I love Wegmans. They have great ideas and have everything on my list every time. They have good produce for each season and have a great dining area and food. There take and bake pizza and pizza by the slice are very good. They have very subs also. The store is very clean. The service is very good they hire very good people and give them great jobs with great scholarships a lot. They have started to bring back samples which I love. The cheese section has great samples and the employees are great to talk to. The ambiance is great with quiet music and nice people. The pharmacy is also very good I have gotten shots there and they were very thorough and clean. I would recommend their dinning, shopping, and pharmacy. read more

Wegmans has ... changed their very the years. The noise level has grown exponentially. There is a rooster that crows on the hour. Music in every department plus overhead. Generally produce is perfectly fine, except grapefruit. They are displayed under hot lights and soft and awful. Deli is minimally manned. Honestly I grew up next door to this location when it opened . It was fabulous, it has gone so down hill with customer service. Recently my parked car was hit. I handled it with dignity when customer service called me down to pick up my broken side drivers side mirror. Nothing came of that, they actually reported to the police there was no accident. Then this morning I go into do a simple return... customer service desk closed. I asked for a manager the woman was rude she goes I am the manager. So I said can u do a simple return for me before 7.30 am open time. She goes no, then I said has anything happend with my vehicle investigation. Her response , u need a higher manager. Let me ask u wegmans u have a manager on duty that answers no to simple returns before open time at customer service. She could of made an exception also shes not competent enough to handle higher up situations such as my vehicle... so what is her job then... what can she handle ? This Wegmans location is smaller than some but fits my needs. I'm actually surprised on some of the bad reviews since I've never had any problems here. Employees have always been helpful and they always seem to have what I need. This particular review update is on Wegmans in general, and their generosity. As an example last week they teamed up with Josh Norman from the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Business Blitz by donating 100% of the proceeds on all orders placed through Wegmans Meals2Go. This was to help local restaurants, food vendors. And other small businesses effected by Covid. We ordered subs on the Meals2Go app, which we had never done before, usually ordering right at the counter. Well my sub was honestly probably the best sub I ever had! It was made properly with everything I asked for and it was huge. So much meat and nice big pieces of peppers. The 'everything' roll was fresh and full of flavor. The mixed greens were crisp and not limp at all. Overall really good. Lol don't usually get that excited about a sub but it was so good. Stopped by Wegmans after work for a quick meal. Got some fried rice, broccoli, and egg rolls from the "Asian bar," and none of it was acceptable. Broccoli was COLD, and rice was flavorless. Egg rolls were mushy. It wasn't cheap, either. It cost $16 for that disgusting plate of crap. read more

Wegmans is absolutely fantastic in every way except for price. They have the freshest produce, meat and bread. They have such a wide variety of products, you're just about guaranteed to find anything you could need here. The store is always clean and organized and the employees are friendly and professional. It just ends up being really expensive to shop here. I could go to some other cheaper stores around and spend $40 for what I need, and go to Wegmans to get essentially the same things and spend $100. I do love their subs too, they are delicious, highly recommend the Danny's Favorite. read more

***************************** I am updating my review of this Wegmans because of the new measures they are taking during the COVID-19 Pandemic. ***************************** I ventured out to my local Wegmans to stock up on some things for longer term because the Pandemic may get worse before it gets better. Yes, I believe things will get better over time. Haven't been out of the house for 11 days. Donned with a mask and bright orange nitrile gloves I stocked up mostly on fresh produce that will keep for a while like apples, oranges and potatoes. Also picked up a good supply of snack foods. Just eating regular foods makes isolation more difficult. Only empty shelves I saw were the toilet paper shelves. Plenty of produce, meat, bread, and dairy products in stock. Didn't need milk this trip because I put milk into zipper bags in 2 cup portions and froze it. Kudos to my local Wegmans for doing a great job with social distancing at the checkouts. Everyone was fed to the registers from one line that was set up from a waiting point at the far end of where the checkouts are and directed down the last store aisle and to the back of the store. There were signs along the way telling people to keep your cart between you and the person in front of you. There was an employee at the waiting point telling you which checkout line to proceed to, after the cashier was finished disinfecting the belt, credit card pad, etc after the previous customer. Once at the checkout line, you are instructed to stand behind a line on the floor at the beginning point of the belt and to put your groceries on the belt and wait until the cashier finishes scanning. The cashier steps back and signals you to scan your shopper's card and process your payment. Then they ask you to step back while the cashier completes the transaction and puts your recipe in your cart or bag. They then step back again and you proceed to leave the store. I thought for sure It was going to be a real long wait. Well was I wrong. I timed the whole thing. I started out about 30th in line it took 19 minutes from when I got in line to when I opened my car door. Absolutely no complaints about the whole experience with the exception of several "I don't care" idiot customers that had the stupid need to defy social distancing rules. They will be the first ones to blame everyone else when they get the virus. GROW UP PEOPLE!!!!!! Thank you to Wegmans for caring about your customers and employees. read more

