There are people who prefer fast food they just do. I know people who prefer some fast food meals over Michelin star restaurant meals because of the portions sizes and cost . It's just their habit and some are just raised that way. Being born and raised in San Francisco I was fortunate to have great mom and pops local restaurants to enjoy all over San Francisco. During the holiday season it seems fast food places are the most requested places to go during the shopping season. Some people are impatient and want to eat right there right now even though there are some way better food a few blocks away. Growing up in the Mission District in San Francisco I would be puzzled on why people would order a 5 layer burrito from Taco Bell and would not go to 5 Taquerias within in a three block radius to grab a Mission District Burrito. I barely do fast food on my own and when I do it's usually with friends not in San Francisco. During the Holiday season I went to a fast food place which a Taiwanese born Chef invented the Orange Chicken. Located at Laurel Village in San Francisco there is a Panda Express. Clement street is one of the best places in the USA to grab Chinese food and is just down the road of this Panda Express . I was puzzled to why go to the Panda Express when there are literally dozens of better options for Chinese food on Clement street. I wasn't going to be ungrateful because they were treating me for a meal so I decided to get a plate at Panda Express. I got the Honey walnut shrimp and the orange chicken. The honey walnut shrimp was just okay and the orange chicken was tasty but just too sweet. Come here if you have A Christmas Story the movie holiday meal experience . Remember this place is take out only. The orange chicken was invented at a Hawaiian Panda Express by "Chef Kao" another dish they also sell at Panda Express that has "fowl "is the "Kung Pao " If You Know You Know ( IYKYK) if you don't ,you know "now " In the holiday season if you didn't cook and the stores are closed on Christmas and you feel" stuck" and you are thinking by going to Panda Express you will save an extra " buck" my recommendation would be to go a few blocks on Clement street and get some delicious " Chinese duck" so you can have a better Christmas dinner this year and bring on the new year with better "luck" read more

Stopped by Panda Express #3449 in SF to cash in my birthday gift and grabbed a Panda Bowl (half chow mein, half fried rice) with Beijing Beef and a medium Super Greens side. The place was clean, the staff (shoutout to Junjie) friendly and efficient, and the bowl hit exactly like a dependable, savory lunch should -- salty-sweet Beijing Beef, solid fried rice, and greens that didn't taste sad. Total was $10.86 with the birthday credit applied, and my Panda Points are happily inching up. If you want fuss-free takeout that's consistent and actually pleasant to pick up on your lunch break, this location is a yes. Opted for a bigger plate which consisted of a side plus 2 mains on the plate and a small container main. nice thing is that the serving platters were not huge so you know the kitchen needs to continually be cooking. Service was very personable, the space clean & attractive. My choice meats fried and sauced which were all good, my side the chow mein needed some soy, but still good. Got a weds deal that I couldn't pass up. 2 plates for $14. What? A plate =2 entrees and 1 side. Got super greens. Love it. So garlicky. Chicken with mushrooms. Hardly any mushrooms. Eggplant and tofu, tiny kick. This was wok fresh. Beef broccoli. I had to wait for them to cook some more so that means it is freshly made, not sitting around. Depends on your server. Clean location with fast service. Ordered a Bigger Plate, which comes with three entrees and a side. For my side, I chose Chow Mein. Next time, I would try a half / half of Chow Mein & Super Greens. For my three entrees, I got two orange chicken and one eggplant and tofu. These are my go to options at Panda Express and they are always good. I really wish they had a tofu + green beans options. I also ordered a Chicken Egg Roll, which was super soggy and not crunchy at all. I will never order fried food from Panda Express again. read more

Usually this location is a good place but tonight the experience is horrible, the portion is so small. Other Panda Express locations give generous portions, but this location is very stingy. I normally have a pleasant experience at this location. As a matter of fact, I preferred this location out of all the others in the city. However, today is the day I've decided to not come back here. I saw one of the workers, an Asian woman, wipe her nose with the back of her hand, and proceeded to cook the food, without washing her hands. I walked out immediately after witnessing that. Love stopping by here for quick, easy takeout. Good prices and tasty American Chinese food. The plate is a good deal, and comes with two entrees plus a base. You can even split the base to be half rice and half chow mein. Favorites here are the kung pao chicken, string bean chicken, honey walnut shrimp, and more recently their new sizzling shrimp. The sizzling shrimp is so good. The sauce is rich and savory with tender grilled shrimp. Comes with juicy grilled onions and peppers. The portions are pretty small though. So excited that we now have a Panda Express takeout spot in the Laurel neighborhood. Panda replaced where Noah's Bagel used to be. We came by and ordered the bigger plate (3 items) and a rice bowl to share. More than enough food for us. I think the only downside is that there's no seating. However there are a few benches outside. Or you can eat at home or at the office. Open until 9 pm, so another option besides Super Duper and Proposition Chicken. read more

The food is the same as in all their locations that I've tried. I like the fact that I know what I'm getting when I order. A big problem is that when I want the eggplant tofu at this location (my usual entree), they are out of stock about 70% (a conservative estimate) of the time. I have to wait usually 2 to 4 minutes for it to be available. The next closest location is the one on Fillmore; they always have all menu items ready to go every time I've gone there. Ordered a family feast of chow mein, super vegetables, orange chicken, Beijing beef, mushroom chicken, and a medium side of walnut shrimp for takeout. The food was mostly tasty. The chow mein was kind of plain. The super vegetables weren't garlicy like the the super vegetables from the Stonestown mall location. The orange chicken and mushroom chicken were fine. The Beijing beef had a little bit of spice to it. The serving size of the super vegetables, Beijing beef, and walnut shrimp could have been larger and actually take up all the space in the container! This should be the case especially for the medium size of walnut shrimp since it's a premium item and costs more! The shrimp only come up to about half the container! And there were barely and walnuts-maybe half a walnut was present. read more

It's sad that this business doesn't understand customer service. When a customer wants to spend more money and change their order you should take their money, not be completely inflexible about increasing ala carte sizing. The staff should learn how to use their POS system to make simple changes to orders already paid for. They also put less protein in the bowl then any other Panda Express location so they are also gouging their customers. Typically, I love a little Panda every once and a while. My friend and I stopped here for dinner, and let's just say we were in for a world of disappointment. Regretfully, I did not snap a pic of the meal, but we both got the bowl with orange chicken and fried rice. The portion was a joke. Fried rice with literally 3 pieces of chicken, no exaggeration. Came in and order a bowl with white rice and the new Beyond orange chicken. There were about 9 pieces of chicken left in the pan when they served it to me which is already not a lot of food as it is but the woman then proceeded to only give me 7 pieces of beyond chicken that didn't even fill up the bowl. You are also charged extra for a "specialty item" so I paid around $12 for 7 pieces of chicken. I don't know what they were saving the other two pieces in the pan for but it was ridiculous. read more
