I frequent this store all the time. The last few trips were for freshly baked bread, ginger root and dragon fruit. I know I can get these items here usually without fail. I but the frozen dragon fruit. I like to eat it like that or make smoothies out of it. I purchased fresh dragon fruit but I don't care for it. Or perhaps I just had a bad couple pieces of fruit. That's possible. Subs are $17 and some change from the sub shop and that's without adding extra topping like extra meat or cheese. They're still worth it as long as the bread is soft. The last three times I ordered subs the bread was off. The outside was flaking but the inside was soft and around the edges were rough. That was one sub. The other two were semi soft. Even after toasting the bread is off. It just doesn't taste the same. Something is different and I don't care for the change. read more

Picked up a few items today for dinner. The Ultimate White was very underwhelming. For $5.50 it's a rip off. The price was very small. The icing was very hard and tasted like wax. The cake was was crumbly (see picture) The Ultimate Carrot cake for $6 was a bit better, but a small piece. The cream cheese icing was much better on this one, and the cake was moist and had a nice spicy flavor. The Cobb Salad with chicken ($12) was uneventful. Had some family in from out of town today and needed to grab a quick lunch. Since they had NEVER been to a Wegmans, (crazy, I know) we went to grab some subs. They're big fans of Jersey Mikes but after eating their subs today, they might be converting to Wegmaniacs. We all got different subs but I had to get a chicken finger sub. As we all know, Wegmans makes a very large sub packed full of toppings. This was delicious and hit the spot. The only downside I have with Wegmans subs that sometimes happens is when the chicken fingers aren't as flavorful. Sometimes they just lack the flavor you would expect. Still good but noticeable. Overall, I love taking out-of-towners to Wegmans and watch them experience the best grocery store ever. They're always blown away and then that means I can get a sub too. read more

Wegmnas has really cheesy good cheese bread. For $6 I have been addicted to their own bakery made fresh fluffy and chewy cheese bread since college. Wegmans makes their own lots of things including Fuji apple juice and it's 52 fl oz for $6. Love this bc it's hard to find any place that sells 100% Fuji apple juice bc it's my favorite apple ever. The sandwich shop has good stuff to eat ... a little pricey if you compare w subway bc it's $15 ish for almost a foot long. But it's preference. They have a house sushi chef and lots of variety. Lots of ready to eat foods and fresh fruit and veges also. So much at Wegmans even if some stuff are a bit pricey but some things are just a Wegman thing so I am happy here. You can sit and eat here too. Bags are 7 cents each so bring your own bag and save the earth please. They have a post box right at the entrance if you don't have a mailing station near you or it's easy to put mail here while you shop. They also lend you umbrellas if it's raining! There are 4 types of carts: kids, those who need assistance w walking, a bigger cart and then a more ergonomic cart that you don't have to bend too far down for if you don't have a ton to shop for. Wegmans is perfect in so many ways where do I even begin...if your a wegmans shopper you have your favorite parts of the store, ours is Natures Market! I want to give Wegmans a personal shout out as to how they are handling Covid-19. Since the beginning they shut down the self serve section but you can still order pizza, subs, sushi, and coffee. They opened up all of their aisles so people have a wider space to walk in. They sectioned off the check out and have clear signs everywhere so you know what you should be doing as a customer to keep everyone safe. They also installed shields for the checkout cashiers to help keep them safer. You can rest assure shopping at Wegmans and everyone just needs a little bit of patience to help keep everyone healthy and safe during this crazy time! read more

Although this isn't the closest Wegmans to me anymore, it's still my favorite location. They don't have self-checkout, but they do have WiFi (great for using the app in store) and the store is clean, organized, well-stocked, and has a great variety of everything. Cashiers are always friendly and during my most recent trip, almost all the registers were open even though I went during an off-peak time (1:30 on a Friday). The new safety precautions make checking out feel safe and easy, as they installed barriers at the checkouts, and floor signage to maintain social distancing. The other shoppers who were there at the same time as me were also respecting social distancing. Overall, this is still a great location and definitely one of the best, if not the best, Wegmans locations in the area! read more

