Was looking for an option to lunch and decided to try their flatbread pizza. If all their flatbread was like the pepperoni, then it is no better than a cheap frozen pizza. I even offered my dog a piece and she turned her nose up at it. It looks like it would taste good, but doesn't. Upon turning it over, the bottom looked like frozen cardboard pizza crust. Half of a Mediterranean veggie sandwich, with a summer corn chowder, fresh brewed iced tea, and a carrot cake cupcake. Delicious. I sat down with my iPad to check my email (I was "at work" during this lunch). Hahahaha, anyway. I was the first to arrive so I slid into a booth and waited for my friend to arrive. Used the free wifi -- so helpful! After a couple minutes, she joined me and we went up to the counter. All of the menu items are listed on the wall, as the crowds of people try to read them. A veritable chorus of "go ahead" and "if you know what you're getting then skip us" ensued. So, I'm not the only one to be torn about what to eat here! Yet, with little variation, I always get the pick two combo. They did have an interesting trio of new pastas that I'd like to try at some point. It is wonderful that they put little (v)'s next to the vegetarian food. The broccoli cheese soup isn't veggie, so I appreciated the heads up on that. Black bean, tomato, and the summer corn chowder all are. I recommend the chowder! Service was prompt and friendly. The tray of sustenance appeared down the line once our buzzer went off. Probably didn't need the buzzer since it went off as soon as we walked down to the pickup station. We carried away our treasures and filled our drinks. It's kind of like cafeteria-style, now that I think of it. You also clean up your own table and don't have a waiter/waitress, but thankfully all of the staff was very friendly and helpful even though you weren't tipping them. The carrot cake was really yummy. And I had a coupon for a .99 bakery treat, so it was cheap AND delicious. Double awesome. read more

Went to lunch and was happy to sit outside but once inside between ordering food and picking it up was not a great experience. There was no social distancing in the line to order. Very congested and only one person taking orders. ( Was told this is there policy) Employees weaving in and out, no clear direction that you exit a different door so everyone weaving through the line to get out. Food pickup is at a window where they just place it there. To figure out if it is yours you have to go up to uncovered food and check the receipt. Will not go back. This might have been the norm before covid but they have not done anything to make this a comfortable experience during a time when businesses need customers. Of course a place like this will be busy on Sunday morning but every order we see coming out is wrong! We are in a hurry and my wife's bagel was missing. The counter worker said she put an extra chocolate chip bagel by mistake in the take out bag, then proceeds to take a bagel away. We get in the truck and only have one of two bagels we ordered and paid for. We seen everything from customers complaining they're getting the wrong bread to somebody who ordered an egg and cheese bagel and there's no egg on it. The Panera on Transit Road in Williamsville is the worst Panera in Erie County. Workers were rude and unhelpful, swearing and throwing things in the back. The place was a mess and after waiting over 30 minutes for 2 sandwiches, we ended up leaving without our food. I placed a pickup order on a separate occasion and also waited over 30 minutes to receive it, just for it to be incorrect. You're better off going literally anywhere else. read more

Incredibly disappointed. We mobile ordered our meal, expecting it to take 5-10 minutes to make, like it says on the app. It took more than 40 minutes of waiting for our food to be ready. I've never ever wrote a review in my life, but I think I need to do about this one. I went to this store three times and somehow all orders were made wrong or missing something. I love Panera bread, so I am very very disappointed. The first time, they didn't give me a banquette and I was like it's okay that could happen. The second time, 1 month ago, I ordered the BLT Roast turkey and AVOCADO sandwich. I was going to eat it in my car at the parking, and noticed that they didn't put avocado for AVOCADO sandwich. I went to the store and nicely asked the staff to make another one. The lady made one for me. The third time, today, I ordered the the BLT Roast turkey and avocado sandwich again. The sandwich didn't have any pickles and avocados AGAIN. I almost started thinking that they didn't put it on purpose!!! It is very ridiculous that they forgot putting avocados for a BLT "Avocado" sandwich. They offered me a half avocado (UNCUT) in the cup, and I was like do you want me to eat like this? The staff here is very rude any time I come in after 6 I feel rushed. They don't close until 9pm I came in at 630 and they started closing down the one dining room, they don't close for another 2 1/2 hours. I took my sister here last night for her birthday and we both had Great meals! I had the chicken frontega panini and she had the broccoli cheddar soup and Napa almond chicken sandwich. We both really enjoyed that along with a cup of coffee and the $.99 dessert! Who could pass that up? The orange scones are awesome and the cinnamon bun was to die for! This is your typical Panera. The parking lot is currently under construction (it looks like they are adding a drive thru), so parking is crazy! They have the self-serve kiosks as well as staff to assist with your order. Water cups are behind the staffed registers! It was VERY busy when we got there, and the wait was slightly longer than usual, but absolutely to be expected with the high volume. Our food was hot and the consistent taste you expect. It is on the expensive side for a more fast food experience, but is also a much healthier option, so I don't mind. They have lots of bakery items that are tasty too! read more

