This place is pretty damn close to perfect! Went after reading a post that they had vegan options. To my surprise a lot of the dishes can easily be modified to vegan. We had the Maza plate which is a beautiful, and filling, sampler platter as well as the fried cauliflower which was so light and not greasy and finally of course falafel. I have eaten a lot falafel in my life but none compared to this. It was so moist and flavorful. The big kicker was that they have a vegan dessert, rice pudding! I have never had Mediterranean food so fresh with so much flavor. We ordered hummus with pita, absolutely delicious. I have no idea how they make their pita bread but it was by far the best I've had. We had an eggplant appetizer with arugula, goat cheese, and a special sauce. It was delicious as well. This was all before our main courses arrived. We all ordered different dishes that did not disappoint. We felt as we hit a goldmine! We will definitely be eating there in the future. I used to eat at the falafel bar that was around over a decade ago and was great. This was pretty awful. The Greek potatoes were extremely undercooked and very salty. And the wraps are served on tortillas here? Absolutely wild that they're not on pitas. The falafel didn't taste fresh and was super disappointing. Stopped by the summer on my birthday for a late lunch with my mom. The food was good! I'd been to the older location that was near the corner of NFBLVD and Sheridan a couple times before, but this was my first time at this location, which used to be another establishment I enjoyed. The service was good. The decor was nice. I had the chicken shawarma platter with chopped salad and majadra rice. It was delicious and very filing. I enjoyed it and would order again. My mom got a greek salad and added chicken, she said hers was good as well. I have always loved this restaurant and last night wasn't anything different! I met up with some friends who had never been, and they loved it too. The waitress was so friendly when we arrived and seated us even though our party wasn't complete. The restaurant itself is small and so cozy, and decorated to emphasize this. The water on the table was served in wine-style bottles and it was very classy! I ordered the Falafel Combo and some za'tar fries, and it was delicious. The Greek salad was so fresh and crisp, the hummus was good and served with a basket of warm pita for the table. I thought the star was the falafel itself though. Crisp on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside, it was perfect. The fries were great too, and they weren't shy with the za'tar seasoning. The majadra and saffron rice are great, but I like the saffron rice a bit more. As far as maza, I loved the tabouli, hummus, and baba ganoush. The brik was ok. The burning eggplant is delicious but the skin was inedible. I'm also not sure if they still use tortillas for their wraps. I wanted a vegetarian dish for lunch yesterday and found OR by Falafel Bar here on Yelp. I saw that there were some negative reviews from years ago. However, most of the few recent reviews were enthusiastic about the food, so I decided to give them a try. The room was clean and pleasant, the service was excellent, and the food was outstanding. Immediately upon entering I was greeted and seated. My request for a particular table was honored, extra place settings were cleared and I was presented with the menu right away. I had the lentil soup, falafel small plate, and a side of saffron rice (also ordered a fried chicken cutlet sub sandwich to take home for my husband.) I have soup frequently, and let me tell you, that lentil soup is one of my favorites ever! The falafel was also delicious, and the large portion of saffron rice was perfectly cooked. My helpful server appeared at exactly the right moments all during my lunch. The take out chicken cutlet sub came with perfectly cooked fries and was still warm when I got home a half hour later. My husband loved it! This place is easy to miss when you drive by, so keep an eye out for it and don't miss this jewel. read more

It's a bit small inside, but they do take reservations to accommodate larger parties. I'm always on the lookout for authentic Mediterranean food and this spot fit the bill. The menu was slightly different from what was featured on their site - there was a couple more wraps available. I decided on the shawarma wrap thanks to the recommendation of the server. It was yummy with the tender chicken and fresh veggies; however, my favorite is the Three Sisters, which I had from their food truck. I asked if I could have the zaatar seasoning added to the fries, but it was a $1.50 upgrade. Personally, I think that's a bit too much. I ate an appetizer, a kebab and dessert in one seating. Food was really good. The falafels weren't full sized like I'm used to but they were great with tahini sauce! I decided not to finish them so I can have room for the lamb kebab. I had the lamb kebab cooked medium with majadra. The majadra was okay but the lamb was chewy and juicy! And the grilled purple onions (I love onions) were grilled nicely. Now for dessert. I was full but didn't care as I wanted more. The rice pudding was in a warm beautiful mug and good end, though I wish it was warmer. Oh and the falafel and lamb kebab came with pita. The guys at work wanted something different for lunch so I stopped by and ordered two falafel wraps and a beef shawarma. One of my co-workers is Lebanese and was expecting to be mildly disappointed due to his background when I called him from the lot and told him where I was getting food. We had no idea what we wanted - so I left it up to the big guy there to suggest for me (who I assume is the owner). LOL This place is found gold. Now, it does look a bit suspect on the outside but don't let that fool you. It's cozy, quiet, and well maintained inside. We are so impressed. We came in last night for an early dinner and we greeted by a delightful young gal, the owner's daughter. Everything was fresh and beyond delicious. We started with the maza (starter) trio. You can pick 3 dips from a long list. The tabbouleh was fantastic - the best we have enjoyed in WNY. The babaganoush was smoky and scrumptious. And, the hummus was smooth. We got a wrap with French fries - they came out pipping hot! And the chicken shnitzel platter with mujdara (rice & lentils with cinnamon) and Israeli salad...so so good. We decided this spot will be a regular rotation in our restaurant list now that we know how delicious and fresh it is. I've been here twice now, once for brunch and most recently dinner. All of the plates are presented beautifully and the food is fantastic. Excellent quality at reasonable prices and plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options