The lines at checkout moved quickly: Self-service, 15 items and fewer, and lots of cashiers for customers stocking up as if they were pioneers crossing the Sierras. The fruits and vegetables were gorgeous and reasonably priced; the cheeses were sheep/cow/goat at all price points, but I was astonished at the cost of French pate. It's tripled since last year. We don't often go to Wegmans, so when we do, it's an absolute treat. Everything is just so beautifully displayed, and every piece of produce is at the peak of perfection. I made sure to cover the entire store, even though I was only picking up a few items. I had a youngster with me who had never been to Wegmans, and he was just blown away by the immense selection of fresh foods, prepared deli items, fresh meats, and fish. Wegmans seems to be responding to criticism of their inflated grocery prices, by highlighting Red Hot Deals throughout the store. Their Red Hot Deals actually bring their prices into line with TOPS Friendly Market. All the Wegmans is an immense store, each department feels like a little boutique shop under one big roof. And I have to say they have the cutest bathroom in any grocery store. read more

I am a Wegmans guy through and through. I don't really do a lot of shopping at many other stores because Wegmans has everything. Fresh produce, plenty of options on the shelves, and so many fresh options for meat, seafood, and bakery items. Literally one of the best places in the nation. You walk into a grocery store like this and you feel underdressed. Not that you have to dress up but this feels like an upscale market. The Buffalo folks will roll out outta bed and come here no problem. Bring an out of towner and they will think you're treating them to a full on experience. This trip, I grabbed some essentials, and then decided to hit the Prepared Foods area for some lunch. I ended up getting a chicken finger sub from the sub shop, and a slice of strawberry shortcake. Subs from Wegmans are among the best you can get from a grocery store and in general. The strawberry shortcake is always good here and I love when they have it in the summer months. Their bakery is great for ordering sheet cakes. Do it all online or go into the store and someone in the catering section will walk you through the process. We ordered the largest size with marble cake, half with vanilla pudding filling, half with chocolate pudding filling, and a whipped cream frosting. So delicious, and I'm not even a cake lover. We enjoyed the light, less sweet flavor of the frosting and the cake itself was very moist. Just remember to keep the cake refrigerated because the whipped cream will melt. Also, the cake decorators can't steer too far away from the standard writing and frosting roses, but they were so kind to help us find something that was simple and fit our needs. They ended up writing the names in a rainbow format. So sweet and the girls loved it. We will continue to use Wegmans for sheet cakes because of the great taste and decent price. read more

I can roll out of bed and go to most stores but for Wegmans, I have to at least put on outdoor clothes (not yoga pants and a wrinkled, oversized tee). It's not that there's a dress code but Wegmans just feels fancier than many other food stores and their displays and quality of food items seem a bit superior (in many cases at least). I love to cook so I don't really go through the prepared food section but everything looks so good and there are so many options. Produce is fresh and packaged nicely and their cheese section is amazing. Meat and seafood counters look spectacular and everything else is arranged well. The thing I don't like about Wegmans is that they don't carry a lot of brand name items and push Wegmans products. That's fine to an extent, and most stores do the same, but their selection of brand name items is EXTREMELY limited. I often have to go to other stores to get certain items that I regularly use. I love Wegmans. All of them are wonderful. The produce is fresh and flavorful and the prices are reasonable. They don't often have coupons because they sell mostly their own brand. But their brand far exceeds most of the other more popular brands when it comes to flavor. Prior to Covid, they had an incredible hot bar. However, Ive heard rumors that it won't be returning, which is actually really devestating because it was so nice to be able to have lunch or dinner after grocery shopping and it was always a popular section of the store. We treated ourselves with Sushi for dinner tonight. My husband brought home the shrimp tempura, tuna volcano and salmon volcano. All were very tasty, fresh, and filling for two people. We purchased three packs.. the tuna and the salmon had six pieces each, and the shrimp had eight . We shared them all. This location is great. I can see in for a new heating pad. I have a second job at Tops and should've bought the heating pad there. The Sunbeam brand that they were offering doesn't have auto shut off. I didn't realize that until yesterday morning when the heating pad was still on!!! I came here because it was on the way home from where I punched with a friend and because I love the bakery at Wegmans. Their cookies are amazing!!! I picked up some things that I didn't need. One of those things was artichoke Asiago hummus, which wasn't delicious or appetizing. I should've stuck with their original flavor, roasted red pepper, or garlic. I hate how they only push the Wegmans brand and one other brand. Their is no variety!!! But the staff are always kind and willing to go above and beyond. I'm not bragging about this Wegmans because it has the bottle return area inside the actual store and not in a separate facility that usually closes at 10pm and reopens the doors at 8am. Which doesn't fit into my schedule, so I am grateful I can return bottles at any hour I please. I'm also not bragging about this Wegmans because it's down the street from my friends apartment, and it's conveniently located down the street from my favorite restaurant, and do I mention there's not only a gas station across the street but my bank is also located right in front of the same plaza. No.. I'm bragging about this Wegmans because the produce is fresh, shelves are stocked and there's always an attendant willing to help you throughout the store. Customer service is top notch. Their huge spacious parking lot is always plowed in these colder months, and the parking lot attendants helped me push my over loaded buggy through the lot even though I told them I'd be ok. Their Mediterranean bar is clean, when I came here overnight, the women behind the deli counter was more than happy to help me get something I needed from the Mediterranean bar even though it was closed at that hour. Deli items are always freshly stocked and sliced that day. The sushi guys in the mornings are so nice, and if you ask they'll make you a special roll if you don't see the one you like. Definitely reccomend this location. It's a busy plaza, but so worth it - service and all. read more

