Showed up at 7:59AM, one minute before opening. I recognized they didn't open until 8:00AM and was happy to patiently wait in the empty drive through line. Instead, I was told to "circle around again" (why? I don't know). Did as I was told only to come back and see a line had now formed at 8:00AM. Sigh. I would have placed a larger order and spent more money, but after the entire fiasco, I refused to give them anymore of my money than what was necessary. Two things worth noting... the downtown Boise location has THE BEST customer service. Maybe this location can take a queue from them? Very rude woman at To-Go window. I was trying to find my order on the counter when they started asking who the order was for. My wife put it under my name without me knowing so when I didn't find her name right away, the blonde girl with the hat made a snarky remark when I eventually found my order. Dear Panera.... We dine with you at least 1-2xs a week... Never fails... something IS.... ALWAYS missing. I've even called after multiple times of going through the drive-thru and getting home to find key things missing from my order. (When I called- I did speak with a manager- and he was very helpful and even took my information and sent me a free meal postcard) - I totally appreciate this. Tonight- yet again- missing items... like the Egg in my Green Goddess COBB salad. Never. Fails. Usually it's the croutons to the tomato soup.. or the pumpkin shaped cookie. Today it was the egg. This place is highly overrated! for $14.28, I got a very small cup of soup that was pretty much water and half a sandwich, the portion of meat was about the size of a domino. Such a nice location! Both the Interior and exterior were very inviting. I bought grilled cheese and tomato soup, perfect for a rainy day. It was delicious! Chili Chicken Salad was really good, but ordering is a pain. We ordered directly from staff. That area is noisy and I couldn't hear the gal's voice -- I asked her to speak up, but she didn't. I was asked what type of bread I wanted and I said I didn't want any bread. Turns out I could have had an apple. I heard this when my sister was ordering and asked her cashier if I could get a cut apple since I didn't know that I there was a choice. Her cashier asked if my sister wanted to pay for it. She said no, why isn't that free with her meal. She finally figured that out; the apple arrived at my table, uncut. Tables are usually dirty when I get there. Saturday was no exception. Staff near the quick pickup window were yelling and laughing at each other. Rather disruptive while we were eating. Food is really good here. I was there on Aug. 20th. What a crock. I waited 18 minutes in the drive thru. When I finally got there, the person said, " Were really busy. People arent patient." Ummm ok. Why are you telling me this? Then I dipped the extremely hard bread into the COLD french onion soup. I was so disappointed. I called and talked to the manager on duty and he said, " Its always at pot temperature. theres no way its cold" I turned around in the parking lot and took it in. He said, " I see some missing. The half a sandwich was more like 1/4 sandwich. Literally gone in two bites. Rather disappointing. My friends soup had cheese that didn't melt and placed his finger in the soup and it was cold. Cool place to go to for a wonderful healthy atmosphere. Nice that you can order from a kiosk or order from a person over the counter. The papaya tea is awesome, potato soup is great, the French baguette was nice and crunchy but too chewy for me. My turkey bravo sandwich was delicious, loved the tomato basil bread used for the sandwich. Sucks that your view is of Best Buy, would of rather they turned the windows into a way they could change the vie into something else. Food is fresh and healthy. You will crave it even if you don't like to eat healthy. Give it a try and I guarantee you won't be disappointed. read more

Amazing customer service! The gentleman with the beard and glasses who took my order was very nice and helpful when i couldn't decide what to order, he took the time to tell me what ingredients were in each of the most popular sandwiches and then gave me the option of the "pick 2" to add a cup of soup because i was getting a half sandwich, and then the option of a baked item for 99 cents more, which i normally wouldn't, but because the guy was SO nice i did. AND THEN, when i was waiting for my to-go order, there was a gentleman (almost bald, a little on the heavier side) who was very nice to me and asked me my name so he could give me my order when it was ready and even asked if i needed extra napkins. the whole experience was refreshing and i am SO glad they put one in by the mall - when i lived in California i used to eat a Panera Bread EVERY day and now i can again!! read more