I hit this Panera OFTEN. Lunch, dinner, coffee meetings are all good experiences. Even when they are busy they pump food out at a good rate. This restaurant is very clean and WiFi is very fast, even with a lot of people in there at the lunch hour. The cafe team knows the allergy menu well too (since I eat vegan) and was super helpful in pointing me in the right direction. A great Panera location! read more

Stopped in for breakfast with my wife. While waiting in line we noticed the self serve kiosks to place your order and decided to give them a try. Found the interface to be a bit less than user friendly. I consider myself to be tech savvy and am the person that most others turn to with computer and tech questions. Placed an order for two different bowls of oatmeal and two cups of tea, so I thought. Actually only ordered one cup of tea. The oatmeal while good was prepared incorrectly. The menu specifically indicated that the one order would have berries and pecans on it. It came with no pecans which put me in the gauntlet of employees passing me to the next just to get pecans. I was looking forward to a nice cup of hot tea. I had to settle for lukewarm. The Panera dining experience at one time was one that was nicer than most other fast food restaurants. I think that in their attempt to economize and cut back on employees they have lost what they were known for. read more

Went to Panera after many years today. Lunch time so the line was forming at the register. No booths available and a few empty seats- all a good sign that folks readily chose this place. Seems popular but I can't figure why? Ordered a coffee and the "get two" option. I had the "French onion soup" and tuna salad sandwich option. The soup had grated cheese garnished on top, rather than melted cheese, so I wouldn't exactly call it French onion soup. Still it was flavorful, oniony broth with bread pieces in it. The tuna sandwich was served on crusty bread which was nicer than the tuna spread itself. I guess that's what's good about this place - i.e. the pan, the bread. Thus Panera. Otherwise, I don't know what else is really that great. For $11 I could find many other much tastier and satisfying lunch options. I probably will not be back until another few years. Food was not bad. Just not so exciting. read more

Food quality is terrible lately. The one sandwich I got had rock hard avacado on it. The chicken in it was super dry and gross. The soup I had was the chicken and wild rice which is supposed to be thick was super super watery and gross. Not sure why the food quality is getting bad here. I work across the street so I come to this Panera 2-3 times a week. I have also ordered catering from there 4 times in the past year since I have been working in this office. Every time I come the service / food is worse than the previous visit. My last 5 grilled cheeses have all been burnt. I waited over 20 minutes past the time my rapid order pickup was due to be ready. And the last 3 visits they have started underfilling the soup bowls if you get it to go. The catering manager will call on the phone and ask us if they can help with our next "office party" where we spend 100's of dollars but if I go in as a guest the service is horrible and the food is rotting with green lettuce. I had a really bad experience with Panera bread today. Previously, I've had nothing but good experiences. Good food, always on time (for rapid pickup), I've never had a problem until today. While my food was on time, I ordered a full turkey sandwich, baked potato chips and a large chai latte. They gave me half a sandwich and kettle cooked chips. When I told the guy I only got half a sandwich, he was very respectful and apologetic; I even got a free muffin out of it. Cool. They give me the rest of my sandwich and I go back to my seat. This is when I notice the chips are wrong. Whatever, I can deal with kettle cooked chips instead of baked. I open the other half of my sandwich (the turkey one, with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and mayonnaise) and it's literally two pieces of bread and some turkey. No condiments. Are you kidding? I was on my lunch break so I didn't even have time to have them correct it a second time. I just threw it away because I couldn't eat it. Panera, you've disappointed me! This is an update to my recent review. My mother went through the drive through there today and it took 25 minutes for them to even take her order. No one apologized for the wait. They are now only open certain hours certain days of the week because they are having problems with their staff. Panera works for me as a mom this way: 1) I can take my son for breakfast there or just have it alone before heading out anywhere. Starbucks is next to it so i get my coffee from there and sit here to eat and relax. 2) Great place to buy breads after done with grocery in Wegmans which is in the same strip. 3) we usually go out for dinner here in when we want to avoid the busy restaurants with kids. This particular panera has a huge dining table with chairs at center which gives the home comfort and bigger space to dine without anyone's attention. 4) In Veg menu i love the Mediterranean sandwich which is the cheapest sandwich among all . 5) Don't forget to have a panera card in case you decide to eat regularly. Inexpensive, plentiful lunch option when cruising big box retail on Transit Road. I myself am a fan of the You Pick 2 and of the acai berry iced tea. Most of the soups are good (broccoli cheddar my fave), and their bread and cold cuts, etc. are always fresh and tasty. Can't go wrong as far as I'm concerned. I like that they've recently added outdoor seating in front of the building. Just watch out for the seagulls who would love to steal your baguette! HAHA! read more

