Ok, I know it might be strange that a grocery store's bathroom inspired me to write a review but it did. Seeing the free diapers and wipes plus the step stool by the sink for children reminded me that at Wegmans customers truly matter. Walking around this store employees greeted me with smiles and a hello or a hi. The cahier was very pleasant and helpful. Wegmans produce outstanding and they kept items in stock that you can't find elsewhere plus their Wegmans brand products are great. Gotta love the BILLS store within the store! It's Friday night, both my wife and I were working late and we needed something quick to grab for dinner! Wegmans sushi was my emergency chute! I picked the crunchy California roll and we both enjoyed them! I am a big wasabi fan and always load it up on my sushi . Beautiful store with everything I needed for my visit. Prior to this trip, I'd only ever been to Wegmans locations in Maryland. What a treat there are so many in this area! This store is well kept and has plenty of parking available. The layout of the store is easy to navigate, and one could easily spend hours just perusing the aisles here. I got fresh sushi, avocado rolls, seaweed salad, cheese sticks, prebiotic/probiotic beverages, unique granola bars, and desserts for my visit. I'm not usually one to post or review any Wegmans, as I shop there pretty regularly. I was in this past Saturday , early morning, prior to when the Wings Bar was open. As I happened to be check out something near the pizza section of the store, Andrew one of Wegmans employees asked if I needed any help. I mentioned about looking to purchase a few chicken wings, as I'm not a fan of chicken wings, except for Super Bowl. Turns out Andrew, was there Chef, and was extremely helpful and kind...made me two chicken BBQ wings. They carry a great variety of prepared meals, ready to cook meals, and everything else you would expect from a grocery store. A few years ago I even got my bridesmaids bouquets from the floral shop here. The florist was nice, easy to work with, and worked within my budget. I live pretty equal distance between this Wegmans and the one on Transit, but always seem to go to the one on Transit. Well, this evening I was passing this one on the way home and stopped to simply pick up some chicken wings but ended up wandering the store for a good 30 minutes! I couldn't believe how much more of a selection this Wegmans had! I always thought it looked smaller but no way .. it was much bigger! They have literally everything you can think and stuff you've never heard of, catering to all ethnicities as well! I felt really inspired to cook so many different things! My boyfriend is a really great cook and adventurous in his pallet as well and im excited to bring him here and show him the selection. I also like how the Buffalo and Buffalo Bills gear is set up in a way that looks like a little shop, instead of hanging up in the aisle on the way out like the other wegmans, where I never stop to look other wise you're standing in someone's way trying to exit the checkout area! Oh Wegmans. I used to be enthralled with Wegmans until they began to focus on things other than groceries. I know, you want to stay relevant and in step with the target market audience. The concept of a Pub at the grocery store seemed to be a good idea in Canandaigua but definitely not East Amherst. There are special parking spaces for the pub or now take out or catering pick up. Navigating the exterior is clumsy at best and handicapped inaccessible at worst. If you park on the side of the building, you MUST navigate curbs. And a skinny tiny path of sidewalk in the pub side of the building. Then the noise, noise, noise, noise. Do we really need a rooster crowing in the produce department? Next to the sushi prep people and their music, and the music overhead and the contests and spinning wheel at the front of the registers? Those poor pharmacists and techs! Forced to hear this mishmash of sound waves while trying to communicate with sick people on the phone or in person. The cheeses have been secluded to the time out corner in the very back corner of the store. You must pass the beer department with their own theme going on. Open the dairy door and BOOM the stockers music blares out. There is a lot of floor space devoted to things unrelated to food, and it can be a challenge getting through the aisles. I don't mind many store brand items but I do mind not having a choice. Many items seem to have vanished and replaced with W Brand. Honestly, I'm spreading the grocery bag swath to include competitors these days, and I never imagined I'd say that. read more

