Pick 2: Toasted baguette - Green Goddess Caprese Melt with Broccoli Cheddar Soup
    Shyesa G.

Pick 2...Green Goddess Caprese Melt with bowl of Broccoli Cheddar Soup. I chose to get my baguette cut in half bc this meal is huge and filling!! Great fresh flavor, perfectly toasted, and hot out the oven. Def needs to be kept on the menu!!

This is such a great place to eat because there a little bit of everything here. First off make sure you get a rewards card and download the app so you can get freebies. I love their french onion soup. They put croutons and gruyere cheese on it and comes with a French baguette. The broccoli cheddar is another one of my favorites as well. It is so cheesey and good. The frontega chicken sandwich comes with fresh mozzarella, onions tomatoes and I get the regular mayo instead of the chipotle mayo. The cheese and chocolate danishes are excellent as well. You get a cookie for .99 if you get a meal with a drink.

Panera Bread is a great place in alabaster to grab soup, salad, and amazing sandwiches! This location has been consistently amazing for years. The restaurant is conveniently located in a corner of the Promenade in alabaster. Parking can be a pain during their lunch rush, so be prepared to hike if you don't get there early! They always have plenty of staff on hand to take orders and clean the dining area. There is ample seating, and you frequently see people working on their computers while they munch. I've tried a lot of things on their menu and I've narrowed down a few of my faves! The Green Goddess salad is incredible! The salad greens are topped with avocados, red onion, hard boiled egg, and chicken. So. Freaking. Tasty. I also love the Frontega chicken sandwich, warm and cheesy. They offer a wide variety of bagels, breads, cookies, and more...and they are all fresh and delicious. Definitely check this place out when you want a fast and tasty meal!

The food is always good. The service is always good. The staff is always friendly. And, I realize that most establishments are short handed, but hygiene is a must. We do not want this restaurant shut down because someone called the health department. Please, keep it clean. This is what customers CaN see.

The Frontera Chicken Panini is fantastic. It was lunch on a Saturday, so it was a bit crowded, but service was pretty quick and the panini was very good.

GREAT FOOD AND GREAT SERVICE!! A+ I love their strawberry poppyseed salad. It's wonderful!

Cockroach on a plate and dirty kitchen area.

This was the filthiest Panera I have ever been to. These pictures do not even show how gross it really was. Tables were dirty, I had to go to the bathroom wet paper towels to clean the table and the seat. The bathroom was gross, and when I walked back towards the kitchen I spotted the dead cockroach on paper plate. Do not go here. I got sick right after I left.

Pick 2, broccoli cheese soup, baguette, and half bacon tomato grilled cheese.

I have a love/hate relationship with Panera. The broccoli cheddar soup is absolutely delicious, however the sandwiches fall flat on both flavor and value.

Food tastes as good as any other Panera, but don't expect your order to be correct or for your mac and cheese to be warm.

We were greeted promptly and took a few minutes to look at the menu. I LOVE roast beef, so it peaked my interest. My wife chose the Smiley burger. We placed our order and grabbed a seat. Place was quiet even though it was probably 75% full for lunch. Roast beef was served hot in toasted sour dough. Cheddar, tomato, lettuce and horseradish topped the generous portion of roast beef. Bread was crisp and the beef was hot and juicy. Horseradish gave a nice tangy flavor. My wife's Smiley burger was hand patted. Juicy and perfectly cooked. Bun was soft inside and nicely toasted in the outside. Bread and butter pickles, onion, tomato and lettuce topped it off. But the star of the show were the fries cooked in beef tallow!! Hot and salty, crispy and a deep flavor. I would come back just for the fries. Although a little bit pricey for lunch, it was excellent! Staff were friendly and attentive! Would highly recommend and will definitely be back! Thanks for an awesome lunch and excellent experience!

Only concern was I asked for Champy's sauce with the tender basket, looked at it in the parking lot and noticed it looked like their honey mustard instead. Tried it, confirmed it tasted like honey mustard, then went inside with my receipt asking for it to be switched for Champy's sauce. Spoke to a waitress (not the one who helped us at drive thru) and I explained that I wanted Champy's sauce. She said "uh huh" confused and I held up what I had saying it tasted like honey mustard. She said yes Champy's sauce is honey mustard based. I told her I've been to (and worked as a teenager) at Champy's before in Tennessee and the color was more yellow than the orange I'm used to (like they added too much honey mustard) and again it tasted exactly like honey mustard. She explained that the Champy's sauce (and red heat) recipe was different at their location. I took her answer and left. Not sure if I indeed had honey mustard (they come in the same containers) and she didn't want to double check or if their Champy's sauce recipe really is just primarily honey mustard. I think the people of Alabama are missing out though on the champys sauce from the original location in Chattanooga, not sure why there is so much variation between locations. Other than that, everything was great!