Specific item. To the best of my knowledge, only available to Wegman's. This is the store that I purchased it from. OK, I rave about Wegman's. Cool store, great prices and new items. This time, it's Blu 61 Blue Cheese. Origination - Italy. It's bleu cheese that is, for lack of a better term, kinda brined in red wine. Sliced and served with cranberries, also soaked/brined. First taste, I wasn't all that sure. I love all the cheeses with mold apparent. I tried this, per my daughter's urging, and thought that it was just "OK". Aftertaste kicked in. I needed more. This Wegmans is an average Wegmans, not as modern as some of the others in the area. My only complaint for this Wegmans is that the layout feels very different than the other locations I go to, and that there's been a few times where they've been completely out of what I came in for. Because of that, this is not my primary Wegmans even though it's on my route to the gym. Store is well maintained, clean, and there's lots of options. Friendly staff. I think it's time for me to review this Wegmans after coming here almost every day. It is located on Transit road in Depew - Lancaster area, a very convenient location across from Walmart, Target, and Aldi's. I love Wegmans because they offer a great quality of produce, meats, and prepared food. This particular store is one of my favorite supermarkets (besides the one on Dick road); it's clean, the layout is the pretty similar to the other Wegmans, and it has a huge dining area. I have been a loyal customer for a long time and I am satisfied with their customer service. For example, The check out line is fast and the store supervisors make sure the smooth line for the customers. It is not a kind of store where you wait for 15 minutes just to get a pack of gum (which happened to me at a different retail store). Also, the staffs are helpful and friendly. Second, their produce are fresh and come from the local farms. They also sell tropical and exotic fruits (guava or dragon fruit) where you can't find at other supermarket. The Market Cafe sells variety of prepared hot food, salad bar, soups, sushi, and old fashion subs. The sushi bar now has more selections and the prices are slightly cheaper than if you get it from sushi restaurants. Their subs are huge and taste great. If you happened to be there, try the meatball subs (with your choice of bread, Italian is my favorite) with mozzarella cheese. Yumm!! Also, they have PIZZA. Not the best but if you're in the mood for one, it's only $2.99 per slice. Lastly, if you have sweet tooth and you aren't on diet, please come and check this section out. The bakery section offers fresh bread, cookies, and pastries every day. Chocolate cake! Yes, they have the best chocolate cake with ganache in Buffalo. One time, I came here around 6am and I could smell the fresh aroma of baked bread. The whole experience makes me happy and keeps bringing me back to this place. This is the top shelf of supermarkets. After moving to Buffalo from the South, I became instantly enamored with Wegman's. I s'pose I could try and compare Harris Teeter or Publix, but from what I remember about those two, they don't come close. From the sub shop, to the coffee shop to the wing bar to the sushi shop to the bakery...I could go on and on, and still not do the place any justice. The place has a child care center and movie night, for goodness sake! They have varieties of anything you could want or need from a supermarket. Wegmans has been my #1 choice grocery store since I was a child. I frequent both the Dick Road and Transit Road, Depew locations. I especially love their fresh produce and bakeries. Everything is always so fresh and full of flavor. My recent favorite selection is the jumbo blueberries. A great snack on their own but a piece of Heaven when added to pancakes. A mega-source of antioxidants, they are one of the only ways you can make pancakes healthy. LOL! read more

