Chinese food can be real hit-or-miss. With Panda Express, you at least know it's not going to be a total miss, even if it's not always a hit. There's really something to be said for that consistency. Obviously Rice, right around the corner, is going to taste much better. It'll also be more expensive. Panda Express has a great online ordering system, they are fast, and the calories are listed right there. You pay average prices (hard to call any price "low" or "a bargain" on the tail end of the worst inflation that anyone's ever seen since Nixon took us off the gold standard). The place is clean and there's no fuss about your takeout. Eating there is OK, too. I really don't have anything to complain about. We had Kung Pao Chicken, string Bean Chicken, Pepper Chicken, Mushroom Chicken and Grilled Teriyaki Chicken. Yea, we had all chicken as I am very particular with my beef. I was afraid their beef would be overkill, and I'm not much for fried food. To my taste, their noodle wasn't cooked enough. All the chicken were tender, even the white meat. I feel that baking powder was used as tenderize. It's ok but when over used, the meat loses their texture. All told food were tasty. I would come back. I don't usually go to Panda Express, but my school district was doing a fundraiser. You had to order online for pick up or delivery, which seemed simple. However, I couldn't find where to put the code in to give a fundraiser credit. I tried to call the store after placing an order, but they we unable to apply the code or to delete my order to renter the code myself. They instructed me to call customer service. By the time I reached customer service and went through the process of deleting my order my current order was ready for pick up. Needless to say it was very hard to support a fundraiser through Panda Express. When I received my order, I was disappointed at the quality and portion. I got a bowl with noodles and upgraded for the shrimp. The noodles were very dry and there are only a few shrimp. Not worth the upcharge. Not a fan to say the least! read more

We just stopped at the Panda Express on Kirkwood Hwy. my wife asked the young Asian girl about one of the entrees on display. The girl responded "it's right on the glass" like we were idiots. I'm on a business trip, stopping buy for a takeout. It is Sunday evening meal hour, yet the counters are 90% almost empty with left over meat pieces that seem to be sitting there for a long time. The staff are totally not happy people, they don't greet customers, they don't ask, they are not happy. The staff at the back are not cooking at all and there are three of them. The front staff have a very difficult look, I say thank you but the staff say nothing. The manager needs to investigate, meals should be happy, people should be happy. I've eaten from many Panda Express locations in Los Angeles, both stand-alone and within Pavilions Grocery store. Always pretty good with decent serving sizes and friendly staff. This location on Kirkwood Highway looks very attractive but the selection is pitiful and the staff are either rude or poorly trained or both. Unwilling to be flexible, incapable of explaining the menu options/ portion options and just generally useless. The food too was forgettable. Greasy, very little protein in the serving and just meh. I ordered the Kung pao chicken, the sesame, chicken, an eggroll and a side of the chow mein noodles. The Kung pao chicken was OK. I liked the spice level and the nuts tasted fresh. What I was not expecting was big chunks of zucchini and what I think was squash. The portion of chicken was pretty small. The sesame chicken was awful. It was pale, had a pasty interior and flavorless chicken. Not appetizing, and it went right in the trash. The chicken eggroll tasted strongly of ginger and looked like a tube of white paste with carrots in it. Egg rolls I've had in the past from other places, contain shredded, cabbage, and seasonings and are crisp on the outside. This seemed like maybe it was frozen and microwaved. One bite and in the trash. Those chow mein noodles were the worst noodles I've ever been served from any place, hands-down. They had a peculiar texture, were absolutely dry, and had no flavor. It was like they took old vermicelli out of the trash and put it on my plate. One bite and it went in the trash to join the sesame chicken and egg. Roll There is not much to enjoy here. Also, all the food was cold. I do not have a long drive home, and other takeout is still warm when I get it home so this tells me the food was not really hot when they served it. The person waiting on me was polite and efficient. I never tried Panda Express before and I did not enjoy the food at all. Came to Panda Express for dinner after a long time on August 12 @8:45 with plenty of time to order. The person making our order was very rude and had an attitude towards me and my family. When I asked about fortune cookies, the employee (a middle aged woman with braided red hair) got triggered and began to argue with me about how she would "do it when she was done" and repeatedly said "is that it?" "Are you done?". I kindly told the woman that I deserved to be treated with respect considering I was paying for my meal and service. This new Panda Express location is a bit out of the way for me, so they had been in business for four months before I got around to trying the restaurant. From westbound Kirkwood Highway, I made a U-turn at the next traffic light intersection to get to the restaurant parking lot. I didn't notice until later that they have another entrance on Old Capitol Trail, so I could've also gone around the block. I like the portion sizes at this location. While some other Panda Express locations have gotten a bit stingy with the food, the server at this location really packed it into the entree box. Also, all the steam trays were full so I did not need to request any entree items. That may vary depending on when you order but still, it's refreshing to see that when my experience at other Panda Express locations is I often have to wait for the items that I want because they don't keep up with demand. read more

I ordered Panda Express delivery through Door Dash. I ordered and paid for a 2 entree - 2 side plate, but received a 1entree - 2 side plate. I called the Restaurant for resolve, and the person I spoke to was very unprofessional and nonchalant. She treated the situation as no big deal, although to me, its the principle. Good customer service, treating customers with respect and professionalism, and quality service must not be mandatory anymore, maybe not even encouraged. The standards have lowered drastically throughout the industry it seems. Until excellent customer service is a requirement, and those not in compliance are held accountable, this will not change. Waste of my time. They were out of the honey sesame chicken i wanted (this is common they don't have what you want ready). So they tell me to wait. Fine and dandy. I wait 10 minutes for it to be ready. The second they put it out i hop back in line. While I'm waiting (a while) for somebody to take my order, the drive through snags the entire thing and they tell me i have to wait again like they didn't just watch me wait 10 minutes. The customer service is poor, the online ordering is not accurate to the time of when the food will be ready. Got to the store to pick up the food at the allotted time and still had to wait for an additional 20minutes, customers walked in and were serviced faster. No explanation until I asked where our order was. No apology for the wait. Called and spoke to the manager he was apologetic, but did not seem sincere in relaying information to his staff. I've been coming here since this location has opened, but the service and the food has continued to decline. My last 2 trips, I've ordered through the drive thru and have been told to go around to the front and wait for the food, I don't mind because it's fresh. However, I do mind that while I spend 20 minutes waiting, no one comes out with my food. The last time it was 25 minutes, when someone came out. I checked the food before leaving and still had to go back in because I was missing food. From ordering to finally getting the correct food, it was a total of 35 minutes. I am absolutely disgusted with this place. The customer service is horrible and the workers are super racist. My family and I experienced the worst service today. A mediocre experience at best. I ordered a plate through DoorDash and it did arrive quickly. However, the food was just not very good. It wasn't even lukewarm, which was surprising. Everything was very chewy and dry, giving me the impression that some of the dishes may have been sitting for a while. I only ended up eating about half of the beef and the rice. I actually only ate a piece or two of the sesame chicken and passed on the rest. The best thing about the whole plate was the greens and broccoli. I always went to the Panda Express in the Granite Run Mall. The food was very good.
