After receiving an e-mail practically every day from Panera marketing about their "free 3 months" of coffee subscription and living less than 5 minutes from a Panera, I thought sure, why not! I'll give the subscription a go. Today was my first experience getting my coffee perk and it was NOT good. I arrived at this location at 8:00am. A customer was already at the counter waiting to be helped. 5 minutes pass. A few workers have passed by in the prep area and we were not acknowledged. A third customer arrives and heads to the rapid pick up area and does not find what she is looking for. A few more minutes pass and finally a worker comes out and asks what the first customer needed. He was there for a rapid pick up and it was not in the rapid pick up area. The worker helps him and it takes a couple more minutes. Finally, after 10 minutes pass, I am asked what I needed. I tell her that I have the coffee subscription and would like to get my coffee. She asks for my Panera card (I don't have one as I signed up online). I tell her I don't have a card. She asks again. I said I don't have a card and that I signed up online. She asks for my phone number and hands me a hot coffee cup. I state that I wanted an iced coffee, so she hands me a plastic cup and says it's self serve and points to the pop/tea area. I walk over and fill my cup with some ice. The iced coffee was empty. I walked back to the counter and told the lady that the iced coffee was empty. She asked me again, it's empty? YES. She walks over to check like she doesn't believe me. She takes my cup and fills it up in the back all the way to the top. I head to the milk/sugar area and the milk was EMPTY. At this point, I've been here over 15 minutes and I'm frustrated. I leave. I'll use my own milk at home. You would think that a restaurant notorious for breakfast that they'd have it together at 8am with workers at the counter, coffee items filled, and apparently rapid pick up items ready when customers arrive. Totally not worth the hassle.

I ordered a family breakfast sandwich bag and I thought Hey I'll get 4 sandwiches for $18 instead of $7.50 for each sandwich. The sandwiches were almost all bread. I've never had a sausage egg and cheese with half an egg on it in my life.

This was The Fontega chicken sandwich. It should be called a bread sandwich.

Use caution! This location is always incredibly dirty; the tables are full of food and the floor looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a week. The takeout food was ready fast, however I supposed it doesn't take long to heat a piece of bread. The Fontega chicken sandwich had almost no cheese and even less meat. (which was way undercooked). . Looking at all the other reviews I'm not sure whey anyone would chose to eat here.

I went through the drive thur during the morning. Ordered a bagel, fontega chicken panini, and smoothie. I got through the ordering process fast as there was not a line. It took awhile for food to come up. Staff was friendly. When I got to my location to eat my sandwich for breakfast, I noticed that although the panini looked grill on the outside it was not heated on the inside. The cheese was not melted and the sandwich was cold. I had to heat it myself. The bagel was soft and tasty and the smoothie was good. I go to this location often. It was not busy so not sure why they didn't take to make my order correctly. I hope that they take time to make sure all orders are accurate and to customers liking.

    Baja Bowl

I ordered the pick two Baja bowl with the fuji apple salad and an apple. With a chai tea latte. I paid $21 for all of it which was to be expected with Panera. I eat at Panera all the time because it's one of the only places I can get something healthy on the go. But I have to say this Baja bowl was very disappointing. I got it without chicken and avocado. The photo is what it looked like when I opened it to get ready to eat it . I couldn't believe what I saw when I opened. I will NOT be ordering this again. If you want a bowl save your time and money and go some place like Currito to get more bang for your buck. I sure wish I would've. I ended up mixing my salad with it to make it more enjoyable.

I decided on a reuben sandwich with all of the fixens inside. I was surprised that I was the only one in there because of the amount of rave reviews. It was a small quaint little place. The employees were suppperrrr nice and gave me a lot of time to think about my order. The vibes in there were very cool with fun music and just overall a good time. Now onto the Reuben. Holy cow! It was juicy and very flavorful, with the perfect amount of sauerkraut. The bread was toasty and the sandwich was nice and warm but not too hot. I think this will be a new spot for me for lunch!

Essentially for me I had waited too long to eat and the idea of waiting longer was a non starter for me. Sandwiches are not my go to food outside the house, it seems silly on some level. However, the sandwich I had was fantastic and well balanced. There was a good amount of everything without it being too much. Sometimes it's too much. This was great. They also had good, homemade or freshly made sides like potato salad and other salads you could get. It was great.

We ordered a variety of entrees, but the highlight was definitely the pho. The broth tasted very close to what you'd find in California and even Vietnam, which was a pleasant surprise. Really rich, balanced, and comforting. The only downside was the lack of fresh herbs on the side. It only came with a dish of bean sprouts, so it felt like it was missing that extra freshness that usually completes a bowl of pho. Service was amazing, mostly students from UC. But everyone was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Parking was pretty easy, which made the whole experience even smoother. Overall, still a solid spot, especially if you're craving pho that tastes authentic.

It was good, but nothing crazy special and a bit pricy for the size in my opinion. My friend ordered the same but with half chicken salad, half egg salad--which I wish I did to try both! However, the worker who helped us (he started two weeks ago!) was exceedingly nice and helpful with recommendations. I think they're actually more known for their pickles (cool to see they also offer fermentation classes) so I'd be interested in trying their Pickle Boat and some cold salads next time. (Also wish my sandwich came with a pickle!) There is both interior and exterior patio seating and lots of pig-themed decor throughout the store. This wouldn't be a regular spot for me because of the price-to-portion size ratio, but I would be excited to come again to try more of their menu.