​What's not to love about Wegmans? I used to live in Florida where Publix is King. They loved Kroger in Alabama. In Texas, it's all about HEB and Kroger. I've also lived in Tokyo, where we did a lot of shopping at Carrefour (which is fabulous!). When I lived in Singapore, we had some great grocery stores catering to expats (Hello, Jason's!). But never have I lived anywhere where the grocery store experience was so incredibly enjoyable as it is at Wegmans. I tell my out-of-state friends who have never experienced Wegmans that I would pay a cover charge to shop here. They can't understand why I am so passionate about a grocery store. Until they visit. Then they totally get it. As much as I love Wegmans, I have a Florida foodie friend who feels equally passionate about "her" Publix. When I took her on a tour of Wegmans (because yes, it is a destination when you have out-of-state friends visit), she said, and I quote, "Oh dear! Publix can ____ my _____." Then she begged me to never tell Publix she said that. Use your imagination. Rarely have I ever gone into Wegmans with my list and left without every single item. Usually,​ I have the opposite problem. I walk out with more than is written on my list. Wegmans makes shopping enjoyable for a ton of reasons. First of all, they're a local store, which means you're doing something good for the community in which we live. Second, they offer top quality meats, fishes, produce, and other groceries. Their employees are so polite you'd swear they're being trucked in from the South. The restaurant and all the other extras also help them stand out. They have umbrellas for customers to use on rainy days. There's always plenty of parking. I never have to wait very long in line. If they appear to be out of stock of something, all I have to do is ask an associate and even if it isn't their department, they're happy to see if they have more "in the back," which they usually do. They will bring your groceries out to your car if you're old or infirm, if it's raining, or if you just politely ask. Why would I want to shop anywhere else? read more

I am shocked to see this under 4 stars. For one- the bathrooms are heavenly. I currently work for DoorDash and pick up orders every now and then, but when I'm not I will go out of my way to use them. The sushi and poke is some of the best you can get in Buffalo (honestly not saying much there, but it's not bad!) Try the chicken Caesar wrap- worth the price. I grocery shop here as well, even though I don't make much I consider their quality worth it when I can afford it. ‍‍The staff has a culture of being kind and friendly, I appreciate that. They play a cool mix of music in the story as well. The cafe lounge is a very relaxing place to meet with friends. The cookies (specifically the large ones that you can just heat up) are monsterously delicious. I can go on and on honestly, but I'll add one thing. When people move away from Buffalo, Wegmans is one of the main places they miss. read more

I havnt been here in a while. Walking in you have one set of speakers with some sort of holiday music on and then on the right side you have Bruce blaring. The smell of the bakery when you walk in just gives you a taste of buffalo home life. The lighting is so calming especially when you are shopping. Everything is very organized and it pretty much has everything you need! Don't get me started about their sushi, I generally don't buy store sushi but Wegmans sushi is so worth it! The workers love to help us and cashiers have lots of love and will speak to you even if it's their last customer, they treat you like family:) Stuff is expensive these days but in Wegmans it's not their fault, it's inflation these days haha!! read more

