I highly recommend Lil Thai House because they have wonderful, outstanding food. Mr. Will and his wife always make you feel welcome. No matter when you visit, they acknowledge you with a smile and take the time to speak to you, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. My favorite dishes are the Pineapple Fried Rice with chicken and shrimp and the Drunken Fried Rice with all three meats. Both are absolutely delicious and full of flavor. If you're looking for great Thai food and friendly, welcoming service, Lil Thai House is definitely worth a visit! read more

Due to their unique hours, Lil Thai House is hard to visit because they are only open at lunch time on weekdays. I went once in 2021 and have been itching to go back for almost 4 years. After finally making the time, I gave them a second try. Longview is a small town and places like Lil Thai House are what make it so much better. The owners are a sweet couple that make some delicious Thai food. It's all cooked fresh to order, which makes it not the place to go if you're in a pinch for time. I also recommend getting here closer to 11 if you want to get seats in the restaurant. I think there are about 10 tables available that fill up quick. My partner and I ordered Chicken Pad Thai, Green Chicken Curry and Pork Egg Rolls. Starting with the egg rolls - they were very fresh and hot. The glass noodles inside were delicious and overall they were super meaty. The pad Thai and curry were tasty. Both had great levels of spice that weren't overbearing and added to the flavor profile. Pricing was not bad for what you get. Definitely the better Thai restaurant in Longview if you can make the hours work. read more

My first time today excellent customer service, staff very friendly and welcoming the food is definitely authentic and so delicious what an amazing Gem thank you. read more

Thai food, fresh and cooked to order. The dining room is small, so you may need to order 'to go' or wait for a table, but it's worth it. It's a true family-run place with excellent food. My Tom Kha soup was loaded with veggies and chicken and our order of drunken noodles was enough for two. read more

My husband and I tried Lil Thai House for lunch and it was excellent. It's a small restaurant, but the quality of their food is well worth the wait (or, you can get takeout). The atmosphere is very welcoming...there were several other diners there and all seemed to know the staff by name, and vice versa. We will definitely be returning. read more

First time trying Thai House! We were in Gilmer and I had a craving for Thai food, so I went to yelp for Thai food! I called in my order and it was ready by the time I picked up my take out. We had shrimp pad thai, shrimp tom yum, green curry with chicken, and beef pad thai. I was very impressed that their spices were en pointe! They also had a lot of meat and vegetables in it, which I personally think gives me value for my money. The bill total was $88 plus tip. Highly recommend!!! read more

Let me start out by saying I've had amazing Thai food all over the world from California to New York and even in Thailand itself. My best friend's mother is Thai so I know a great bit about Thai food and what it should taste like. Little Thai House is absolutely top notch Thai food outside of Thailand. Is it the best I've had in America no. Is it the best Thai food I've had in Texas? Absolutely yes!!!! The cutest sweetest couple who own this restaurant are so accommodating. I'm still welcoming. I have a food allergy and even though I don't eat at this restaurant often, she always remembers my allergy when I come into order food. That's great customer service right there read more

As everyone has told you, the food is made when you order. So don't get all pissy if you're in a hurry because you have been told! That being said, this is the best litttle Thai house ever. What sets them apart for me is the freshness of the ingredients. The owner and his wife with one helper do it all. Best little dive in Longview :) read more

The food was so good it practically melts in your mouth. Service was great. It was a cute little dinning area with so much to look at it. I love it! read more

Some of the best Thai food I've had anywhere. Mom and Pop place. Interesting small 6-ish table seating with Art Al covering the walls - as well as a music theme in addition. Cool place - if you Thai food and you're in Longview, you can't go wrong. read more

Not many meat options, but the flavors are amazing! Limited seating, seemingly always crowded. So get there early.

From the outside you can pass it up and not even know it. Small little place but it has alot of character. Food was pretty good. But pretty $pendy. $10 for two ordinary egg rolls. I don't recommend . I got the Drunken noodles with chicken, ate half and had leftovers for next day. Half portions would be nice. For one person my lunch was $30 !! Service was good. They are friendly. read more

Don't know what took me so long to discover Lil Thai House. This little spot in the old downtown area serves up authentic Thai food in a casual atmosphere. I ordered up the spicy drunken noodles with chicken and a Thai tea. All the food is made to order with the kitchen in full view. The order arrived quickly and was HUGE. Plenty of food for the average eater. Saw alot of to go boxes for leftovers. Great food, great price in a comfortable setting. WIN WIN!! read more

Cozy little lunch place in downtown Longview. Made to order Thai dishes. Tastes so good.

