Panda Korea is awesome! We visited while out of town picking up family at the airport and decided to try this place out! We walked in and it was very quiet and only one other patron. The place is definitely older but everything was clean and comfortable. We were sat right away and asked for our drink orders. Drinks came back to us within a minute or two and then our waiter (probably the owner as well) took our app orders. We ordered the Kimbap and and a Kimchi pancake. A few minutes passed and the sweet older lady brought out our Kimbap and WOW was it amazing! Warm, fresh, and oh so delicious. The best I have ever had! Then we got the kimchi pancake and again wow! Hot, crispy and so, so tasty! And lastly we ordered the Bulgogi Jeon Gol Hot Pot! It arrived to the table bubbling and steaming and smelling so yummy! We started to dig in and there was sooo much meat and veggies and the glass noodles were just perfect! We ate until we could not eat anymore. We walked in and the inside was a little underwhelming. But any true foodie knows that usually the more "hole in the wall" a place looks, usually the more promising the food can be. We were greeted pleasantly by the waiter, and the service was consistent the whole time. I ordered the teriyaki chicken bibimbap, and it did not disappoint. They gave us some watermelon at the end. No one would have expected it but were pleasantly surprised Abuela is back there making it happen! I ordered the Bulgogi and the Gimbap (to go). The beef was perfect. Well marinated and a great portion to share (for two). The banchan (side dishes) were on point and I even got some Ssam (lettuce) and Ssam Jang (the traditionally accompanying soybean paste for the lettuce wrap). There's no reason why Panda Korea should not be packed at lunch time. Dad and I tried this restaurant after having read up on it from the reviews, and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was very typical Asian restaurant, which was very cozy. We both ordered the Hot Stone Bibimbap (Dad got Spicy Pork, I got Spicy Beef), plus an order of Shrimp Tempura and an order of egg rolls. Plus, our entrees came with all the typical fixings of a Korean BBQ restaurant (kimchi, soup, cucumbers, bean sprouts, etc.}. The rice on the bottom of the bibimbap had crispened up, which is exactly what you want from a good bibimbap. All the vegetables were fresh. They had this sauce that came with our order that had a sweet heat to it. I think it might've had gochujang in it. I flippantly added some to my entree, mixed it up, and basked in the immediate burst of flavor that it brought to an already delicious dish. If I had one criticism of the entire meal, it would be to cook the shrimp a tad longer, so it crispens up even more, but that's mainly a personal preference issue. Since moving here, I have not had an excuse to give a 5-star rating to a Longview based restaurant off the first impression. This just might be it. read more

Let me start by saying I was stationed in South Korea over 15 years ago and absolutely loved the food and culture. Ever since, I've tried Korean restaurants as often as possible. THIS is the best Korean BBQ I've had stateside. Their yaki mahndoo (Korean fried dumplings) were incredible and the dipping sauce for it was the best I've had including korea. ($3 per order) The Bulgogi (thin sliced marinated beef) was cooked tableside with onions, garlic paste, large lettuce leafs to wrap it in and rice. It also came with bap chan (various lil pickled or seasoned snacks to try between bites that come with your meal) of cabbage kimchi, cucumber kimchi, potato, and apple pieces in yogurt. All of it was fantastic, there was plenty of everything, and it cost $19 per person, which is really reasonable. We'll be back very soon. read more

Was not impressed with the Korean soup at all. Unfortunately, it was quite bland, with little meat and a bunch of cabbage. Not appetizing at all. The kimchi wasn't tasty like I know good kimchi can be. I usually devour every bit of my kimchi but not today. I barely ate half of the small side item dish. But there's hope! The seafood pancake was not only big & thick, I thought is was very delicious!!! Especially the sauce that comes with it. It will certainly be my go to item from now on. The Asian woman who served me seemed nice enough. Koreans don't pet their patrons or constantly come to check on you while you're eating so I had to call her once or twice. She did not appear to speak much English but was very attentive to our needs. It could use an update on the interior design to give it an alluring and visually appealing quality, but it lured me in with the pictures of food and good reviews on Yelp, so they know what they're doing. Our server was very welcoming and sweet, she immediately invited us in. I was so excited when I saw the menu!!! Omg!!! I needed this in my life! The food was excellent! Probably the best Korean food I've had!! I want to eat here for every meal of my life!! You can tell this is a traditional restaurant by the home cooked taste of the dishes. All those choices were solid! I don't think this place could survive in Dallas, but for East Texas? Heck yeah! It definitely satiated my cravings. The soondubu jjigae was a little on the saltier side, so make sure you eat it with rice. The bibimbap flavor wasn't 100% there, but it was good enough for me to be satisfied. Although the octopus was very chewy, the spicy octopus and vegetables dish had a delicious flavor, and the teriyaki chicken bibimbap was a crowd pleaser. From the outside this restaurant comes across as dated but assure you that you cannot judge this place just by looking at it. The food is where it's at, you can taste the fresh ingredients and the passion for making great Korean Food.
