We have enjoyed their olive oils and vinegars since they first opened their doors in Lewiston several years ago. This was our first time at their restaurant and they did a nice job. The menu was adequately diverse, and they have you mark your order right on it up with an erasable marker, which is efficient. The burger was surprisingly good, the salads were nice and the coffee was quite good. Our server Jenna was attentive. The ambience was casual and pleasant. This place is worthy of future visits.

Service was excellent, quick. Pizza was tasty - delectable crust! Of course we had to buy some oil and vinegar too! Milanese Gremolata oil and Sicilian lemon are my fave!

We have purchased D'Avolio olive oils for years; it's very good with a nice variety of oil and vinegar. The oil choices are from mild to robust and like the vinegars, some are infused with herbs. It's helpful that our health insurance plan allows this as a heart healthy purchase. They wrap the bottles purchased in tissue paper and place in a sturdy handled bag. As for the food, it's very good! From the sandwiches to the pizzas, always a delicious meal. However, ordering is kitschy with a laminated menu presented to you with a dry erase marker for you to circle and check your choices. This is table service. Also the atmosphere at the East Amherst location is cold and loud; metal rafters make lousy acoustics. It's hard to chat over the music. It's also on the pricey side, especially if you order a libation. But good food is expensive. If you would like a tasty sauce, the red sauce to go is excellent. In fact, I prefer to order online and pick up.

Great place to get dinner or to relax at the bar. The place is smaller than their other locations. But the layout is perfect for them. You have a small area to purchase oils and other food items. Then you have the dining and bar area. Order at the register and you choose your own seats.

This was my first time visiting the D'avolio on Transit (I've been to their downtown location before it closes as well as their Williamsville location and all are very consistent food wise). I love the antipasto plates so much. They're delicious. The food is all great and their oils are my absolute go to.

One of the best places to customize your own salad, antipasto, sandwiches, or pizza with a wide variety of options. Good quality food and in sizable portions.

Came here with Miss Jones. She ate a *lot*. By the end of the meal, you could say it was a case of The D'Avolio In Miss Jones. I have to be honest and say that I think this overpriced little sandwich and salad shop is a little overrated. On the other hand I can see why everybody loves it. The decor is really beautiful and Italian and rustic and they do sell a lot of very interesting and original olive oil and salad dressing inventions. I definitely support the concept of the business, I just wish that the prices were a little lower and the portions were little higher, and that Yelp and WNY people were a little more level-headed in their assessments. Because you have people that refuse to try all the amazing sandwiches and holes-in-walls that I have discovered over the years, but they will enthusiastically tell you that this, which is good but not spectacular, is the greatest thing they've ever eaten. I'm not sure if it's about there being no accounting for taste, or rather than people just wanted to stay inside their box. Whatever. New paragraph. So the meatball sandwich went down very well with the people at my place, although I thought it was just okay. The salad wasn't great according to anybody that had a little bit. Mostly it was for me. One of the main problems was that they were too small for the price, and too expensive even if they had been much larger. But another problem was that the only give you a very limited number of ingredients, and if you surpass that you start getting into all kinds of additional charges. With these base prices there is no need to be giving additional charges for anything to be honest. One good thing was that the daughter of the owner was here when I was here. We had a long discussion and she was the reason why I got all the stuff that I got - she's a real sweetheart. So that's my favorite thing about a restaurant, and that's probably a testament to me more than it is anything else. If the owner is reading I apologize. If the daughter is reading, Call Me Maybe?

Salad with romaine, chicken, tomato, spicy broccoli, and asiago! Yum

I am updating this review because of the bad experiences the last few times. The service is slow and visiting on lunch I am short on time and now they will not let you call in your order ahead of time. It shouldn't be that hard to prepare a salad so it may be that the servers aren't that on top of things. Also the last 2 times they were out of the plain balsamic and many of the flavored oils. I like mixing up my own dressing and both times was forced to choose from the pre-made flavors that I did not like. I hope they can get it together soon because the food is very good. Love the new restaurant that I've been waiting what feels like forever to open! I knew the food would be amazing just like the other locations and it did not disappoint! The salads are so good and so huge I get atleast 2 meals out of them. I love that everything is customizable so you know you can always get exactly what you want and you don't have to feel bad for it. The place has a decent amount of seating and has indoor or outdoor which ever you prefer. The owner was also there and greeted us as he walked in then also came out to see how the food was which was a nice gesture. Next time I'll get the pizza (which you also create yourself)This place is close to work and I know I'll be visiting often!

