On a drive back from NYC my son took a different route around Wilmington, DE than I do. I get off the Delaware Memorial Bridge onto Hwy 13, that has a plethora of gas, fast food and bathroom stops. His expressway route leads directly to Delaware One, which requires an exit for amenities. We chose the Christiana Mall exit, which we thought would offer everything we needed. That turned out to not be the case. We stopped at several businesses to try and fill our needs. I had ordered from Chick-fil-A on the App. It's my "go to" for quick food on the road. We searched everywhere in the strip of stores opposite the Mall. There was absolutely no Chick-fil-A. Finally my son decided to park the vehicle and go inside the mall to look. He was gone for a long time but finally came back with my order. The store was inside the mall with no outside signage or entrance. It wasn't even close to the entrance. Why????? The food at Chick-fil-A's is always the same from store to store. I had my normal grilled chicken sandwich. But never would I choose this store or even this exit. The staff here were really nice and prompt with my order. My complaint is the spicy chicken sandwich. Look at the size of this chicken. I'm missing meat on half a side. I had a Popeyes sandwich recently and the quality of the chicken was way better The flavor of this chicken was good. I wish it was more crunchy with more chicken as well. I ordered the 12 piece grilled chicken nuggets for $6.99 and ended up only receiving 11. It wasn't very busy when I was there, I received my order quickly, however, the tables we're very dirty. I understand that it can get extremely busy in the mall however, there were three people standing at the counter and no one in line. Placed an online order for $60.66, received partial order (understandable for large order) delivered to my car, went inside to obtain the missing item (1 salad), and was greeted with hostility immediately (even before I said a word), was advised they would get my salad, five minutes later still no salad, was advised "it's coming", but still didn't get it. Asked to speak with a manager who was just as rude and advised "they have to make it". Waited longer, finally received it, got home and found it was not as requested (my fault for being dumb enough not to have checked it before leaving, but I just wanted to leave.) Not to mention the rest of the food was ice cold. I have been going to that location for a long time but this was my first time ordering on the app for pick up. This chick-fil-a was normal, it had everything it needed to be a good mall chick-fil-a. The food was delicious as always, one tiny problem was how on the grilled chicken sandwich the customer needed to apply the sauce themselves. So only ordered large unsweetened iced tea, asked for Splenda, was advised first that they had to get some from the back, ten minutes later I was told they had to "drive" to get some, but they did have sugar. I'm diabetic so that is why I asked for any other sweetener other than sugar. I walked down to another fast food place, asked for Splenda, was promptly handed them with a smile. In the time it took me to get back to Chik Fil A & ask to speak w/ the manager I was told the moment I walked away they "found" them. Quick service and very good food! One of the better Chick Fil A shakes I've had and the fries were particularly awesome. Everything came out piping hot (well, minus the shake!) and it was cooked exactly as I expected. Exceptional customer service! The cashiers were very polite and efficient, especially Deborah who took my order. She asked me questions with a smile and didn't forget the little details, like how many sauces I wanted. The workers didn't seem stressed even though there was a long line of hungry xmas shoppers. The wait was very short considering how many orders were in front of me. As I was finishing my meal, Violet approached my table and asked if I wanted a refill. I thought she was kidding!
