There is so much to love about Wegmans that it is difficult to know where to start. The company itself is always winning awards for being the best company to work for in the country. They support local farms and brands, and do their best to give credit to the hardworking people who make it possible to enjoy this food. While Wegmans may not be the cheapest game in town, they go out of their way to ensure that the prices of everyday necessities such as bread and milk are always priced below competitors, going so far as to take a loss on every gallon of milk they sell. The Wegmans brand of goods is cheap and in many cases superior to the name brand, and if you've ever been shopping early in the morning, you've certainly smelled how wonderful their bakery is. Their preprepared food section is a model of how all grocery stores should run. Between the Sub Shop, $7 Entree and 2 sides dinner deal, the Asian buffet, salad bar and daily soups, there are more choices than one could ever imagine. Nearly every taste and dietary requirement is met in some way. The staff at Wegmans are always incredibly friendly and helpful. I usually shop late at night and whenever I cannot find something they always stop what they are doing to help me. The Foreign food section is the best I have ever seen in a supermarket and covers most of the bases if you've decided to try out a new Asian dish or make yourself some curry. The natural/organic/health food section is just as well stocked, featuring many great brands and prices that smaller stores like Feel Rite unfortunately cannot compete with. Finally, I must say that the bathrooms at Wegmans are simply the best public bathrooms I have ever used. They look fantastic and smell even better. I have never used a cleaner public bathroom in my life and I'd say it's worth coming just to check them out. read more

I am beginning to suspect that "Weg's" has a cult following in Western New York. It is a massive store, and space means there are lots and lots of reasonably priced options. (That said, the locals are quite aggressive steering their carts.) There are many prepared foods (the Asian selections are tasty), baked goods, an entire aisle of gluten free options, a sizable beer selection, fun kid carts-- in other words, something for everyone. Wegmans has been my #1 choice grocery store since I was a child. I frequent both the Dick Road and Transit Road, Depew locations. I especially love their fresh produce and bakeries. Everything is always so fresh and full of flavor. My recent favorite selection is the jumbo blueberries. A great snack on their own but a piece of Heaven when added to pancakes. I particularly like the service at the sub shop. The eating area over there is nice with the perfect amount of space and serves well for grabbing a quick bite on your lunch break. I also love their bakery. Wegmans can be pricy sometimes. It all comes down to comparing prices at wegmans versus other grocery stores to ensure you get a great deal. But, given the quality of products at Wegman's whether it's local grown produce or the deli, you're getting what you pay for. That's high quality. Wegmans is one of the first stores that comes to mind when thinking of something exclusive to this area. It's one of the first things ex Pat's miss about home. I have a special relationship with this particular Wegmans, as it was my first stop upon moving to Buffalo. I designated it as a place to meet my boyfriend, Lee as I know that all Wegmans have cafes and free WiFi, and it was familiar and comfortable to me (having been a loyal customer of the Lake Manassas, VA Wegmans for years.) This one was close to the hotel we'd booked, so this was a good meeting spot. We jokingly refer to this Wegmans as the "Get a Room!" Wegmans, as that was what a cranky lady yelled at Lee and I upon seeing our rather enthusiastic greeting. Overall, upon seeing several of the other Wegmans in Buffalo, this is probably close to the best one, giving the Alberta Drive one a run for its money. It is very large, and the produce section is roomy and spacious. The cafe area is the best one from a layout perspective as well. My only quibbles are there's a separate international section near the prepared foods, as opposed to an aisle, and that makes finding things a little confusing. The only other complaint is the "Make Your Own 6-Pack" section is either missing or I just couldn't find it, because the only part I could actually find was a small beer cooler with some of the 6-pack holders shoved next to it. In conclusion, this is overall an excellent Wegmans, and one anyone should enjoy visiting should they be in the area. Also a somewhat romantic spot if you like being yelled at. read more