Half of our group (was a total of four of us) enjoyed their food. The restaurant was clean and bathroom smelled very pleasant. Pricing was fair for what was enjoyed. The focaccia bread was the star of the show for me. My guests enjoyed the shrimp scampi, but felt the portion was small and the salmon was delicious. I did taste a piece of the salmon and was jealous as I can confirm it was delicious...wonderfully seasoned and perfectly cooked. Con's: The other half of our party did not enjoy the food. Unfortunately, I was in that bunch. It was quite surprising as the menu is not robust at all; so our thought was that the items that ARE on the menu must be a delicious specialty. I had the pork chops with pasta and spinach. The pork chop was tough and the pasta was bland. The sauce that accompanied the meal was tasty and moved the overall meal from a 'no', to an 'ok'. Won't be back, but encourage you all to check them out as the other half of our table truly enjoyed their meals.

I got the chicken cutlet - vodka style and it was delicious. A little bit on the thicker side but not lacking in crispiness at all. Really large portion size too. The vodka sauce was also very creamy and flavorful and the pasta was cooked nicely. The filet was cooked perfect and the mashed potatoes were outstanding. The stuffed banana peppers were definitely a stand out here, never had a stuffed pepper that had such a smooth filling. Can't wait to come back here.

The servers were also very nice to us, we had a very gentle, knowledgeable and kind server who took over our table from Siena (I forgot the name of our actual server, but both her and Siena were great. She knew a lot about all dishes). Very cozy and beautiful restaurant. My only problem was that I tried to go in to use their WiFi and get some work done at 4:30pm (my reservation was at 5) and they didn't let me, although the restaurant seemed to be ready and the host was the one kicking me out. I wish they could've accommodated my request so I didn't stay outside in the 0 degrees cold at that day. But food, servers, location and atmosphere are 10/10!!!

After a wonderful lunch of grilled eggplant, salad, and a glass of chianti, I made reservations for the evening for my family and friends who were in town for the games. Dinner did not disappoint! Service was excellent, drinks well made, and an assortment of appetizers (the ahi tuna, lamb lollipops were especially outstanding) kept the table busy while we discussed the days game against Marist. The staff made me feel like I was back in Italy! We were treated as one of "the family," and no one felt rushed! There were 7 of us and everyone's meal came out uniformly excellent! The boys had double filet mignon's which were perfectly grilled, the Salmon piccata was amazing, and the pasta dishes were outstanding! As we drained a second lovely bottle of chianti, the owner came by and was kind enough to recommend a bottle of his personal favorite red, which it turned out paired perfectly with our meals! Trattoria Aroma, with its food, wine and warm hospitality is as close as you can get to being in Italy while still in Buffalo! Many thanks to the owner, who we eventually talked into sitting with us and sharing stories of our Italian families over expresso!

"Just Terrible" Cheese and Pepperoni Pizza…read more I know I've had pretty good "specialty" pizzas from Just Pizza in the past, but the time being now and the pizza being the basic cheese & pepperoni, I'm honestly struggling to remember a worse pizza that I've ever had in the Buffalo area. I'm a huge fan of pizza. If you could buy jerseys of your favorite pizza players, I would have several of my favorite pizza's home, away, Sunday and throwback jerseys. But I certainly wouldn't care to ever cheer on another Just Pizza cheese & pepperoni pizza again. It was pathetic. The sauce tasted like it was merely tomato paste. The cheese/topping was flavorless and gagging. The dough was like chewy cardboard, and not even the good kind of cardboard either; I wished it was a nice, tastier corrugated fiberboard, but it tasted more like waxy, paperboard carton like the kind milk is sold in. I would rather buy a piece of pizza from a vagrant under a bridge that he prepared with ingredients he found during his hobo adventures, and he cooked with fire from burning garbage, than eat Just Pizza cheese & pep again. If Sponge Bob Square Pants opened a pizzeria under the sea, literally, I would rather swim straight down to the bottom risking "the bends", only to wait in line behind pushy clams, starfish and octopi (octopi or octopuses?) to grab a slice of that soggy, salt-watery pie than eat Just Pizza cheese & pep again. I would rather eat pizza from Casa Di Pizza, even if their entire staff was diagnosed with hepatitis, tuberculosis, bronchitis, rabies, scurvy and typhoid fever, and after they all stood in a circle and sneezed on it repeatedly, than eat Just Pizza cheese & pep again. Switching gears back to seriousness I'd have to say that the caliber of company that the Just Pizza cheese and pepperoni pizza is in would be elementary school pizza and the free lunches pizza you can get at a playground during the summertime in the city. All three of those pizzas are spiraling to the bottom of the rankings in my mind. Moreover, it almost seemed like Just Pizza knew how bad that their cheese and pepperoni pizza was, but purposely made it worse to tank it to the bottom of the rankings like they were trying to earn a shot at having Connor McDavid or Jack Eichel flip pizzas for them next year.
