Nothing special nothing terrible, exactly what you'd expect from a Panera. Warm sufficient food, acceptable service, not super high priced and nothing wrong with my order. I went through the drive through. Ordered a large soup and got it almost immediately. Soup was warm and I was given the correct side (sounds haha, but I've gotten the wrong side multiple times... aka instead of chips, I'd be given an apple without anyone mentioning anything about it etc). Wonderful Panera experience. Great enthusiastic employees. Place was clean. The restaurant actually had a few lobster items in auburn which were good, like the lobster mac and cheese. It was like the regular mac with lobster meat in it. They also had a couple blueberry drinks that were awesome. I combined almost all of the drinks and teas together, like lemonade and teas. I came to the drive threw for the Bistro French Onion Soup . I asked if the bead bowl contained the cup size or bowl size soup. She said cup size so I ordered the bowl size and purchased a bread bowl. Cheese was already in the soup but the croutons were on the side . Got home . The bowl size was very small ! Went in for lunch today. We were the only ones in line but it felt like we were being rushed to order. I ordered a bowl of soup and a half sandwich. The soup was only filled about a 1/3 up in the bowl and the sandwich had almost no bacon on it. What was served was pretty good which is why I went as high as a 3 star. read more

I have been to several Panera Breads during my travel and this one is no different from a decor and location perspective. This location is adjacent to the Auburn Mall between St. Mary's Urgent Care Center and the Town-fare Tire. The dining area is kept pretty clean, especially in the winter time, with all the snow, salt and dirt tracked in from each customer. This location does have a drive thru which I believe takes as long as it would if you went inside and ordered to go. It is convenient if you prefer not to get out of your car. Their selection of soups is good and I don't see any difference than the other locations I been to. I especially like their sandwiches, the Turkey Bravo, is one of my favorites, and their salads are quite large as well. I had the Thai chicken salad once and I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to finish it all as the to go box was the size of a bento box at your typical Japanese restaurant. Always busy and semi clean. Food is good but pretty small and pricey. We love their unlimited drink program for $9 a month. I haven't gotten help for the last few months of having it, so they told me to just go grab a cup since they don't have them out for app orders. I don't like that it's so impersonal, but I just grab a cup and go. Always check your orders here also, whenever I get food they always forget something. The two times I got the bagel pack for work I was shorted 3/5 bagels, and once when I ordered a soup and sandwich I got to work and only the sandwich was in there. This is by far the worst Panera I've ever visited . the half salad was thrown in the bowl and it was just horrible and the corn soup was even worse, tasted like a metal can. I used to order from Panera often and I typically get the mac and cheese every time I order. I started getting it from the grocery store because most of the times the mac and cheese would be mushy and tacky in store. I decided to try out in store again tonight and once again the mac and cheese is mushy and tacky. Waited in line for 10 minutes. Only two people ahead of me. Woman a the cash register was working her ass off, but the other six employees were doing seemingly nothing. Order was wrong when it came out. When corrected, it was burnt. After nearly 35 minutes inside, I still didn't have food to eat. It was a simple breakfast sandwich. Customer service was nice, the sweet lady at the front was friendly. We weren't happy with the sandwich we received. We paid ten dollars for the Napa almond chicken salad sandwich and basically received two slices of bread with a teaspoon of chicken salad if that. Almond overload. First, I really like the food selections at Panera. I've tried so many really good sandwiches, love the Asiago cheese bagels, and their soups are some of my favorites. I LOVE that they've gone more natural, eliminating additives, etc. That said, it seems that every time we eat at this location, they're out of baguettes (what???), the soup is served barely warm, and/or they don't have all the ingredients to make my soup or sandwich. I have politely registered my concerns ('cause I really DO like the fare), but each time we go back, there's another failing. Management is polite, but something just doesn't seem to click. My wife is ready to give up on this location, but we'll likely give it another shot. read more

