Almost an hour wait for carry-out. Fried calamari was soggy, oily, and stunk like rotten fish. Sashimi was paper thin, warm, and the cuts were not uniform. Chicken padthai was pale and tasted like sugar with a splash of soy sauce; it was inedible. I tasted a sliver of it and had spit it out; it was so disgusting. The owner's brother, Fong, gave me a refund after some time but there was no apology and he took off immediately afterwards.

Yummy food! So far, my favorite place to eat Thai food. The lunch prices are such a great deal! It comes with soup and rice. There are substitutions for rice for extra charge. Food: my friend and I got...vegetable roll and vegetable samosas, Pad see ew w/pork, drunken noodle, and Thai iced tea. Service: Great service, super nice staffs. We will totally come back to try more of the menu!

Really enjoyed our visit here, a terrific Thai cuisine with excellent customer service, and fairly priced. One of the better Dubuque County food options! I love Thai food, I Yelped and asked around, plus asked a couple of foodie friends who strongly recommended Lina's. They nailed it. An amazing menu, and nearly too many options for me on a hangry night! Ended up with their pad see ew, and it was fantastic! Everything about the meal was spot on. Great server. Parking right outside the door.

Hello Once again in Dubuque and another Thai/Asian restaurant I really approve. It was not busy while i was there so I had zero issues with service. In fact my server Brianna on my receipt was very good. So thank you for great service. Well then there is the menu! I would say a book or a long novel!! I was in overload like a dog with it's nose out the car window!! You want variety this is the place. I hade the thai basil noodles with sea food. Yum. Great flavor with scallops, shrimp, calamari, mussels!! Go check the place out!! I will be back nd want to try more!

Hello. When I entered Lina's Thai bistro I was greeted by multiple staff members and was given a seat. The ambience of Lina's Thai bistro is unique, especially for Dubuque. A variety of furniture styles, as well as colorful lighting. Once my order arrived (took no more than 8 minutes) I was surprised to find that the only utensil given was a fork. Perhaps I needed to as ask for different utensils. That aside the Koi Soi Fortune Noodles was delicious, not too much sauce and all the ingredients were fresh. Thank you.

Let me start with READ YOUR CREDIT CARD SLIP before you sign it to avoid double tipping in error!…read more Made a reservation for Monday night at their first seating, 4:00 pm. They don't open the door until 4:00 so getting there early doesn't work. We ended up being the only 2 at the Hibachi table this night. I have to say it's bit awkward to have the chef all to yourselves. They have added some caveats to the Hibachi seating... only 5 split checks per group, at least half your party had to be having hibachi, and a mandatory 18% tip is added to every check, no matter the size of your party. Since we usually tip 20%, this actually works out to disservice for the staff. Then, when we got the credit card slip to sign, there was another place to add a tip and their suggested tipping percentages were on the total of food, 18% tip and tax. Now, to the food! I had chicken hibachi and my hubby had chicken and scallops. So delicious. It's always enough that we have another meal to bring home for the next day. My only real complaint is that they need to work out the tip suggestions on the credit slips since they already charged you a tip.

Hey, Japanese cuisine fans, we have a five star winner! Who would have thought? Amazing Japanese…read moreeats in Dubuque,Iowa. Based on one lunch visit, Ichiban is the most excellent sushi I have had since living in Alaska for 40 years. The food is what it's all about, but the atmosphere and service were everything I hope for in a high end West Coast Japanese restaurant. Maybe even better, considering these folks have a beautiful old fashioned Midwest Steakhouse style bar in addition to the Tokyo style sushi bar and a teppanyaki dinner room. Damn! This place has it all. My ala carte sushi was PERFECTLY proportioned and as fresh as it gets, short of picking your fish live from a tank. In my recent experience, American nigiri sushi is heading towards oversized chunks of crudely butchered fish on top of equally oversized and poorly seasoned rice balls. Today, I thought I was back in some alleyway Tokyo eatery. Damn near magic. Did I suggest magic??? These folks had FRESH UNI!!!!! In Iowa? Amazing. Perfect experience? No. The tempura appetizer was the low point of the meal, but it's relative. Still pretty good, all things considered, just not the magic light golden crispy tempura batter of my Asian dreams. Ichiban has a small element of Chinese fusion, but is pretty much true to its Japanese theme. The wa shoku will not disappoint. Gyoza are always my tell when trying a new Japanese restaurant. These were excellent little pork morsels in delicate tender skins, most excellently prepared, but may have been a commercial frozen product. The sauce was a Chinese style mustard, excellent, but not a classic Japanese presentation. Still, the plating was far better than most I've had lately, other than my own preparation, of course. I left Ichiban feeling better about the food, sake, and service than I have for ages. This place is a gem. I'm coming back soon to work my way through the menu, especially the nabe yaki udon bowl. As a purist, I totally overlook the 'rolls', but if that's your thing theirs were legion and from what I saw on other tables, quite generous portions. So, whatever you are looking for th the Japanese genre, you won't go wrong with Ichiban. Number one!

So my Chinese craving week continues before endless eating turkey feast begins! Hooray!!…read more I had a doctors appointment in Dubuque, Iowa. I had to stop at Hy-Vee on Locust for a last minute Thanksgiving list. And first things first, it was lunch time so we went to Chinese deli & had a variety of foods to chose from but we again chose Chinese, and our choices were black, pepper chicken, twice cooked pork & the sides came with plain lo mein, plain fried rice, crab Rangoon, and eggrolls. But then I went ahead and bought two BBQ pork steamed buns because they are the best. I usually make it myself but since they were there why not treat myself. And all that was scrumptious, and everything was only $23.53. You can't beat that. Hy-Vee had a special buy a ham @ $5.99 per lb and get a free turkey, so it was a good deal! I saw Starbucks at a glance & before exiting the store I had to try the venti peppermint mocha! It's okay & good but I will stick with my ultimate favorite which is venti ice vanilla latte with whip cream hot or cold!! So I suggested my BF and I divide and conquer, while he stood in line at the checkout and I stood in line for my drink this way we can be done and head home! However I was not happy about one thing, it wouldn't be a big deal but since we're out of town it kind of was! Time was limited and we were on a mission. The aluminum roasting pan was mishandled either by the cashier or the bagger but when we got home my BF noticed a nickel sized hole at the bottom of pan. He did mention something to me in the car that he didn't like how the pan was handled during check out but at the time I thought it's not a big deal. But now that we're home I know what he was referring to. I didn't get it before! And for an aluminum pan it wasn't cheap either!! If I was at checkout & not in line at Starbucks we wouldn't be home with a hole at the bottom of our aluminum pan is all I'm saying! This man needs to speak up and not after the fact!! Oh well, I head that way a lot so I will stop by for a refund as a Starbucks coffee or for a lottery ticket lol!!! Just a little side humor!! A slight hiccup but going forward never leave your man at checkout alone! Lo!! I was able to redeem my scratch ticket for $36 and bought more. Overall this was a really one stop shop for all... Recommended but be mindful if you're local or especially out of town, to double check your groceries or items for damaged or forgotten items before leaving the parking lot. 1st time review for this store as part of a Yelp elite squad! Thank you!!