I'm an tired of continuing to come home with meat to prepare for our meal for the day and it having a distinct odor that it is definitely spoiled. I was hesitant to purchase it as it was slightly discolored. I know you have meat department workers inspect food in the cases everyday, but their obviously not taking the discolored meats and checking for odors??? This location hardly has any other items I go into the store for. I always have to search for something, or I can't get the items I want because they are out of them. I like this Wegmans. Why? It's never too busy, finding a parking spot is easy, and it isnt too big nor too small. I'm not much of a Wegmans shopper besides for a few select items which I wont buy from anywhere else. I can walk in, grab what I want, and walk out without standing in a line for most of the time. The hot foods and prepared foods section doesnt have as extensive of a variety as other Wegmans, but it works. read more

I love picking up pre made food from the deli for quick meals. Their meatloaf is great! The green beans can be kind of greasy but once you shake them off a bit they're good. I have a love/hate relationship with Wegmans. The overall quality of their produce, seafood, prepared foods, baked goods and house brands is excellent. And unlike our other local major chain, they still have a dedicated natural foods department. (See attached photos for what became of one of those other store's natural foods department.) I've been to several parties where the food came from Wegmans catering, and everything was delicious and beautifully presented. I've never experienced anything but helpful and friendly customer service. There are always plenty of carts, open checkout lanes, and I can't remember the last time I needed to ask for a rain check. My gripe? Danny and company fill way too much shelf space with Wegmans brands, at the expense of common national brand items I have to go elsewhere to buy. I contacted their Consumer Affairs Department when several such items disappeared, and the response was that they have only so much shelf space and sometimes have to eliminate products that don't sell well in favor of those that do. Well, of course, but question its validity when I see four or five rows of products that start with "W", and zero comparable national brand products. Such is the nature of commerce, I guess. If you're a man who is currently pregnant, and your water could break any day now, then don't shop here. Instead, go to Pregmans. I'm increasing this Wegmans because I've come to like it better than the other locations. For those who have never lived in a "Weg State" (as opposed to blue state or red state), then you're missing out. Wegmans isn't the cheapest grocery store (it's also not the most expensive), but it is the best. In terms of atmosphere, selection, quality, service, decor, and basically everything you could ever want from a grocery store - Wegmans rules. It's miles better than the Ralphs and Vons and Albertsons of the west. It's more like a Gelsons, but cheaper, or in local terms, a Dash's, but cheaper. If you're used to Kroger or Giant or Food Lion, you're going to be very happy about Wegmans, although Kroger isn't bad. If you're into the Piggly Wiggly scene, you ain't seen nothin' yet. B b b b baby you just ain't seen nothin' yet. If you are a professional athlete in the UK, then you probably have a WAG, so you should shop instead at Wagmans. This Wegmans doesn't have as much stuff as the one on Sheridan, but it's my fave Wegmans in the area because it's a little quieter than Sheridan and a lot quieter than Alberta and Transit, and because the employees are a little friendlier and it just feels more relaxed. Sheridan is my go-to Wegmans but I can't count the number of times I've been whined at by employees about x, y or z which always seems very unprofessional. That hasn't happened at Alberta or Transit but those stores are headaches and nightmares in terms of parking lot and often feel like a zoo. And if you need a toupé, don't go here, go to Wigmans. Original review: At least it's not called Wedgiemans. That wouldn't be much fun to visit. If all the guys had wedgies. Girls, maybe I could live with that. I don't know. But then it would have to move to Ayer Dr. This Wegmans is pretty good since they redesigned it, it's usually fairly easy to get into and often not as busy as some of the other ones. Having said that, they don't have a lot of the things that my go-to Sheridan Drive Wegmans has so for that reason I drop them 1 star. Also they lose a star for the high prices. I just can't afford to shop at Wegmans anymore. But if I had a decent amount of money, I would absolutely love Wegmans and this is one of the nicest in the area read more