If you bring your dog here, it's Wagmans. I'm still not a fan of this Wegmans and I still don't think they have very good employees but I do like that they have a microwave which I can use and I have used on several occasions now and it's fairly conveniently located, with plenty of seating upstairs and a little downstairs, to enjoy your microwaved stuff, although the seating is too cold. I like that nobody gives me funny looks or asks me any questions even if I'm eating outside food without shopping, so I have to bump them up a little bit for that. They also have a great International aisle, much better than the smaller or non existent ones at the other WNY Wegman locations, although it's sometimes not very well-stocked with the British stuff and it's way way way expensive. Still, it's not quite the 1-star sh**show that I said it was because of the lady who came out and yelled at me about parking on several occasions when Julie was just out of Hospital, and because of the nightmarish tangerine incident... which is below. My original review still stands though... this is why they had 1 star originally, and why I continue to keep them as a 2: Wegmans is actually a mis-spelling of "Wigmans", which is named after a lot of bald men that do not like appearing bald, and so wear wigs. They were the founders of "Wigmans" now known as Wegmans, and that is why when you first walk into the store, there are pictures of lots of men in wigs adorning the walls. Never noticed that? Check it next time you walk in. New edit: Still one of my fave stores to shop in, but customer service is simply shocking. I bought a $15 tangerine juice (don't ask, I just like it a lot. Freshly squeezed). Opened it within 5 mins of leaving the store. Drank a bit. It was spoiled. Sour. Extremely bad. I felt sick. Tasted nothing like it usually does. Went back in. "Sorry it's after midnight, we don't do returns now." OK. Went back the next day. "Sorry we have no record of you ever being a shopper here." Um, I used this shopper's club card to buy this, and about 1,000,000 other things in the last 5 yrs. I have 57 check ins on Yelp, look, I can show you. "Sorry we have no record of that." This was just last night. Here is the receipt. "Well we can't give you cash back for this. Sorry, but there is no way to prove you are a regular shopper here, your shopper's club number says you haven't used this card in 7 years." Um... I use it 3 times a week. "Sorry, it is coming up saying that you don't." Are you calling me a liar? "Sorry, but we can give you store credit. If it were $5 maybe we'd give cash but not for $15, not when we can't even see that you have ever shopped here." OK then. I don't even mind that they gave me a $15 gift card. I don't even mind because I spend $15 in there and moreso, several times a week. What I do mind is the principle of it. They called me a liar and refused to give me cash because their stupid system is glitchy. It was insulting and it took 10 minutes instead of the 30 seconds it took me to buy the damn spoiled juice. This review is about Wegmans covid vaccination program. After working my way back across the state I finally managed to get an appointment for a shot at the Sheridan Drive location of Wegmans. My muscle memory took me to the Alberta Drive location first which was actually an interesting addendum to the experience. When I arrived at the Alberta location, I was about 9 minutes early. The signs were placed around the pharmacy directing you to the food court section for the covid shots. When I got there, a young man who was serving as a cashier (and directing people, answering questions, monitoring the seating area , just generally doing a great job of covering all the bases) told me to please wait about 7 more minutes to go up to the second floor, and that I could use the elevator that was located very close by. I got a drink and sat for a bit then went upstairs. There was a podium set up and chairs socially distanced around the waiting. I was greeted promptly and given a form to fill out while the lady looked for my name. I completed the form, and when they still couldn't find my name and I looked at my confirmation, I realized my mistake! I apologized and asked if they would please call the Sheridan location to notify them that I was on my way, that I had made this mistake. When I arrived at the Sheridan location, they had the same system set up. The shots were on the second floor where people would ordinarily go to eat. They had a podium set up and I was greeted promptly by a very friendly lady. When I explained who I was and that I was sorry I was late. She said it was no problem that the Alberta location had already called to notify them. That was great to hear. I was told to sit at the first chair past the podium and no sooner had I gotten there then they were ready for me to fill out paperwork and answer questions. There was another podium separating me from a desk where another lady was doing all the intake information. Again she was very friendly and very efficient and that was completed very quickly. I would have then gone to sit at another chair and wait for the next step, but they were so efficient that they were ready for me. I was lead to a small screened area with a chair and desk. There I was greeted by a University of Buffalo Medical Department Member. I'm not certain if he was a resident or a medical student. He was very thorough about asking all the questions concerning possible allergies and explained any possible side effects and how to handle them if they were to occur. Ice pack for a sore arm etc. He also explained about not taking Motrin or Tylenol as they might mask symptoms or reactions. Once he asked all the mandatory questions and I answered them all, we decided that being right handed we would go with my left arm. The shot took maybe 5 seconds and there was no pain at all. I was given a card with my second appointment date scheduled on it and told to bring it with me next month. I then had to sit in the balcony area for 15 minutes in case of reaction. They had a big basket of bottled water for anyone who wanted one. So overall the staff at both Wegmans were very friendly and professional and efficient. The process was very smoothly run. The only tricky part is getting an appointment! It's deserving of a completely separate review. There simply must be a better way for people to get vaccination appointments ! That process desperately needs improvement. I know too many at risk people who can't get an appointment simply because they can't find any openings. read more

