Went for lunch during the week and wasn't too bad. They were serving the lunch menu. Today, Saturday, was serving the dinner menu at noon, so cost more of course. No matter the chicken I got, it was dry and some of it I would call hard. The Lo Mein was almost a paste. Good point was no veggies in the noodles. Wife got sushi. Tried 4 types, all were gross and tasted 'off'. She only had a bite of each. Hated the Lo Mein and said the only good things were the soda and ginger. Soda was good. Thirty bucks before tip. Service was great so we tipped. Will not be returning until it has a 'under new management' sign so we know something changed. Very disappointed in our meal. read more

First off let me address all the negative reviews posted here. These negative reviews were made by people with champagne taste but on a beer budget. This is Longview Texas so you're not going to find amazing Chinese food here. what you are going to find is American style Chinese buffet food that taste amazing. One thing I have noticed in my short time living in Texas is that no matter how hard you work some people just will never be satisfied because all they do is live to complain. Went on a Sunday afternoon just after church and it was completely packed. The staff did amazing keeping the buffet items fresh and rotated. The tables were kept clean and so was the floor areas. Never once did our drinks go empty u like at other well-known chain restaurants. They attended to their customers properly with very big smiles on their faces. Now onto the food, the spicy pork was amazing as was the jalapeño chicken. Picky daughter loved her beef and broccoli and unlike most places this restaurant had a even ratio of broccoli to meat. The husband enjoyed his Seafood (shrimp, fried shrimp, mudbugs, crab) a lot and said it tasted fresh. The fried rice and fried noodles for perfect as was the plain white rice. As I stated above the staff continuously added new fresh food to the buffet the entire time that we were there. Reading some other reviews, I decided to make my own decision. One thing, Longview may not be a big city but it doesn't matter the size of town. It matters the dedication of the restaurant owner/manager to have a great place to eat. Therefore saying this is Longview what do you expect is a cop out. Nearby tiny town of Avinger 444 population likely has more people at their steakhouse over the weekend than the population of the whole town. Size of town doesn't matter. This place is very clean. It's nice and bright not dim and dingy. Someone is always tending to the food. Waitstaff kept an eye on me... not hovering. They had a great selection. I came during dinner and there was quite a bit of seafood & some Cajun style food as well. I tried a few things and even went back for a specific dish a second time which is rare for me to do unless I really really like it. This is about the most obnoxious Restaurant I have ever called. I called the first time and the person put me on hold for about 20 minutes. I was doing some accounting posting so I thought I would just wait. After about 20 minutes I called back and the same person answered and here is what he said, " Hello, What do you want?" I asked to whom I was speaking, again, he said what do you want? Then just hung up. I called back and they answered and I ask to whom I was speaking, "Who do you want?" A manager... Took the family here because we felt like Chinese. The buffet was huge, lots of choices. The workers were all busy, polite and the guy who was watching over our table did a great job of keeping the drinks coming and clearing away the used plates. We had 7 people and ate here for around $100. It was a great value for what we got. Everyone came away stuffed. I agree that the egg rolls weren't the best but if you can't find plenty of good food to fill you up, you're just in the wrong kind of restaurant for you, the rest of us will happily eat here! The absolute worst Chinese buffet my husband and I have ever eaten. First, the service: as we enter, the woman doesn't greet us. She just says "2 buffet 2 drinks ". She then speaks in Vietnamese to her coworker only acknowledging us to shove my card back to me. The next woman snatches the receipt and practically sprints to our table. The food wasn't even mediocre. No flavor, poor variety for a buffet. I wasn't even aware an egg roll could be done so badly. The restaurant has an open buffet, however, absolutely no soy sauce anywhere. When my husband asked for some, we were given 3 packets of that horrid brown water loosely referred to as soy sauce. We weren't offered drink refills until we were about to leave. Rude employees, and disgusting food offerings. To top it all off, within an hour I had GI issues from the experience. read more

Come here almost every week or 2 for years, since the days the store first opened when I used to come with my family. Food itself isn't unique to what you'd expect at from most all Chinese buffets, but for 8bucks for a buffet of its size - well worth it. Most everything is generally good and fresh enough. Cant remember how long ago the last time I came and it wasn't skimping on its consistent quality. That all said, as mentioned before don't expect actual authentic chinese food or something very delicious. Its just a solid consistent what you'd expect american chinese buffet with some more unique items. Also if your ordering take out dont expect them to do that much besides scooping you whats there on the buffet already, since they arent going to make you custom order batch. In other words you want fried rice with no egg? Well your not gonna get some even if they comfirm they wont put in eggs. A great standout is that a large majority of the waiters and waitresses are outstanding, and treat you very well everytime and are on top of keeping you topped up with what youd want. Usually they are all in a good mood overall I find, and aren't usually found loitering around on their phones (atleast in clear view). Manager/owner seems to also always be there as well and is often seems codial. Also like that their lunch buffet starts and ends 30 minutes sooner/later than the norm. That being opening at 10:30, and lunch ending at 3:30. About the only thing I can say that consistently does bother me is that there is often not any wontons left in the wonton soup which always saddens me haha. read more

china king has been my happy place for as long as i can remember. when i was just a young lad, me and my grandmother would go to this beautiful establishment every weekend. i loved the buffet so much, especially the desert. i would always leave this place with a full tummy and a smile on my face. don't get me wrong, my grandma is completely insane, but that place brought her pure joy and for that reason, i loved it even more. to this day, it is my sweet granny's favorite restaurant and i absolutely adore attending with her. you are always greeted with the biggest smiles and what i would assume to be kind words, though i can't understand them. i had almost forgotten about this lovely dinery until my best friend, quynzi's, 1 year anniversary for her amazing boyfriend brayden came up. this is completely off topic, but i mean it when i say that i have never seen a better pair than the two them. probably the healthiest little relationship i've ever seen. anyway, brayden had promised quynz to take her where ever she wanted for dinner, but after hearing a few of her options, he changed his mind saying, "we're going to china king or i'm not going at all" and that is probably the most romantic thing i've ever heard, so big shoutout to china king for making my best friends anniversary so special and being my home away from home as a child. with respect, karson read more