I can't say enough how everyone at this location is supremely helpful. I was looking for two very specific products - LaBrea GF bread and mushrooms in truffle oil. I have inquired with the Bakery, who had one of the front end come over. She looked all over, including asking a friend who works there that happened to be passing by who knew where they were located on the shelf. She also called around your neighborhood stores and found out that not only were they sold out but so are two other on the gluten-free bread. The mushrooms and truffle oil at the Olive bar, I forgot that's where they were from. LOL. I had gone into the app for the first time in probably three years looking for them and I had written a comment asking when they would return. The next day I got a comment back that they were a winter item but they would gladly add them to their olive bar now.Don't you know they are they were, waiting for me. :) I can't say enough about the Dick Road Wegmans location. Am I the only one who has a Wegmans they call their own? The one closest to where they live, the one they stop at two or more times a week, the one they have the entire store layout memorized? Needless to say, this is my Wegmans. I actually remember a lot about this location from before they completely remodeled and rebuilt all of their stores. I could remember coming here with my grandma and my mother as a kid, I remember running to the section with all of the magazines and searching for the newest issue of Nickelodeon Magazine, I remember the orange tile flooring and the sound the shopping carts made as they ran over every bump. And I remember the fateful day when they knocked the entire place down. Even though that was sooooo 2006, Wegmans has never stopped being a top grocery goliath in this area - and it definitely has everything going for it! This location doesn't have a lot of the cool stuff that some of the other Wegmans locations has, like The Pub restaurant or Alpine Made soaps for sale, but that obviously doesn't stop me from coming here. I feel like this might be one of the better organized Wegmans locations, compared to some of the others I've been to. Their organic section is definitely worth exploring, and Wegmans brand foods are typically a little cheaper than the name brand stuff, like their cereals and hummus. They have a tasty hot buffet set out here during the day, plus the sub and pizza shops, and a sitting area - so you can dine here too, in addition to all the grocery shopping you'll end up doing here! I usually pick up a sandwich or wrap from here for my work lunch. My favorite part? They're open 24 hours - so I can come here at 10pm hungry for snack foods and still get my wish. The prices in this store are really going up fast. I will no longer purchase any of the prepared foods. They have priced themselves out of my budget. Today, the store was out of 8 of 11 items I drove here for. There is a man who "shops" here, tall, in his late 60s, white hair, no glasses usually, and he is here every time I shop. He helps himself to the daily paper at the checkouts, without paying, and takes it to the dining area. He usually buys a cup of coffee. Today, he helped himself to a free bowl of soup, picking all of the veggies and meat out for his bowl, took crackers and walked to a table. He then helped himself to a free beverage. He never paid. He reads the paper for free, eats a free lunch, and leaves. Blows my mind. If I can see this every time I shop here, why can't any of the various managers and employees convening about the store see it? I also got home with my groceries and an item I paid for was not in the bag. C'mon, Wegmans, you can do much better. I will drive to Dick Rd next time. read more

