We ordered the fried dumplings as an appetizer and they were a good choice. Our entrees were the Octopus Hot Stone Bibimbap and the Spicy Pork Dwejibulgogi....were interesting and different. We tried some regular Kimchi, Cucumber Kimchi and seaweed soup also. The setting is in a previous Chinese food restaurant. It is okay inside, nothing exceptional. The price is reasonable. I'm confident in that there won't be many that can be more critical of Korean food than I. Never in my twelve years (Now 2018) did I ever imagine we'd have a Korean restaurant in East Texas and, if we did, it would ever be competitive. I've eaten my words because we have one. I don't know what the Chinese food is like, but the Korean food at Panda Korea is spot on. I had the dolsot bibimbap and it was delicious. My go-to place in Longview for Americanized Chinese. The owner (Jimmy) works about 200 hours a week in the place. He's been around since the days when two Chinese restaurants had Longview in their grip (Hunan and Canton). Hunan is mostly a buffet destination these days, but they still offer a big menu. I order from it regularly and have never been disappointed. Ignore the sign and the fact that this place operates from an old Bonanza building. Also, don't be creeped out by the funeral home next door, which was originally a Taco Bell. The Hunan staff will pamper you like you're on a cruise. Our most friendly waitress and likely owner was happy to cook our meat at the table for us, teach us a few korean words here and there, and serve us with a smile. Highly recommend getting the table bbq, the sides that come with are a perfect compliment to the good quality meat! The kimchi and cucumber salad were our favorites by far! Absolutely blown away by my wife and I's amazing lunch experience. Food is as good if not better than what I used to get bacK home in LA (in Koreatown no doubt). Got the Tofu and Kimchi soup and my wife got the squid bibimbap. Yes, it was so good that I doubted reality, at least until the meat sweats started to dot my forehead. I ordered the daejwi bulgogi, assuming the potential risk of the cut (juicy yet firm) and spiciness (perfect amount of chili paste).
