Always a great place with things you wouldn't find elsewhere! We shopped here today 23 Dec 2024 and the amount of people shopping was the most we've seen ever! As usual the store had the shelves filled with a lot of good stuff! My wife found a tea made with anise, and am drinking it while typing this: IT is delicious! I also saw one thing I always see on the West Coast but not elsewhere: oyster sauce! I used to use this for pork ribs and soups which gave it a unique and tasty difference. WoW! I really like PriceRite, and this location has a bit better parking than the busier one in Elmwood. So, on the surface, PriceRite is a discount chain and competitor to Aldi. But that's not really entirely accurate or fair to PriceRite, which has a huge selection of produce typically thought of as "ethic" (e.g. yucca root, green plantains, etc.) and thus on any given day resembles an immigrant market as much as a traditional corporate supermarket. This ethos is reflected in much of the rest of the selection as well, with all sorts of Latin American spices, sauces, and grains, among other things. Also, it's a super-secret repository of Huy Fong Sriracha when Buffalo as a whole has been hit by yet another debilitating shortage. You also find odds and ends like clearance wicker torches for super cheap. There's a grab-bag feel about the stock at any given time that makes it seem like a distant relative to Marshalls. All is not paradise: the checkout machines are wonky and hard to use, I can never seem to find any hand carts, and the beer selection is nothing to write home about. They seem to have missed the memo entirely about vegan meat and cheese being a thing now. But I have other stores for that stuff, and this one is a really great place to load up on the veggies. read more

I'm a fan of price rite. The store has done some remodeling since opening and the store looks much better and organized. Feel their produce is way better than Aldi's. Although pricing has gone up (everywhere) I still find them to be lower in the area. They always have what I need, don't have to go to a Tops or Wegmans like I do after Aldi's either. You can find everything you need. They also seem to have some unique finds that you don't see elsewhere. Always good sales. Recommend downloading app and going there rewards program, you will have additional digital coupons. read more

This price rite (the one on Kenmore avenue) is the best price rite of all the buffalo area price rites. I always see the manager(s) hard at work tending to and ensuring the produce is organized and fresh. And even when there are a lot of people, it never seems to feel like it takes forever to check out. Everything seems clean and organized in comparison to other pricrite stores and the cashier's/employees seem happier and to care a lot more about customers than the other stores. So I want to say thank you for giving me a produce store that is very affordable and making it a nice experience of all times I've shopped here over the years read more

I've only been in here a couple times since I moved nearby. They have a large variety of things. I have to say, I don't like the layout of the store. Some prices are a bit high & some are pretty decent. Their brand of chips are cheap & delicious !! Big bags too ! They were out of a lot of things , so I couldn't get the main thing I went for, but, idk whose fault that is, so I can't say anything about it. The employees were wearing masks & gloves, which I liked to see. But, they weren't very happy people, which is understandable, but they shouldn't show it. All in all, it's a good store & I will continue to go there. For those who may not have been here yet, it's like Aldi. You have to buy or bring your own bags & bag your own stuff. Hit up the Price-Rite on Kenmore today... forgot it was the grand reopening... was glad I went, looks opened up and larger inside. They did a nice job on the remodel. They always have deals. I particularly love their brand of club soda, interesting flavors- my favorite is cucumber melon. You can't beat a 1 liter bottle for $0.44... anyway, if you watch your pennies, you might want to stop in here. It's MUCH better than it was! read more

Being from Asia, I frequent this store because it has many exotic fruits and vegetables (recaita, starfruit, papaya, etc) that are not readily available at some of the other grocery stores. When you first walk-in, you're walking into the produce section which is pretty substantial in size, displaying a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. The prices are, by far, much lower than most other stores so you always feel like you're getting a good deal. The meat section is on the smaller side. I like to buy organic grass-fed meat, so I was happy to find jumbo wild caught shrimp and grass-fed sirloin and flank steak. Oh, and one HUGE and very exciting find today: organic rosemary plants for only $1.79!!! They also had organic parsley, mint and cilantro plants. Recently, I bought organic seeds at another store for $3/pack and have yet to plant them, so I'm very happy with this find. Cashing out: there are many lanes, but it always seems to be very busy here with lines that are extremely long. The parking lot is huge, but it's not kept very well. Carts are everywhere, and people do not return them to a safer area. Instead they'd just leave it next to a car, in the middle of the parking lot. Overall, I don't really enjoy shopping at this store, because the lines are too long, parking lots are unkempt, and the store could probably use a little wash/mop. However, it does have the exotic fruits and veggies that other stores do not have, so I'll deal with the hassles once in a while so that I can get what I need - and I must say, finding the organic rosemary plant at $1.79 makes it all worth the hassles, and that's what keeps me coming back. read more

