What my husband received looked like a portion from a kids menu. He ordered a grilled cheese with ham and that half of a sandwich was 7.78 with a thin slice of ham that was 2.80 extra. Pretty crazy! My salad and soup as well was like they were rationing the food. Soup as well was minimal. Not like other paneras. Keep in mind we paid 34.52. Can't stand dining in and receiving plasticware either. Do not recommend this location. Husband and I went there for late lunch on March 12, 2026. The person that took our order acted like we were a bother and didn't want to be there. They wouldn't speak up where you could hear them which was annoying. The tables were not clean. We ordered steak salad. It was not steak! It didn't even taste like steak and was on the mushy side. They were out of tomatoes for the salad. The "greens" were mostly Yellow. I wish I had returned it and just asked for a Bagel. Ugh! People just don't seem to care to do a good job anymore. I used the app to place a dine in order. Food was ready in about 10 minutes. I ordered the you pick 2. Soup and sandwich, the broccoli cheddar soup tasted great and was hot not warm. Baguette piece to accompany it was fresh and tasted good. I ordered the grilled chicken avocado blt that came with garlic aioli ( aka garlic mayo). I requested an asiago bagel instead of the rustic bread. The sandwich was not good it tasted like there was caesar dressing on it not garlic aioli which made it taste gross. Yelp listing 1.5 stars and $$. How in God's green earth is this place still in business?!? Stopped in at 9 am with wife looking forward to a bacon souffle. There were only two sad looking over baked cheese ones. Asked woman behind the register if there were any in the back and got a sour no, without even glancing towards the back. Then asked if bacon could be added, as we have been to some locations that have done that. Again, an unsmiling no. She had no business representing the brand. As she boxed them up, we noticed a pastry that looked interesting, but left as we didn't want to deal with her again. Are souffles their McFlurry, a great product but are too difficult to provide? They never have them! It blows my mind that they'll take my $14 and in return I get a piss poor customer service experience and two over cooked and dried out items. It's got to be management. I'd suggest they attend a Chick Fila training and try and bump up that 1.5 star rating to justify the prices they're charging. read more

Your manager needs to know how to treat clients and how to explain things. We looked at the board and went to the pick two. Under bowl we picked the broccoli cheese soup. We asked if the chicken Roma on a bagel was part of it and we would take we asked if it was a half so you got a half a sandwich and a bowl the way the menu shows is a bowl is listed on one side and the sandwiches listed on the other side. For 809 for the bowl half and in the bowl. We got charged for both the whole sandwich and 699 and a bowl at 8:09. If you're not supposed yeah a half a sandwich and a bowl of soup then why is it listed in two separate lines. They tried to charge us 36 something and I didn't wanna spend that much and it was explained very well to us in the beginning when we asked if that was a half a sandwich with a bowl of soup so I see why this store is rated with a 1.5 and I will not ever come here again I would give it a zero. read more