This review is for take out delivery only..The Pizza they was delivered has to be the worst pizza I ever had, and I've had a few in my lifetime. This pizza is worst than any frozen pizza and home made on white bread. Does anyone taste test this garbage? My dogs didn't even want it... I never thought eating a grocery could be good until I ate at Wegmans...Not only do they have a large selection of different types of foods but a lot of the stuff is pretty darn good too.... I ate a variety of their Sushi for a while until I was eating too much of it, and finally grew tired of it. Their salad bar is decent, although I am not a salad head. Their soups are not too bad....I am a fan of their shrimp bisque. I also just tried their Caribbean black bean soup with jalapeno and cayenne pepper - pretty darn good. I was not a big fan of their clam chowder. Their wok bar has some tasty stuff on it...Some of their spicy chicken stuff is pretty good,and HOT as well (and I'm a chili head). I just recently saw some catfish there that looked good that I want to try. One of my favorites there is their Tuscon Lasagna...It is made with a beef/pork mixture and has wine incorporated into it, mmm.... Their eggplant is also pretty good...Manicotti is meh, ok.... I thought there cheese and pepperoni pizza was rather average. Their breakfast sandwiched are cheap and fast...The only thing I don't care for is the fake eggs. But if you are in a hurry and want breakfast it will do...The bacon is not half bad, and you can go with your choice of English muffin - white, wheat, or multigrain, The wheat is good. Over all I think this is a great place to go to especially if you are with people and each person might want something different....Just watch it when you load those containers up with food, they add up fast !!! 8.49 lb. Moldy fruit every time, not fresh sushi, employees that have no regard for customers (just plain rude) and most recently, the pharmacy is just awful. The supervisor for the pharmacy had no problem telling me how wrong I am about a rx I was trying to have filled for my special needs son. Telling me that he has proof that a tech called the doctor, and my doctor saying they have no record of anyone calling. Still no solution after being on the phone arguing with me telling me I'm wrong. I've had my doctor for 12+ years with no problem, and a pharmacy for about 4 months with nothing but issues. I am giving Wegmans 3 stars for always having enough employees in the store and in truth they are a very good operation. Plus, I really like the sub shop. However, every time I go in there, I get more and more irritated with the layout. No matter which way you go, somebody is in the way. The way they place their displays causes everyone to have to squeeze through narrow aisles, nooks and intersections. Do they do this on purpose? If so, I hope they know that it makes my blood pressure go up every time I go there, even to just pick up a loaf of bread or a 6-pack of beer. There is always somebody who stops along with their cart and blocks one of the congested thoroughfares so you have to back up and find another way around them, only to have somebody coming from another direction get in a near-collision with you. Grrrrrrrr. Shopping there stresses me out. When I shop at Tops, everything is wide-open, linear and I have little trouble moving through the store. In most ways Wegmans IS a better store than Tops but why can't they come up with a layout that makes people more comfortable to shop there? read more

REVIEWING: CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT This review is for the customer service department. An older woman who works at the front is not kind. Several months ago I went in to buy stamps with a 20 bill and she actually held it up to the light to see if it was real. I felt so embarrassed. The second time I had to return a fidget spinner because I bought my son the wrong color. She wanted to see the receipt for the one he was holding (which I showed her). Wegman's gets a great deal of hype and credit in any town where they have a store. All of the praise is well deserved. As a supermarket, Wegman's is priced competitively. I typically observe that they beat most if not all competitors in price for comparable items. With that said, Wegman's absolutely leave its competitors in the dust when it comes to size, cleanliness, organization, and amenities. The stores are impressive in their size, but they really make everything easy to find. The place must be cleaned meticulously, and often, because everything is spotless, from the checkouts to the aisles to the restrooms. Wegman's stocks almost anything you can imagine. Groceries are the obvious specialty, but if you walk through the store, they have almost anything else you could need around your house. In my opinion, only Wal-Mart beats Wegman's in terms of "number of different items sold". The other HUGE part of Wegman's is their cafe area. They have so many different food options for eating either in-store or to go. Wegman's is an awesome place to go for lunch. They have Italian, Chinese, pizza, wings, a sub shop, sushi, and more. I seem to end up shopping at locations where the staff is usually friendly and helpful, but the clientele are some of the grumpiest, self-absorbed, and rudest people all in one location. Its really sad when I find nicer people at the Aldi across the street. I can't even blame it on the location. However, that is my only complaint about this location. The staff, over all, are some of the nicest workers I've met since Trader Joe's back in Indianapolis. The pre-made Wegmans food is actually pretty good, even the sushi, and I know the rule with grocery store sushi. And don't even get me started on how great the subs are! Prices are pretty fair considering the quality of the off-brand food. This is just a review for the subs at the depew location. We used to love the quality and freshness but the past several times have been so disappointed. So much so that I'm writing this review. Praise for the women of the Losson Rd Wegmans. As usual, Wegmans delivered with their top notch customer service. Had lunch here with my friend and daughter. Woman at the pizza counter asked if she could cut up my little girl's slice so it would be easier to eat. How nice! The woman at check out went the extra mile to let my 2 year old choose a sticker. While eating, another woman asked if she could help us clean up. When I suggested wet wipes would be helpful to parents with little ones in the dinning area, she immediately brought over her manager to share the idea. As far as food, my little one had pepperoni and bacon pizza, my friend had Chinese, and I had a tuna sub. All the food was good, but the kindness of the employees really stood out! read more

Its a Wegmans in Buffalo - so its a mecca for me when I am looking for a quick lunch. The parking lot is a bit of an adventure to get in and out of (think Pittsford - not East Ave). The store is an older version of a new Wegmans. They have put in a hot bar, sub shop, and all that stuff, but it is cramped in the corner and there isn't much room to move around. The seating area is pretty spacious and there is a TV with a couple chairs and a couch in the corner. It does have a patio area which is a bit plus in my book, being able to sit outside and eat is a great thing. read more

What's not to love about Wegmans? Their produce is ALWAYS beautiful. They have amazing recipes for how to prepare veggies. You can get these recipes online and when they give out samples. Their prepared food is delicious. My husband and I regularly get their rotisserie chicken and a $7 meal of four sides to split. I find their prices to be a little high. Most things are cheaper than Tops, unless they are on sale, but always more expensive than Aldi. To get the best price, buy their family packs. Their app is amazing! I use the app to create a grocery list and it organizes it by isle, which saves me soooo much time!