Wegmans is my go-to grocery place (along with Trader Joes and Whole Foods) in the area. All Wegmans have a similar feel to it, but I would say this Wegmans is on the cleaner and more well-organized side. The produce is always fresh, and the food bar area is well kept too. They don't have as much Asian products as the Tonawanda location, but they still have the basics. There are a variety of choices in the gluten-free & organic section, with a separate fridge and freezer with gluten-free products. I HAVE had a couple problems with this Wegmans though. The first issue I bumped into was with one of the breads I bought. I bought a "marathon bread half loaf with cranberries" and I found a blue piece of plastic in the bread. Ewww! I immediately emailed the customer service center, and they were kind enough to offer me a refund or a free half loaf of bread. (To be honest though, I didn't want to ever have the cranberry bread anymore...) Another issue was with an employee at the meat department. So... there was an older employee who said some mean things about me and my husband being Asian. We asked if it was possible to get thin-cut pork, and the comments he made was totally uncalled for. Again, I messaged the customer service center, and they assured me they would address this issue in their training. Overall, this Wegmans is on the cleaner side with quick and responsive customer service. There are bound to be issues anywhere you go; I just really appreciate this Wegmans being so professional in handling the issues. :) read more

I live very close to Tops, Walmart, and this Wegmans .. and I have to say Wegmans WINS at grocery shopping! First of all, I love the staff .. they're very nice and even helpful when I have needed it (Tops employees could really take some lessons!). Secondly, the staff at self checkout actually pays attention and helps you before you need to walk over or yell for them when something isn't going right. Again, Tops employees should take notes! My biggest love for Wegmans is their emphasis on health and quality. They certainly have the best produce and a huge selection. I find it easy to make healthy choice here! I start off in produce and find a lot of my cart is filled so I shop less in other departments (you can find a lot of other cool things here too like vegetables shaved into noodles, prechopped veggies, veggie and black bean burgers, cauliflower rice, etc.) They're premade meals also have a healthy section and it's in its own case .. so you can walk right past the "poor" choices and right for the healthy! They have lots of seafood and meat that's ready to cook! You don't have to season / marinate etc. I love that. As a single mom, I love skipping any little steps I can! And they put premade sides made in store near by, such as the veggie noodles or mashed potatoes. Nothing incredibly bad for you and usually perfect pairs for the meat. The frozen section has an awesome selection of frozen veggies! I HATTTEEEE vegetables but they have so many options with good flavors .. and steamables .. again, easy and ready to go! And overall, their grocery selection is option .. believe me I have gone in their as a fatty and dropped $50 on cheeses, $50 on baked goods and desserts .. there is plenty and they are yummmmmyyyy! But I love that I can skip right past these aisles and find healthy selections kind of in their own little places so I am not tempted to buy junk food. Oh and btw in the dairy section there is tiny pre chopped fruit made fresh that day to stir into some plain Greek yogurt (so now you don't have to buy the sugary yogurt). So awesome. Parking is never an issue. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that prices are a tad high .. not on everything but usually it's the stuff I want - go figure! Lol and also the store is often crowded, especially walking in and out and around produce. I wonder if someday they can expand the entry's hallways and opening into the store where you walk into produce. There is a lot of profit filling the space which makes traffic right. Love Wegmans! I frequent their sushi, produce, and bakery often. Their catering Dept is really easy to work with also. I ordered a beautiful full sheet cake with whipped cream frosting, white cake, and fresh strawberry filling. It is always a huge hit at family parties. Their sushi is always nice and fresh. Let me start off by saying, I don't normally write reviews about grocery shops, but this Wegmans tops all of the other ones I've been too! It's HUGE! The layout is similar to the regular sized ones where when you walk in your automatically in produce. To the back of produce you go into the deli area and cheese section. Holy Cheese! I didn't realize how many options there were. Over to your left is the long bakery aisle with the most delicious looking premade dessert wall. I wanted to just dive right in! But I was good, I steered clear. To the back of bakery you go into meats and seafood. I was suprised at how many "Ready to Cook" items there were! You had everything from burgers already pressed and seasoned, ready to hit your grill. To skewered Chicken, Steak, or Shrimp Kabobs! Over to your right was the Hot Bar and Sub Shop which was closed for the evening considering I came in about midnight, maybe even closer to 1am. The overnight crew were very helpful and friendly! Even though I always feel bad when I'm in there and their trying to restock, I feel like I'm in the way, but they were very accommodating! The cashier, Patricia, was amazing! This Wegmans had so much stuff that you can't find at the smaller stores! Especially the Protein powders and mixes, to the international aisle. I think I just spoiled myself, I don't live remotely close to this one, was just in the area, but I can't wait to be back! Lastly, I am really loving the new "Paperless" design most of the Wegmans have been switching over to in their bathrooms! & the convenient diapers they supply for your child in the bathrooms were a great idea, especially for emergencies! read more

