It pairs perfectly with a raspberry iced tea and the strawberry parfait--highly recommend that combo. I've seen a few reviews that paint a less favorable picture of the staff or food, but that hasn't matched my experience at all. Every visit I've had has been met with friendly service and consistently great-tasting food. Pricing typically runs around $17-25 for a meal like mine, which is right in line with other downtown Cincinnati breakfast spots. Hard working staff, omelets made to order including egg white ones, you add 4 ingredients plus 1 meat (veggie burger, turkey bacon, bacon, sausage) for $15.99 which comes with 2 slices of toast and hash browns. Some meat like bacon is baked in the brick oven so it's a nice added touch. Kind of pricey but the omelet was good and plenty to eat. The place is kept clean with someone always going around cleaning tables and clearing them. They have all kinds of drinks including Starbucks coffee. The view is beautiful right inside the Westin hotel ground floor lobby ish but it's kind of chilly. I wish it were a bit warmer to enjoy my hot food bc it got cold fast. Other than the prices (to be expected inside a hotel) and the chilly atmosphere, it's a great place and space and lots of space. And very nice staff. read more

Had breakfast here. It was decent. They had a very nice line chef who made omelets or eggs any way you like. He gave us a ton of bacon and cooked extra in his brick oven so it would be crispy as we like. They had a wheel that you could spin for free items. My wife and I each got a free 20 ounce bottled drink. Clerk said we were only one to spin it that day. You can get fruit, bagels and pastries I do not know where they come. We ran in to Ingredients in the Weston across from Fountain Square to get a quick breakfast before going to the Reds game on Thursday, September 25, 2025. We had the pleasure of meeting Derek whipping up all kinds of delicious looking concoctions by the Wood fire oven. He was so pleasant and even though we weren't getting a big breakfast, he said come back tomorrow and I'll fix you the best omelette you ever eaten. Well the next day we took him up on that and he was right; it was absolutely delicious. We split it and still brought some home. While I was waiting for the omelette, he took out an unbelievable looking grilled cheese. The next time we go to Cincinnati, we are definitely going back there to eat. I had a simple eggs, bacon and potato breakfast. it was perfect for me and there was another option with biscuits and gravy. The coffee was good it was Pike's and or Starbucks. they have lots of different types including lattes. They don't have toast but they do have other choices and you can have them make an omelette for you the way you like it. Service was good but the ambience is a little bit like a cafeteria. I think it's because of the high ceilings and the open space but it's good to go and get a little something if you are working and staying in the hotel. The staff was really friendly and made me feel welcome. On Saturday there were very few people which was just the way I like it and so I sat in the little nook around the corner where they have some booths. My girlfriend met me and got a muffin that she liked a lot. Overall this is great for a quick meal. It appears they are very popular on weekdays because they make all kinds of different salads that you can specialize based on the "ingredients" hence the name of the restaurant. read more

Update time. My impression is that Ingredients has been backsliding for the last year or two. At least at the salad bar, both quantity and quality seem to have waned somewhat. The containers for the salads changed a while back, and I swear that they are smaller. (Prices have risen only modestly over several years.) And although the veggies still seem fresh, the quality of the proteins has taken a nosedive. I don't know if ownership has changed, or just a supplier, but the chicken, which used to come in flavorful, tender chunks, now is often stringy, shredded, dried-out, and often deprived of any flavor other than salt. The "Super Foods Salad," which used to be a well-balanced combination of namesake ingredients, was recently transformed into a goofy mess of mis-matched items. The food area is starting to look a bit shabby, too: For two or three months now, several of the video menu boards have been down, so you can't even tell everything that the restaurant has to offer. read more

Ok, so this place actually has really good salads, and the options for building a custom one are pretty awesome too. The hot sandwiches and pizzas etc are also decent, though I really stick to salads. What does, however, take away from the good about this place are some of the staff. And to be honest, there used to be two awful staffers, and now it appears to be down to one. What do I mean by awful? ATTITUDE. Food is a 5. Service was a 2. As I stood in line to get a build-your-own salad at ingredients, another gentleman stood nearby waiting for his food to finish cooking. When his food was ready, the gentleman behind the counter loudly yelled across the room at him "YOUUU! HEY YOUUU!.... YOUUUU!" Sorry Ingredients, but the correct answer was "Excuse me, sir. Your food is ready." Watching this interaction already put a bad taste in my mouth. I stepped up to the counter to order my salad. The look on the gentleman's face told me that my presence was an inconvenience. Don't get me wrong, the quality of food at Ingredients is fantastic. The ingredients truly are fresh and the chipotle vinaigrette dressing is something I wish I had in my fridge at all times. I also love that Ingredients mixes the salad for you before they put it in the to-go container. But If I'm spending $11 on a fast-casual salad, I expect the person behind the counter to be at least mildly pleasant. read more