But just LOOK at the pix I took of those fresh flowers in the bathroom - the one where patrons stand up to pee! Classy. It was a busy Thursday evening before July 4th. I have this thing when traveling where after a few days I NEED VEGETABLES and restaurant portions won't cut it for me, so we find a local grocery. Cooking in traditional hotel rooms obviously has an added level of difficulty, which is why I loved how many prepared food options Wegmans offered! I was able to choose from full size salads, lots of pre roasted veggies, full entrees, sushi and more! I always love wegmans for my shopping. Sometime it's more expensive but you get great customer service. Lately I've bought some products that went bad before their expiration date so I had to return them. The customer service reps were patient and attentative. They allowed me to switch out the bad product with a good one. Another situation that displayed great customer service was when I forgot my wallet at home. Instead of having to reshop, they bagged the groceries and set them aside so I could come back and pay for them easily later that day. read more

Wegmans is one of my favorite places in the world, besides sitting poolside in my backyard. They have everything you need here. My favorite location is the Sheridan Drive location, based solely on the seating area. It is open and you aren't sitting on top of each other. I love how they bring in fresh produce from local farmers. I eat very clean and healthy, and do find that the Shoppers Club card rarely has any offers on anything I would eat. read more

Pharmacy kept us for over 20 minutes filling out paperwork only to tell us that they "don't think " they accept our insurance and will have to get On the phone to verify and it will take only another 10-15 minutes. There is only one way to properly describe the beer selection (both quantity and quality) of the infamous Wegman's, and that is by using the tagline from the 1986 Transformers movie: "BEYOND GOOD. BEYOND EVIL. BEYOND YOUR WILDEST IMAGINATION." Their brand of grapefruit juice can probably cure cancer, world hunger, and the rapidly sinking economy. Wegmans reminds me of Whole Foods. It's an ENORMOUS grocery store with some high end products. Their selection of merchandise is vast and beyond compare to some other grocery stores I have ever been to. I love it! We need one in CA! But my primary reason for stopping by (not to "tour" the place) was to pick up sponge candy. For the record - I LOVE WEGMANS! This location is massive, and they have a great selection of groceries and food bar items. Conveniently located by the airport and a few hotels, visitors to the area should check this place out! While traveling in Buffalo for work, I found myself here a couple days a week for lunch and picking up items for dinner. This Wegmans had everything a boy could want and at such great places. I'm used to shopping at an expensive Stop & Shop, so this was a breath of fresh air for me. My one tip: beware the cost of your food bar items! I love Wegmans. I was obsessed with Wegmans, I could go any day of the week. It's like my second home, well not really. How could I not love it? They have fresh produce that won't go bad the next day, fresh hot food and salad bar, an ok sushi section, their subs are great, and the restroom is clean. This particular Wegmans is one of my favorite. The store is bigger than other Wegmans in Buffalo area. It seemed the store manager keeps the store well organized and clean. There's always parking available. What about customer service? So I purchased a dozen eggs and accidentally dropped the eggs on the ground right before I exited the store. One of the workers helped clean up the mess and they replaced my eggs. No fuss, no question asked. Moreover, the checkout aisles are always available for the customers and they're always helpful. Do you make a trip to 2 or 3 different supermarkets to get the best deal of the week in one day? I do rarely. I found the meat price are fair. and consistent. Also the price for eggs and milk aren't much different than Aldi's. When I come to shop on Tuesday or Wednesday, there are (usually) $1 or $2 off for the meat or italian sausages. Overall, I am satisfied with the products, excellent customer service, and the price of this store. Will definitely come again, and again, and again.... read more