Okay, okay.! Let's get one thing straight! If you really want to find the BEST prices on groceries... THIS is where you go. This is by far the most cost effective supermarket in buffalo (especially for struggling college students like mi self). I buy almost all of my goodies here (spices included). They even have detergent for 1.99 and it's branded (Tide)! Definitely check it out at the very least to see what it's about. You really can't go wrong. Only "negative" I would say is it's location. Tips: 1) you need to bring your own bags to pack your groceries or spend 10c per bag. The bags are massive and you can just save them or future use 2) make sure if you see something at a good price you buy it IMMEDIATELY. Sometimes (most times) if you wait and get it next time it may not be there (this is more geared towards more pricey luxury items like shrimp which they have every so often for an AMAZING price) read more

Just 3 blocks from and my go to grocer. Here's my take on the meats1st: I only buy the ground beef 85% lean. The rest is junk. Best deals on Chicken is the Family pals, lots of 99cents/lb often for thighs legs. Great veg. prices too, and Walt the greeter is a sweet man Cashiers are pretty fast and mostly polite but you shop for low prices, just saying. Yes, it's a discount grocery chain. But they seem to have done some market research and carry several Latin American and Asian foods that your local store probably doesn't have. It's worth exploring. I love this store. The food is of better quality than TOPS or Save a Lot and A LOT cheaper. I travel from Grand Island to do my weekly grocery shopping here. Example: I bought 2 bone-in pork shoulders for $15/each here. When I priced them out at TOPS they were between $39-$53 a shoulder. I feel like I need to write a review for how often I come here. This location shows a tad wear and tear but what matters is what's inside. This is considered a discount grocery store but to me it has a better selection of ethnic goods out of any "discount" type store I've shopped at recently. There is a large selection of fruits and vegetables and depending on the day, the "freshness" factor comes into play. I have been told deliveries come in on Thursdays so that may be the best time to shop. The place has a large selection of international fruits like breadfruit, plantains, sugar canes, aloe plants, young coconuts, etc. Depending on the season, you may see things from different areas of the world that you wouldn't normally find easily at the other mainstream stores. The ethnic options carry over to the protein options, spice seasonings, rices and frozen food choices. Besides the above, name brands are all over this store at great prices. Chobani, Egglands, Sabra, Poland Spring, UTZ, are just some of the many brands that are stocked in this store. If quinoa was available, I really wouldn't need to shop anywhere else. I love coming here to get the majority of my groceries. It's not a one stop shop but for the prices, it's definitely worth an extra stop. read more

Cheapest produce I've been able to find around, with a pretty decent variety as well. The quality was a little spotty, but if you've got a discerning eye you can find some great stuff. It's like Aldi's, but a lot better and open an hour later. They've got a relatively varied selection of hispanic foods at great prices, including somewhat exotic fresh fruits and vegetables. For a discount supermarket, PriceRite offers a surprisingly good shopping experience. The produce section is well-stocked and organic products are often available. Specialty items like tofu, wonton wrappers, sugar cane, and more are available, as are many tropical/seasonal specialties that are often lacking in discount chains. The dairy case offers organic milk and cage free eggs, as well as the same brands of cheese, yogurt, sour cream, etc. stocked at Wegmans--but usually at least 30% lower in price. If you know what you're looking for, you can get great products here--and save yourself a lot of money. It's become my first stop when grocery shopping; I get everything I can at PriceRite, then fill in the missing items on my list at Wegmans. **NOTE: I highly recommend the Kenmore Avenue location over the Elmwood Avenue location. read more

This is the worst place to shop for meats and fruits, they never have a variety of meats, and the fruits and vegetables are spoiled and rotten. I also seen people open cases of ribs and put their bare dirty hand on the meat which is very unsanitary. The lines are long and the cashiers seem to all have attitudes. I will be shopping at Wegman's from now on. read more