Good for certain items, namely organic produce, and unusual vegetarian, vegan type foods. If you buy the "family pack" (larger portions) you can save some money. I do that with the salmon. Cut it up and freeze smaller portions. I can't do that so much for the fruits and veggies, as we don't eat them fast enough and they will spoil before we can get to them. My daughter and I enjoy the fresh sushi and desserts. Occasionally we buy from the salad bar. It's pricey however. We don't usually sit in the cafe. Seating outside in the summer is nice off to the side of the store. My gripe: bad/indifferent mannered young cashiers often working at this location. You need to smile, appear approachable-- at least pretend you like the customer! I don't get that attitude so much at the Alberta Drive store, which has a more positive vibe in my opinion. I've always liked the Alberta location, it's like going to a party -- excitement in the air. Another gripe: the price. I easily spend $$$ leaving Wegmans. I realize "you get what you pay for" however I can only shop for select items in Wegmans. Not all my grocery items, no way. Alternatively, Aldi is not pretty to look at but has many decent products - many gluten free and recently a lot more organics. And a can of beans is a can of beans. No need to spend more $ for such things at Wegmans. Wegmans is pretty - floral dept and bakery are beautiful, deli very "kosher" -ha ha! But I'm not looking for a fancy grocery store. Good food at affordable prices is where it's at for me, not the frills. The BEST Wegmans was the one at the children's museum in Rochester NY!!! It's like the real ones but it's all for free!! And so darn cute. The kids love it. They got the little ones brain washed, those Wegmans! Not only does my daughter want to shop at Wegmans when she grows up, she wants to work for them!! This location has been extremely accommodating during Covid. Love the curbside pickup system. Customer service was beyond helpful and kind when there were a couple of mistakes with our last order. I understand mistakes happen- happy to be patient but they made it right immediately and were generous while helping out. The cashiers are always kind. Anyone walking around in a Wegman's uniform is happy to point me in the right direction or look up an item. They always have what I want in stock and the Wegmans brand products are top notch. No doubt Wegmans is the Best grocery and business ! Their prepared foods are good but becoming too expensive by the pound. Why would you want to buy Chinese or Indian prepared food (which don't look too appetizing to begin with) for twice the price? This Transit store by Target though has issues. Their produce is very often not stocked properly and some items are always missing as they claim they haven't received delivery.. happens more often than acceptable. Also their pizza shop pizza has a oven problem as the crust is usually undercooked. The sub store is worse... bread is always soggy despite being toasted. When you complain they do make amends but we are often told the sogginess is from the "canned" veggies that go in the sub... really canned? How come the other Wegmans don't have the same issue? We now shop at the Sheridan drive store instead. read more

If it were called Woodmans then everyone here would wear flannel jackets and carry axes. But it's not. So they don't. Was in this Wegmans a few times earlier in the year and it's not as good as the Sheridan one, doesn't have half the stuff that one has. It's not too bad though, although getting in and out can be a tiny bit of a pain. Went in to get some tea because I've been having some health problems. The scale in the department was off and was charging 80% more. I bagged around an ounce of lavender sencha and it came to over $12... I brought it up to the register and I explained it and told her the tag said $1.49 per ounce and she responded "honey it says on the label it's not. I don't know what to tell you." Then she's like "here, I'll charge you $3 how's that..." I want to pay the right price, not give you more money. She then says "then you can buy it now or come back." So I left it there. This is definitely not what I wanted to deal with at 1:30am after a stress filled day. read more

