I wanted to give it 4.5 stars but that's not possible. I got the three piece finger meal to take home/mild spice. They have four or five levels of spiciness. The chicken was extremely tender and moist. The mild spice was just right for me. It came with a side. I chose Mac and cheese. American cheese could have had a little more crispy topping to it. I'm not a chef, so I don't know how you get it that way! The texas toast was fine too. It was shortly after they opened. So I was the only customer there. There is plenty of seating for dining in. Things looked clean and tidy. The co owner and the person that accompanied him were both very friendly and looking forward to reviews, good or bad. The only thing I would I'd like to see is maybe baked beans on the menu of sides. I hesitated to place a review since this was my first visit but not my last. But I do want people to know it's worth a first visit and a second, and a third. Just to get an idea of the menu, which is fairly extensive. Something for everyone. Adequate parking just before you get to bob's furniture.

Byrd's Hot Chicken hit the spot on our road trip. Easy on/off from 96, located near Twelve Oaks Mall. Super clean establishment, order at the counter, take a seat at one of the large tables and wait for your order. The food is halal, made to order, and the portions are large! I had to order a strawberry shake with my spicy chicken sandwich. I'm glad I did m. It cooled my palate right off. My son got the Byrd Bomb, a mash up of everything on a platter. Well worth the money (especially for his appetite!) I had to get a taste, and it was spicy, unique, and delicious! This is was our first time dining at a Byrds. We will definitely be back!

Pretty disappointing meal... was hoping for so much more. Ordered the Byrd Bites Platter and upgraded from fries to crispy green beans, no drink. The meal was just under $20 w/tax ($13.99 meal + $2.99 for upgrade). The crispy green beans were the best part of the meal but not worth the upcharge to only get about 10 small beans (see photo). I got the chicken with the firecracker sauce which was more lemony than spicy. The chicken itself was not that good, the breading and sauce was all you bit into. The seating can accommodate large or small groups. Parking was part of larger strip mall. I hate to compare but Chick-Fil-A across the street would have been cheaper with better quality chicken and fries. 2 stars for the Service. They were very nice. For the price and overall taste, I probably will not be back.

It's a little on the pricey side but good chicken sandwiches. The staff was very attentive checking in on us a coke times during our visit. The restaurant was clean a little dark but clean.

My family and I were in the area and looking for somewhere great to eat, luckily we found this place. It looks brand new inside so that was a plus. The menu is straight forward so we all ordered something we liked. We dined in and everything was very good. We all enjoyed our choices. One unique thing I want to point out about this restaurant is that they're zabiha halal ! We didn't know the different between that and regular halal until the manager came and told us all about how natural the process is! Something totally unexpected but worth bragging: The crispy green beans are fresh, fried, and fricking SCRUMPTIOUS! I can see myself ordering those just by themselves!

This place has really really good chicken: perfectly cooked and lots of juicy meat. The wings are exceptional. Although it is technically a chain, it is run like a small family restaurant. They had some unadvertised specials, which basically let me take out an amazing platter of wings for nearly half off. The seating leaves a lot to be desired if you like having your feet touch the ground.

    BYRD BOMB: 9.0/10

I've only gotten byrds hot chicken for takeout at work, and this is by far one of the best hot chicken spots I've ever been to. HIGHLY recommend the Byrd bomb, pictured above. So acidic, so much chicken, so creamy, so good. If you're around the area and in need of a good, no GREAT chicken sandwich, try this spot out

Order at the counter. Only one low table top, all the rest are higher tops. We ordered two tender combos: 1 medium with crispy green beans (extra $3 upcharge) and potato salad, 1 supahot with fries and potato salad. $34.95 They only have some generic fancy tomato ketchup, not a good sign. Their tender combo only comes with two tenders here. Their tenders are small here, heavily breaded too. They are okay. Their fried green beans are quite heavily breaded too. Don't get as much here, even with the combo as our favorite hot chicken spot in Berkley. $2 more for the chicken combo here and you only get two smaller tenders here. The potato salad is creamy, it's good.

