The grape leaves are even handmade, and not out of a can, like so many other Greek restaurants I have been too. The baklava for dessert is a must. The best I have ever had. Not goopy or too sweet. Lots of nuts and very pretty to boot. Staff is great too! Thank you Artemis, we will be back again.

However, I was surprised to see the credit card surcharge passed directly onto the customer. It feels like a sneaky, honestly petty add‑on -- the kind of cost a business should absorb as part of creating a smooth, welcoming dining experience. We were shopping in Bee Cave and got hungry, so I went to Yelp to discover this cute little place. I did learn that they are mainly a "take away" model hence the play on words "picnic" on their name. But there are a few tables and bar counter that you can dine in. We ordered a bit of food- 1. Half roasted chicken 2. Hot wings 3. Roasted Beets 4. Kale side salad 5. Fun selection of NE brand beers! Yes they have wine and unique beer selection there! The roasted chicken was definitely brined- it was super juicy and the chimichurri and salsa complimented it wonderfully. It was explained to me the chicken were free range and how they are raised humanely, reminded me of an episode in a tv series- Portlandia that made me chuckle. The hot wings... Buffalo style but not like at Anchor Bar.. still amazing in its own right. Fresh (I mean there were zero dry spots on carrots and celery and it was crunchy fresh that even me, the non-celery lover- ate 4 sticks with their tasty homemade ranch sauce. (I think it was the ranch dressing bc I literally licked the bowl clean) The roasted beets were served cold with feta cheese crumbles, mint and pistachios. I could eat that by itself as a meal! Yummy! Now, I usually hate kale. Only like it roasted. But I can eat Chicknic's Kale side salad all day long. It contains roasted cauliflower, pickled red onion and a mountain of pumpkin and sunflower seeds! (Maybe that's why I like it so much??) All washed down with a brown ale beer you find in the NE. While we were dining, several people came by to pick up their to go orders and there is a fun freezer where they sell delicious take aways like chicken soup and their famous chicken pot pie, chicken crepes, chicken enchiladas... oh did I mention this is a great place if you're on a keto diet or gluten free restriction?!?? I also found if you follow their Facebook page, you can see new menu items or transparency of how they run their business. What you waiting for? Give this place a try and support local!

As always, the chicken had good flavor, but I cannot keep ignoring the dryness any longer. And with your lackadaisical attitude toward your customers, I am done. A good pie is good even with no meat and no vegetables. Most don't get that. This was a "gluten free" crust. Had I seen that when I came in, I'd have gone somewhere else. Cracker like crust on my pizza is not my idea of good pizza. The crust was thin, and almost crunchy. It honestly resembled the Pizza Hut thin crust pizza. That is, except for the price. I'm now immediately put off because what kinda flavor yall have on your food to where sweet and savory don't go together. So we ordered masala chai, the mango lassi smoothie, breakfast potatoes and bacon. The chai and smoothie were both very disappointing. I love masala chai and drink it often enough to know that this chai tasted heavily watered down even thought it was freshly made. The smoothie didn't taste like mango at all, it tasted like mostly like nothing with a side of banana and oats. I wish they had the ingredients on the menu because my man wouldn't have ordered it if he knew there were bananas in it. The breakfast potatoes were pretty good after adding salt and pepper and the bacon was the best thing out of what we got. It was flavorful. Overall, not impressed with this place.
