Almaza Mixed Grill

Amazing food. Awesome portions and presentation. Charismatic and genuine service. Will be back again and again.

Vegetarian Combo and Mujadara plate
Joanna D.

The Almaza Grill menu satisfied meat lovers as well as vegetarians--In fact options were plentiful for each. To start, our group shared the vegetarian sample plate, plus more dawali (rice stuffed grape leaves) and tabouli eaten with a tender pita. Then we followed with a shared entree of BBQ'd chicken and rice while the vegetarian in our group enjoyed the Mujadara plate made up of Lebanese cucumber salad, rice, lentils and crispy fried onions. The flavors were sharp and tasty, and distinctively fresh. The servings were abundant with two of us bringing home food enough for lunch tomorrow. The service was attentive and competent. Almaza is a casual strip mall location but the food is fancy restaurant worthy! I would highly recommend Almaza Grill.

Pita with garlic sauce, Tabouleh side and vegetable rice side

Continuing my tour of restaurants hidden away in plazas - Almaza Grill did NOT disappoint. I came in without any idea of what I wanted and the waitress was super helpful with recommendations. I settled on the 1/4 chicken with 2 sides. You're given a rather large serving of pita bread and their delicious garlic sauce when you sit down. The tabouleh was freshly made. It was marinated just enough where the flavors were perfect and it wasn't soggy. The vegetable rice was filled with green olives (my favorite) and was light and fluffy. I opted for all white chicken, which was so juicy and was just cooked so perfectly. the sides were so big. You'd consider sharing if you had two people. I also ordered a lentil soup with feta to go and reheated the next day was absolutely amazing. I can't wait to go back .

. When you walk in you smell the deliciousness especially if they are roasting chicken at that time! This trip we missed out, shucks! We shared a whole chicken and two sides of your choice. The. Chicken taste very good but the white meat was a tad dry I needed to dip it in the delicious garlic sauce. The dark meat was awesome ( I know dark is always moist) the sides were good! Friendly service will keep returning !

Decided to try this Lebanese Restaurant in a strip plaza on Transit Road in East Amherst. The owner waited on us and was very pleasant. The only trouble was, it was a Friday night and the restaurant got quite busy. Our water glasses never were refilled, a must for me! Now for the food. We ordered the whole Rotisserie Chicken with four sides. Didn't care for the salad or the Baba Gannouj. The bean side dish were average. The Rotisserie Chicken was moist however I think it had been cooked and reheated. The only horrible thing was the rice pudding., which my wife ordered, ate a spoonful and in the garbage it went. I thought the prices were reasonable and the food, with the Lebanese slices, was worth a try.

Tiramisu

This place was on my list of places to try for a long time. When one of my other foodie friends wanted to meet up for lunch, we both almost instantly agreed on going here. The place has good ambiance for both small and large groups. A good variety of food for both meat eaters and vegetarians and delivers on the taste and service. The owner was taking the orders himself and was gracious enough to explain every detail to us. I not only enjoyed my Shakshuka and sofritas (not the Chipotle one) rice but absolutely loved their Tiramisu. I was skeptical to order an Italian dessert at a Mediterranean place but the owner strongly recommended it, so I went for it. Thank goodness I did, because it was one of the best Tiramisu I had had in a long time! My friends tried their cheesecakes but the Tiramisu was the King! Final takeaway, no matter what entree you get, end it with a nice slice of Tiramisu.

