Worst experience at Panda Express I've ever had. Ordered online ahead of time. Specifically chose a later pick up time that I knew would coincide with my arrival. I received a text message more than 15 minutes before my scheduled pick up time telling me my order was ready and to "Get it while it's hot and fresh!" which I obviously couldn't do as I was still driving there. I got there a few minutes before my scheduled pick up time, and saw my food just sitting on a shelf behind the register, instead of where normal online orders are located off to the side, meaning I would have to wait for someone to help me before I could receive my food. By the time someone was available to assist me, my food had been sitting on this shelf for nearly 20 minutes. I asked the person working the register if it was at least under a heat lamp or something to keep it warm or if it had just been sitting there getting cold, and she rolled her eyes at me and said, it's either sitting back there or over there, either way it's the same result. I informed her that I specifically requested the pick up time that I did so that my food would not be sitting out and getting cold before I could pick it up, and she replied "Well we just make it immediately as soon as the order comes through." So what exactly is the point of selecting a specific pick up window if you're not going to honor it? I requested that my order be re-packaged with stuff that was hot and fresh. She fired back with exacerbation and snapped that I would have to wait a bit, but I said no problem, and stepped to the side to wait for my order to be re-prepared. Never once during our interaction did she apologize for their error or the inconvenience. I've worked in customer service plenty enough to know how to interact with customers, especially when there is fault on the company's side, and this was definitely not it. Once my order was re-prepared she refused to make eye contact, tossed my food- in a box that was not even properly closed- on the online order shelf, and half mumbled out my name. I had been planning on thanking her for remaking the order despite her horrible attitude, but she immediately turned and stalked back to the register, so I didn't bother. I know I probably should have checked all of the boxes before I left the restaurant, but I was already behind schedule due to the added wait time, so I took my chances. Imagine my disappointment when I got to my destination and was unpacking the food and found that one of my entree boxes was only about 2/3 full, and that requesting packets of teriyaki sauce meant that they would include exactly one packet. For $45 worth of food. Meant, by their own descriptions, to feed five people. I've spent a lot of money at this location over the years. Whenever we have guests in from out of town we always place a very large order for one night of their stay. I will likely look for an alternative location moving forward. read more

I went to Panda Express in a moment of weakness driving from Wixom to Plymouth and needing to stop for something fast and easy. I was surprised at how busy this location was, especially since it's located in a sea of similar fast-casual businesses (a CAVA, QDOBA, Five Guys, Noodles & Co, and more are all within the same adjacent plazas). I had a big back moment and ordered a bigger plate, which was about $12 before my first order discount of $2 off, which was a tremendous deal for the sheer amount of food that it came with. I got a mix of greens and lo mein as my base, and orange chicken, spicy beef, and teriyaki chicken as my mains. One thing I found odd (though not upsetting) was that they put one of the mains in a separate container. I didn't quite realize how much food it was until I started eating and was stuffed after half the lo mein and one of the entrees. Nevertheless she persisted. The teriyaki chicken is a great "healthyish" option, the orange chicken is 90% breading but checks the box for a nasty little treat, and the beef had an odd texture but the taste was good. There could be some things to improve - for example, I would love it if they had chopsticks out to grab instead of just forks (but I guess if you want the authentic experience you don't go to Panda Express) and they also, in my opinion, should have sauce packets available to grab rather than needing to request them with your order. I ordered online and picked up in store. The online experience was seamless and pick up was ready at the quoted time, so no complaints there. Shockingly, I would return. read more

Man I'm not sure where to start. Months ago this panda was good but recently TERRIBLE. A few weeks ago it took me no exaggeration 1 hour to get my food when I placed my order online. Today I ordered on Uber Eats and they completely didn't put my entree in the box. They decided to write a nice little X on the sticker and leave the food slot empty. My boyfriend and I came here yesterday because Panda is doing 25% off if you sign up for their new rewards program on their app. I used to LOVE Panda Express in college, especially the orange chicken, but I haven't had it for a while. We both got 2-meat plates - I got orange chicken, mushroom chicken, and fried rice, and he got Beijing beef, broccoli beef, and fried rice. I've never been a fan of the sides at Panda, it probably didn't help that I just had hibachi recently as well so the fried rice wasn't that great. The orange chicken was pretty tasty and the mushroom chicken was okay. The Beijing beef was supposed to be spicy, my boyfriend can do spice and he didn't think it was spicy but I thought it was a little spicy. The beef with broccoli was just okay. Panda does have good prices, a 2-meat plate with one side (and no drink) is $9.70. You can also do combos for $11 to $13, which includes an appetizer and a drink and one to two meats. We will probably be back at some point to use other coupons from Panda but it's not a place I need to rush back to anytime soon. read more

I placed a takeout order on September 14th with a promised pickup time of 6:24 PM. I arrived at 6:35 PM to find a line out the door and only three employees on staff--clearly short-handed, but also moving without any urgency. After waiting nearly an hour, my order still hadn't come out. When I asked for an update, I was told it would "be a minute." I politely requested a refund and was told the manager would be notified. I left without any food. Later, I discovered I'd been charged the full amount anyway--followed by a notification that my order was "ready" long after I had already left. Since then, I've tried calling the store multiple times with no answer, and the corporate website only redirects back to this location for order support. Charging customers for food you never provide, while offering no accountability, is unacceptable. It's no wonder customers leave feeling frustrated and cheated. read more

