This is the first ever McD's that charges you for the paper bags and gave out paper straws. It's definitely an SF thing and even as a California native, this is so bizarre. The straw immediately broke when we put it into our drink, by the way, so keep this in mind so you might have to ask for an extra one or be careful if you're trying to drink in the car. The entire parking lot and the drive thru line is limited in space, so anything over 3-4 cars (depending on the cars since so many cars are now bigger and longer without actually carrying more people or things), leak out into the main street. Lots of people and potentially vagrants walking around 11 PM. Our Diet Dr. Pepper was just that and was perfect after a concert. Service was efficient enough for the limited space and handing customers things individually since no one wants to pay for the actual bags. I would never go here normally though, FYI. read more

I definitely do not recommend this McDonald's location. This was hands down some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. From the front-line staff to the manager, every interaction was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. There was zero courtesy and absolutely no sense of customer care. I specifically spoke with the manager today to explain that all of her employees were behaving rudely and that their behavior clearly reflects leadership. Instead of taking accountability or listening, she vehemently denied there was an issue and seemed genuinely unable--or unwilling--to understand why her staff's behavior was unacceptable. Leadership sets the tone, and in this case, the tone is poor. If you're looking for basic respect or professionalism, I strongly suggest avoiding this location. read more

2.5 stars rounded to 3. Very mixed bag experience here. We needed to eat and decompress in between sightseeing rounds and decided to hit up the best fast food chain candidate for parking, pricing, and past experience precedent. Well, you can't beat the nearest McDonald's, right? Not quite. The parking lot is so tiny, you can't even drive along the street past the queue of cars crammed in there trying to enter or exit. We weren't about to camp for a spot, so we turned the corner and were able to find street parking. We entered and were immediately confused by the apparent lack of human service. There was a row of self-serve kiosks, and a front counter devoid of either staff or menu board. Eventually, a staff appeared at the cash, but we were unable to choose anything from a menu, because it doesn't exist. You must either use the app, the kiosk, or your own brain's connection to the Borg. We had no idea what was on offer besides the perpetually available signature items, so we ordered a quarter pounder meal; and 2 McCrispy meals, which we subsequently learned were not what we described to the staff. Crispy chicken sandwich should be a breaded fillet with mayo, lettuce, tomato. Instead, we got heavily oil-drenched, deep-fried fillets with one piece of pickle and nothing else. The fries at least were hot and fresh. We also had to waste a stupid amount of time figuring out what beverage options they had. It's a fairly large location with plenty of seating. The 2 washrooms are locked, individual use rooms, and the lineup was constant. They are roomy, and were an acceptable level of cleanliness. I really wavered with whether to round up to 3 or down to 2. In the end I had to go up to 3 given that it was the only place we could find to meet our needs. Between the street parking amidst no parking anywhere else; the price point; free Wi-Fi; and relatively relaxed/comfortable seating, we were able to decompress, have our meal at a leisurely pace, and make full use of the facilities so that we were ready to head off to our next destination. On the other hand, I'd make sure to go to another location that has human beings at the ready to serve human customers, and a posted menu that doesn't require the Borg to access it. read more

Worst food ever! What happened to this McDonald's? It used to be the best! My stomach churned all night with a sour burping sickening taste in my mouth. I'd say perhaps this was Food Poisoning. I Ordered the Drive Thru $5 Chicken meal. Came with dried fries and a salty flat fizzless orange soda. Also got the buy one get one for $1. I got a double cheeseburger and the chicken sandwich. Somewhere in there they threw in 4 Chicken Nuggets. Everything was dry, tough, overcooked, flavorless. The fries had no salt. They used the same oil to cook everything. It tasted disgusting like burnt fish, old raw hamburger, leftover chicken, and yesterdays fries. Everything was dark brown and reminded me of green mold food your not supposed to serve a dog. The workers were polite and courteous. They learned how to be nice knowing they're not eating it. Then why are they serving, food that smelled like 3 day old skunk road kill. Dear McDonald's, I hope this letter finds you well, unlike the state of my recent visit to your establishment. I must say, the service I received was slower than a sloth on a Sunday morning. The employees were moving at a pace that made a snail look like Usain Bolt. I half-expected to see cobwebs forming on the fryer as I waited for my order. And don't even get me started on the attitude of the staff. I encountered a young lady, or at least I think she was a lady with that long red hair, who refused to give me my Double Quarter Pounder. It was like she was guarding the golden arches with her life. I had to resist the urge to challenge her to a duel for my rightful burger. The customer service experience here is ASS. I'm not even trying to sound like a dick but the person who works infront I think it's a guy/girl with long red hair is rude as hell. It tastes and looks just like I remember it. Nothing crazy. Basic. If you like extra ketchup make sure you ask for it. The employees work really hard and I've never had an issue. When patronizing any Fast Food Restaurant there are some basic rules to follow to maximize your experience. (1) use their mobile applications, this minimizes miscommunications, and removes confrontations with the staff in regards to pricing, and deals. (2) it helps to know what the most efficient pickup method is be it lobby or drive in window, at this location I normally recommend using the window, just be aware persons wanting money are often at both ends of the window option. (3) McDonalds has 2 ways to access special pricing, Deals & Rewards, but only 1 of these options can be accessed per order. At this location I prefer to pickup via my car, often there is a line of cars but it's never been long, and it moves at a fair pace. The area has a particular energy, but it's never felt unsafe though I keep my window up till I arrive at the order speaker so as not to tempt fate. If you have any special requests make them known when you check in. Today for example my order was an Iced Hazelnut Coffee, but at check in it was my request to omit the Ice :) As for the staff, I have found them to be highly pleasant, friendly, and professional, my suggestion extend them some respect it can help them maintain a positive mindset. Service is usually a little slow if you order there, probably because they have lots of orders to fill. Delivery is great because you pay for the convenience. Like most other reviews left for this "McDonald's " location , the food is disgusting. I've never had McDonald's food ever like this before. Everything we ordered is stale and old. Unfortunately we ordered through UberEats. Not what I would ever expect from a big chain business. I hope they improve or get closed down because this is unacceptable. Especially for a franchise that is well known by all and in the location that it is in. Many of the San Francisco foods have become very disappointing and different from what it used to be even for the price you pay. Overall I would not recommend this location. I'm happy about the renovations to this McDonald's! I like the new seating and new tech like ordering from the screens or app. I like getting the loyalty rewards through the app! Absolutely nothing appealing about this experience. 1 star because 0 or even more appropriate, a negative value, was not an option What did not appeal. 1: the drive through person stopped taking my order for a minute halfway through the ordering process without letting me in on the fact that I was wasting my breath. 2: the digital menu sign is broken and has horizontal lines running across screen ( not their fault but is essentially the reason the next issue happened ) 3: at the window, I am given my order ( for the most part) but my coffee is iced when I specified hot... this would have caught my eye or ear had my order been confirmed verbally or the digital menu sign that displays the order was a thing people could read! Anyhow, I tell the woman who hands me my food that I ordered hot coffee, not iced ( she also happens to be dressed in management regalía ). The reply I get is "well, it says iced so..." and then a gesture to move along! I was too surprised at the audacity to even respond, so I gave it a shrug and pulled into a spot to get out and use the restroom. 4: I go to the only available, single person, un-stocked bathroom ( mind you they are not even a loose description of busy ), I stop because I see that there is no toilet paper or seat covers. When I go to tell the same "lady" that she has no toilet paper in the restroom, she doesn't even look at who she is speaking with ( not busy ) and replies "I don't know, may in like 20 or 30 minutes we'll take care of it " ... WTF?!? Never again, I feel insulted that I paid for this experience at all.
