Store is clean but prices on many items are high. When I came yesterday at 5pm, the premium beer cooler read a temperature of 72 and none of the beers were cold. The self checkouts were also finicky and a young employee told us we needed to bag our grocery on the right side, which seemed odd, but then another employee told us to bag our groceries on the left side. She has redish hair and a nose piercin. omg. she's the rudest and dumbest cashier i've ever met. one time she scanned my items wrong 3 times and was asking me what i wanted to do??? idk how ur cash register works or why u messed up, u please fix it. i was in line with her for like 15 minutes for TWO ITEMS. crazy. then i was with my mom and she was completely ignoring us when we said anything to her. i said have a nice day and she immediately looked at her phone and threw our items to the side and didn't even bag them. i think she might be eating some edibles in the back. read more

It's about the can and bottle return. Obviously customer service isn't a thing here. Five machines, only one is operating and it's for cans. But most of my cans it refuses to take. It's rejecting Budweiser and Labatts cans. I figure out that it doesn't like the tall narrow hard seltzer rye cans. If I can't return the cans at the store, then I'm not going to buy the cans at the store. Off to Wegmans I go. read more

Most of the people that shop here are "bottoms", because bottoms tend to gravitate to "Tops." This Tops is the closest to my house, and when I'm driving back from downtown using the 33, past the airport, it's really convenient to stop here on the way home. I love that it's open 24 hours. Tops in general is inferior to Dash's and Wegmans (and I hate to say it, but even Walmart), and the prices tend to be too high, so generally I would only give a Tops a 1 or a 2, but this one scores 3 for always being friendly and decently stocked, unlike some of the other locations. It's also close to Zorba's, Antoinette's, and a few other fun places to eat. read more

Ended up walking in here to grab a couple of items for a party I forgot, and since I was closer to this Tops than the one I usually go to up the road, I thought why not. First time in here, and the last. The whole store smells like a horse farm, it's almost as if someone stepped in shit and walked around the whole store. I walked up some of the aisles looking for what I intended on coming here for but ultimately ended up walking out empty handed due to the smell being very overwhelming. The store seemed very dirty, unorganized for it only being (9pm) on a Tuesday night. The staff I encountered were very friendly, although there were about three of them watching the Self Checkout, odd - At other locations they only have one. Avoid this location if possible, the one a little further down Transit is wayyy better and doesn't smell awful. read more

What can I say...it's a Tops. The staff at this location seem to be very friendly and helpful. They always have good specials here too. The produce and meat are well stocked and maintained. This store has a very clean appearance. If you are in the area it's one of the better Tops Markets locations. read more

I had a very pleasant experience shopping at this tops. usually I go to the one on Broadway but decided to switch it up tonight. I was having a hard time finding a couple items for a couple recipes that I found the other day I was getting pretty bummed because I didn't think they had what I needed. then I asked a young gentleman I believe his name was Riley if he could help me and he stopped what he was doing just to help me find what I was looking for I was so excited when he found it think I might have to keep going to this one! the store is so clean and organized and the staff seemed ready to help with whatever I needed. read more

Customer Service is key. This store does not have the number one ingredient for success, which is just that. Example 1: When at the deli, the ladies working behind the counter ALWAYS over serve the amount of deli meat requested. If we ask for 1/2 lb of turkey, we get 2/3 to 3/4 lb of turkey. They try to be sneaky and see if you don't figure out what they just did. I tell them I wanted a 1/2 lb (0.50) of turkey and they look at me all dazed and confused, almost throwing a quasi-hissy fit. Example 2: The checkout lines are always long and no other registers are ever open. No express lanes either. Management looks at the line and walks away. The other employees stand around the EZ Checkout area and look at the line. People have places to go and can't be standing waiting in a line all day long, especially on Saturday and Sunday mornings when most people go grocery shopping. Yelp didn't like my last review apparently so here it goes again. Front-end management constantly berates it's cashiers in front of customers for needing assistance/overrides. These things are generally outside of the cashier's control. When you walk over a second time to the same cashier you were just at because you were too busy the first time giving a long-winded lecture to actually complete your override then say "WHAT NOW!?" a gaggle of customers groan in unison. People generally like to give money to businesses that treat their employees right, and this kind of behavior shines some high beams on the work culture at Tops. read more