Good American Chinese food fast. Same across all locations. I liked I was able to just order a kid's meal since I wasn't going straight home and their portions are too large for one sitting for me. Limited choices, just 3, but all are low calorie. While parking lot spaces can be hard to find at times, they do have lots of table space compared to other locations. There is only one way into the parking lot, off the drive from Novi Rd. Quality food and some of the best single use chop sticks you get at these type of food places. I was craving sweet and sour sauce - you know the kind, a deep red sauce that makes fried food taste even better than it already does. My go-to Chinese restaurants were not open either because it was a Sunday or because it was too early in the day. So after a quick trip to the grocery store, inspiration hit and I was off to the Panda Express in Novi. I like that Panda Express is cafeteria styled, meaning that the meal is already prepared. Guests can select one of three portion sizes: Bowl - 1 entrée + 1 side Plate - 2 entrées + 1 side Bigger Plate - 3 entrées + 1 side Family and kids' meals are also available. For the side, guests are asked to select either rice (white, brown, fried) or chow mein. Vegetables (broccoli, kale, and zucchini) are also an option which is what I get since I'm always watching my carbs and calories. Note that all the nutrition info is displayed online and calories are listed on the menu in the store. The sweet and sour chicken was unfortunately unavailable on the day of my visit so I went with the orange chicken, crispy chicken in a wonderfully tangy and spicy orange sauce. As well, I ordered the almond chicken, deep-fried chicken goodness with almonds in a garlic sauce, and beef and broccoli, yes, I went with more broccoli. The sizable meal meant that there was enough for lunch and dinner. It is always surprising given that all the food is already cooked, it takes such a long time to order and pay. There are usually enough people behind the counter but whether it is the Middlebelt location or this one, the line is long and slow. The majority of us did take-out. Do not order from this location! I ordered lunch thru Uber eats today. Got the meal with 2 sides and 2 mains. It showed up in a container HALF the size of the picture on the app. There was a decent amount of rice, and a ton of broccoli. My two mains were beef/broccoli and Gen Taos chicken. There were a couple pieces of beef. THERE WAS 1 TINY PIECE OF CHICKEN. Only 1. I looked very close. I kept expecting to eat another 6 pieces of broccoli and then uncover a stash of chicken. But no. This is the closest Panda Express to our home and is thankfully not far because I crave it often! I've found the quality of food here to be better than some of the other locations. It is usually jampacked during lunch and dinner hours so ordering ahead is your best bet. The portions are somewhat variable and sometimes you end up with a lot of vegetables and not enough protein, but overall I think this location strikes a good balance in their entrées. I usually get the plate when I'm picking up food for myself only. The portions here are smaller than other locations. The building isn't situated well for lines so the wait is very awkward with people both inside and out. I don't think the quality of food or the service has declined since I last visited Panda Express several years ago! This time I took my Dad who enjoyed the Walnut shrimp, chow mein and fried rice. I tried the shrimp and it had a very light breading, sweet and sour sauce and pieces of walnuts. I ordered the orange chicken which had a hint of spice and tang of orange to the sauce. This location is still learning. Their process is slower than many Panda locations. Also, they run out of fast-selling items, such as, the chow mein and the orange chicken. Those are top sellers and they should anticipate the need for getting the food out in a systematic manner. Many times, there is, at least, a wait for your food that shouldn't occur. Their portions are very inconsistent as well. The other comment is that they put way too many onions in their chow mein, much more than other locations. I have been to so many Pandas, in MI and in other states. This location has a long way to go. The service is decent, but that gets muddled by the long wait for food. The place is neat and well-kept and the tables are clean. But, this is not my preferred location. I actually waited over ten min for chow mein. That's really not acceptable. read more

I'm on a tight budget so I got the kids meal with fried rice, chicken sesame entree, small cup for a drink, a chocolate chunk cookie and a fortune cookie..all for just $5.94. Food was ok. Better than eating processed burgers and fries. Had a second cup of unsweetened tea. Fortune cookie tasted crunchy and delicious sweet! Parking is a bit tricky. You have to find your way at the back. Restrooms are available and clean. Lots of long tables available even though it's lunch hour. Comfy seats. Answer the survey and get a free entree on the next visit. Panda Express is delicious and I love coming to eat here when I can. Yes, I know it's fast casual chinese food, but it's just sssoooo gooooood. But, as you know, not all Panda's taste the same! Maybe I was starving, but this Panda was delicious! I rolled in here famished, and there was a short line, and I wasn't worried, until it was slower than hell to place my order. They seemed to be understaffed, and usually the line moves fast at Panda's. I will chalk it up as just being understaffed. They also were running low on a few dishes already, and it was just after noon. I guess it was busy before I got there? I went with the usual Orange Chicken, fried rice and rangoons. The rice was good here as they had just restocked it when I walked in. (I watched them do it, that's how I know.) Clean and friendly like most panda express restaurants, but that is the end of anything positive at this location. This locations manager is very cheap when scooping food, Portions are smaller and I even waited around eight minutes because they would not even stock the steak dishes in the middle of dinner rush, and guess what he scoops more vegetables than meat! I understand the manager needs to control food cost because that's probably part of his bonus but this is Ridiculous! If anybody ever goes here, don't go in when the manager is scooping food. Also I asked for Teriyaki sauce on the side and hot chili paste on the side and none of those items were in my bag. Is it that hard to do this job? Nice place to get quick, fresh, Asian American food. The interior is bright, clean, and modern. The staff are all friendly and offer samples of the entrees to everyone. It's an open kitchen, so you can see them making all the food fresh in front of your eyes. The fridges are stocked with fresh, vibrant produce. I got a plate to go, with chow mein, Orange chicken, and broccoli beef. While I think the noodles were greasier than they needed to be, they were flavorful and addicting. The broccoli was fresh and crunchy (not over cooked) and the beef was tender. The orange chicken was pretty good - crunchy underneath the sauce and not too much breading. Portion sizes weren't particularly generous, nor were they stingy. I'd recommend this place as long as you're not expecting actual authentic Chinese food. read more
