Quick and fast service even though there was a line since it was later in the night. I had a passenger so we went to the shorter line on the left. Liked that this was an option and easy to turn into. I ordered the Regular tray with the regular burger with everything except bacon. For my two sides I did onion rings and fries. The burger was really messy to eat! Everything kept sliding out. Besides that, everything was pretty decent, but being one of the few places that's open late this is a good option to get a good burger. read more

Cook Out is so popular because of the consistent quality of food, including their ice cream products, and the fact that there is value available in their pricing - their Big Double with L, T & Cheese is $5.39 currently. I stopped in here for a quick lunch since I was in Burlington to pick up Broasted Chicken and Pork BBQ from Hursey's. I ordered the Big Double described above, and it was quickly at the window. As usual, this was a good burger, though more cheese would be a nice move. I still find Cook Out to be among the more consistent chains, no small feat. read more

Cook Out is usually a decent amount of fast food for the price, but I was definitely disappointed with the quality of this visit. I ordered a Jr. Tray (small burger) with a corn dog and onion rings. The burger was good, but the corn dog and onion rings were slightly on the cold side. My husband ordered a double burger with hushpuppies and fries. There were barely any fries in his tray. We also ordered two different milkshakes, but they gave us two of the same flavor. Service is typically quick, but this location is a nightmare trying to get in and out of from the traffic of the cars. They are building a new Cook Out across the street so hopefully that should help the flow of traffic better. I'd give Cook Out another shot because I know they've done better before. read more

is , we've been there three times since they moved to the new location. The first time got a barbecue sandwich plate and they barbecue sandwich out, the second time she got a quesadilla plate with extra quesadilla and then we put one quesadilla in the plate and didn't put Cajun seasoning on her fries. And this last time she got a sweet tea and they gave her unsweet tea.. Management needs to do something about this because they're not doing their jobs. They're playing around too much. read more

The wait time through the drive thru line is ridiculous. Can't call it "fast" food. Do better.

Second time at cookout in NC and I'm obsessed! Service has been amazing both times. I will say I get overwhelmed with the menu but it's by far my favorite fast food place down there! Their Corn dog, onion rings, and hush puppies are everything. The spicy chicken sandwich was a bit dry, but the flavor was there. Will definitely be back! read more

Food came out hot and good last night with great portions of fries! And the sodas were not watered down. The only downside was that they had no bags and condiments and didn't give me any straws for my drinks. read more

I usually enjoy cookout. This is by far the rudest location I have EVER been to. They cut you off while ordering. When you drive up to the window to pick up your food the employees are vaping while they cook and take orders. You can see piles and piles of trash and debris all over the floor. (I understand back of house can get messy, I've been in the service industry for over 15 years, but there is an absolute limit between it being "rush time messy" and absolutely filthy. Then to make it all better the employees find themselves getting irritated with the guest when the employee made their order incorrect. Someone from corporate definitely needs to take a look at how this location operates. read more

It's cookout, not really much to say, good food and good milkshake. I usually get the Oreo milkshake

It's a great spot for a quick meal. That being said I've been to many a cool out over the years and my fan favorite is the peach cobbler shake. A straw is useless but I still try never the less. This place has outgrown its footprint. The line is long but goes quickly. read more

The food is good if you're lucky enough to get the complete order. They have been out of bags for months now. Carrying the food when you're driving by yourself and have an order for 4 or 5 people is no fun. Some of the staff are outright rude. I'd love to see Cook Out's executive staff silent shopped this store. I think they would have a whole new perspective on the lousy image projected from this location. It seems the company doesn't care about the quality of their product. If they decide to fix it, send the district manager with a s*** load of paper towels, 45% vinegar for cleaning and a checkbook to hire new staff. read more

Never going back. I asked for two hotdogs with just chili. They forgot my hotdog and I went back for it and the hotdogs had onions, clearly asked for chili. Chicken sandwich tasted weird and old, the chicken quesadilla had no chicken !! boycott this cookout !! I've been multiple times and they always mess my order up. Never again! read more

I ate here a few times during my trip to Burlington. Staff are friendly, service is generally quick, and the food is good. I had multiple things - burger, cajun chicken, and spicy chicken, it was all good. Chili on burger was good. Hush puppy sides were good, quesadilla sides were good. Great value for money with how much food you can get with the trays (combos for those not familiar) for not much money at all. And they have Cheerwine. Hooray. read more

DISHONEST, DISHONEST Check your prices, they are charging everybody more money. 20, 30 40 cents more on your orders. For no reason, they will not explain. They will not give me an itemized receipt that is very dishonest and stealing from us. read more