This used to be one of my favorite lunch spots. I'm glad they have survived through the pandemic but there has been a significant reduction in menu items and the level of service has suffered. A staple in downtown Cincy lunch lore, Ingredients offers hot and cold sandwiches, salads, and brick oven pizzas. My roast beef and cheddar was good, and my friends sandwich and pizza also were tasty. I will admit, the order process confusing, as there is a long line for salads, but separate area to shout out orders for pizza or sandwiches. Then wait for your item and move to the drinks and pay. Ingredients is a good option for a quick downtown lunch. You have the choice of a create your own salad, pizza or sandwiches. The salad station seems to be the most organized of the choices, but you don't have to wait long for a pizza or sandwiches. If you are a salad person, this will definitely be your jam, because there are a multitude of salad topping options. This is not necessarily my favorite place to come for lunch, but it works in a pinch or if you have a picky eater in your party. read more

Third review update for this place and its a BIG ONE -- THEY HAVE A MAKE YOUR OWN OMELET STATION ON SUNDAY! I got a Western Omelet stuffed to the brim with peppers, mushrooms, onions, cheese, and ham a giant heaping pile of hash browns, three pieces of bacon and an english muffin for $9.00. WHAT?! Yes please! The Omelet was legit too, it was cooked perfectly and the ingredients were VERY fresh. Maybe that's why they call this place Ingredients? Also it is important to note that the staff here really cares about their jobs. I have seen nothing but smiles and friendly conversation here, which is kind of rare these days. I've always heard a lot about Ingredients from my wife but I never got around to trying it for myself until a couple of weeks ago. This salad, sandwich, panini, and pizza quick service restaurant is located in the atrium lobby of the Westin Cincinnati, just across the street from Fountain Square. The primary draw is definitely the salad station where the customer can choose from a wide variety of ingredients to create a personalized salad or select from one of their signature combinations. The line was very long for this station, while the sandwich and other station was not nearly as crowded. But as this was my first time I figured I better try one of the salads. I went with the southwest chicken salad with black beans, corn, tomatoes, tortilla strips, avocado, scallions, cilantro, cheddar cheese, and jalapeno ($7.95). The employees at the salad station quickly threw the ingredients together, tossed it all together with ranch dressing and put it in a super sized to go container. As the weather was nice I decided to take my lunch over to Fountain Square to enjoy in the sunshine. The salad was very large and I could have easily been split with another for a light lunch. The ingredients were all very fresh and the combination was great! I noticed that these signature salads are also available in a prepared cooler, but I think it's worth the ten minute wait to get it assembled fresh and tossed together even if you aren't making any modifications. Every single time I go to Ingredients there is a line 30 people long waiting for a salad, and I don't think I've ever waited a full ten minutes to get out the door. How does one mess up breakfast? Well, starting with cheap ingredients is one way. Everything in our "quick" breakfast was borderline inedible. Mushy, cheap sausage links. Pre-cooked greasy bacon. Thrown together quesadilla so dry we asked for a side of salsa to get its down. Cold, soggy "toast" and omelets that looked like my 2nd grader made them! I felt bad having my kids even eat it. Not to mention, it took 30mins from entering the "restaurant" until we started to get our food. Thankfully the $59 breakfast for 4 (3kids) was covered by The Westin. I would have refused to pay for at least half of it. This place may be good for a quick lunch on a busy weekday, but avoid for breakfast on a weekend! read more

Was I ever so excited to finally eat at Ingredients! During a trip to the East Coast, I was enamored with a restaurant called Chop't that created made-to-order salads on the go. Then I discovered Ingredients basically does the same thing here in Cincinnati! The line is tremendously long during the lunch hour, so I stopped by in the early afternoon. All of the salad toppings were fully stocked and the server tossed together a Chipolte Chicken Salad for me. Lettuce and toppings go into a giant bowl with the dressing, then it is tossed together and served. Yum! Evenly dispersed food! I enjoyed every bite of my giant salad which was flavorful, healthy and filling. Unfortunately, the chicken didn't sit well with me. It was processed (not a fresh grilled breast like you'd get at Freshii) and ended up bothering my stomach. I love the concept of Ingredients and want to try other combinations of their salads, but I think I'll avoid the meat and just stick with veggies in my salad. Price per person: $8.00 read more