Stick to the bread and soups folks. Ordered a hot chocolate and a cinnamon roll: hot chocolate was a tepid glass of sugar. Wasn't drinkable at all. Even my 2 year old said it was "yucky". Cinnamon roll....let's just say I've never seen a cinnamon roll that didn't have a center until today. You can get fresher ones (and better tasting) from any local gas station. I love Panera but today I was really disappointed. I ordered the chicken salad with almonds. What I got was a tomato, lettuce and maybe a tablespoon of chicken salad. It did not even cover the bread. I also ordered a salad but I have not eaten it yet. I usually order the turkey, bacon and avocado sandwich which is so good. I will tell you to go to Arby's if you want a really good chicken salad sandwich. The filling falls out of the bread. They use pecans instead of almonds. Found one of my new favorite lunch places near work that's healthy. On top of it found my new favorite sandwich! The Chipotle chicken avacado melt is amazing, it's spicy and crunch and warm and the avacado and melted cheese give it a gooey feel good element. Pair that with their french onion soup and you have yourself a lunch that almost feels like mom made it for you while you are staying home sick from school. So my sister loves Panera. One day, Indigo and I were out and I was hungry. I'm not really a sandwich person (strictly grilled cheese and pb&j) so I informed the gal working the drive through that this was my first time at Panera and then asked if they had a chicken wrap. Her response came off a touch condescending: No. We have what's on the menu. We can turn any sandwich into a salad wrap. Now, first of all, the menu is massive(the biggest drive through menu I've ever seen) and I didn't want to waste her time by reading every item. And her answer technically should have been yes, we can make any sandwich into a salad wrap, but not a tortilla wrap. I said ok I'll have mac n cheese. And a large water please. She informs me of the complimentary side options, I choose an apple. So I get to the window and pay, she then hands me my Mac n cheese and apple and says "Have a good day" and begins to close the window. I ask for my water before she shuts it completely. If you're going to be somewhat condescending, please remember my water. The only reason I'm giving this 3 stars is because the Mac n Cheese was delicious. Service, needs work. We have been so excited to try the soups. We ended up getting a cup of Turkey Chili and a cup of Potato soup. Neither was worth the money over 11.00 for just little cups of soup. Their food is usually prepared well. The restaurant is usually clean. But too often i come in and they are out of stuff. I like to use the kiosk when I come in and tonight after I placed my order, I was told they were out of the bread I had ordered for my sandwich. No big deal I just had them keep the bread it came on. Then when they brought my order, they were out of the side item I requested, so they gave me half of a baguette (literally) and, without asking, they upgraded my cup of soup to a bowl. I appreciate the gesture. However, bringing me a ridiculously large bowl of soup and half a loaf of bread is overkill. I would have preferred my soup remained a cup and given a choice of the other side options available. Went thru the drive through yesterday and we decided to do one of their family feasts. Now they are a great deal however they were out of Mac and cheese so they gave us a choice of 3 kinds of soup. Ok so we picked broccoli cheddar soup. Get the the window and they are out of broccoli cheddar soup but now we can pick any soup. Nothing really sounded good but we already had been in line for a while and there's really no choice so we got chicken tortilla. They gave us an extra couple cookies. Get home we ended up with chips instead of a baguette and there wasn't even mustard or mayo on the kids sandwich it was lunchmeat and a slice of cheese and dry bread. Had I known that we wouldn't be getting anything we wanted. And I would need to add condiments that weren't included for $35 we would have just stayed home. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. The sandwiches are delicious but way way overpriced for a chain drive through. I got a 1/2 sandwich in the Pick Two yesterday and it was TINY. Like four bites. I paid over $12 for half sandwich and half salad. I can get an awesome meal at a local restaurant for that or less. It also took forever to get through the drive through.