Best Thai food in the country. The owners are amazing people that care about their customers and the community. Everything is great from the food to the conversation to the people running the place. I've been going here for years and it's amazing. After all my traveling this is still my absolute favorite Thai place. read more

We tried this place from a recommendation of a friend, and it did not disappoint! The cashew chicken is the best I have ever had! Its decor is very much a personal touch from the owners which makes it unique and special. Eclectic. The food is a little pricey but very much worth it. It's a husband and wife ownership. She cooks and he handles customers. Great guy! You can tell he likes people and loves what he does. read more

Always very welcoming and nice staff. Food takes a little longer because she cooks everything as soon as ordered, very very fresh. Some of the best Thai food in east texas read more

Best food. Great people ! If only the prices were not so high I would go there more often

This is not the worst place I have been to, but not that good. I hate going to places where I can cook better food. This is that type of place. My husband is Asian, and he wouldn't eat it at all. I think American like heat and serve food. Sad read more

ALWAYS DELICIOUS!! If you are in the area for lunch, I highly recommend LTH!!! The food is amazing!!!

I'm always a huge fan of Thai food. This place has never let me down. The business is nestled into a small spot in the downtown area, but it gives it an amazing feeling. For anyone that's been to any small restaurant in Thailand, this gives it a little more of an authentic feeling. I've gone here several times and always try something different, and have never been let down. The staff is friendly and helpful. For sure my preferred Thai restaurant in the area. I would definitely recommend. read more

Flat out the best Thai cooking outside of Thailand. Period. It doesn't get better. But you have to set expectations. It's not fast food. It's a tiny place. And the odds of them being open are about the same as them being closed. BUT there aren't many places I'd drive three hours to eat. This tops that list. The Panang Curry is a drug and I'll admit that I have a problem. read more

Unique and worth our drive from Marshall. We have come here a few times over the past 5 years. Like the sign says, "This is not fast food".......but it is awesome food. Pork Egg Rolls are excellent. Shrimp and Chicken Pad Thai is excellent. Chef's Choice Fried Rice with Shrimp is excellent. This is some good home cooked food. Only negatives are the hours and the seating but the food is worth working around that. read more

I just recently moved to the area and saw this place as a top rated restaurant. I was not disappointed at all! It's a charming and smaller restaurant with counter order Thai food that is delivered to your table. The owners were the ones who prepared and served my mom and I, and they were very kind, helpful, and caring about the quality of food and delivery of service. We shared a delicious Tom Kah Gai soup, Panang Curry, and Pad Thai. We were shocked with how large the portions were, and with how much rice they gave us for the curry (an appropriate amount in contrast to some of the stingy places I've gone that give you a tiny amount and up charge you for more.) It was definitely more that the two of us could handle in one sitting, but we were so happy to take back the rest to eat later. Everything was packed with flavor, and I believe my mom said "this is the best curry I have tasted EVER." We will definitely be back for more! read more

The best food and the nicest people. The people that run this place are the kindest, sweetest people. Quality ingredients, and they can cook some damn good food. Look, the food is incredible. Truly. Everything I've had is outstanding! I just hardly ever get to eat it because they are open such limited hours. I'm not complaining, I'm happy that they have their priorities and choose their family and life over being slaves to the business. I just wish they were open more. Cute place, too - small & cozy, get it to go if you don't like close quarters. read more

The owners are so welcoming! Food is excellent! You can't go wrong eating there everything taste so fresh and delicious!

My new favorite restaurant! There is only one thing I would change about the place and that would be to move it to Shreveport so I could eat there every day they are open. Sure, it would be better for me if they were open more days and hours but I feel the owner runs this place as a labor of love and not to get rich but instead values serving the best quality food possible and also values quality time with his family and I respect that. The owner is very friendly and upbeat and walks around meeting and socializing with all his customers and continually checking on their needs. You know how some laid back places will have a little pet cushion with their dog or cat? Here the owner has a comfy chair near the order counter with his adorable daughter. Love it. This is NOT your typical restaurant. You go here when what you care most about is eating delicious authentic Thai cuisine freshly prepared after you place your order using fresh quality ingredients. You will feel like you were invited over to your best friend's house so they can cook for you family style. They bring out each item as it becomes ready. Everything is delicious. You can't go wrong. Order several different dishes to enjoy there because you will eat far more than you thought possible and you will be wanting leftovers to take home. Trust me on this. read more