I had a headache and came in with my husband looking for some comfort food on the healthier side and a mellow soundtrack playing on the speakers. In my experience, Panera is often good for people who want both. Besides the nice girl at the register, the entire staff looks like they do not even want to be there including the manager. When my husband and I walked up to the counter to get our food, I noticed my sandwich was not grilled, and that was how I'd ordered it. So, I went back and politely asked them to put it on the grill, only for the manager to snarl that he would have to throw my sandwich out and make a whole new one. First, this was never something that was said to me at other Panera locations and I have twice worked for the company (one at an out-of-state location, the other location being in a different county) and been a customer for almost two decades. Second, even if this was the case, it never takes long for a sandwich to be remade, custom or not. I was about to tell them I'd stick with what I had before the manager turned his back and spoke to an employee, then turned to me and asked what I had on my sandwich. I told him, and in an unfriendly tone, he gestured toward the trash bins and said I could throw my sandwich out. I felt bad now having to do that and began to wish I'd never gone up to the counter in the first place. My head was hurting and I really didn't feel like arguing, I just wanted a hot sandwich. When my sandwich was ready, I thanked the staff. They said nothing and stared at me blankly. They came across as so rude and unfriendly that I would not have been surprised if one of them had defiled it in some way. I won't be going back to this location, and if I do go back at all I'll make sure that whatever location I visit will have order kiosks. Such locations save previous orders on your MyPanera card and custom orders will not be a problem. Best of all, you wouldn't have to deal much with staff, if at all. I don't know how likely a future visit might be though, as my husband has been consistently disappointed during the last few visits as well, citing the overpriced menu and even more limited options. My coworker went here on 11/8 and ordered the cheddar broccoli soup to go. She got to the car and decided to go ahead and open it to eat. She said it tasted funny and it didn't look right. She found brown worms in her soup!!!! She has pictures of it too. After taking it back in they only offered her a refund and didn't apologize. Do not, I repeat do not, order this new sub offering from Panera Bread. It is the Smokey Buffalo Chick Melt for $10.99. I was anxious to try this sub. I could not have been more disappointed. I have ordered subs before and they have been so-so. This new sub reflects the owner is a cheap skate. Over time they keep reducing the amount of meats and condiments so the subs/sandwiches are constantly getting thinner and thinner. The Melt I ordered today had 2 small pieces of chicken, the cheese was virtually non existent, the red onion had a few small rings, and the sauce was spread so thin I could barely taste it. The baguette was stale. The only thing decent was the potato chips. I have had better subs at Wegmans grocery store for half the price. My wife had her pick2 chicken salad and onion soup and she said there was hardly any chicken in the salad. I know there is a lot of news about the bird flu infecting chickens, but it is rude to charge the same price for a reduced portion. This is an ongoing pattern at this restaurant that says "I am greedy" so suck it up. It is a lack of respect for customers. I have posted about this Panera Bread in Burlington several times and the franchise owner refuses to make any improvements. First the restaurant is a mess. The tables are almost always dirty from previous diners. Also, there is trash and food on the seats and dining room floor. The restrooms are always messy with pee all around the urinal and on the toilet seat. They never check on the condition of the restrooms. They wait for a customer to mention the soap or paper towel dispenser needs to be refilled before they take action. Then they act like: "well you are supposed to wipe you hands on your pants and stop bothering me." The dirty dishes are always pilled up and the trash receptacle tops are covered with food where the customers failed to hit their aim into the holes. This franchise owner is never there and he never checks on his store. It is a disgrace the way he treats his customers. I don't know why the health department has not shut this store down. If you eat here you should immediately take an antibiotic. It is a shame the parent company does not do a surprise inspection. They would immediately put the franchise owner on probation, or take his franchise away from him. There is no excuse for this behavior. I frequent other casual dining franchises that have plenty of help and the restaurants are clean and the food is good. I must not be the only person disgusted with this franchise because when it reopened a few years ago it was always packed. Now there are plenty of open tables during peak dining hours. The owner should get off his a-- and get out of his indoor pool and drive his luxury SUV to this franchise to get it on track. There are other Panera Bread restaurants in the Triad, and this store is the worst. read more

My husband and I went to grab soup today about 3:30 pm. We paid at the counter, and included a tip. After waiting for 20 minutes or so, the kitchen called our name for pick up only to be told that soups would not be available for 40 minutes. We decided to get a refund and go somewhere else. At the register, the manager only gave a refund for one soup. When I told her we purchased two soups, she told us that only one of the soups was unavailable. We told her that the kitchen said that no soups were available and that we wanted a refund, including the tip I gave. She then stated "I'll refund you for the entire bill, but hope you never come back." I was so stunned, I asked her what she had just said and she told me that I was being rude. I really am trying to be completely fair during this trying time for vendors. I find myself being a lot more generous with the stars than normal. I just can't do it this time. I think a new low has been reached here. Now, Panera is good in a pinch, when you can't make up your mind for lunch. You can always get a cup of soup. I made the mistake today of also ordering a pastry as well as some bagels, thinking to have future treats. Hoo boy, where to begin? Let's start with the bagels. Now, I don't know the last time anyone from Regional made an inspection of this location or if its independently owned. I've been to LOTS of Panera locations from PA to OH to NC. Not one of them had bagel shapes like I received today. Lumpy bagels? wha? I'm not kidding. Two of the four bagels I ordered were oblong with lumps in them like they were cut up with a knife before baking. They were also rock hard. Like....I could use them as paper weights. Moving on to the pecan braid I got as a sweet treat. Wow. The person in charge of the pastries must REALLY have a thing for the icing because 90% of what I received was just that....icing. Very little actual pastry. I gave it a go & worked up the nerve to try it. I have never in my life spit anything out...until today. I couldn't stand to have whatever this was in my mouth. What kills me is that I spent about $27 for 4 bagels...only to get 2 edible bagels, 1 pastry that I ended up spitting out and a cup of soup that was merely edible. Maybe this location needs to be closed for a bit so the staff can go for a retrain? Or...just close it. Its a shame because I don't know that Burlington has any other place to get bagels...but I will give them up before EVER coming here again. read more