While there are quite a few really nice cashiers that get 5 stars right in my comments, I am rating the rest of the store 1 star. If you need anything from the freezer section in the morning at this store what you can expect is every isle to be blocked off with the temperature sensitive items that need to be stocked and when those are gone they leave their mess for customers to deal with. I was so upset to see a middle aged woman expected to act like a monkey to get into one of the product doors while the two employees responsible for the mess just stood around. I thought the Wegmans in black rock was bad. This place somehow managed to top that poor experience. I can't really give this place 1 star because they do, as with other Wegmans, have an impressive selection but it suffers the same downfalls as well. It's overly crowded, super busy, and wickedly complicated to navigate. These issues are exacerbated by the fact that the aisles, in some extreme cases seem fit for only 1 cart to travel through (here's looking at you bread and dairy aisles) we even had the little smaller double decker carts and I still felt like I was having to stop and go constantly just to let other people pass. Perhaps they should put lanes in, cart odometers, and speed limits. That might help the situation. Because if I have to stop behind some perfectly innocent old lady taking her time inspecting cheeses because oncoming traffic prevents my ability to pass... I'm going to start... i dunno... standing in the middle of busy aisles playing 2048 on my phone. read more

We love Wegmans, so many healthy choices and a great prepared food section. Our go-to at least once a week. Great during COVID-19.

I hate to do this but have to downgrade this location by a couple of stars. No; the store has not suddenly turned into a horrendous place to shop. For the most part, the food is good and the service outstanding. However, at least four times in the last couple of years we have bought meat only to open the package at home and find it quite smelly and no good at all. It seems to be limited to chicken and pork, never with beef. The store always refunds the money; of that there is no problem. However, I think there is a problem somewhere with the refrigeration system. When I asked about the problem, I was told that all seems to be in order and that no one else has complained about their meat. That may be so, but most people don't bother going back for a refund. I think the employees are sincerely puzzled about what has happened, but there is no plan to look into the problem. For that reason we will have to get all of our meet at Top's or even Niagara Produce, which has a decent selection. I have no assurance that future meat purchases at this Wegmans will be OK. read more

I want to make sure everyone knows what a truly amazing staff this Wegmans has! I was in the midst of a very serious medical emergency pertaining to one of my two year old nephews( twin boys) and the service desk staff stepped up and helped IMMENSELY. Without the help they provided me I do not believe the outcome of the situation would have been so good. I have always loved this store and this location, but now I love it even more! Being alone during that experience was incredibly scary at first, but the way they stepped in it made me feel like I was with family and friends which was truly amazing. The singing employee was not here but once again I was notified order was ready, only to have one employee ask my name and do nothing for 20 minutes then a second employee asked my name and brought my groceries. You live in Buffalo so you know one of these. Well, some insights on this Wegman's on Transit beyond the aisles and farm fresh produce. 1) Mom's cave : I leave my kids 3 1/2 & 6 yrs for a win-win retreat fro both of us. You can drop the kids (3 or above) for max 1 hr and shop or just hang out by the cafeteria. but they close at 6pm. Sometime i call my friend for coffee and kids have a great company too. I prefer staying in and i never dare to leave the premises as you can get a call from them anytime to your wonderland. 2) From Sushi to ribs: Best alternate to a temporary world buffet and eating at restaurant at the times when you don't want to have a table with spilled water , floating napkins and frequent trips to bathrooms and drawing attention to every other person in room. Or just pickup and eat at home. 3) Kids in Kitchen: There is a cooking session for kids for just $5.00 for ages 5 & up once a month. Good to get the basics flowing. 4) Free cookie: Big benefits when you have kids ! How many of you take a stroll through the bakery to just look at the scrumptious creations? Well i could be alone on the planet who does this, never know. But to me looking at the bakery is as to a guy looking at the grown up stuff ... Sorry got a cough there ! so just in case you can't resist the sweet tooth and don't wann buy the whole big pack then they give the kids free cookie as a treat. Doesn't hurt to have a bite or two right for yourself? 5) Grocery: well, i say that put a BIG comparison board on few items with Tops. But everyone has choice of brands . so i shop here to get the organic best price stuff, gluten free, the health foods, coconut ice creams, coconut products, best healthy bread for $4.50 made with organic and natural stuff. If i wanted to buy generic brands or non-organic produce then i find the other store (read my review of grocery store) better priced. 6) Others: i found that sale merchandise are worth buying as they offer best pricing.