Very serious Thai food. Don't let the fact that this restaurant is in a small East Texas town lull you into thinking this is small town quality ethnic food. This restaurant will compete with the best Thai places in Dallas, bar none. This may be the best Thai restaurant in Texas! Thai owners preside in the small open kitchen and prepare each dish only after it is ordered. If you want a chance to a disk, just ask. The only down side is that some nights the wait is substantial because so many people want to eat here. But two nights ago, we were one of three couples, so it is not invariably crowded. I don't know how to recommend a restaurant more highly. This is a special place with great food. read more

Lil Thai House - Thai Near Me - Longview, Texas

Lil Thai House is a true gem tucked away in historic downtown Longview. I'm giving it 4 stars because Yelp doesn't allow for 1/2 stars - otherwise this would be a 4.5 star place. I can't in good faith give it 5-stars because of some of the quirkiness of the place, which I'll talk about in a moment. This truly is a hole-in-the-wall place. There are very few tables inside, and that's perfectly fine with the owners who are happy to tell you that they work enough to get by and serve as many as they can serve and no more. It is what it is. The food is excellent. Very fresh - you can see straight into the kitchen from the order/dining area and will be astounded by the piles of fresh veg and herbs sitting on the counter. Everything is cooked to order and you very much feel like you're eating at a friend's house rather than a restaurant. To that end, don't be surprised if your table of 4 receives each person's dish about 5 minutes apart rather than at the same time. Since we all ordered to share, that worked fine for us. We just added the next dish to the dining rotation as it came out. What we ordered: For starters we ordered chicken egg rolls and spicy beef egg rolls. Different sauces were served with each, perfectly complimenting the fillings For mains: Drunken noodles with chicken (delish and spicy), pad Thai with pork, gai pad khing (ginger chicken with noodles) and green curry stir fry with chicken. All were amazing and had very different flavor profiles. Vegan options are available, though we didn't go that route for dinner. Also, this was honestly too much food for our group of 4, but it was no problem to we pack the leftovers up for the trip back to our weekend getaway lodging. What's quirky (and keeps this from being a true 5-star): * The uneven service delivery of food. See above. * The hours are very tough - you need a local to help you keep up with when they are and aren't open. After hearing about Lil Thai for over a year, we finally decided to leave Dallas early on a Friday so we could try it. At the time of this review, Lil Thai is only open for lunch Tues-Fri from 11-2 and dinner on Thur-Fri from 5-8. * Even if they are open, if it gets too crowded and/or backed up in orders, they will temporarily close until they get caught up. Again - these are quirky things but the food is really worth trying to find a way to eat at Lil' Thai. read more

Lil Thai House is the epitome of a great mom & pop joint. You can tell that a lot of love goes into the food. Like some of my other favorite little haunts, however, time and space go out the window. I was fortunate enough to work within walking distance of this little hole in the wall. So, the hour wait talked about by other reviewers, didn't affect me as much. We'd call our order in at 11 a.m. and start walking up the alley about 45-55 minutes later. So be it. It is worth it. I typically order the drunken noodle with pork or beef, but have also had it with tofu a few times. The dish is savory, spicy and colorful -- with no shortage of bright green basil leaves. Do you like spring rolls? Get there early, because they disappear fast. Look for them in the tiny refrigerator at the counter. You can't go wrong with any flavor, but I'm partial to the shrimp, which are plump and cooked perfectly, alongside crispy cucumber, matchstick carrots and other vegetables and herbs. The sweet dipping sauce is a perfect compliment to this cold rice paper-wrapped delicacy. Though I've eaten the fare at Lil Thai House a number of times, the one thing I've never tried is the green curry. I've intended to get it several times, but some other dish always managed to trump it when I perused the menu. I've heard it's fantastic. One of these days, maybe. . . read more

Best Thai food. Hands down one of the best restaurants in Longview. Call ahead or be willing to wait. It's worth it.

This is the most amazing Thai food I've ever experienced. The venue is small and hours are limited, but it is oh so worth the visit. The sign over the register says it isn't fast food, but it's worth waiting for. The spicy beef will light you up. The pad Thai and Thai basil chicken are amazing. It's an 11/10. read more