This review is focused on their Sub Shop, but I do grocery shop here on a weekly basis and consistently have a great experience. Their fresh produce is top notch! Growing up, Wegmans subs, especially the Danny's Favorite, have been a staple. I came here on a Saturday night, around 5:45pm, to order a large (14") Danny's Favorite on a wheat roll. The crew behind the counter were young and friendly. The woman did a fantastic job constructing the sub and did it in record time (I don't think I was standing there five minutes from start to finish)! The price for the sub was great too: just under $11. As for the sandwich itself, truly a work of art. Between the time I ordered and got home, probably about 15 minutes passed, allowing the Wegmans' oil dressing to soak into the meats and roll. The roll itself had a great flavor and was the perfect texture and chew (not too soft and not hard as a rock). All of the meats in a Danny's Favorite go together perfectly and all of the veggies and pepper jack cheese (which I chose instead of the default provolone) are packed with flavor and crunch. The large is cut into four smaller sandwiches but, for my larger-than-a-normal-person's appetite, I was able to eat the entire sub without feeling "stuffed". They did a really nice job, and the layout of the store seems so much larger now than previously. It is said that Trader Joe's is for the budget shopper and Whole Foods (Amazon Acquisition) is for the bougie locavore, making Wegmans the grocery store for the entire community. It's not the biggest grocery store chain in the US with just over 95 locations but it can boast that its stores are some of the largest and most diversified in the country with tens of thousands of stock keeping unit (SKU) but yet some how they have been able to maintain a certain European Open Market charm. I'm no Wegmaniac in fact every Wegman's I've ever been in has been for similar reasons that I stopped in for this visit, someone asking me if I could stop in and bring them something back when I return from my travels. This beautiful store was filled with shoppers just before noon, but there were plenty of check out lanes open with cashiers and also self-serve most with no lines. I can't say anything bad about Wegmans. I'm not a fan of this place, but we get along really well. There was a time when I was doing all my grocery shopping with the Wegmans Family, but now I'm rather a 'cherry picker' and I think they are fine with that too. Everyone can find a way to shop there. Personally, I'm far from eating their meals, and I actually have enough time to cut my cauliflower or mandolin my zucchini, so I won't buy those either. I remember I had sushi there, but it was a long, long time ago. The Rotisserie Chicken is the closest I came to premade food, and it's good and convenient. Sub sandwiches are a different story. They do an awesome job of putting together a great combination of cold cuts, cheese and some vegetables inside two pieces of bread at a really attractive price. It's a great solution for a satisfying meal during a road trip or a simple lunch. I buy a lot of mushrooms. I wish it was packaged differently because I have too many black plastic containers in my house. I use them for paint pans or collecting vegetable scraps, but still too many. If you need organic carrots, this is the place to go. We like Wegmans brand Colombian Whole Bean Coffee. Artichokes during the season are great. Every time I have a party, I go there for baguettes, because their bread is not so bad plus it's a convenient location. Actually I can go on and on... I like this store. Hardly ever, but still it is possible to catch a fish head. Then I make delicious fish stock and soup. I have never been sick from the mussels. One time I wasn't comfortable using a batch of mussels I purchased. They gave my money back with no questions asked. The customer service is great. The people who work there are always nice. I would never complain about the speed at the cashier line. Come on! How fast do you need to go? I think this is all I can say for now. read more

We stopped in yesterday for some simple shopping items. This store is ALWAYS neat and clean. There is always a buzz of major activity and people eager to service you. I have never seen anything out of place or for that matter disorganized. Although I know they are adhering to COVID, it just seemed to be a bit to busy and crowded. The employees were great getting the lines moving and keeping a smooth flow. We opted for some take out food and agreed on a sub, which is always a hit We decided to try this wing bar they have been offering during this football season and as much as I wanted to like them ...it was a resounding no for me. It reminded me instantly that I do not like pre cooked food of any kind. They were pretty pricey to be pre cooked and for the super bowl the cost increased to $25 for 20. If you like wings and prefer them to be crispy. Then refrain from making this selection all together. read more

