You have to try the Polish staples - plazek, poppyseed roll, and obviously their chrusciki. This last time I had their cheesecake and I just wish it was creamier; however, I loved the crust, which wasn't overly sweet. WARNING!!!: I placed an order over a month ago at Chrusciki Bakery. My money was accepted but never received my order. I called 5 times, no answer. I left detailed messages. The 6th time I did get an answer and was told she could not do anything about it and I should email them with the issue which I did. I did not hear back and it has been 4 weeks. I called again and was told by Kym that she could not do anything about it but she would report this and personally call me back when accomplished. This never happened. I called one final time and spoke with Kym. I told her I would be reporting the bakery on social media if I do not get my money back. Still no resolve. The quality of their product regardless has decreased so stay far and away from this place certainly there are top-notch bakeries that know how to handle customer service and not just bake expensive cakes. read more

Stopped by again for dessert to go with my friend after we had dinner at Sto Lat. I really wanted another iced latte but without the caffeine as it was so late, and she was able to make it decaf - this time I got the hazelnut sticky toffee with oat milk ... it was also very good! Stopped in here while I was out to grab some dessert for dinner! I was over by Eastern Hills and really wanted something to treat myself. Look no further than the fan favorite of this spot: the White Almond Raspberry cake. These slices were HUGE and only $5 each. You can't go wrong with these. I could barely finish mine. The frosting is so light and fluffy. The cake is perfect for the raspberry filling. Put it all together and the slice is perfection. It has good flavor in every bite and can fill you up just as much as the dinner beforehand. They have so many good treats in the bakery, so you really can't go wrong read more

Total hidden gem. I found this place while I was driving by, and ended up stopping for a quick lunch. The inside is absolutely gorgeous, definitely an upscale/modern vibe. You could the place was hand curated and well thought out. The bakery is a good size, with a huge selection of different pastries, that looked so good that I had to grab a macaroon on the way out. Their lunch menu was very limited with only 5-6 items. I ended up getting the roasted pear salad but substituted for goat cheese and no prosciutto. The salad was exactly what I was looking for, light, high quality, and tasty. I was honestly shocked it wasn't more busy when I walked in because everything looked and tasted so good and the prices weren't crazy. My salad was $12 but that's pretty much the standard rate nowadays. I'd say the pricing across the board were very standard and what you would expect. Not super expensive, but not dirt cheap. The quality though is what stuck out about everything. The macaroon I ended up getting was legitimately the best one i've ever had. I haven't had a ton of macaroons, but you could tell it was handmade. If you have a sweet tooth I'd definitely recommend coming here. Very tasty baked goods!! The name of the day on social media for a free treat was my husband's, and he normally doesn't go, but I mentioned how it is mother's day weekend after all and I wouldn't hate treats, so he went!! The free treat was the white almond raspberry swirl cake, and it was great!! The cake was a smidge on the dry side but it's probably more to do with it being presliced and stored in containers than anything else. The raspberry cream was perfect and the icing on top was just how I like it, thick and sweet!! You have to purchase something to get the free cake so my husband also bought a chocolate chip cookie and a chocolate mousse cake. The cookie was thick and soft and full of chocolate, which is perfect in my opinion. The mousse cake was pretty good, with chocolate cake on the bottom, topped with a thick vanilla mousse and then chocolate ganache. All the parts were delicious, I just thought it would a little better if the toppings were more evenly distributed and not just on top. Otherwise, no notes! Huge assortment of baked goods and dessert. So far I've only tried the macarons which are double the size of macarons elsewhere, but about the same price. Did you know, on Fat Thursday in Poland, an average of 100 million 'pączków' are eaten every year?! It's 2.5 'pączek' per one Pole! It's a tradition almost everyone follows and I'm not surprised why:). Plus, there is a superstition that whoever does not eat a 'pączek' on Fat Thursday will not be successful in life for the next year. Ouch! I was positively sure Chruściki Bakery would provide enough traditional types of 'pączki' on Fat Thursday, with plums and rose filling. I was wrong. They were out of my favorite kinds. Instead we got triple portions of bad black gooey raspberry jelly. It practically ruined everything. Not anymore. Hopefully next year we'll be able to travel to Canada