I think it's time I update my review. I've been getting great service consistently. All of the employees are courteous and you always feel welcome when you visit. One thing to improve on is that sometimes, their tables can be a bit sticky due to food residue. That's kind of expected since get a lot of kids but I still think they can do a better job of cleaning up the mess. To be fair, parents should bare some of the burden. Wow, beyond awful. Did you know Panera outsourced deliveries? We did not until they told us our order could not be delivered and they re-contacted Doordash. We ordered directly from Panera, too bad 2 hrs later now and closing... Buyer beware. Any place better. Fwiw, used to go get pickup there myself and was routinely served French Onion soup with NO cheese. Went to Mgr and told that the soup line is the first station for new hires... so basically, sorry no cheese in French Onion soup but be ready to deal with that again and again. I just feel stupid for ever going back! Almost same feeling I got from Taco Bell. Regret and remorse-- taco bell more from eating it, Panera more from paying for it! The food is very good, getting the food is the problem. Ordered online delivery today, 2 pick 2 & 1 kids meal. Delivery time was 2:40-2:50, about 45 minutes. Food was late, arrived at 3. I made the mistake of not checking the bag. 1 sandwich was missing. I called right away. Manager asked me to spell my name @ least 8 times. He/she (not sure) said My order wasn't there. Finally I suggested the order # & it was found. He/she apologized in a very loud, overly perky (not at all genuine voice). I was given 3 options 1. Wait for 1 delivery person on duty to return, 2. Get a coupon in the mail or 3. Go to the restaurant myself for a refund. I said I was hungry and wanted my food AND a coupon delivered. An hour later, 4:00, my sandwich came. My friend and I are medical students who studied here all the time during our board prep period. We loved the music and overall ambience and the fact that we could sit here studying for hours on end. I have the unlimited Sip Club and use it to grab and go for a quick coffee or charged lemonade in the mornings on the way to the gym. Unfortunately, this location has decided that it is a security risk to have the lemonade out. This means when I mobile order, I can't grab my own cup and fill it, nor do they have my drink prepared and sitting on the pickup shelf for me to grab. No, instead I have to go to the food prep counter, try to flag down a kitchen employee, tell them what I'm waiting for, have them repeat all of the specs of my order, be asked whether I want ice, wait several minutes for them to finish what they are doing to then eventually pour my drink, and instead of a full cup of ice that I would have put in my cup myself, eventually get handed a drink with about 10 cubes in the top. This totally defeats the purpose of mobile order for pickup if I have to go inside, flag down an employee, and wait 5 minutes. I was told "people were stealing them" and this is why the lemonades are behind the counter, but they still have huge bags of food out for pickup, espresso drinks, etc. By the time I go through this whole charade, I'm now late to get to wherever I'm going. Also this location basically only has like one table that is near any decent power outlets. Skip the Cary location and hit up the one on Miami instead, which will trust you to pour your own drink and has several really nice booths with electricity so you can work. read more

We just moved to the area and were excited to have a drive-thru Panera bread near us! We have been going to Panera Bread regularly since 2008 and usually have a good experience. Unfortunately this particular location is lacking something, our order has been wrong each time and when it is corrected it's still pretty mediocre. I'm not impressed with this branch and will likely start to drive thru the Starbucks next door instead. read more

I have been to a few different Paneras around the RTP area, but this was the first time I was at this particular location. The site itself was clean and had a more modern feel. The drive-thru is an interesting feature that I do not think I have seen before in this chain. You can order through the app or the computers if you wish as well. The dining area is nice and there are large tables with some decently comfortable chairs. The food here was good and came out quickly, just like any other Panera in the chain, even if the menu was a little limited. I had half the Steak and Arugula Sandwich, half the Romaine and Kale Caesar Salad with Chicken and a strawberry rhubarb mini cake. All of which were good. I actually really liked this take on the Caesar salad especially with the Parmesan croutons. read more

Ordered online, first time. The Rapid pick-up is an awesome feature. So darn easy. Place your order and decide when you want to pick up your order, than pay. The tomato soup was great. My son and i love to dip our french baguette in the soup. Also first time trying the steak and white cheddar 1/2 sandwich. It was really good. I love red onion with my sandwich. I'm quite disappointed with this Panera location. It used to be a great, relaxing, and enjoyable location to have a good breakfast, read the paper, and enjoy a great coffee. Unfortunately, this location is in decay. The floors are dirty, not vacuum cleaned, with left overs under the tables. Management should be more attentive to the cleanness of the restaurant, specially nowadays with the COVID-19 pandemic. Hope that other customers report same experience so that management can take action. read more

Visited this location s few times. Unfortunately I would have to agree with some the bad reviews. The freshness and food quality is definitely there, the portion sizes are outrageously ridiculous and inconsistent. I ordered from the pick-2 menu, the sandwich was less than half size and I ordered the Turkey chili that came in a cup that should be used for a sample size very small. Then the biggest shocker was the bill $13.00 for that !! read more

