Love the clam chowder bread bowl on Fridays. This location is small, but in a nice shopping area. It is very clean and newer. Parking is a B at this location on busy days. When ordering 3 soups (one in a bread bowl and 2 not), and a sandwich, I needed to wait about 10 minutes. They are changing the Low Fat Chicken Noodle soup which scares me because it is fabulous. The mac n cheese is OK, but super over priced. The tomato basil bread is my fav, and is fantastic to use for grilled cheese. read more

Make sure you are shopping at Watters Creek and really hungry and they have short lines before attempting to eat here. Two days I wanted to get takeout and two days I haves failed to order. Tried online- put in order tried paying- it locks up and fails to go through Tried 3 did ways of payment after 30 min of frustration both days I try calling in order. After going through their dial tree and choosing the correct non-catering option it rings about 10 times and then drops my call. Even tried the manager option. I guess they don't want my business and even though I like a certain menu item I will no longer go to the Panera in Allen ever again. read more

Horrible customer service. I tried to place an order online and was told that several items were in stock. Okay, so I decided to call the store. Was on hold for about 5 minutes on a Sunday night at 7:30. Then there was a guy on the phone and before I could mention anything he put me on hold for another 5 minutes. After that a lady by the name of Kristen answered. I asked for a specific soup and she said they don't carry that soup on Sunday. After confirming online that they do, she just said "well that must be a mistake that we should probably fix, but we don't have what you want." After that I hung up and decided to go somewhere else. I can't say much about lunch, food, dinner since I only go during the mornings on weekdays. I normally just get a coffee and bagel and get on the wifi or read for a while. My favorite part is definitely the atmosphere/music and service staff. Very relaxing and never too crowded. Free refills on coffee and a cinnamon crunch bagel are a good deal in my book. The menu continues to be the most confusing I have never seen in a restaurant. Not only did we have difficulty in understanding the menu but every single person in line ahead of us and those who came later seemed to have the same problems I ordered a bowl of clam chowder. You have to decide if you want a cup or a bowl and if you want that with a two some or by itself, as all the prices are different. I chose the two some and then ordered a Caesar salad which I had to decide on that size as well. Actually the salad rung up as a 1/2 salad without a meal upgrade. That came to $8.08 as I ordered water to drink and there was no charge. My spouse ordered the 1/2 Greek salad and the 1/2 Sierra Turkey Sandwich. Seeing me struggle with the ordering she became a fast learner. That too was part of a two course combination. There are many more combinations including "upgraded" for just about every item you order. I noted on the receipt her meal is listed as a no meal upgrade. Her meal was also $8.08 without upgrades. The cashier was handed my Panera Bread card along with a Panera Bread gift card. She advised we had a danish desert coming if we wanted to redeem it now. We opted for one of the cinnamon rolls and ask that it be heated. She pointed to a microwave across from the waiting area and said that we could do that ourselves. Kind of like having to bag your own groceries at the supermarket. I wonder if the next steakhouse will tell me to grill my own steak? We were given an electronic pager, however it never really came into use and the meal was brought to our table. Out table was up a flight of steps where we found additional seating for about twenty people. The carpet had not seen cleaning in quite some time, however we find that not to be unusual at a Panera Bread and seldom will the places be found spotless. My meal came with a long piece of bread that had something black on about an 1/8 inch from the end of the piece and this was pointed out to the delivery boy and he apologized and said he would bring another. In a short time he returned with a small piece less than one-half the size of the original. The clam chowder had almost no clams in it as it was was mostly liquid. There were some small objects in the soup which I think were small tidbits of potatoes. The liquid was OK but certainly not fantastic. I suspect the soup came directly from a can. My salad was a Caesar salad that contained greens that had become aged as they were mostly soggy and wilted. The dressing was far too strong for the salad and covered the entire bottom of the bowl which by the way came about 1/2 full when delivered to my table. The 1/2 ham sandwich was good as was the Greek salad which seemed to contain far more crisp pieces of lettuce than that of the Caesar salad. The walk to the restroom was on carpet that needed to be vacuumed very badly and the restroom which not terrifically dirty should have been tidied up a little. My spouse wanted a cup of coffee to go with the cinnamon roll so I trot back to the counter and this time I know I will not be confused. I order two small cups of coffee and the clerk ask, to go or in a glass. "In a glass". I think he meant in a cup. Of well, I take the to go and find four pots of coffee across the isle. There are time stamps on the canisters. I want decaf and wouldn't you know the time stamp was 10:45AM and I check my watch, it is 12:13PM, thus that coffee has been sitting for almost 1 1/2 hour. My spouse can tell the difference so I know upon return to the table she will question the taste of the coffee. She does not, and I get by with serving her coffee that is at least 1 1/2 hours after brewing. And so many people complain about the high prices of a fresh cup of coffee being served at a Starbucks , well Starbucks decaf coffee is priced lower that decaf coffee at Panera Bread. I don't think this would be classified as a great dining experience but rather another an "adventure" to a Panera Bread. Why do I keep coming? I get these gift cards that have to be used at a Panera Bread---that is why. So friends and family, could my next gift card be at some other restaurant? Thanks read more