and eat real 'pączki', or keep searching around. One more thing, why do most of the baked goods at Chruściki Bakery not have a price on them? The last few years, except 2020 and this year for obvious reasons, loved to go to the Broadway Market downtown right before Easter and shop all the various vendors. One of our favorites was Chrusciki Bakery and just the vast array of baked goods (we LOVE pastries) but as of 2021, we saw they were not at the Broadway Market anymore and instead were asking patrons to come to their new storefront in Eastern Hills Mall. I've been a few times now and every time I walk away incredibly happy. Their storefront in Eastern Hills Mall is gorgeous inside and they offer a HUGE array of baked goods along with gelato and coffee-style drinks. They also offer a dine-in experience but as of 09/2021, I haven't tried that yet. The staff working behind the baked good counter though are very courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. Whenever I see a new pastry I've not seen before, they're able to explain what it is and describe it a bit. I also follow Chrusciki Bakery on Facebook and they do an awesome job posting updates. For example, I came on a Sunday where they had reduced hours as they were hosting a wedding reception that afternoon, which helped me plan when to stop by and I knew this all because they had a post up on their Facebook page about it. With the Eastern Hills Mall not having as many storefronts as it had in its past glory, there is PLENTY of parking here. As for the pastries they offer, I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. I've tried their Bavarian cream-filled pączki (my first pączki ever!), peanut butter/chocolate mousse bar, apple cinnamon roll, almond raspberry cake, chocolate hazelnut pretzel, and raspberry swirl pretzel. Honestly, I have no complaints about any of them - everything they make is super high quality and simply phenomenal. If someone asked what they should try first, I'd probably say go for a chocolate mousse bar or apple cinnamon roll. Their pretzels are excellent, just go in expecting a more pastry texture and flavor, rather than what you'd get with a traditional pretzel, but you'll be plenty happy with the final product. :) Their prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity they are producing. Chrusciki Bakery is a Buffalo-staple and has quickly become one of my favorite local shops to pick up a sweet treat! read more

We purchased some chrusciki, placek, and some macarons from Chrusciki. As usual, I'm a fan of the chrusciki. The Macarons were the 2nd worst I've ever had, the worst being store-packaged from Marshalls. The macarons were sold in a 4 pack for $12, tasted more like an over-sweetened oreo cookie, extra crumbly yet hollow, and basically everything a macaron should not be. This is an equivalent of if Ford started manufacturing cardiac pacemakers. his was our most disappointing part of our wedding. We had ordered three tiers of red velvet cake, because we were told it would be amazing in photos contrasting the white dress, and instead got two layers of chocolate for the guests and only the top anniversary layer was red velvet. There are so many flavors offered and I would have picked something better like almond instead of plain chocolate if I knew this would happen. When we let them know about the error and sent photos, they first said it was really dark red velvet, then said well they're the same flavor so we got what we wanted as chocolate just without the food coloring to make it red, which I am shocked a bakery would say since that wouldn't be true red velvet, and then they ended up giving a partial refund for 26% of the one cake without admitting how no one noticed that the bottom two layers were different colors/flavors than the top, especially when I verified the order the week before the wedding for accuracy. It also looked like a box cutter had cut some slices into the icing when opening it from delivery. And our cake topper was dropped off weeks in advance, and three days before the wedding we were emailed at night asking if we dropped it off and what it looked like because they had not found it. We had dropped it off in a box specifically made to keep it from breaking and I thought the box would be returned to us with the insert and everything but instead we came home with a cracked cake topper. At least they found it. The cake was moist but the business end handling the situation of getting the incorrect order and care with delivery fell very short. Our photos cutting the cake were ruined since we couldn't control the confusion on our faces trying to figure out what happened to our cake. The guests who had the vanilla cake from the back were happy with the strawberry filling though. read more