I'm living now since 2 years in Buffalo but up to today I was never in a Panera Bread. To be honest I don't like to go in such restaurant chains to much. Today I met my wife for a short lunch in the Amherst Panera. First surprise - it was full - fortunately we found a table for two. Second surprise food selection ok and looks good. Third surprise very good organization of the food preparation and forth surprise - really friendly and helpful staff. In our order a cake for my wife was missing and the service guy took care of the issue right away and brought it to our table. For this kind of restaurant type I can give 4 stars - still not my favorite place to go for food - but definitely I will go again for a short lunch break. read more

Better than McDonald's but on par with Cosi- this chain restaurant is comforting because you know what you're going to taste before you taste it. I think panera food is solid; dependable reasonably healthy food. I frequented (5-6 time per month) Panera for lunch at my last job; with this new job not as much. Took my wife out for dinner here tonight and it all came rushing back to me. They always get the order wrong. Order taking is usually ok; but they literally always make the order wrong. Seriously Bacon grill cheese that you "forget" to put the bacon on. One time; that's an accident. But 9/10 times this happens what am I to think? Stopped in here on my way to work. It's nice that they open at 6am! My favorite bagel ever is their Cinnamon Crunch bagel. It has this amazing cinnamon sugar coating on the top that adds just the right amount of sweetness to each bite! Since I ordered my bagel to go, they toasted it for me and then gave me the container of cream cheese to spread on it myself. This is the only reason I don't give 5 stars. It would be better if they put the cream cheese on like the other places do. It melts nicely when the bagel is warm after being toasted. I have always enjoyed this Panera, seeing as for a few years of my life, they greatly took care of me. Even though busy, they usually get through a line quickly. An okay place for your basic soup and sandwich. Someone said their soups come out of a bag. Okay... unless you make it at home or go to a fancy restaurant, it comes from a can or a bag these days, so... gotta kinda deal with it. I would rather come here than McDonalds or Burger King, if I HAD to pick a fast food place. Anyway, I used to do a lot of internet work on my computer (free wifi) and this place was pretty cool for that. I could find a table or corner, set up... eat my dinner and just work. There is one lady there, middle aged, that was WONDERFUL to me.. I think she is still there and it is horrible of me that I can't remember her name. Sometimes, good workers really make a place, and she is one of them. They also didn't mind that during the summer I would hang out on the patio area after they closed to use the wifi. I am a frequent guest and generally like the place. However since the Covid crisis several changes has been noticeable. Coffee is rarely hot anymore and today around 5pm dark roast and decaf were completely out without attracting anybody's attention. The size of some pastries like pecan braid is now a fraction of what it used to be but the price is not. Another issue is that undeterred by the pandemic "students" have returned. I am referring to young people occupying indoor tables spending hours over their laptops mistaking the restaurant for a public library. Several of them were present today, with empty cups on their tables after drinks finished long time ago and kept as an excuse not to bother with face masks for the rest of the afternoon. The food tasted good, varied selection of healthy choices. Last visit was lunch on Saturday. The eating areas were terrible. Tables not cleaned, floors filthy and dirty dishes liked up at the collection areas. No one in 30 minutes I was there did anything to clean the ares. I tried again tonight 12/11/19 to get a whole tuna sandwich on "FLAT BREAD" for my wife. The cashier was pleasant and took my order with no problem. There were two names ahead of me on the order board and my order came out very quickly. Unfortunately, whoever made the sandwich must be illiterate or blind because what I ordered is not what I got {see picture}. This is the third time in the last two weeks that they have screwed up a very simple order. I guess in the future I will have to open and unwrap my orders before I leave the store.