Another large Wegmans, this one has difficult parking. They have a large fruit and vege area, and a very nice salad bar area in this store. Sometimes the salad bar here has a few nice surprises, things I have not found at other Wegmans in the area. Love that. I have found a few bakery things here I like as well. This is a location I visit only for "fresh" foods, so I have not ventured into other areas of this supermarket and cant speak to those. 3 stars, its fine, but the parking is really difficult, and getting out of the parking lot is too. read more

There's so much room to walk, for multiple carts to pass through, it doesn't feel congested or give you anxiety while maneuvering through the store, I love it! I have been getting my groceries delivered but decided to try curbside pickup tonight. Lucky me! I downloaded the Instacart app and was soon messaging with the buyer. That part went smoothly. But then I got a message that my order was ready for pickup. Through the app, you can tell Wegmans you're on the way, and tell them that you've arrived. I did all that and parked in the overflow parking. And waited. And waited. 15 minutes later, I called the number on the parking sign and customer service told me they were still scanning my groceries and would be out in 2 minutes. So I waited. Another 10 minutes later I flagged a staff person and asked about my order. Holy crap - he was so annoyed with me. When I told him I had been waiting 20 minutes so far even after confirming on the app and calling in, he sarcastically said, " that must be so stressful for you." Nice. A customer shouldn't have to bear the problems of wegmans/Instacart tech. Obviously not very integrated. But bad service and attitude was all Wegmans. read more

I never realized there was a Wegmans on Sheridan Dr. I've been driving all the way out to the one on Transit, which is still my favorite out of all of them. This location is similar to the one I usually frequent out on Transit, the layout of the store is a bit different with the freezer section located in the middle of the store, only ever seen that at this location. I noticed that their organic, health food, diet restriction section is very small compared to other locations. They also seem limited on paper products, normally they line the whole back wall of the store, here I found a small section tucked away in the back corner of the store. I'm honestly not a fan of their layout, and I can't see me going to this location on the regular unless I'm in the area. read more

I want to like this Wegmans but I longer go here because of two annoying reasons: 1. They are incapable of managing the bottle return area. 1a. Every time I go here there is at least one machine down (usually bin is full). I will use the Bat Phone to call the service desk and let them know (why is this MY job?!), and then wait 5 mins for them to come down. And then The Bottle Return Nazi Lady barks orders at me, "EVERYONE HAS TO GET OUT. TAKE YOUR THINGS WITH YOU." So I move two feet so I'm outside the door and watch her do her magic. First she empties the garbage (what? No. Bin is full). Then she empties the cardboard recycling can (BIN FULL!). Then she disappears in the back room for five minutes (no no no, you empty the bins from the front on these machines). Then she starts wiping down surfaces (great but this isn't helping me). At this point I've waited 10 minutes. Finally I ask her "how much longer it's this going to take?" To which she replies "at least 10 or 15 minutes." WTF?!? If Wegmans wants to sanitize surfaces and empty trash bins, great! Set a timer and do it regularly. It doesn't require a mass evacuation. Every other store I've been in during the pandemic can do it, why can't you?! Don't make me wait outside while you do housekeeping. EMPTY THE F'ING BIN SO I CAN GET MY IDIOT TAX DEPOSIT BACK, LADY. 1b. It's extremely rare for me to ever return a few bottles/cans without the machine rejecting a UPC. Then I get to use the Bat Phone again (by the way, the Bottle Return Nazi Lady does NOT sanitize the phone, of all things!!) and have that conversation and then go to the service desk and wait for some old people playing the other Idiot Tax ("dollar and a dream!") so I can get my tax refund. If YOU sell something with a deposit, it should be in YOUR deposit system. Figure it out. NOT HARD. 2. They have like 50 checkout lines, and I've never seen more than 1/2 of them open. But to fit those mass quantities of checkouts, they had to make them about 1" wider than a cart, which is very inconvenient. Seems dumb, and a waste of capital to have 50% unused equipment. The rest of the store is fine, but I suggest going to Alberta instead. read more