First off to start, rude customer service. I was asked three times what I wanted and each time I got placed on hold after. After ordering my food I came to the window and received my meal. First off I explained to the lady we're missing our chicken nuggets and she got rude saying no your foods all in there, I tried to hand it back so she could see and she refused to look. I also ordered a Carmel fudge shake with snickers and walnuts. Drove off thinking it would be fine and what do you know "PLAIN VANILLA"! This is the worst cook out ever don't ever go. This is the second time they've messed up this bad! I will be writing a bad review on every site possible. Koi read more

Absolutely horrible the food was wrong the food was cold. There are a bunch of kids working there that don't give a crap about anything. If I owed this place I would fire the guy at the window on 4-21 at 8:10 on the right of the building thinking it's okay to yell and b**** at a co worker on the other parking lot right next to the cook out because the wasn't staying late. I would fire him immediately. I will never be coming to this cook out again. I would rather eat crap McDonald's and ramen then go back to this location. read more

LOVE their BBQ. I am a big fan of the BBQ I used to get in Lexington. This BBQ is almost as good, but not the same. It chopped, very lean, not overly sauced. Note: I CANNOT tolerate Texas Pete at all. I can't eat if it has that sauce. The slaw is a good condiment for the BBQ. BUT THE HUSH PUPPIES CAN BE EXQUISITE. They very mild, and usually cooked nicely. My last order was perfection, never had them be greasy. The sweet tea is always fresh. GREAT VALUE lots of food for the money. My family loves the milkshakes & quesadias, but the BBQ is the best. read more

I'm done with this location. Nearly every time I've gone here there's a problem. Terrible service. Good food but a pain to get it.

Ordered a small burger cookout style today and when I went to eat it, there was no burger. It's the simple things folks pay attention.

ALWAYS CHECK YOUR TRAYS BEFORE DRIVING AWAY! Employees are a bunch of stoners who aren't paying attention lol. Always something wrong. Last time we didn't check and opened the trays when we got home, not a chicken strip in sight, just cheese bites and fries lol Great food when you're craving trash late at night but yeah, you probably won't get what you ordered. read more

I really like this local fast food chain. The hamburgers are great, and come with lots of combinations of toppings. I like the Carolina style with chili and slaw. It makes a messy burger but vey tasty. They also have very good iced tea and 40 flavors of shakes. The prices are very reasonable and the service is very quick. read more

We have enjoyed Cookout in Burlington for many years until recently!!!! We have noticed that the past three visits attitudes is all you're getting from here. Tonight was the last for us and some others. No hello, no thank you, and shoves your food out the window. We were shorted some money also, so I called. The manager was rude as well as if I'm wasting her time. She took my name and number and hung up on me before I was done giving her more information. So, I doubt that we will get the rest of our change back. People, Customer Service and kindness is key to any business. Done with this Cookout!!!!! Great place wrong staff!!! read more

Cook Out is awesome. This place is no different. Their BBQ is solid, their burgers are great, and their milkshakes are my absolute favorite. I'm always excited when July and August roll around, because then they bring out the watermelon milkshakes. It may not sound appealing, but trust me, it is the bomb. Especially on a hot summer day. Another perk about Cook Out is you can mix your milkshake flavors. It's genius. And delicious. Just writing about it makes me want to go get some now. One downside is this Cook Out (and most others) don't have any, or have very little, seating area, and if they do have places to sit, it's usually outside. read more

On May 27th I placed my order at Cook Out in Burlington. The vehicle in front of me didn't have a credit card or cash and wanted to use his cell phone for payment. That really slowed down the process also at the window he placed another order. All of this took way over 5 minutes. Came here at night and the workers were extremely rude. The girl taking our order was short and rushed and the workers who handed us our order gave us cups with drink all over the side, shoved our bag and container in our hand, and slammed the drive through window multiple times (the first after I asked for a napkin to wipe the soda off my cups). Not bad...you get your money's worth! We ordered the combo or whatever they call it, 2 hotdogs, 2 sides, and a drink. The hotdogs are good, the onion rings are not good and the French fries are mushy and not crispy. We also ordered a walnut shake and it was so good and full of walnuts. I think it's a vanilla shake and then the walnuts. But it was very thick. My hubby ordered a blueberry shake because I made him order a shake to try and he loved it! read more

Amazing food, idiot employees. It has literally been years since this cookout has gotten my order right (yes I know what literally means). I also understand that it is fast food and I shouldn't expect too much, but Jesus! The Cookout Facebook page won't let me post and cookout has no official website so I will deal with my anger here. I always order the same thing: large out west style cheese burger with no pickles and no onions. Guess what... I got pickles and onions. (Be warned. I am going to post here every time that my order is wrong. I'm not looking for an apology or free food. I just want to go home with what I ordered.) keep an eye on the photos section read more