Almaza a Lebanese Cuisine

Almaza is actually called Almaza a Lebanese Cuisine now, so when you drive up to it that's what the sign will say. I saw some delicious looking pictures of their food which of course I had to share with my parents. My phone rang a few days later and who was it but my beloved parents wondering if I would be interested in going to try Almaza ?!?! Well of course I would!!! When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Mossa, the young man who is the owner, and seated us at a booth by the window. We were given menus, the kind of menus that make it very difficult to pick. Because well you want to try everything!!! And there were plenty of things to pick from for vegetarian, vegan and meat eaters alike. So it's a good place for eclectic families. We started with the sampler platter of baba ganoush, hummus, stuffed grape leaves and falafel. All of which were very good. But I personally really prefer my baba ganoush to have a lot of egg plant and very little tahini or hummus, and this didn't really have enough for me. Everything else was very good and there was a large basket of pita served with enough that we didn't need to ask for any extra. I ordered a falafel wrap but with yogurt, cucumber and garlic sauce instead of tahini or hummus. It was perfect. There were pickles for tang and the pita wrap wasn't so thick that you had to take some off. If there were tomatoes on it I think it would have kicked it up a notch, but next time I'll just ask for some. I came with seasoned French fries which were a wonderful addition. And a generous portion. In fact I managed to get two meals out of the sandwich and fries. Then one parent ordered the chicken shawarma wrap. It was moist and real chicken, not the sheets of meat that you sometimes get as shawarma. It also came with a generous portion of seasoned fries. The other parent ordered Beef Kafka rolls. It came with a large serving of rice with toasted almonds sautéed onions and fresh herbs. And two dipping sauces. Also very generous portions enough for him to take half home for dinner. Everything was deemed delicious! Finally we earned desert. We had to try the rice pudding because.... Well you have to! And we had to try the sampler of baklava.... Because you simply must! The rice pudding is thick and sweet as opposed to the type in Indian restaurants which is soupier. They also made it topped with shredded coconut. Sweeter than most I've had but good regardless. The baklava was wonderful. It was an assortment including the ones with pistachio and cashews. And the traditional walnut. They were excellent, not dripping with honey and not too sweet just right. A definite take home an extra container or two. The overall experience was really warm and inviting. Moosa has clearly become well loved by the community and I could easily see why. There were people coming in and out getting lunch or eating in, that were obviously regulars. He definitely makes you feel like you belong there with his warm smile and the delicious food keeps you coming back. If you are in the area for sure drop in and have a meal and finish it with some Arabic coffee!!! If you're not in the area... go to the area and try it !!!!

If I could give this restaurant more stars I would. Coming from Toronto with many options of Lebanese cuisine, this is by far the best I've ever tried. I'm pleased to see Almaza dominating the Middle Eastern cuisine in Western NY, as they do an amazing job of presentation & delivery of the taste and flavors in their food. Fady, the owner, is amazing and very warm/welcoming. The food comes out quickly & their naan with garlic dip is to die for. I have tried everything on this menu & there isn't one thing I would change. Overall wonderful & easily one of my favorite places to eat in Buffalo.

