Just a terrible Panera. Management is awful and seems to treat their employees terribly. I have had multiple problems here. 1) Ordered delivery to my home five minutes from Panera. It was supposed to arrive within about 45 minutes. Honestly pretty long for one soup at 11am on a Tuesday, but whatever. Except an hour and a half later it still wasn't there...as I was without a car at the time, I tried to call the store. No answer. I called three times then gave up. Finally they showed up a half an hour later, making my wait time 2+ hours for one cup of soup to my home five minutes down the road. 2) Got in the drive thru line at night with my boyfriend. It was relatively busy. We waited at the speaker with our window rolled down for about ten minutes. I work in a drive thru myself so I'm very aware of how drive thru works and exactly how to act. Finally we just pulled to the window as obviously no one was going to take our order. When we got up there, the woman was EXTREMELY rude and tried to argue with my boyfriend saying she had taken our order...uh no. No apology or anything, simply arguing with us and then made a big deal about the single pastry we wanted that took two seconds to grab from the case. 3) Ordered a bread bowl. Received bread for sure, and about two spoonfuls of lukewarm soup. I am incredibly incredibly shy and was too nervous to confront any employee about it...I literally ended up wasting my money purchasing another bowl and I'm so mad now that I did, I just hate confrontation. I paid like $14 total for barely any soup. Honestly I just keep coming here because it's the only even close to moderately healthy fast food place near where I live. If we had anywhere else I'd avoid this Panera like the plague. There are a few wonderful employees but obviously management is terrible. read more

Haven't been to a Panera in years as I am not a fan. But, had a working early lunch meeting schedule there with a colleague last Thursday. The place is nice, as this is a recently built Panera a few doors down from the old one. Inside everything was new and clean and looked good. Service was great, too. I opted to have the mango smoothie rather than get a lunch. It was OK. I noticed that there seemed to be new items on the menu (I hope so since I had not been in one for about 10 years), so I might give it another try. On Sunday I went to Panera bread and went through the drive-through line and ordered a coffee and bagel. The service I received was not only a letdown but far below the standards and expectations of any Panera bread I've ever been to. To put it lightly it was a kin to being let down over and over by every politician ever. I waited for 32 minutes for just a coffee and bagel in the drive-through line. 32 minutes! Seriously 32 minutes. I wasn't upset until I got to the front of the line when I was greeted with poor customer service and an attitude from the staff. I like Panera but do not eat here often and probably have not been to this location for longer than I can remember. I had a craving for a specific bagel. Unfortunately we entered the drive thru. This test seems totally unprepared to handle a drive thru. There were some not a few cars in front of us and it was not a peak time. We easily waited 20 minutes to get 2 bagels. Ridiculous! I would not recommend using the drive thru at all. Spoke to a family member and they expressed similar experiences. read more

Panera is set up for organized & quick food service. What was supposed to be a quick stop for a breakfast & coffee break turned out to be a 20 minute wait. In house customers were stacking up at the pick up counter while drive thru orders were getting priority. My sandwich was sitting there - all it needed was a package & bagged to go. Worst Panera ever. Every time I go, they take forever to bring their food out. The soup was cold and they forgot the modifications on my salad. Stopped in around 7pm. Walked in to an odd smell. Not horrible but not pleasant. Floor was sticky and 2 flies were buzzing around the desserts. Ordered and while waiting noticed how dirty and overflowing the trash area is. After getting food we went in search of a CLEAN table. Never found one. I wiped it myself with wet wipes and napkins. Food was ok. Nothing special. Added our trash and dishes to the heaps of stuff in the disposal area. Noticed the floor was wet to the bathrooms. I didn't investigate, I was too grossed out at this point. What a shame, we finally found some fast-ish food in the area that is not fried but the place was filthy. Won't be back. read more

Ordered online the night before. Arrived at the restaurant to pick up order at specified time and order wasn't ready. It took almost 15 minutes for them to prepare a very easy order. 4 bagels, 4, cinnamon rolls and 4 danishes. One of the items I ordered wasn't available, no apology but not too much of a big deal. It was the attitude of the person packing the order that made the experience bad. The worst part was they didn't offer an apology through the entire process. I was patient and quite the entire time and didn't really get upset until the lady behind the counter handed me my bag as if I had done something wrong. I usually love Panera bread. This was the worst I've ever been to. I live in California and I travel quite a bit. This is a poorly run restaurant that needs new management. All the tables were filthy and not cleaned. We asked to get a table cleaned and the first person we asked said, "We don't do that." What??? Who does do that? I walked up to the front of the restaurant and asked a second person who reluctantly cleaned a table for us. The workers there acted as though they didn't want to be there. I was very disappointed. Half of the food we ordered came way later then the first part. I will not be going back to this restaurant when I visit again. read more

I agree with other reviews. Every time we visit Panera in Burlington we leave disappointed. A handful of times we have ordered food, paid for our order and waited for it only to find out that they do not have key ingredients to make it. We have even once been served a turkey sandwich that had no turkey on it. The kitchen staff is rude and obviously can't properly put together orders. Some of the staff are very kind (the people working the floor in particular) but otherwise there needs to be better management of this location. With all the harsh reviews, I would have expected to see some improvements by now. Unfortunately, that's not the case. It's such a disappointment because our family likes the healthier options at Panera bread but this location is THE WORST run location I've ever visited. read more