I went to the Broadway market for Easter 2021 cause it was open! But was thoroughly disappointed to find that Chrusciki was no longer there! The pierogis and the almond rings and pasticotti cookies are the things that bring me back yearly! So I ventured 25 min to the transit location and it was everything I wanted and so much more - I got an amazingly delicious almond ring and placek. I ate some in the car as soon as I left:) The case of pasties was completely full and I wanted to buy so much. They also have gelato. I placed an order of custom cookies to announce my first pregnancy to my family. I specified that I wanted blue and pink colors on the cookies. When I received my order, black had been used for part of the writing. On over half of the cookies, the black writing bled so badly that it was hard to read the writing. Where blue and pink colors were used, the colors were very muddled, not at all like the pastel colors you would expect for a baby theme. The blue looked more like gray. In short, the cookies looked absolutely awful and not at all what I had ordered. I contacted the bakery asking for a refund, as I was incredibly upset with how the order turned out, especially for such a special occasion. I spoke with the bakery manager and was treated incredibly rudely. I was treated as though I was just trying to get my order for free. I was refused a full refund even though the entire order was incorrect. I was told that I would have to return the cookies to receive a refund, or they could be remade but would not be available until the next week. I had already planned a family gathering to announce my pregnancy, so obviously I needed the cookies for the day I had picked them up. I never received any sort of apology, only excuses from the owner that the bakery was busy that day. I understand mistakes happen, but for as much as this bakery promotes itself in the area, there is no excuse for treating customers this way when such an important order is ruined. On my way to Simply Pierogi, I heard all the beautiful, delicious pastries and desserts calling my name at Chrusciki Bakery! I have a HUGE sweet tooth and I wanted to try them all, but I held back. The presentation of the pastries was fantastic. Like they say, we eat with our eyes, right? I finally narrowed my decisions down and ordered a raspberry crumb bar and a cannoli. 10/10 delicious. The crumb bar was delicious- tart and not too sweet. I really like the crust and the crumble was too die for!!!! They had other flavors such as apple there so I gotta go back and try them too lol. The cannoli was also good but tasted like a typical cannoli. The gelato was very tempting but I was too full after dinner to try it. Ordered a raspberry almond cake from them. Was expecting it to be 3 tiered (that's how they sell their slices in store) and I paid extra for real raspberry filling (I don't know why they use that red gel stuff). I received a two tiered unleveled cake with whole raspberries jammed in an inch of buttercream frosting. This cake had so much frosting it was beyond disappointing/boarded disgusting. When this is served semi cold the buttercream is just a brick. I wish I would of taken a picture of the center. This is a bakery that could easily pick-up Dessert Deli customers, but I think they need to clean up their work/quality control. We purchased macaroons from them also and they were so old and stale. Here's how I landed on my four star rating: ** 5 Stars for Venue: Chrusciki is part of a new space with a trio of eateries which includes this one, Sto Lat Bar, and Simply Pierogi. The venue is modern, sleek, large and spacious, comfortable, and sparkly-clean. Pleasant outdoor seating is available when the weather is agreeable, too. ** 5 Stars for Service: The counter staff at Chrusciki Bakery know the products very well. The baked goods case is loaded with a dozen-plus options at anytime, many of which are just as hard to spell as Chrusciki. Anyone who has waited on us is very kind, and knowledgeable with any questions we have about the sweets. ** 5 Stars for Hours: Chrusciki is open on the weekend until 10pm. The hubbs and I have stopped to enjoy these later-night hours after dinner, a perfect coffee and dessert stop. The bakery counter closes at 10pm, but tables stay open until 11pm, when the bar closes. The cold ice cream made the apple filling congeal to almost glue-like, definitely would have been much better served warm. The cheesecake was very good, my fave so far. I'm moving onto cookies next, hopefully they will taste as good as they look. So overall, I score Chrusciki a high-4. I will continue to eat my way through the bakery case to hunt for a dessert that really rocks my socks. There are so many, with fair pricing on specialty desserts such as this (about $3 - $5 per dessert, most pretty large in size), so I'm sure that I'll eventually land on something perfect for me. We recently discovered Chrusciki Bakery and we really enjoy it! They have a wide selection of pastries and breads, and pierogis. It's very spacious inside, as they share the same space as Sto Lat Bar. The downside to this bakery is it's too close to our house, lol, have to stop ourselves from going everyday. The staff is very friendly and they take the time to describe anything in the case for you and have even recommended a few items too.