I never write reviews but I feel like this time is warranted. I ordered a 1/2 a sandwich w/ an apple and an ice tea. Total was over 11 dollars which was steep for the quality of the food. The bread was stale and impossible to bite through the edges. I had an eye lash on a piece of chicken w/ a hair on the tomato. I did not take it back because I was only on my lunch break and did not have the time. Plus the sandwich was extremely slopped together and almost falling apart before I could even unwrap it. I'm finally getting the chance to write this review because I have encountered many experiences these last few months that have been very disappointing. There have been multiple times where the food has been out of stock and I only find out after already ordering and paying. If I had known this before paying, I would have went elsewhere. I have also had to wait double to suggest time for the Rapid pick-up and when I was waiting in the store, the employees would simply just look at me. Eventually after waiting for 30 minutes past the predicted pick-up time, an employee looked over and told me it had been ready but just had been forgotten to put on the shelf. I ordered two full-sized tuna sandwiches at around 10:30/10:45, and the clerk said to me, "ha ha, you've caught us at a bad time; we're out of tuna." This is the THIRD time I've encountered this problem with them. They cannot think outside the box, and go to (I don't know) Costco or Walmart and purchase tuna until their truck comes. They need to get their ducks in a row. Also, compared with the Panera Bread in Colorado Springs, it's not as clean as it could be. A simple trip to get some dessert with my wife quickly turned into disappointment when we were informed that our favorite treat was a seasonal item and no longer available for purchase. However, the wonderful gentleman at the drive thru window went above and beyond. He apologized, sympathized and was quick to offer meaningful and useful suggestions for other savory desserts. At the window, he further engaged with us in a discussion about how he shared in our disappointment and how much he loved the item that we originally requested. This is the kind of customer service you always want, and is difficult to find in a drive-thru. This turned a possible disappointing experience (and our first at the Auburn location) into a pleasant one, and helped bolster Panera Bread's reputation. First time at this Panera for dinner. One or two employees were working their butts off, the rest were screwing around. Waited in line with a single family of four ahead of me for about 8 minutes. Soup came out lukewarm, baguette didn't come on the plate, no spoon for soup on the plate salad was sad. They seemed to be messing up many orders, at one point I heard someone say they sent Mac and cheese out still frozen. Regional management needs to step in, slow service and employees messing around is one thing, but when you're worried about food poisoning it becomes a health issue. read more

Been here many times over the last few years. Never had any complaints, everything was always fine. Not sure what happened here lately, however, our last couple of visits were sub-par to say the least. Brought my family here today, and we had to go back to the counter 3 - yes, 3 - times for items that were not included (drink cup, fruit cup, and straw for my kids milk box). Was told they were out of fruit cups, but when I reminded then I had paid for one, they just happened to find one. We were not given a choice of side - we were just given the baguette. They were out of two drinks on the fountain (including Diet Pepsi). Fork and spoon buckets were empty. Our grilled paninis were barely grilled and stone cold, stoppings thrown on in gobs rather than actually spread out. When my wife brought hers back, they quickly made her another one- this time burnt, with gristley, inedible chicken and another not-spread-out gob of cheese. To top it off, they were not busy at the time. It's too bad, but with Heidi's right across the street, it's pretty safe to say we won't be going back. read more

Very disappointed in this franchise. In the past month I have gone twice, ordered the broccoli and cheddar cheese soup and have pulled out a long black hair BOTH times. The first time, I brought it to the managers attention he was very kind and replaced my meal. I gave it a second shot yesterday and half way through eating I found a huge black hair. Absolutely disgusting! I brought it up to a different manager and she took my bowl and threw it in the trash before I could even discuss how disgusting it was. She gave me my money back in silence and didn't apologize once. Once is an accident, okay but TWICE in one month. Three of us walked in and have to laugh at how Paneras have consistently good food and consistently idiotic people stationed at the cashiers - today was no exception; who trains these people? Who hires these people? Or does the computer system require an advanced degree?! Confusion and re-ordering went on for minutes, as did us educating the employees on the menu. We went to Lunch today as we were out and about. It was not very busy so we were able to place our order very quickly. I ordered 1/2 of a tomato mozzarella sandwich and a cup of French onion soup. I was told they were out of fresh mozzarella so I said ok to a slice. My husband ordered black bean in a bread bowl. We went in search of a place to sit and found most tables were dirty. We sat at the cleanest we could find. Our food was up in no time, however my sandwich was burnt and my soup was just warm. My husbands was only warm as well. And to top it off we got very flimsy plastic spoons which promptly broke when my husband attempted to eat out of his bread bowl. Very disappointing visit to say the least. read more
