It's been awhile since I went to Blaze. There's so many good pizza places in Buffalo but Blaze seems to be a quick stop whenever I am up on the Blvd. I always make my own pizza here and usually I get the same kind of toppings and crust. The high-rise crust is my favorite cause it gets a little less floppy and holds all the weight of the toppings better. Because you can get as many toppings as you'd like, why not load it up? The service here is usually pretty quick and they have a good system of getting you through the line and baking the pizza is pretty fast too. I was able to order a couple of pizzas and get them home before they cooled down. The one downside i found at this visit was the drink station. The lids for the cups were all stuck together and a pain to get apart. There was a few drinks out on the machine and it just seemed like a little bit of a forgotten area. When Blaze first opened this location, we were excited to try it and it did not disappoint. The service was fast and efficient, and the pizza was excellent. Unfortunately, something has changed over the past two years, and this location has noticeably declined. The service is now slow and inattentive. Employees tend to ignore customers waiting in line, moving without any sense of urgency and appearing unsure of their responsibilities. On my most recent visit, I brought a friend who had never been to Blaze. We arrived shortly after opening to find only two customers ahead of us. Despite the light traffic, employees walked around flattening dough and looking lost, with no one stepping up to take orders. After several minutes, a young woman finally approached and got us started. They completed the orders for the two customers ahead of us, then shifted to what appeared to be online orders, leaving us waiting again. When they eventually got to us, one employee worked carefully and methodically -- the pizzas were well-made -- but the pace was very slow. I then stood at the register for several more minutes before anyone came to take payment. Throughout the entire visit, the overall impression was that in-person customers are simply not a priority. The pizza itself was delicious, though our two orders came out separately despite being made back-to-back. The dining area also needs attention. There is debris collected in the corners and food crumbs left on the chairs. I did notice they finally fixed the giant tear in one of the booth cushions. That was an improvement over my last visit. This is one of the most interesting and delicious pizza places. They have most flavorful pizzas with so many options. My personal favorite pizza is the 4 cheese pizza. Their ricotta cheese is so good. They have great options for spice or for flavors. I like their chili oil and all the toppings they keep on the counter like cheese and red pepper. Their service is very good the people cooking the pizzas do a great job and are so skillful. I love their giant pizza oven so classic. While waiting, we witnessed one worker with his jacket on eating takeout from another restaurant over the prep area, also another worker laying the pizza peel on the garbage can scraping off the peel flipping it over laying that on the garbage can opening and doing the same. We used to love it. The options especially for gluten free and dairy free. But you have to order and wait forever and the crusts are not always cooked through. And don't order delivery. You'll wait forever over an hour with more than once we've only gotten half our order delivered. It used to be better. But it just so busy that the quality suffers. They need another location. Today was a cold, windy, wet miserable day! I was supposed to be enjoying a wonderful event with chefs cooking up amazing dishes but my immune system could not fare that weather outdoors. I decided to come here and redeem a free voucher I won for an 11 inch pizza since I didn't intend to cook today and I must say I am so happy this voucher got me to try this place because it is so delicious! You can choose from some their own signature pizzas or create your own and it will be wood-fired to perfection! I chose to make my own: original dough, white sauce, fresh mozzarella, parmesan, roasted garlic, red onion, fresh basil, oregano, and balsamic glaze. It was deliciousssssssss!!!! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO BLAZE PIZZA! Wow the department of health needs to pay a visit to the Niagara Falls boulevard location. I can't believe the disgusting things I have witnessed in this place the owner should be arrested. There are cameras all over this place but who is watching them ? I watched for the 35 minutes I had to wait for a 3 minute pizza in an empty restaurant the most vile gross group of employees all of them from the cashier going from handing cash to touching food to the employee who takes the order to the workers prepping the food to the person dumping new food over the old food that's been sitting out probably the entire day . And all were on their cell phones while the line just got longer and not once did anyone ever change their gloves not once. Some did not even put gloves on one girl who was pressing out the dough had an un gloved hand using her phone and pressing the dough with the other and couldn't get the dough to come out in one round piece but it didn't matter she served it anyway. The garage cans were overflowing the place is filthy not one employee got off their phone to clean anything. I going back but this time I will have my cellphone out but I will be taking videos of this gross disgusting place and sharing it with everyone. Ahh Blaze, where do I start with them. I've been a patron for years now. I remember my experience when they first opened like it was yesterday. I was absolutely in love with how you can build your own pizza as quick as a chipotle bowl down the assembly line. Seems like more restaurants have been using this style lately. Excuse the picture, I was very hunger haha. Nonetheless, Blaze Pizza is like the Subway of pizza making. The way you order is similar in style as you can pick from the signature selections or you can make your own & go down the line to choose your toppings. I really enjoy Blaze Pizza because it is quick, inexpensive & customizable. I love how thin the pizza is & the crunch it has but ultimately you can do thick crust, gluten free crusts, etc. The options are endless here. The employees are always kind, quick, clean & they really communicate well at this location as there is always someone doing something. I love coming here but recently I've been noticing some issues in the past year. I love the food but it hasn't tasted the same. It is has either been undercooked or overcooked and the dough has a different flavor. Additionally, this place is filthy. The staff touch their phones consistently throughout their shift (while they are cooking) and the floors are disgusting. I am never pleased when I come in and I can't believe workers are allowed to use their phones when the customers are relying on them to keep their food safe and clean. read more