To start, register attendant tried to overcharge me, had an attitude, floors and tables and chairs were filthy, staff yelled at customers because they were in the waiting area and were in their way, oh yeah and long wait times (see a correlation there), broccoli in the soup was crunchy, baguette bread dried out, some of the lettuce on the sandwich was bad/going rotten, plastic silverware. Just a bad experience. This is an overall store wide mindset, which requires management to get involved. I am sure this does not meet Panera Bread's standards. You used to do better. They have made errors on the last 19 of 20 to go orders. The order they didn't make a mistake was a single beagle toasted. I had to remind the employee to toast the beagle. I ordered bread bowl French Onion with extra croutons. Did not get the bread bowl or any croutons. Bacon Turkey Bravo with extra Turkey and tomatoes. This they got right. I wish I would've checked Yelp and saw the reviews before coming here, but Panera Bread is usually a safe and satisfying choice, especially during a road trip. Unfortunately this was not the case at this location.... Traveling from out of town, we stopped off for what we thought would be a good, healthy lunch. Upon entering, there was no greeting, or even a smile for that matter. When our four meals were ready, I wasn't asked if I needed help back to our table, so when I made a notation that I will come back for what I couldn't carry, I guess I shouldn't have been surprised that no one responded. They just gave me a look. I also had to return twice for missing utensils. There was no acknowledgment in regards to that either. Unfortunately, it didn't stop there. My 2 sons who ordered the mac & cheese said it tasted funny. Upon my inspection, both bowls looked as though they were full of either over cooked or "old" / reheated pasta. My other son who ordered a peanut butter and jelly sandwich got peanut butter and strawberry jelly without any notice. (Who just assumes that switching the jelly is OK?). The appearance of the drinks left a lot to be desired, as there were was a lot of settling in the lemonades and teas I was though the machines weren't working properly. Some of them were just about empty, super thick & dark at the bottom. Sitting next to me was a couple who was also upset about both of their meals being incorrect from what they ordered. One of them ended up having his drink spilled all over him as out of frustration looking for a clean table. No one offered to help him by giving him napkins or anything. He literally had lemonade all over his shirt and shorts. The staff seemed to care much more about socializing with each other than anything else. A lot of them were in the back talking and joking around with each other. As a matter of fact, a few times I looked up and saw a few of them staring at us while they were standing around talking, but there was never any proper acknowledgment as a customer. As this is a yearly trip for us, I will definitely make a mental note not to come back to this location. I have been a Panera Bread customer for years and am familiar with their usual level of standard. There is MUCH better out there. read more

This is by far the worst Panera I have ever been too. To start off this experience, they were out of bread.... Not sure how a bread company is out of bread, but I continued to order anyways. I tried to order a salad, but they were out of all of most of their dressings as well. Once our food came out, my order was incorrect. I went back to the window, and the unbelievably rude staff member, told me that the cashier rang my order up wrong, but if I wanted it fixed I would have to pay for another meal. Ordered a Chicken Noodle Soup and a Fuji Apple salad. Where do I begin? The chicken soup had an odd flavor that I can't explain. Like someone had put the "wrong" spices in it and it did not taste like chicken soup should. Next, the salad, ewww. It had so many dark, shriveled up and just plain nasty pieces of lettuce in it that I had to pick out about a third to one half of it. I didn't really want it after picking out the gross lettuce, but for $6.89 for a half, I ate it anyway. When I opened YELP and looked at the very low ratings, I was surprised (but not surprised) to see so many. I don't think I've ever encountered a restaurant with so many low ratings. Ordered a sandwich and smoothie online for quick pick-up. Mediterranean veggie sandwich contained mushy tomatoes and brown soggy lettuce. My green smoothie had large chunks of ice that made it difficult to drink through the straw, flavors were good, but could have used a couple more seconds in the blender--very frustrating when you just want something you can sip quickly while on the go and not have to take the whole top off the drink to enjoy it.
