I just ordered chicken pasta and a Caesar salad and with the first bite I thought "is this chicken even cooked?" It was seemly pink and with the second bite I found a long black hair in it! I was grossed out but respectfully brought it back to the front where I showed the manger. She acted as though it was my fault that the hair was there - she asked me what I wanted her to do about it? I replied - that I just wanted to let her know and that I didn't want a replacement dish bc I was kind of grossed out. She then got rude with me and gave me a credit for the same dish next time- wtf? I won't revisit :( salad was soggy and had no flavor - should've spent 12$ elsewhere. I work in a restaurant and these things happen but not one of my mangers would've handle this situation in this manner!! read more

Super over-priced for the quality of the food. Soup tastes like it came out of a can, and the salad was so-so. The kid's meals are a joke. How can you make a grilled cheese look un-appetizing? Will be finding another go-to salad lunch spot. Ordered through the app for their "rapid pick-up." That was the only thing true about my experience -- it was quick; quickly made and quickly thrown in the trash. I ordered ham & swiss and customized it -- changed the cheese ($1 extra) and the bread - kept everything else the same. They didn't change the cheese and they didn't even put all the things that come on it, on it! The cheese was so thick and smelly, and there was a tiny slice (1) of ham on it. I couldn't taste anything on the sandwich other than the disgusting block of cheese. What's the point of having a customization section if they aren't going to pay any attention to it? If you're going to charge for switching out cheese (which is so ridiculous to me) or any other changes besides adding a bunch of extra stuff, you better get it right. Also got broccoli cheese soup. This location is the worst Panera I have ever been to. It's always dirty and they have the clumsiest servers. The soup always cold and spilled on the sides. Does not feel like a Panera to me. It's a pity that the Hill Country Galleria is an upscale lifestyle mall. read more

I come to this location on a regular basis and don't really have any complaints. But today, when I came in, a lady was sweeping all the dust off the ceiling. She was behind the counter when I came in and I noticed there was a loaf of bread right behind here as she's sweeping all the dust down. But then she moved to where all the customers sit (right next to me :/). Dust was floating everywhere. Needless to say I lost my appetite. Things like this need to be done after hours when food isn't sitting out and people aren't trying to eat. read more

I'm always so disappointed in this location! I was so excited when it opened and have never had a good experience here. Everything from plastic in my sandwich, missing food in our delivery orders, and waiting over 20 minutes for a simple cup of coffee, it seems like they can never get it right! I'm not sure what to think of Panera Bread. It has so much potential. I wish they had healthier, less processed, more vegetarian or vegan options. It's like I want to like it but they just don't do enough right for me. This location especially is disappointing. I've been here a few times over the past year and ultimately I think this store is just badly managed. Last time I was here, I found a piece of plastic in my soup. Our food came out quickly and our order was correct but the plastic was a reminder of my negative feelings overall about Panera Bread. Just went here for a quick bite and the service was awful. The people working are walking around dumbfounded like they are high or zombies. They screwed up the order 3 times, and then when we inquired about the "free treat for incorrect orders" that is CLEARLY stated on the receipt, the server/associate said smugly "really?.. That's very bold of you..." If I heard that as his manager, that would be a FIRE on the spot. For being in such a nice area, they should focus more on hiring professional or at least decent employees. By the way, your tight pants panty line is showing sir... Bad customer service, actually will not go back because of it. Ordered a steak and white cheddar panini, it was the size of my 8 year old daughter's right hand (the whole sandwich). I asked if I got the wrong sandwich and was told that's what I ordered and there would be no refunds or re-orders. Actually was gobsmacked by the manager's response that this was their policy. Here's a tip for Panera: if you continue to treat customers like you treated me you are doomed. My better half was furious about this. She got the same response I got. Wow read more

I typically really like Panera,but our visit this morning was a total miss. We went at 10am Saturday to pick up a bakers dozen bagels for the long weekend. They had almost no bagels on a Saturday morning! Most kinds were completely out and when I asked if there were more in back they said no that was all they had. We ended up buying 4 bagels and then heading down the road to Einstein Bagels instead. Not sure how you don't make more bagels when you start running low. Waste of a trip! read more

would be a 5 star except I saw 3 employees shooting the shit with dirty tables all over the place. for a chain these folks are quick, pleasant, and nice to look at. I think their service comes from having to feed all the folks who work in the HCG. Being able to roll in a couple hours after eating and get a refill on sweet tea for free was bonus. read more

