Not bad for a Sun Valley restaurant lol. The first time I ate here we came really late and it wasn't bad but I came again another day right after they opened for the day and the food was way better! The staff is eh, meaning they seem to just be there! They sell little trinkets on the counter which to me cheapens the place but I'm there for the food not the junk! I ordered both times to go and got a large heaping Styrofoam container of food! I really enjoy the proximity to my mom's house and am glad they opened a Chinese food restaurant in Sun Valley! My fiance however calls this restaurant his favorite! And for that I give them four stars! Really well done. New ownership in last year has really made this the best Chinese food in the area. the kung pao chicken is like nothing else I've had, so tasty so wonderful. I can't rave enough about how fantastic this place has been every time we've gone. We always get takeout and it's always fresh and tasty with good portions and good prices. read more

Probably one of the worst places I've been to wish there was a choice for no stars. First of all, when I got there the two Asians were yelling at each other in their language then finally acknowledged me with "what do you want!" I looked at the guy with disgust but I was too hungry to turn around. I then ordered my food and they go on yelling in their language again looking back at me a few times. I saw the guy in the back making my food and noticed he wasn't wearing gloves making my food, which is a health violation, but I like I said I was too hungry to care. After I ate the food I felt my stomach getting upset. The next day I woke up sick as a dog with food poisoning. This place should get checked and I recommend not coming here!!! read more

From walking in the door the employees seemed friendly (from just the few minutes I was there ordering).It cost about $7 (including tax) for their combo plate which I want to say is average or even on the higher side (depending on where else you go). The food was ok, noodles seemed average and the veggies were not cooked through (I think that's typical for most Chinese food(?)). The part that got me was that I saw them put it in the microwave (and they did it for too long because it was really hot). Arguably the worst "Chinese" food I've ever had. I ordered the Kung Pao Beef and Chicken with Garlic Sauce. It seemed like someone tried to mix Mexican and Chinese cuisine together and failed horribly. Never in my life have I had to separate the components of the dish and recook everything. All the vegetables were raw and inedible. I had to recut all the veggies as well, as nothing was even close to being cut evenly to allow equal doneness. For whatever reasons the Panda House in Sun Valley has taken an about face! All of the problems I had with the place have vanished! The front seating area is bright, smells good, and down right inviting! Their lunch combo, even though it is only two items is very generous! I compared it today with the Egg Roll King located on Oddie Blvd in the KMart plaza and it won hands down! Even though the egg roll King had three items (the Panda house does also if you count the egg roll) the quantities were stingy and reheated beyond acceptable limits whereas the Panda house selections were still bright and crisp! This is an average to above average strip mall Chinese restaurant. Nothing special here. Pretty much standard New York-style Chinese food. The plus is that it's cooked fresh. I ordered wor wonton soup and a noodle dish and said I wanted to eat it there but they still brought it out to me in to-go containers. They have four tables in the place and they had stuff scattered on two of them. It's really a take out kind of place. The wor wonton soup was okay. Two pieces of chicken were inedable, having ligaments or other unchewable stuff in it. And there were too many white onions in the soup. The barbecue pork in the noodle dish was kind of tough. But the noodles seemed really high quality. That's probably why I'm giving it three stars instead of two. You know how people from San Francisco always seem to condescend to Reno by saying a restaurant is good for Reno? Well t'm going to do that for Sun Valley. Panda House is a good Chinese restaurant for Sun Valley. But it's nothing to make me drive past SK Noodle or any of the better Chinese restaurants in the area. read more

They have combo plates with white rice, fried rice, or chow mein with on entree and an egroll for 5.95 I like it because they are open until 9 and ten on weekends making it super yummy when you get off work. I really like cheap, fast chinese food and this place was up to my liking! I ordered the chicken and mushroom combination plate with chow mein noodles for $4.95, there was so much food!!! My husband got the seafood tofu soup for $5.95, it was huge and piping hot! We also got free dessert for spending over $10, which was some coffee tasting cake. I will definately come back for take-out. The restaurant was not really a place to sit down and eat with only having a few tables and using plastic ware and styrofoam. I order wonton soup, general tso's chicken & chop suey from Panda House my first time ordering there. I advise the person who was taking the order that I have shell fish allergy. (that's a statement that comes out automatically when I order at restaurants. I walk with Epipen in my bag at all times)I didn't know that wonton soup in Reno have shrimp in it. I call them to complain about the shrimp in the soup and of course they denied that I mentioned that I have shell-fish allergy. Of course it is his word against mine, and their way of handling it they hang up the phone on me. I never heard of shrimp in a wonton soup before, the food was disgusting anyway because I called yesterday to ask when the general tso's food was cooked because it tasted stale. Never having tried their food prior, we chose the smaller offered portions. Here is what we got, 2 greasy egg rolls and bland soup. The house special fried rice was actually pretty good, Are snow peas really supposed to be overcooked and greasy? If you throw 2 shrimp in a box with gelatin and a bunch of imitation crab meat, would you consider that shrimp in Lobster sauce? Do you really enjoy greasy overly breaded chicken then the General Tao Chicken is for you and don't worry about heart burn the sauce is not spicy as it should be. For desert follow your meal with their stale, really stale fortune cookies. With their delivery charge, you could easily drive to a better Chinese food restaurant. I have never given anyone a bad review before. This is the first time in my 64 years that Chinese food actually made me throw up. My fiancé and I decided to try panda house tonight, we didn't know how it was going to be since the reviews were all over the place but it actually was good. We each got the combo plate, on was sweet and sour pork with chow mein and the other was sesame chicken with fried rice. Sweet and sour pork tastes the same anywhere pretty much if they don't have the sauce on it, which is what I like so that was really good. The sesame chicken overall was good but it could've been a little lighter on the sauce. My fiancé liked everything but absolutely loved the fried rice and thought that was the best thing we got, I definitely wouldn't go that far but it wasn't bad. Chow mein was pretty good as well, didn't really care much for the egg roll that came with it but overall everything else was pretty good and we both agree that we would definitely come back and try different items next time. read more

Panda House used to be the best takeout chinese in the area, however , recently the ownership has changed and the food suffered. The food is real salty and I asked them to use no salt in preparing the dishes, Mei Fun, & Beef Broccoli. I went back and told the lady at the counter, and too her credit she said the next one was on her. She was good to her word and very pleasent , however the food was just as salty as the first time and the noodles were gooey and all stuck together.