Visit my bedroom, you'll get a real THRILL You can bring the tuna and I'll provide the DILL I like to use baby oil and do the windMILL If you really please me, I'll put you in my WILL But if we're talking chicken, I'll only pay the BILL If it tastes so good it gives me a CHILL You won't understand this ecstasy unTIL You try Rotisserie at ALMAZA GRILL! WHAT! I came here looking to buy an Alpaca. After all, it's called Alpaca Grill. They don't sell any. False advertising. Ridic. Still one of the very best restaurants in Western New York, some of the best value too, best chicken, best sides, not to be confused with my tremendous side b**ches, which are not as tremendous as Barbi. What to get: Quarter/Half/Whole Chicken with Sides - Kofte too - incredible smoothies Which sides: Babaghanoush, White or Yellow Rice, Beans, all amazing. What else: I kneeled down in some Lebber, and now I have Lebber Knees. Almaza is one of the best & most underrated restaurants in the region. I came here looking for the Alhambra. But it's in Spain. Granada of all places. And no, it's not in St Vincent and the Granada-ines either. False advertising. WTF. Sorry WNY, but some of these reviews are utter rubbish. Typical WNY (or anywhere these days) to get top notch 5 star affordable ethnic perfection and then slam it with moronic misinterpretations of the food and false assumptions so robust that they could be in porn without even taking viagra. The Lebanese rotisserie chicken here is divine. Service is lovely, prices are pretty damn cheap for what you get (and how good it is). It's healthy, clean, spacious; a gorgeous spot for dining. Mid-East rotisserie chicken is different from the Latin kind. Not better - similarly wonderful - but differently spiced and exciting. Only Niagara Cafe makes good (Puerto Rican) rotisserie in WNY. But now it has a true rival for taste. And the garlic sauce is a *must*. And try a Smoothie! Not too sweet, refreshing, perfect! Kofte Kebab is excellent too, but start with the chicken. People don't know it exists (still, scandalously), so get over here and discover it and be a pioneer. A poultry pioneer. Rather than a paltry pioneer which means you suck at Yelp pioneering and probably just try breweries that have 1,500 reviews already and eat their crappy $13 Duck Fat Fries that are served lukewarm. Don't sleep on the sides - literally, you'll get crap all over yourself. The Babaghanoush: creamy, tasty & comes with bready Lebanese pita. Beans are even better. Spiced, wet, dark, hearty, healthy, wonderful. The salad is good Lebanese-style, but the rices are unmissable. Yellow rice has peas & olives in it. I love it. White rice has little Lebanese vermicelli noodles. It's moist & ridiculously tasty. Your main problem is which sides to skip. They're all ridic good. Came here looking to get pasta "Aldente." They don't even do pasta... what the actual poop? Rant time. As I said, it's always empty. Yet, they did everything right. Affordable prices. Lovely decor. Great service. Spectacular food. They even contacted Yelp to set up an event upon opening, I think. And despite all this, day after day, they're completely empty. Maybe "it's the location", it's tough for ethnic restaurants along Transit (just ask Grill Kabob), but nearby Zoe has bland overpriced Americanized awful Greek food that isn't Greek, yet is packed every day, and several clueless Yelpers think it's actually decent. Their fanboys are here writing low-star reviews of Almaza saying how much "better" Zoe is. Seems legit. I know employees and a chef at Zoe anyway and trust me, I wouldn't ever go near the place after my discussions with them. Another rant: they were called "Taza" until a restaurant of that name in Cleveland threatened to sue. Why? Small business owners should stick together. But whatever. But in summary, try the chicken, baba, garlic sauce, beans, both types of rice. The food here is among the best of the region. But it may not last, and that's a miserable testament to E Amherst, to WNY, to all the regulars at Chipotle, Five Guys, Zoe or the newly-opened local chain D'Avolio nearby, which is good, but not Almaza level good. Have those regulars tried this place? Will they? If it closes down, will they care? Does anyone? And I came to watch "Aljazeera", but they weren't showing it. Should have gone to "Aljazeera Grill." If you sneeze in here, expect them to say "Almazeltov." I don't think they're Jewish, but when the chicken is this good, the Middle East doesn't need Peace Talks. It just needs a "Peace Meal." Not Piecemeal Bacon though, because that's pork, and, well, you know. This chicken'll make pacifists out of all of us. Now let's finish with some rap... Brazilians SAMBA And sometimes eat GUAVA Russians wear PARKA And smuggle dat VODKA Alanis did DOGMA Cass Elliot was "MAMA" Cobain was in NIRVANA Shoulda quit & joined ABBA (And recorded in a SAUNA) I'm a b*tch, call me KARMA High on MARIJUANA Erup

The food is of very high quality however I ordered baklava to go and was extremely disappointed. For $8 was given two bite sized pieces. They should be embarrassed to even have given me that. Maybe the owner instead of being on his phone and watching TV should take more pride in his deserts

There are posted signs at the register that a surcharge of 3.5% is added unless you're paying cash. I'm looking forward to returning with my family for their lentil soup, fattoush salad, babaganoush, and hummus. Chilled beverages and tea for purchase; no alcohol allowed on the premises. Very family friendly.