I love to eat at Panera but I will longer go to this location. My wife likes the breakfast soufflés but they never have any ready first thing in the morning. This has happened on multiple occasions and we have even waited for them to bake some. I understand they take 20 min in the oven but as a bakery serving breakfast they should have some ready. Today, I ordered online to make sure they would be ready to pick up. When I arrived my name was not on the computer screen despite having an email confirmation. They said they have the order but no soufflés ready. What is the purpose of having online ordering that gives you a time to pick up your stuff and they cannot meet the expectation? I never have a decent meal at this location. Something always goes wrong. Every once in awhile I will go in, hoping they've changed their ways and I'm always disappointed. For the price you pay for a 'pick 2' you get far less than a filling meal. Also, the sandwiches are always thrown together and I'm not a picky eater but I always have to rearrange them so the meat isn't all on one side of the sandwich. Wouldn't recommend. read more

Awful service. I came in at 9:15am, with no customers in front of me. I waited for about 10 minutes, and during that time 2-3 employees saw me and walked right past me at the counter, none of them taking my order or even acknowledging me. During that time another customer came in, we discussed our long wait, and she ended up leaving. I finally gave up as well, but before leaving, stopped someone and asked for the manager. I'm a big Panera fan, and have been to this location before with a good experience. This time it took over 20 minutes to get my food and the place was very dirty. Every single table upstairs had old dishes and food on it. I was going to comment to an employee on my way out but didn't want to wait any longer for someone to come out from the back (could hear them talking). Ok so let me start by saying we like Panera. We lived in San Diego and ate there all the time. Moved to Dallas area last winter and hadn't tried any out here yet since we had so many new food places to try. Ate here today. The staff was not rude just acted as if they'd seen it all and didn't care about anything. I get it I do. But at least pretend to care. I always did when I worked in food service. The food was bland and Luke warm. They never brought it over or buzzed us. The food was sitting for almost 10 minutes when I asked if it was mine. This was dine in by the way. When I came to retrieve it unannounced they acted bothered even though everything was almost cold from sitting too long. Lastly, there were at least 7 employees that I saw but the place was so dirty I was literally amazed. We would have left if we weren't in such a hurry to get the kids dinner. There were old food plates with buzzing flies around at least half the tables. The place where they put all the dirty dishes by the trash was overflowing to the point of ridiculousness. There was almost an entire bag worth of potato chips crushed all over the floor. It sat there near the register for 40 min while several employees looked at it. When I walked in, I felt a nice comfortable organic vibe. I ordered at the touch-screen computers and less than five minutes after I sat down, the food came out. I ordered a You Pick Two with Baked Potato Soup and Chicken Caesar Salad. The food was delectable! The soup was nice and creamy. All the flavors melded together to create a spoonful of heaven. This is my second visit here. The first time I tried it, it was horrible but I waited a few months and gave it another shot. Well after today's visit, my family and I will not be back. As I'm waiting for the lemonade to be refilled, the lady moving the bagels around hits the corner of the rack and a few dropped on the dirty floor. She put down the pan and picked up th bagels from the floor and placed them back on the pan. She then put the pan on a different rack with the rest of pastries. We sat down at the only semi-clean booth available. Which was dirty, sticky and had crumbs all over the table and seats. As we looked around, the carpet, the walls and the back of the bench was absolutely disgusting. There were ants on the table. We got our food and my sister in laws sandwich had a hair on top of the cheese. Then my mother in law got a salad and they completely forgot to add dressing. Panera got rid of the Italian Combo sandwich which was an awesome sandwich. The replacement, Italian, is too silly named and is just terrible. Also the tomato bread changed for also the terrible. I would recommend this restaurant to people that are looking for a nice casual meal. It is a pretty pricey place but, it tastes good. I would not recommend the Chicken Tortellini (which is what I got.) if you are really hungry. They don't give you much if you get pasta. If you want a good tasting meal with room for dessert, then Chicken Tortellini might be the meal for you. The atmosphere and service was pretty good and the waiters and waitresses were nice too. I would definitely come back, but next time I will get something else. read more

The Panera in Allen is my favorite place to eat in this area. The food is always fresh, delicious, and well presented. A pastry ring was not available as ordered, and the manager went out of his way to have another made immediately and it was free of charge for the inconvenience. I was extremely let down. I am from Houston and used to eat Panera all the time and loved it. I will no longer be eating at Panera. The restaurant was dirty and cluttered behind the counters. I ordered the pick 2 turkey sandwich and mixed green salad. The turkey meat was your typical cheap grocery store lunch meat. Part of my meat also looked like there was avocado on it which was not any part of my oder. The bread felt hard and stale. There was so much mayonnaise on it I had to scrap it off just to take a bite. The salad was absolutely pitiful.First the bowl look dirty maybe they just mixed the salad it in but then again why was it also dirty on the outside of the bowl. It was supposed to be a mixed green salad with cucumber, tomato and onion. The greens were soggy and warm. The tomatoes looked rotten and had to be removed completely from the bowl. I may have had 2 max 3 small tiny square cucumbers. To top it off there was so much dressing that was all you could taste. I may have taken 2-3 bites of the meal before leaving. I have yet to experience a place that I can enjoy as much as I have at Watters Creek's very own Panera Bread. In an area that's filled to the rafters with people buzzing around, Panera is such an ample place to wind down and enjoy yourself. The warm and neutral colors everywhere made me relax, more than I thought possible, and the environment was so benevolent it was almost as if Panera was my home. I knew that choosing to come here was a considerably great choice, and based on how things went, I'll be visiting as much as I conveniently can. My opinion of Panera is that it is one of the choicest casual restaurants to go to, and I would gladly and highly recommend it to anyone. They have absolutely piquant food- one of them being the Turkey and Avocado BLT, a friendly and moderately fast service, an undisturbed environment, and one of the most overall congenial atmospheres I've seen in a restaurant. read more
