There was one person working the counter during lunch hour. Not a huge deal, but there were a few in front of us with more complicated orders. The inside is kind of like a generic cafeteria. Not a lot of decor and not very welcoming... just kind of odd. I got the hummus sandwich with pasta salad. The food was just kind of mid. The hummus was good, but the sandwich didn't have many veggies on it and the pasta salad was very bland. The restrooms here were also kind of grungy. Overall, it was just a very average place with odd vibes. Nothing particularly wrong with it, but I probably wouldn't return unless going with a group who wanted to try it. One good thing is that they do have plenty of vegetarian options and a gluten free menu (you have to inquire about that).

When the hostess said it would be a 20 minute wait I didn't really believe her with the number of people standing around the entrance, but they have their operations and logistics figured out. If you can't tell from the start of my review, we think the Basted Mary is an absolute must order. It is an experience like no other. Both the Mary itself and the meat skewer were flavorful and rich and complemented one another fantastically. The chili fries were not bad, but I would just recommend sticking with the BBQ. Our burnt ends plate was fantastic, and so was the slaw and the okra we got with it. By far one of the best restaurants in the Branson area and a must visit!

The staff are students working to pay for their college tuition so the service was great! The food was good (most ingredients on site also made by students) portions were huge, the price was decent, place was clean and much better then any touristy type restaurant near or on the strip, so much so we came here for dinner 2 nights in a row. The students are so interactive if you ask them questions and they also have the place they are from on their name tags which can be conversation starters. It does take them a little time to get through service so make sure you have a little time to wait. They serve 2 types of bread with bread service and 3 different butters alongside those. The apple butter was delicious. The first night I had the meatloaf which was very good. The second night I had their special for the night which was a stuffed chicken with spinach and cheese, vinegar potatoes and some mixed veggie side that was delicious. There is also a store area where you can buy student made items to take home with you. I wish we had a program like this near us because we would support it frequently. The country fried steak was not tender and too chewy to eat. The corn with cream cheese was just plain not good. Flavors were off. When the server asked how the food was, we were like, "it's fine". We knew that saying otherwise would not be appreciated. Once finished with the entrees, we were presented with a bill. We were not offered dessert or a dessert menu. We thought that it was odd that there were no dessert options here. We paid our bill which had a 3% service charge for credit cards. I knew it was coming but I still don't love this shift in the industry. I wish places would give discounts for cash instead. All and all a disappointing experience and we will not come back.