Really been disappointed in this Panera location. A week ago around 6:30 am, ordered a half dozen bagels. After waiting 10 minutes, was told they didn't have any sesame bagels, which i thought is their #1 seller. Was told it be 5 minutes until they were ready. Twenty minutes later, I received my order. Today @ 7:15 am, my wife stopped by to order a dozen bagels. There was only had 3 bagels in the bins that were ready to serve. Really?? Very disappointed!! read more

This review is for the MORGANTON, NC Panera. I've been in here before and they are slow; slow to work the cash register and slow to make the food. So I thought I would "call ahead" and order since I'm in a hurry. Also it's Friday. But when I got there after a 15 minute drive, they took my money quick enough but didn't give me my bag of food. Why not? Because they hadn't even started the order. Seriously. One person in the restaurant eating, zero people in line, and four people behind the counter chatting away with each other. I won't go into why I was in such a hurry, which became a moot point since I had to wait, but this total lack of service really ticked me off. The manager apologized and gave me some free coupons which I probably won't use since I won't be going back to that Panera. I should have read the reviews before I went. Maybe I'll save you the trouble. Go to the Hickory Panera, the older one on 27 which is and has always been run well, not the newer one on 70 which isn't much better than this new one in Morganton. This location makes me so sad because I love Panera's food, but this one has no business being a drive through. I waited in line for fifteen minutes before I even ordered (would have left but the curb blocks you in) and another 15 in front of the window because the staff didn't know what they were doing. The one running the register was just wandering around. They finally figured out the system, but they forgot part of my order so I waited another couple of minutes. Coming from a Panera lover this is my least favorite location I've ever been to. If there is a line for the drive through, never wait in it. I always think it will be better and a shorter wait than the last time but it never is. I never post reviews but I just have to communicate how bad this restaurant has gone down hill over the past few years. I visit Panera's all over NC and I have never had such bad service as this one. There are staff that need to go. They speak to customers rudely and do not seem sincere about mistakes they make. They are so slow with no sense of urgency to make the food, clean the tables, take your order, or correct mistakes. On the last visit we were not asked about a .99 pastry after the order was rung up and they had to charge us 2.00+ for a cookie!!! That same visit they were out of Baguette bread and several items on menu. I had to ask for a replacement for the bread as it was not offered and they would not replace with a bagel??? It was 7pm visit and I know those bagels are donated at the end of the night so I did not understand why they would not replace with a bagel. This Panera needs to travel down the street to Chick Fil A or Starbucks and observe what good customer service looks like. I will not visit this Panera again. read more

Panera is usually good, but this location has problems. It is hands down the slowest drive through I have ever been to in my life. I like to stop and grab breakfast here before work, but it's a 10-15 minute stop every time, even if I'm the only car in the drive through. I order a muffin and a yogurt. Rude and horribly slow service. The redhead at the register kept cutting my mother off and harassing her when she didn't know what she wanted. THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND US so I don't know what the point in rushing my 61-year-old mother was. Waited 16 minutes for a couple of sandwiches when the restaurant and drive thru were completely empty. The people making the food act like they're high and wander around in the back doing absolutely nothing. There's also a chick-fil-a and Taco Bell on this road, so I would try one of those where they have better food, better service, and better attitudes. read more

This is the worst Panera ever. Called and ordered catering for our business 3 days in advance, called this morning 10/24/2017 to confirm. According to them everything was ok and ready to go. Delivery was supposed to be between 11:30 and 11:45, it is now 12:20 and still no food. Called them back twice now and they act like they could care less. The two positive qualities that this Panera has are the WiFi and the music is decent. But really, every time I am here I ask myself why I came back. This review is more or less my goodbye to the Panera on Huffman Mill Rd. The staff has always been bad here, they all seem miserable. They do say the generic pleasantries that you would "require" your staff to say but it's not genuine at all. It really just sucks the positive energy out of the atmosphere when you walk in. The food is so sad, it's like an assembly line of a more expensive McDonald's. Just because the word "brioche" is in the name of the sandwich doesn't mean it's going to be made with any pride. At least at McDonald's you pay for what you get, this Panera's makes a $4.00 breakfast sandwich painful to swallow. I really think it all comes down to who is hiring the staff and the energy of the management. This place is so close to Elon University, it should be high energy, they could be busy all the time (and they were busy at the old location) but the energy and lack of enthusiasm of the employees is killing this location. I do not want this Panera to close like so many other places in this town but something needs to change or it will be sooner than they think. Maybe put together a focus group or hire a secret shopping company? I am sitting in here right now, and leaving to go to Starbucks (where they also have decent music and WiFi) but their microwaved, overpriced food is better and the staff is genuinely happy and puts positive energy out into the world! read more

Went there with friends for dinner last night. We were dining inside the restaurant and when they delivered our order, my husband's entree was missing. Instead of the manager taking care of this properly, my husband was told to go through the long line again. My French onion soup was cold. When I requested they reheat it, it came back lukewarm. We had ordered a cherry pastry and the cashier asked if we would like it put into a bag, to which we replied yes. She went over and picked the pastry up with a tissue and then tossed it into a paper bag without any wrapping or box. Finally, the manager asked if something was wrong and when we explained what was happening, she just said she was sorry and walked away. As much as we love Panera, we will NEVER visit this location again! read more

I was home by the time I realized so I called to let them know. I was told a manager would call me back which never happened. I guess I just got robbed.
