If you are a fan of spicy chicken, this has to be one of your go tos! Since they've opened, the menu has changed, slightly. They used to offer a salad but turned that into a wrap. And they offer a cheeseburger on toast. All orders are cooked once placed, so there is about a 15 minute wait. But honestly, it is worth it! You can choose your spicy level from mild to extra hot. I love spice and usually stick with medium. The chicken sandwich and the byrd bomb is probably my favorite. As for the sides, the potato salad and fries are my fav. I'm not a chef, so I don't know how you get it that way! The texas toast was fine too. It was shortly after they opened.So I was the only customer there. There is plenty of seating for dining in. Super clean establishment, order at the counter, take a seat at one of the large tables and wait for your order. The food is halal, made to order, and the portions are large! I happen to be in the area for another reason and saw this place. I decided to give it a try. Comparison to all the other similar chicken places that have started to pop up, this is nothing spectacular. Chicken with varying levels of spice. I had the Byrd Bomb. Broken up fried chicken on a bed of fries, a piece of Texas Toast and coleslaw covered in their sauce that is customized according to your desired spice level. The Texas toast is so soggy so it's not really worth eating by the time you reach the bottom. The sauce tastes like spiced melted cheese that you would get with nachos. I would return but not make a special trip. The associates are very welcoming and explain their concept and the varying level of spice. Also their recommendations for their sides (basic and premium). Pretty disappointing meal... was hoping for so much more. Ordered the Byrd Bites Platter and upgraded from fries to crispy green beans, no drink. The meal was just under $20 w/tax ($13.99 meal + $2.99 for upgrade). The crispy green beans were the best part of the meal but not worth the upcharge to only get about 10 small beans (see photo). I got the chicken with the firecracker sauce which was more lemony than spicy. The chicken itself was not that good, the breading and sauce was all you bit into. The seating can accommodate large or small groups. Parking was part of larger strip mall. I hate to compare but Chick-Fil-A across the street would have been cheaper with better quality chicken and fries. 2 stars for the Service. They were very nice. And the second spice level, hot, had a nice heat to it that wasn't too much but just right. We ordered the first second and third special that was on the menu which is the chicken sandwich the chicken tenders and then the bird bomb. All of them were very good spicy is what we got ours to be at the different levels mild medium and super hot. The chicken was very hot, crispy, and well flavored. The inside was very tender. The gentleman taking our order was patient while we tried to figure out our order. He offered suggestions of sauce and said they make each meal fresh so to give it a little bit to cook. We only waited about 10-15 mins max for our food. The portions are very generous. My son and I both did the tenders. The 24k sauce was my favorite out of the few. The chicken was very fresh and the breading was delicious. I got the Mac n cheese and fries. The fries were lightly seasoned and pretty crisp- I'd probably pass on the Mac-n-cheese next time and try some other sides, but that is just my opinion, not that exciting. First time eating at Byrd's tonight. It seems like every time I turn around there's a new chicken restaurant. I try most of them that I can. Byrd's stands out for several reasons. First of all the food is delicious. We got the Byrd Bomb and Bomb Bites with Crispy green beans. I got medium on the bomb and my family went plain and mild for their food. All spice levels were appropriate. Good quality chicken as well! The green beans were very yummy. The fries were good, but I didn't care for the mac and cheese. I also thought the sauce was delicious. My boyfriend got the chick n donut with fries and crispy green beans. He really liked the sandwich and said the donuts tasted like Krispy Kreme. He also liked the fries. We both loved the crispy green beans. We're both for sure getting it next time.