I am disappointed in this Blaze. It was once a treat for us to drive 25 minutes for Blaze pizza, but it has been disastrous the past two trips. This trip they lost my pizza, and I had to get a refund. It took ten minutes for the representative to figure out the refund. I do not know what happened, but they are falling fast. The crew that was there tonight needs training. They seemed lost, except for one female, and everyone but her was either rude or disinterested. One plus was that they did offer to make a new pizza, but the service was so slow, I opted for a refund. Also, the tables and seats are in need of repair. We will give it six months or so to get things fixed, and then we will see if it improves. I hate to see a restaurant I enjoy failing, so I hope Blaze makes a comeback. read more

I arrived close to 7 yesterday on Wednesday night. They were getting a ton of pick up and delivery orders. The pick up line was quite long, but I was first in a line of maybe 10 to order. It seemed they had a full crew, but I heard some of the young people complaining to one another about the volume of orders coming in. Some of the comments included "Oh God, it's starting again", and "no, not again" and "FML." So I commiserated with them and thanked them for enduring it so I could eat at my favorite pizza place. Just an aside in case a manager is reading this. I honestly laughed. I love how little F's Gen Z gives. I worked at Starbucks and Chipotle as a younger person, and the elderly people would sigh in exasperation at any delay and tut tut without any sympathy, but we would just kowtow and apologize for their wait. Blaze is all about consistency. Pizza is my favorite salty food and traditional pizza places don't let you have the variety or quantity of toppings without paying exorbitantly. Granted it's a lot larger, but I don't need an XL anyway. I got a high rise build your own as I always do. The pizza was very good as usual at Blaze when not overcooked (that's the only issue I've found to look out for with Blaze). The restaurant was very clean despite the rush and the stations were all stocked. I did not use the rest rooms, so can't speak to them. My favorite aspect was that they let you key in gift card numbers. Bear with me as I know this sounds weird. The most frustrating thing about Blaze back home in NC is that they rarely know how to enter gift cards in their POS. Blaze gift cards don't have bar codes, just 20 digit long #s. I keep the numbers and balances in my Apple Notes ready to go, so I can show the employee, but they always struggle with it. This location made it so easy. The staff I've encountered are very nice, but it's always dirty inside the restaurant. Unwiped tables, dust, garbage, etc. Pizza is sometimes a bit on the burnt side, but not unbearable. I really hate leaving bad reviews. If I don't like a restaurant, odds are I probably just won't patronize it again and leave it at that. But this...this was a uniquely bad experience. I ordered the vegan pizza and the cheese bread with vegan cheese, for delivery through Uber Eats. What I received was a non vegan pizza with basil leaves and fresh mozzarella. The cheese bread, while it did have the correct cheese, also had a piece of pepperoni on it. Now, I'm a new vegan. I didn't give up meat and dairy all that long ago and I'm not going to get sick from eating either of these items. Which I did, so as not to waste food and because dealing with wrong orders through Uber Eats is a hassle and a half. But if you're a longtime vegan/vegetarian or have a food allergy, man, I cannot stress enough how much this is NOT the place to go. It was my first experience with it and 2/2 items were messed up. The Blvd is *ALWAYS* busy & I usually avoid it like the plague, but today's visit was prompted by the fundraiser being held for Queen City Pitties. Most shops along the Blvd are busy and Blaze pizza was no exception. We arrived at 6 pm; there were a stack of orders waiting to be fulfilled and people waiting to receive them. I bought a keto crust white top pizza for myself. The crust was crisp but it honestly could have used a LOT more sauce. Even with the cheese, bacon & other toppings, I struggled to get past how dry each slice was. The cashier didn't hear me ask if Coke Zero was an option and I was disappointed to see after paying for my order that it was indeed a fountain drink option (just not a pre-packaged "grab & go bottled option). Finally tried this place out its very good! I love the make your own pizza format it's infinitely customizable and pricing was pretty great over all as well. Pizzas are wood fired and very tasty as well. A personal size pizza is just about perfect for one person for a meal. WOW. I'd not heard of Blaze Pizza, probably because the only one in the area is about 15 miles round trip. But now that I've had one, distance doesn't seem relevant. The kickers were the balsamic drizzle and the roasted garlic. Thin crust, yes, but well capable of holding whatever toppings you wish. I loved how the glaze and sauce went all the way to the edges. No, we'll be right with you, no give us one sec, not even eye contact. Literally just pretended everyone in line didn't exist. All the girls in the back leisurely set up everything while not even paying a glance at the line that was slowly building up. 25 minutes later I had my pizza. Everyone in the place was getting frustrated by the super laissez-faire attitude of the staff. This is a constant if you get there early. this was the most painful dining experience I've ever went through in my whole entire life. It's a great idea on the service as a subway pizza place actually sounds like a great thing on paper. Never had a bad experience but today me and my fiancé went and right of rip he suspected something was wrong just by the way his dough was looking. It was dried up and cracking definitely has been sitting out then as we proceed because I kept saying well we love blaze and then when we got to sit down and eat I noticed how severely burnt my pizza was and then not even 10 minutes in to eating he notices a hair cooked within his dough. I did take it to a worker and all they could offer was free pizza vouchers. I don't ever want to come back again sadly so no need for the free pizza vouchers. I did want to note that hair nets should always be used when cooking food and lots of cross contamination happening with same gloves and more.