Regarding: Sarah, manager of the W kids program at Wegmans on Sheridan Drive in Williamsville, New York. The manager of the W kids child minding room at Wegmans, Sarah, was incredibly insulting to my family. My son Anthony, age 7, is autistic. He, like every other autistic child, often needs to be redirected. On June 25 at 12 PM Anthony was in the W kids room. There were two employees in the room and four other children. One of the employees was standing in the corner with a cast on her foot and she was very disconnected from the children, not engaging in the least. Anthony was coloring on his own iPad with the crayons at W kids. He was also coloring on the table. He also took off his shoes. This seems to be a major offense in W kids area. When I asked Sarah she informed me that she was not allowed to touch the children and she was not going to be able to put Anthony's shoes back on him. Often, autistic children are unable to put their own shoes on because of the fine motor skills required. Simple redirection and employees who pay attention to the children they are taking care of would have eliminated these situations. Sarah, who identified herself as the manager, called me and reported that Anthony was being "very disobedient." She said that I need to return to W kids to retrieve Anthony immediately. When I arrived at W kids Anthony was sitting quietly with his iPad with Sarah standing anxiously at the gate awaiting my arrival. She was very aggressive and insistent that Anthony be removed from W kids immediately. When I asked her whether or not she has any experience with special needs children she informed me that she is very involved in the Special Olympics. This comes as a huge surprise to me considering her obvious distaste for and intolerance of children with special needs. I will be sure to inform the Special Olympics committee of this offense so that they may remove her from their program as well. In the seven years that Anthony has had autism I have never been compelled to make a formal complaint. I found her immeasurable loathing and disgust for special needs children to be shocking and disturbing. I have shared this message the entire autism community in Buffalo, including Summit Educational Resources, the largest provider of educational resources for children with special needs. I plan to send this email to Bornhava school, Buffalo Hearing and Speech school, and all of the elementary, middle, and high schools in the area. Please feel free to share this message with your community as well. In an effort to prevent other parents of special needs children from experiencing this outrageous atrocity, I am sharing this information. Aggression, loathing, and hatred of special needs children should not be tolerated by Wegmans. It is clear that she abhors and is disgusted by special needs children. It pains me to know that there are people in our community who are affecting our children and such a negative way. read more

I came here today, more specifically this evening as I was in the area. I normally go to the Williamsville location as it's closer. Neither here nor there, I ran into a cashier by the name of CONNOR, working in "7 items or less" I spoke as I normally would, hello, how are you he said nothing I then asked if he would place my items back into my cart because I forgot my bag. I changed my mind because it's extremely cold out tonight and I didn't want to have to bag my things up outside at my car. I apologized for the inconvenience, he started throwing my things into a paper bag, I had bread by the way he literally threw my bread at the bottom of my bag, no consideration at all. I thought that was extremely rude but I didn't say anything, he then told me that my card declined, but I was entering my phone number and didn't even insert my card yet. Not attentive at all and just had a terrible attitude and body language. Weird, could have been an off day for him. I still didn't say anything. I understand how hard customer service can be. I gathered my bag and was getting my receipt the people behind me were WHITE. HE WAS EXTREMELY CHIPPER WITH THEM, even greeted them. I didn't get a greeting or even a response after I greeted him as a black woman. Connor could be a racist, maybe he didn't hear me greet him, maybe he was having a bad day overall completely unacceptable. I am the customer. I stayed for a couple of weeks in the hotel across the street, and I came here on almost a daily basis. The to-go meals are (mostly) fantastic. The subs are yummy. I remember Wegman's from when I was a Canadian kid visiting relatives in Rochester. Now that I live in WNY and am buying the groceries myself I thought I'd check it out again. The rating is primarily for selection. You can get stuff here that you can't get anywhere else in town. Any cheese you want, beer from pretty much anywhere, and Marmite and Japanese curry cubes from the international section. If you need something specific and you only have time to stop in one place, stop here and they'll probably have it. You pay for all the awesomeness, of course. Most of your staple items will be vastly overpriced here. If you want ground beef, go to Save-a-Lot and get it for half the price of Wegman's. Wegman's will be my go-to place for things that I can't get anywhere else, but I can't justify buying my everyday cheese and meat here. ETA: okay, I lied about the everyday stuff. There are some really good loss-leader type sales where prices get as low as they do elsewhere. Chicken thighs are a dollar a pound, and boneless skinless chicken breasts are two dollars a pound. Eggs were a buck and a half for a dozen today. Keep an eye out for this stuff. read more