Sad to say, but one of my favorite morning meet-up coffee or internet workplaces is no longer making the grade. The service at the register is just too poor. Maybe they are making a killing on pick-up business and just can't divert focus to customers in the store. Great food everywhere, almost always, for the past five years I've been coming to Panera. This one though, had TERRIBLE service and I had to wait 15+ mins for my food. Finally when I got my order, they had forgotten my latte, and I was rudely told to back up from the counter and wait until it was made. I have tried this specific Panera location several times. Unfortunately it is not up to par. I had lunch there on Thursday around 11a. The staff was friendly enough. I ordered a ceasar salad with chicken. It was not good at all! The chicken was not fresh. The lettuce was not crisp & the croutons were a bit stale. In addition, the restaurant itself was very grimy. The bathrooms smelled & the high chairs were caked with food . Not to mention the bits of food on the floor, against base boards etc. I wish I could say differently but I will definitely not be returning. read more

We each had the buy 2 menu While the soups, especially cheese brocli, and salad were good it was only a small cup The steak sandwich was scorched on the end and had almost NO steak. $16.95 + $2.59 each for a small pastry. It is our opinion that it is grossly overpriced for what you get. We won't be back. Pls, no more gift cards for here. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Frequently when ordering ahead with the app, customizations or parts of my order were forgotten. When I contacted management or used Panera website contact links, I never received a response. These were annoyances but the convenience of ordering ahead when I'm in a hurry means I could cut them some slack here. However, today I did my usual order online and when I arrived a few minutes early I heard the line employees and the food runners commiserating at the pickup counter about customers who were annoying them and how much they hated making custom orders. I also overheard two employees berating another for making a mistake on an order. It's one thing to correct and teach, and another thing to talk down to coworkers in a condescending manner, and an entirely different thing to demean customers who are waiting for food while they're standing in front of you - grow up! This is my go-to lunch meeting spot. The Wi-fi is convenient, the food is healthy, and the service is quick. Also, if you don't see something you want on the menu, ask about it. I'm not crazy about all the breakfast sandwiches, but they will scramble a few eggs a-la-carte if you ask for them, which is just what I wanted. read more

I'm a fan of this particular chain of restaurants, however I always find myself disappointed by the hygiene of the spoons. I once took my spoon and went to the silverware organiser to find a clean spoon and I was SHOCKED to find that most of the spoons are actually worst than mine, some have food stuck to it which was gross. One of the employees offered me a clean spoon and then he said that they have hard water, so I showed him the spoon that had food stuck to it and he was like 'yea you are right,' so he took all the spoons out of my hand and said will wash them. One star is missing because of the spoons part but four stars for their outstanding customer service and the flavour of the food they offer. read more

Decided to return for breakfast this morning after eating here on Saturday morning. Both experiences affirmed my belief that my money is best spent elsewhere. It took 20 minutes for me to receive my strawberry yogurt parfait this morning. I approached the counter at 10 minutes and was told it would be delivered to the table. At fifteen minutes, I still had no parfait and I watched as an employee cleared my order, marking it as delivered from their order screen. Irritated, I approached the counter again, this time to wait for the parfait which was pulled out of a refrigerator pre-made. As I sat down ready to eat, I realized that there were no strawberries in my strawberry parfait. This time I talked to a manager who apologized, but then took another 5 minutes to bring me my strawberries. I will definitely not be returning. read more

Wasted my time driving 30 minutes to come pick up unwanted bread. Called twice to confirm that the bread would be ours. Came in and another customer had picked up the bread. We were supposed to get the bread and confirmed not once but twice. Bread is handed out by signups and not first come first serve. Would've been nice to have gotten a call to say that someone else had signed up for bread for the night. The cashier on duty knew that we called twice and didn't think it was necessary to tell the other customer of your rules for picking up bread or could've given us a call to tell us the situation? This is one of the worst places I have ever eaten in Austin. I came at lunchtime about one or 130. It was pretty busy but not overwhelmingly so. The floors were dirty, the tables were dirty, the bathroom was dirty. I felt icky just sitting there eating. The food was not good. I guess I've had worse but I don't remember when. The over the phone to go order protocol is horrific. You call the phone number given to you on their site, and you immediately get a lengthy recording spouting off information that is completely irrelevant to your reason for calling. Getting an actual human being on the other line often takes 10 minutes sometimes. There is no quick "customer service" option, you have to wait for the recording to finish before even being able to request to speak to a person. Today, I got through a little quicker than usual (5 min), and they immediately put me on hold, finally came back to take my order, and then put me on hold again then HUNG UP ON ME. No attempt to call me back. I almost tried calling again and decided to take my business elsewhere. $9.00 for a small sandwich when you can't even take my order over the phone? No thank you. Also, a different register for to go orders ONLY should be available. I call in my order so I don't have to wait in line. Yet, I still have to wait in line if others are in store, even though I called in and ordered mine before them. It is wrong to assume every customer has the ability to order online. Make the to go system more accessible. read more
