My daughter and I ate at Panera on Soncy. We had a gift card. This store does not come near in either food or service to other Panera we have visited. At 4:30 pm it was virtually empty, and it still took several minutes for the sever (who was new) to wait on us and even longer to answer some simple questions about a sandwiches ingredients. And the supervisor overseeing her also has issues answering the same questions. After eating we decided to have a desert and my daughter waited for 10 minutes and was never acknowledged, so no desert. Stopped during a road trip to grab some broccoli cheddar soup and a sandwich. There was literally nothing but broth and a few strings of carrots in my soup, no broccoli just straight liquid. I should've acknowledged the red flags as I saw them, there were zero customers, place was empty except for two employees, no a/c running it was hot, the sink in the women's rr is falling off the wall and the toilets were flooded. Ughhhh the last few times I have visited any Panera bread I was disappointed, but I hoped that maybe, just maybe this was a fluke. Sadly it's not. Panera was good years ago. This location sealed the deal. I will NEVER return to a Panera bread. High prices for crap food. Today the salad was, no joke, just a big bowl of romaine lettuce, barely any toppings. My friend got the pizza baguette and it was the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. It looked like watery pasta sauce, with no more than 6 pepperonis for the entire sandwich. I usually order on the app and they usually have it done within 15 minutes and the food is always done right and very tasty, they are polite at this location as well, I dine at Panera often and the inside of the restaurant is nice as well it is usually very calm and quiet and I find that the kiosks are very convenient! read more

I have heard for years how great Panera Bread is. We finally got one in Amarillo. I waited weeks before going to give them ample time to work the kinks out. I ordered the first thing I wanted, they didn't have it. I ordered something else. They didn't have it either. After the third try, they were still out. I didn't want what they said they had available to order and I left. Checking Facebook, this is a common issue. And for those who do get to order what they want, the service and wait is horrible. This is not a new opening issue. It is not a not enough people to hire issue. This is a management issue. They need to fire management and bring in managers and people who know what they are doing. We've looked forward to this Panera for a long time.... For nothing. You have to deal with unfriendly cashiers, dirty tables and floors, wait for a very long time for the food as so forth. On top of that, this lovely building with a full glass wall faces right into the sun set. While beautiful to see, it's hard to see with the sun right in your eyes and most tables are in the sun. Unlike other Paneras, there are no semi private nooks - everything all out in the open. Panera this was poor planning at best. Before opening a store you should recognize the sun set... not to mention the wind blows always here and already the doors have broken from the force of the winds. We are disappointed. read more

Service is extremely slow and it's nasty here and the place just opened. Part of the sip club, and they don't have the cups out. I will start with this Panera is really new and is apparently having opening jitters. They are way under staffed so you don't get the warm welcome I'm used to at my usual Panera. I was in town for business and needed a large drink after being on a plane for a few hours. Using the kiosk was my only choice. Got my own cup. Filled up my drink and looked for my order on the counter. I had marked that I was eating there, so expected to see a little plate. I asked about my order and the young lady pointed at the sack like I was stupid. No "thank you." No "have a nice day". No warm anything. What a shock! Ordered the Homestyle Chicken and noodle soap. The picture showed it brimming with noodles, and chicken. They must have scraped the bottom of the pot to fill the order, as upon opening the container and stirring the contents, nothing appeared. We came to have a late lunch at 1:30 today Sunday November 3, 2024. Every table in the dining room was dirty. An employee had a table with her young children to be at, but they were running around the dining room in dirty clothes. We ordered, I couldn't get the Green Goddess salad because they were out of the dressing and Avocados. There were several other things they were out of as well. A couple got their order before us and complained about the dirty tables. Someone from the kitchen yelled at them saying " if you don't like it you can leave my restaurant "!! At this time there were only a handful of people in the restaurant. Our order came up and some other customer picked up my order and took it to their table he brought it back and I told them I was not comfortable taking food someone had already handled. They told me they would remake the order, but I don't know if they did or not. I had 1/2 BLT and cup of French onion soup. Neither one was very good. I have been to Panera's restaurants several times on the East Coast. They seemed like they were nicer. Everything was clean, food was delivered to the tables and I genuinely liked the food and enjoyed going back for more. This restaurant needs new management or ownership. It will never make it in Amarillo with the lack of customer care. I have managed restaurants before and I would never yell at a customer. We were taught the customer is always right. That is how you get repeat customers. If the health department had come in today. They would have locked the doors. When half the menu is unavailable and the dining room is filthy, it is not an enjoyable dining experience. We won't be going back. Very sad. read more

They took 45 mins to turn around a salad to-go, assured me that it was dressed when I asked for dressing, and then to my unfortunate surprise there was neither dressing nor a fork when I dug into my to-go order. I was excited for Panera Bread to finally open. The excitement was short lived. They were frequently out of basic foods for a sandwich shop and it would take over 30 minutes To get your food. The last time I ate I found extra protein added to my sandwich (and we aren't talking about anything mentioned on the menu). All of this is mild compared to how they treat employees.