This is specifically for the Wegman's Sub Shop. I've never been a big fan of subs - bread and meat, it's not anything appealing. I MAYBE eat one a year. But, today, on the way to visit my mom in Cheektowaga, I stopped by Wegman's to get a sub for her and I at Wegman's Sub Shop. I got a chicken finger (plain) sub with cheese and lettuce. I usually don't get any sauce or bleu cheese on the fingers, as they're always drenched in it and totally ruin the sub. I get a side of hot sauce and bleu cheese instead. The hot sauce was AWFUL tasting. The bleu cheese tasted like plastic, it was the worst bleu cheese I've had in Buffalo, or anywhere for that matter. The chicken fingers were very tough to bite through, most of the sub was just lettuce and a little bit of cheese. Very disappointed in Wegman's Sub Shop. I've always been a fan of Wegman's, and have always had a good sub whenever I've ordered one over the years. The Sub Shop wasn't busy, there wasn't any rush, so the food should have been great. I stopped here after an unplanned trip to Cheektowaga yesterday afternoon. From the outside, the store seems like any other Wegmans. I assumed I'd be able to get what I came for, but I wasn't expecting to be wowed. Contrary to my prediction, I was impressed by this store! They carry an expansive variety of both hot and cold prepared foods - more than I've seen at several other locations. As I perused this area of the store, I noticed that it remained extremely clean and organized despite the apparent onset of a late-afternoon rush. When I asked an employee where the nearest restroom was, she kindly escorted me there, citing its somewhat difficult-to-notice location. I appreciated her guidance, as I was in a hurry to get my shopping done and being led to the john probably saved me some time. In the produce section, I was able to find an item that is somewhat hard to come by locally, even at other Wegmans locations: Thai chiles. I cook with Thai chiles often, and am always relieved if a store I'm shopping at carries them in the first place. The batch I purchased from yesterday was the freshest I'd ever seen at any of the Wegmans locations I've shopped at, although the quality of the chain's produce is generally praiseworthy to begin with. I received quick and friendly service at the deli, just as I always do at Wegmans. The attendant who served me checked to see if the thickness of his first slice of hot soppressata was to my liking, which I appreciated. The Mediterranean Bar is small and therefore lacking - this is my biggest complaint. However, I survived without my cornichons; and, from what I observed, the bar is maintained attentively and the items offered seemed fresh. The booze selection was ample. There's a set of automatic doors that leads to additional stock if you can't find what you're looking for on display (most people know this exists at most Wegmans locations, but some don't, and I was one of them for a long time, so don't laugh at me for pointing this out). After stocking up on the heartburn-inducing and sickeningly sweet Smirnoff Smash drinks that I think are absolutely delicious, I headed to the packaged foods aisles. I noticed that at least one other reviewer has mentioned that the store is difficult to navigate. The aisles containing packaged foods are admittedly not what I would consider to be ideally organized. I had to do more searching and backtracking and circling than I would have liked. However, I blamed this on being used to the set-up of other Wegmans stores, and I found what I came for, so it wasn't THAT big of a deal. The cashier who handled my order was extremely upbeat and polite. I'm not the pickiest customer in the world, but the final person I deal with at a store typically leaves the most lasting impression on me. Therefore, this is a very important part of the shopping experience, and her kindness and sense of humor undoubtedly contributed to my high opinion of this Wegmans location. read more

The sub shop accidentally mismarked our full sub as hot, when it was a cold one. When we asked the older lady today to please fix it, she huffed and grabbed the sub and launched it in the gatbage. I don't enjoy shopping at Wegmans. There, I said it. Ban me from Western New York!!! Truth be told, I find it overpriced and so huge as to be overwhelming. I prefer small grocery like Trader Joe's, Aldi's, Pricerite, etc. That being said, I pass by this Wegmans quite often and have stopped in on more than a few occasions and find it to be one of the best in terms of organization and manageability. The staff, of course, is by default always very nice and will help you with anything you need. Late night this past weekend, I picked up some veggie low mein and pork fried rice for $5 a pop here and enjoyed the "Wegmans Chinese take out" (I got some healthy groceries too, I promise!). Overall, despite me being more drawn to other smaller grocery stores; this is one of the best Wegmans and I'll venture in here from time to time. read more

This Wegmans is growing on me. Its near the Airport, so when I'm out there I often stop by here on the way back. I feel like its a little smaller than other ones, however, it does feel longer than the others. This one has a really nice flower section that is different than some others, always nice. The prepared food section feels smaller to me, and has less seating than the others I frequent. However, they have a great bread section and a very easy checkout process, which is always nice in a grocery store. Parking here is easy, but I will say I usually go earlier in the day. If you come while the japanese guys are still at the sushi bar, they will make me fresh sushi rolls every time without cucumber(with a little persuasion). I love Wegmans. I will say, however, I don't buy their pizza dough because it makes the crust WAY too thick. Tops is my pizza dough go-to. Or Dash's. Anyway, I still love Wegmans. I come here almost daily, at the least, weekly. It is down the street from my work so I tend to frequent it on my lunch breaks. I always know where everything is and I hate feeling lost in a grocery store, so I'm glad that I don't feel that way here. They are always more organized than Tops is. I like organization and cleanliness, both qualities that Wegmans possesses. They are a little bit pricier than Tops and they don't always have the best deals, but I think that the overall quality and customer service is worth the couple extra bucks. Their subs are heavenly and their food bar is fantastic. Their sushi selection is really extravagant, too. I don't eat seafood but I like their spicy chicken summer rolls.