I have just recently visited this Panera Bread location for lunch. The team there was warm, friendly, and accommodating. I have placed an order for soup and chips; and then realized I'd also wanted bread with my order to go with the soup. I was willing to pay for the chips as an extra side item, and the staff there were adamant that they give me the bread on the house. Update. Ordered today and items was missing . Called manager on duty to complain, once again they offered a voucher. I explained I was not interested in the voucher, I wanted to complain about the complacency of the staff. Manager then said no refunds, I explained I was not interested in a refund. I ask if she would like my order number for reference she seem to get annoyed and said there was no way she could tell who did the order. She never asked me for my name, just the standard "I understand and I am sorry." Upon further inspection no utensils were present, I asked for extra tuna the order was a standard. This is unacceptable. I will be escalating this location to corporate. read more

But i drop in here a lot as its close to my place and I love soups and this has become a go to spot for me. the service is nice and although I can only vouch for soups they come out consistently good. What a great location. The drive thru is surprisingly fast. The girl at the counter was beyond lovely and the food was spot on as always.

Bad experience today, which caused me to walk away from an order. I came into Panera Bread for 2 bagels unsliced and 2 scones. I was greeted immediately and I proceeded to place the order, but the person taking my order was just learning the new POS system and she was struggling each step of the way. The problem was not about her struggling through the new system. I get it and I certainly don't mind. The problem was when she asked her peers for help. She was completely ignored. So at this point, I waited nearly 20 minutes and watch this person do her best and clearly her peers knew she was struggling. After watching her asked several times for help, I cancelled the order and before walking away, I expressed my dismay that her coworkers was so unwilling to lend 10 or 20 seconds of their precious time to help. This is a good example of poor teamwork and individual selfishness. Personally this behavior demonstrated by her peers needs to be addressed. Frankly, I would fire the two coworkers, express my apologies to this dear lady and take the time to teach or mentor her. read more

I received some coupons for some free items at Panera. I went in this morning (Panera Bread Cary Parkside Commons 1004 Parkside Main Street Cary, NC 27519) and presented one that was for a free focaccia but asked if I could get a bagel instead. The worker said "I have never seen one of these coupons before". She then proceeded to say "this is from 2003". I replied by asking where is the expiration date on it? She acknowledged that there was no expiration date but she would ask a manager. The manager comes over shaking his head no and then said to me "I have never seen this before and I have been here 5 years so we don't accept these. Maybe that is for a franchise store and this is a corporate store'. Then he handed it back to me and walked away. I order(ed) from this location for my company for years BUT THAT WILL STOP IMMEDIATELY! Just because YOU have never seen the coupon that has no expiration date on it should NOT be a reason for it to not be honored. Poor customer service at it's best!!!!! I typically go to Panera for the bear claw but today I decided to expand my horizons and try a sausage egg and cheese on an everything bagel. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed with this choice as there was little to no flavor to the sandwich. As my brother in law says "stick with what you know". Wow. Wow. Wow. This Panera is amazing to be honest. So we went through the drive through to get two tuna sandwiches (they are my favorite) and when we got home we realized that one wasn't tuna. I was disappointed because we couldn't get back up there any time soon we were stuck at my friends house. So we called the store, talked to the manager, and he said they would be happy to deliver it to us. So I got the pick two only half tuna, and they gave me a whole one too! He brought it to my door, called me personally and apologized they got it wrong. I've always loved Panera but this was so great! I wish I could give this location 0 stars. Ordered a turkey sausage, egg and cheese sandwich to which the unfriendly cashier said we don't have turkey sausage. Interesting since I came to the same cashier last week and ordered the same very sandwich. It was the first time I had seen a sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on the menu and because I don't eat pork or beef by choice (for 10 yrs) asked the cashier what kind of meat was the sausage patty. She stated it was turkey, I was overjoyed because it's rare to find turkey sausage patties. Last week the sandwich was good but on the cold side. What made up for it was finally being able to enjoy a turkey sausage patty sandwich. Well as I would find out reordering the sandwich the 2nd time with the same cashier, she now seems unsure if it's a turkey patty, I asked her if she could please find out because she was apparently ok with being unsure. I guess I'm not supposed to ask or care and take whatever she has. Well we'll well, she comes back and says it's not turkey. WHAT??? You sold me a pork patty last week and then were going to sell me one again had I not noticed you looked confused and unsure. This is EPIC and a BIG DEAL. I haven't eaten pork in 15 years. No apology. She was actually rushing me after I stood there dazed and confused trying to figure whether to order something else or run. I mean are the eggs really eggs? I went to the pick up food counter after ordering a plain egg sandwich...to keep it safe and spoke with the employees there about it because it literally had rocked my world. They said maybe she was confused because there used to be an egg white turkey sandwich and that they would be speak with her. A small apology was given but honestly they should have made it right. I should not have had to pay for my meal. The lady at the counter is not welcoming, friendly nor is knowledgeable of all the items on the menu. Beware. So I called the store and while they did offer to make me another sandwich and give me a coupon, no one ever apologized. Instead they made it seem like an inconvenience for them. So I drove all the back to the store, and when I got there, again, no one apologized, but instead acted like it was an inconvenience for them. They gave e me my sandwich but no coupons.