This is one of my favorite Wegmans. It's always pretty clean and organized. For the most part everything is pretty stocked even when going here in the middle of the night. Prices aren't too bad, and I've found them to be cheaper than Tops even with their Tops Bonus card deals ... I've seen 12 packs of pop here on sale for $3.33 a piece when Tops had a Buy 2 get whatever free but buying the same amount here would be much cheaper than getting the free ones at Tops with a $7ish dollar price for one same 12 pack. I love Wegmans sushi bar. Always have many fresh options again even during late hours. Everything in the carry out section is nicely arranged so it's easy to find everything you're looking for. I love a lot of Wegmans brand items as well... It is much cheaper to buy in bulk and the variety is so large that you can get pretty much anything. And I love that they have a big organic and gluten free section including the freezer right around those aisles. So much easier to find everything! Best part about it is smelling the cinnamon brooms and pinecones around this time of year right when you walk in and out the door. I'll be grabbing those next time I go! read more

There are more than 8 locations of this food marketplace chain that originated in Rochester, NY. that are on my way home from anywhere I may go. Just about every second day I stop at a location to pick up some fresh artesian bread or produce for dinner. On the weekends, I can get lost in their store for a hour or more just looking and sampling all kinds of nice things imported from far away as well as local offerings. When the first location came to my town I was a new married person and they even had a sewing department they discontinued long ago. They instead added a fresh pizza and sub shop with sub rolls beyond compare anywhere else, Cheese from everywhere with a health food section that keeps growing. All of this quite affordable and a staff that is always happy to help. Young people at the meat counter that will advise which cut to buy to insure a wonderful end result. A monthly magazine is available at the end of the counters for a couple dollars and offers really nice recipes that come from ingredients all easily found in the store with beautiful pictures from around the world to enjoy. Why are these people so happy? Could it be that they have been #3 of Fortune 100's Best Companies to work for? Do I like them because they are a recipient of the World's Most Ethical Companies" List by Ethisphere Magazine? With careful shopping there are many things within the store to keep one's budget economical and you could probably even accomplish your Holiday shopping in their stores as they have a book section, aromatherapy goodies, the largest tea section I have ever seen and CD's and videos as well as seasonal items and many choices of full place settings for daily or special occasion use. If Martha Stewart came in to one of the stores, she might never leave, especially when she sees just how much she can save in these stores. read more

Wegman's is awesome. The price is great. The inventory is great. The quality is great. I really never have any issues. It's even clean, roomy, good parking. The only issue I've ever had is when something is moved. The employees do not know where stuff is. Today the pita chips were moved. I was directed to the chip section, nope. I was directed to the bread section, nope. I was directed to the place where they were before they were moved, obviously no. I ended up stumbling into them on my way to the register. They were right outside the pharmacy, between beauty, meds, and organic food. And they are not organic. I've had this issue with frozen chicken, frozen fruit, and then pita chips. Otherwise. My husband and I were in the Wegmans on Dick Rd. in Depew getting lottery and decided to try the Market Cafe. I had previously tried another location's Market Cafe (Transit & Losson) & loved the chicken tenders so we figured we'd get some for dinner. Well we each took a takeout container and filled it with a few item. My husband got the mashed potatoes and meatballs with sauce. He said the mashed potatoes were very lumpy and the meatballs were ok but had an off taste. I got the chicken tenders and they were great. The garlic parmesan wings were horrible. They tasted spicy and not much garlic parm taste at all. I tried the mozzarella sticks and the cheese inside was hard, the arancini were ok but lacking taste. And to top it off a fresh hot big chocolate chip cookie which was hard. My husband had wanted the Swedish meatballs but they were cold almost frozen. We were very disappointed. Thank you read more