Got the chicken sandwich medium spice. I'm glad they talked me out of the hot version! I was debating between hot and supahot and they said neither were a good idea. The medium had just the right amount of kick. As for the chicken it is halal. Pretty well fried 7/10 crispy. Size of chicken 6/10. Loved the slaw and the sauce they included. It was very neutralizing for the hot chicken. Server was friendly. Chicken was freshly fried. $9.5 for chicken without combo. Felt this was fair. Will prly be back.

Located in a plaza with lots of parking. Brightly lit and super clean. The service is very friendly. We ordered the first second and third special that was on the menu which is the chicken sandwich the chicken tenders and then the bird bomb. All of them were very good spicy is what we got ours to be at the different levels mild medium and super hot. The chicken was very hot, crispy, and well flavored. The inside was very tender. Their food is very fresh. We enjoyed the overall experience. The service is very good. I really like the fries. And the potato salad was very tasty. I would recommend people to try this. I would come back and try some of the other options next time. Also, if you follow them on Instagram before you go in, you get 5% off on your total bill.

Great new place. Very clean with friendly staff. Choose your spice level carefully we over did it a bit went medium instead of mild. Chicken was flavorful just a bit on a dry side. Portions are big good for sharing.

Chicken fingers combo (minus a pickle I ate)

We were craving some good chicken and came across the reviews and thought we would try this spot. It's located in the strip of West Oaks, and has room to sit and eat, which is always a plus for me. The gentleman taking our order was patient while we tried to figure out our order. He offered suggestions of sauce and said they make each meal fresh so to give it a little bit to cook. We only waited about 10-15 mins max for our food. The portions are very generous. My son and I both did the tenders. The 24k sauce was my favorite out of the few. The chicken was very fresh and the breading was delicious. I got the Mac n cheese and fries. The fries were lightly seasoned and pretty crisp- I'd probably pass on the Mac-n-cheese next time and try some other sides, but that is just my opinion, not that exciting. The garlic toast was a nice treat too. I'd definitely go back, especially with some other chicken places being lines for days.

    BYRD BOMB

Had the Byrd Bomb and it was everything I hoped it would be and more. Great sauce, great spice, and combination of crunch. Great food. Be cautious, spicy means spicy! I got medium spice upon recommendation and it was perfect. Clean restaurant with plenty of seating. Fast and friendly service and they walked me thru the menu since it was my first visit.

Chicken tenders cook too hard and burnt grease making it crunchy and dark. Wings not cook red at bone. The fries were uncooked inside.

My husband loves their chicken pad Thai but thinks they changed their chicken tenders from real chicken tenders to a frozen tender, and aren't as tasty. I love a fatty, melt in your mouth, tender morsel so I got the pork belly and it was exactly that! There was a little too much kimchi for my taste but that's a good problem to have and it's called Kimchi Box after all haha! You order at the front and you seat yourself, and then they bring the food to your table. There's a soda fountain as well that you can serve yourself. There are multiple fun neon signs that make it feel like you're walking down a busy downtown street without the noise!

You order at a counter. I waited a bit as the person talking orders was also bringing food to customers and making bubble tea. When I ordered. I decided on the royal bulgogi and a brown sugar milk tea with boba. The drink was made while I paid. So I started with it. Sadly it wasn't up to par. ;(. The tapioca boba inside was hard, not chewy. The flavor was fine. But I wouldn't order it again here. Then my meal came out -- it did take a bit of time. I like that it had a variety of items - rice, noodles, a tiny salad and the bulgogi. That said, I didn't think it was near as good as other places I've been to. It was edible. But not amazing. Bummer. For $22 for a meal and drink, I would have hoped for more. But the only way to find out is to try. Not sure I'd come back. Maybe.... But I'd probably just get the noodles.