as well. I eat pretty much everything. But my brunch buddy eats mostly gluten free and my friend who I met for dinner here is a vegetarian. It was nice that they had so many options and that everything was labeled in the menu. For dinner, Siri and I shared four starters, the Brik, Burning Eggplant, FalaFel with Tzatziki, and the Zaatar Fries. In addition to our choices, there were plenty of other vegetarian options as well. I loved the Zaater Fries and I don't typically like seasoning on fries. Siri's favorite dish was the FalaFel with Tzatziki. The Burning Eggplant was even better as a brunch special as it came with a poached egg, roasted garbanzo beans and tomato. The dinner version was still good but the breakfast platter was incredible. Both had a wonderful, smoky char. My brunch buddy, Donna had the potato pancakes, although we each shared our dishes. We also ordered a side of home fries which were fine but not as impressive as the dishes. They had a seasoning I didn't really care for unlike the delicious Zaater Fries which were topped with a tzatziki creama. The desert menu is small; rice pudding, baklava, and one or two other items. Everything was excellent. The menu is clearly labeled with vegetarian options and the online menu explains that everything vegetarian is vegan unless dairy is in the description. The pictures don't full capture how enormous the food is. We ordered all mezza - falafel, cauliflower, burnt eggplant, and brik. The cauliflower and eggplant were absolutely huge and the two of us could not finish it all. Perhaps the giant basket of pita put is over the top. The pita was the one bizarre aspect - it appears to be one giant piece of fresh beautifully charred pita on top of a basket of toasted commercially produced pita. When we first sat down to dinner, I was disappointed that the classic falafel wraps from yesteryear were not on the menu but once I saw the food on our table, there was no room for disappointment. Besides, the lunch menu has wraps and sandwiches. Restaurant space is cute with romantic lighting, camels stenciled on the wall, and pictures of spices and flat breads. Overall a great experience. This is probably my favorite Mediterranean place in town. I came here because Jamie suggested it a while ago and I've never known her to give me bad advice, so I obliged. We arrived on a Saturday evening without a reservation and still got seated promptly. This might be different if you come on a Saturday evening when there's no Bills game so do check in advance. They do have a TV in the seating area though, so we could still catch a bit of the game. We ordered four different appetizers to share between the two of us. We got Brik, falafel, burning eggplant and zaatar fries. Brik is a potato filled fried roll with parsley garnishing that is definitely made on the milder side of the spice level. This made me ask the waitress for some additional paprika and while we were talking she mentioned that I could get a side order of their special hot sauce and I said yes. The hot sauce was pretty spicy and exactly what I needed to make the dish scrumptious. Burning eggplant had this distinct charred taste which I loved. The pine nuts and tahini made the flavor even better. Zaatar fries are seasoned with the herb zaatar and some dressing (probably tahini) which made them so flavorful that Jamie ended up loving it the most out of all the things we ordered (and she's not really a fries person). My favorite by far was the falafel with tzaziki sauce. I have had falafel in so many reputable places and this one still stood out and reminded me of the pretty authentic ones I had in NYC. The food overall was very satisfying and their way of labeling every dish with vegan/vegetarian/gluten free makes it very easy to pick what you want to eat. We decided to try this place recently while we were in the area. I was happy that the menu was labeled with vegan/GF options. We started with the baba ganoush which came with pita/naan bread for dipping. I verified with the server that everything I ordered was dairy-free/vegan. Sad to say, I was sick later that night, which means there was most likely dairy in the pita/naan. Despite that, we both enjoyed our food at the time. My boyfriend ordered the chicken kebabs with rice as his side. He said the rice was very bland. I ordered the falafel combo which was tasty and got a side of majadra which was sadly lacking the carmelized onions which make the dish; without them it was very bland. The hummus and greek salad that came with the falafel were tasty, but again, the pita/naan must have had dairy in it because I was sick later that night. I love that the menu was clearly labeled, but there's a disconnect somewhere between when the food is ordered and VERIFIED as dairy-free and when it is served with dairy in it. Perhaps a menu update would help with some of those issues if items are now being made with dairy that are claimed to be free from dairy. As it stands, when we want Middle Eastern food, we'll go elsewhere. read more

My kids also had their first taste of the infamous Loganberry (diluted with ice so it was not as sweet as I remember it to be). The owner stop by to see if we wanted to try something spicy. We started to say no at first since the kids can't eat anything spicy but he offered a dip that's really like salsa but with a kick. Boy were we glad to get a taste of it - we tried some in the eggplant pita and dipping it with the fries and falafel - amazing!! Beautiful interior, and delicious food - this place is a keeper in my book for a good time. I loved this place! I came here for lunch on a Tuesday and it was delicious! I ordered a chicken shawarma wrap and it was enormous. The chicken was crispy and delicious and there was vegetables and sauce and hummus on the wrap. It was really really good. Price was a bit steep for lunch ($13) but it was so much food I ended up taking the other half of the wrap home and had it for dinner. My lunch also came with fries, they were basic thick cut French fries and were served unsalted, so I added the salt when they came to my table. Service was pretty good, but we should have advised our server that we were on break at lunch and needed to be in and out in a hustle. Glad I came back and gave this place another try. While I was underwhelmed the first visit, I really enjoyed my second meal here. My husband and I came for lunch this time, and both got wraps. He had the falafel and hummus wrap, and I had the lebaneh wrap, which has falafel, eggplant, tomato and lebaneh, a thick yogurt. The wraps were big, and came with fries. The portion size was large enough that I could have stopped and had leftovers for later, but I didn't want to because the food was delicious.