I went there twice while visiting the area because of how much I liked it. I love Ingredients. I feel like it's often overlooked or forgotten because it's a little out of the way. It's a great spot to grab a quick bite during the day, and a favorite of employees in the central business district downtown. They have delicious brick oven pizzas; made to order- as well as salads and sandwiches. There's always a bit of a lunch rush, but the lines move quickly. If you aren't in the mood to wait, there is a case with some items already pre made, as well as a small case with some bakery items. They also offer coffee. One of my girlfriends suggesting meeting up for a quick weekday lunch at Ingredients. Conveniently located between our two offices, I am very happy that I took her suggestion, and this will not be my first and only time eating here. As is the typical reaction for an assembly line-type food bar, I exclaimed "Oh, is this like a Chipotle for salad bars?" And yes, it is. You pick a bowl of greens (iceberg lettuce - blech but some people are fans; chopped romaine or spring mix), then proceed to pick what toppings you want dolloped on top. There are four kinds of protein - salmon, salad shrimps, grilled and blacked chicken, and very nice variety of toppings. I had my bowl of romaine heaped with tiny little salad shrimp (so-so, I'll probably pick chicken next time), hard cooked eggs, blue cheese, bacon, artichoke hearts, sundried-tomatoes, and garbanzo beans. If I'm eating salad for lunch, I want it to be hearty, and this fit the bill. I believe my salad was about $8.50, and for the variety of toppings and how substantial the salad was, I thought it was a pretty fair deal. Did I mention...conveniently located after the salad bar and right next to the cashier station...was a case of some of the most yummy looking, HUGE squares of lemon bars and brownies? Seriously. At a salad bar. Curses. The only reason why I'm not giving Ingredient's four stars (and instead a rather cheap-ass 3 stars rating) is because of the existing competition of SO. MANY. GOOD. Fast casual-style/assembly line eateries that are popping up everywhere. Compared to the value and cost of food that I can get at Blaze, Fusian, or Piada (or, well, Chipotle!), Ingredients definitely fell short because it cost the same (or more) than the former options and just isn't as tasty. Essentially, I MUCH prefer a salad from next door at Currito over Ingredients, and it costs less too. However, I will definitely be back to Ingredients, and perhaps next time when I'm feeling both virtuous for munching on a salad and naughty, I will also indulge in that behemoth of a fudge brownie. read more

Since moving back from California, I have searched high and low for a GOOD salad restaurant. How I miss sweet tomatoes and fresh choice, all you can eat salad bar with fresh ingredients for a low price! So imagine my elation when my cousin introduced me to ingredients! I'm teetering between 3 and 4 stars... First few times I came here, I loved that I was getting a gigantic salad (lunch + 1/2 dinner) that tasted much fresher than the prepared ones you get at other sandwich-salad-soup joints downtown. I'm still pretty sure this is the best salad bar downtown, but the last time I came, I was sorely disappointed when I uncovered a raw shrimp in my superfoods salad. Let it be noted that the superfoods salad contains no shrimp. Its ingredients are (supposedly): salmon, broccoli, endamame, asparagus, almonds, tomatoes, and onions. I stared at the shrimp to make sure it wasn't an oddly shaped salmon, but nope, there was no mistaking the greyish hue and veins. On top of that, my salmon was just -- for lack of a better term, too fresh? There were goops of what look liked gelatin on it and it tasted too raw for my liking. I found myself eating the greens first and picking around the protein, which is rare. Ok, so consistency isn't their forte. But I do think you get bang for your buck if you opt for one of the signature salads. First off, the portion you get is bigger than what you get when you make your own. As an example, if I make my own superfoods salad with the same ingredients I'm paying just over 8 bucks. But by ordering the superfoods salad and swapping out one or two ingredients, I shell out $7.95 at the register. Tricks o' the trade. I'll probably try the pizza next time. A nice salad bar and a fairly decent men's for a glorified Starbucks. Nice seating space. What I can't get over was the news that the smoothie, which appeared to have been sitting for hours and the components of which were long since separated, was priced at $14! There was an apple/kale, a cucumber-citrus, and an orange-carrot. All were pre-made "fresh", and put on a shelf to sit until a wealthy patron came to buy it. I have never seen such a pricing atrocity. I love this place. You know what I love most about it? The fact that I can get a salad exactly the way I want! They have so many ingredients (hence the name) to choose from to add to a variety of lettuce. Take your pick: romaine, spring mix, ice burg or spinach. They basically have every cheese, veggie and protein you could want to top your salad. My favorite cheese is the mozzarella balls and I love the blackened chicken for a nice kick. The star of the show is the dressing, for me. The roasted garlic vinaigrette is fantastic. SO MUCH FLAVOR! I frequent this spot for lunch and I am never disappointed! read more