There's many good reasons why Wegmans is consistently ranked as customers' No. 1 grocery store in the US and the Sheridan Drive, Williamsville store is an excellent example of why. Diverse selections of fresh produce, including organic and local options; quality bakery goods including really delicious artisan breads; floral, deli, cheese, meat & seafood departments that are well stocked, well staffed and fantastically clean! Customer service has always been 5 stars, whether returning an item or asking for assistance to find an item. Check out is usually fast, friendly and efficient. If you don't feel like cooking, their excellently prepared food options are plentiful with a variety of shops- sub, pizza, sushi, coffee, and buffet and reasonable Meals2Go. I have been in every single wegmans in buffalo and this one by far is the best one in the area. We also realized that they started bringing two unique items that we love so much ! First one is that they bring Cauliflower pizza crust which is really gooood and the second one is a cheesecake that they bring from a very famous cheese cake store in NYC . Of all the Wegmans locations we've been to, this is our favorite. Mostly for the olive bar and the above dinning area! We just love Wegmans, it's the bomb dot com! From the bakery, to the hot and ready food bar, the olive bar and cheese section, the sub bar, we love it all! A lot of Wegmans brand products are good, especially their Pierogies and Organic Pre & Probiotic Vanilla Yogurt! The dinning area upstairs is so nice and classy. There's a microwave, plates, napkins and utensils and a pop machine, so you don't have to go back downstairs for anything. There's also a "family zone" upstairs. It has a flat screen TV with kids shows, coloring sheets, toys, books, dress up chef outfits, Thomas the Train Engine tracks and a toy oven. So cute and fun. There was a group of older ladies behind us playing gin, having a good ole time. Love this Wegmans! You should check it out if you haven't already! read more

The perfect amount of meat, and condiments on it, so no parts of the sandwhich over powers the other. I was told to let it sit for a bit before eating, so the oil can sink into it and mix with the mayo, mustard, and everything else on the sandwhich in order to have a better tasting experience. What can I say, it's a Wegmans!!! If you know anyone from this area of New York, they'll always rave and marvel about how Wegmans is the best grocery store ever. The store is HUGE!!! The selection of produce, prepared foods, and baked goods are vast, and the prices are hard to beat. We finally have a Pub located inside the Transit Road Wegmans, which is just as good as the others! The store is awesome, similar to the other WNY You'll be impressed and maybe overwhelmed with the size, but there's no other grocery store in town like it. Like others, the store is clean and beautiful, and you'll see humongous and diverse selections at the bakery, desserts, hot bar, sushi, meats, produce, and prepared foods. The organic selection is plentiful as well, there's even marinated meats and other packaged foods that are organic! The rest of the aisles are like your normal grocery store, but if you can, buy the Wegmans brand stuff. The quality is awesome, if not better, than the brand name packaged foods. Not to mention cheaper! The smooth marinara sauce, blue corn tortilla scoops, and organic medium salsa are just a few Wegmans brand items that are top notch, can't wait to figure out what else is good! On top of the huge store and selection, the employees are very nice, helpful, and very happy to work there. There's a reason Wegmans always makes it on Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For! You'll have to forgive my geeking out over this grocery store. You see, I come from a land without Wegmans- a land where store brand meant cardboard, produce was suspect, and a store ap was something you filled out because your parents were making you get a job. I did have a Whole Foods, but my kids drink Capri Suns and I don't enjoy paying $7 for Flax Seed Chips, so obviously they were not my people. When I would tell people we were moving to Buffalo, they would cringe (lots of anti-snow people, apparently) and then visibly relax and spout out- "At least you will have Wegmans." On our first visit to this location, my husband actually walked my kids away from me, explaining "Mommy has waited a long time to see this store and we aren't going to mess it up for her." I then headed straight for the candy shop and poured myself a ridiculous amount of Jelly Bellys and felt at peace. That is until I had to refocus and buy actual groceries. That store is huge, and my subsequent visits have been greatly assisted by the mobile ap which tells me where everything is. Otherwise I would be leaving with jelly beans, trail mix, exotic cheese, and not much else. Maybe someday the shine will wear off and I will come to roll my eyes at people who love this store. But for now, and for the near future, Wegmans completes me - again mostly due to cheese, jelly beans and trail mix. I am a complicated woman. read more

Danielle and her staff were such a pleasure to work with for our June 10th wedding and made our floral arrangements look so beautiful.
