The greasy pit of despair. We ordered our food and they were out of egg rolls so the cashier called out for it and we waited till our food was entirely consumed. Two high school girls walked in so naturally, the prepubescents running this location were so distracted by literally leaving the counter to ask one of the girls for her number that they completely forgot to even cook the egg rolls. As he was asking for her number, what appeared to be the manager pretended to fake clean a table to see if the kid was successful and the other kid behind the food line was indicating by a thumbs up or down if he was successful. Super new, clean, and organized. The staff that are running this new Panda Express know what they're doing. Very little wait time even during a lunch rush on Friday. This is definitely a place my coworkers and I can go back to without worrying about long lines. I did not grow up with this kind of food, but it is quite tasty. It's quite busy, I assume because folks in Novi are wondering about this curiosity. This chain is common in various Malls around the country. They opened up a standalone in Livonia which has stayed busy - I've only been that location once so can't make an honest review of it. The new Novi location in the Novi Town Center, is on the receonstructed site, where the old Kim's Gardens restaurant once stood a few years a go. It's not a large place, but the 3 times I've been there, it seems to be always busy. The fare is common mall food type. Dishes of premade food along a steam table, a customer can try a sample. One can order small 1 person entrees with a side to multi-entrees with a side. They even offer "Family" meals which in my honest opinion is the best deal to feed 2 or more folks who aren't sure exactly what they'd like. The prices are comparable to what one might pay for other fast food in/around Novi. 1 entree with 1 side around $7 or so. to $9 for 3 entrees and 1 side. My favorite thing - is at request - Any dish can be made Fresh to Order My one gripe is some entrees are sold at a Premium - cost an additional free. I can understand Shrimp would cost more, but they charge extra for certain Beef entrees. The eatery is open till 10pm. For Novi, almost every restaurant closes by 9pm or 10pm. After 830pm, they seem to have less "fresh" items, so folks who just want something in-out fresh, there is a wait. The do not offer much for appetizers other than some flavorless spring rolls (vegetarian), over-friend greasy egg rolls (chicken), and bland friend rangoon (cream cheese & crab?). Would be nice if they offered some sort of Soup - perhaps the common Egg Drop or Hot Sour? I've suggested it, but no response from the store management. If one really wants decent Asian soup, you can just buy your own ingredients at any local store or visit anyone of the other chinese style eateries that are outside of Novi. I hope this Panda Express Novi location does well and is around longer than a year. It's great this location is barely a hop off the I-96 interchange at Novi Rd. I am sure I will be more than occasional Lunch or Dinner patron, as long as you don't expect much - the place serves a purpose. read more

I am updating my review . Since past visits .. food has been quick . I no longer go here right when they open as it seems a super long time for white rice to be readily available ( like 20 min+) , I can't attest if it is still a long wait since I have not returned around 11 in months . 4 stars since the staff is very friendly and efficient . Food is good as expected of the chain and they are fast to refill and cook entrees .Great work stepping up your game Panda! read more

Last few times I've ordered delivery my food has been a huge disappointment. I love panda but apparently you have to be present in restaurant or they have no standard of quality. I know for a fact they wouldn't serve this garbage to my face. I'm baffled by how repeatedly awful my food has been. I was even optimistic that maybe this time it'll be better, maybe I caught them on a slow time. It's consistently poor quality. Hands down the best Panda Express in the area. Great food, great service and great experience. Nothing more to ask for. Now, one thing that I found weird about this place was that the employees here were overly apologetic about not getting my food on time. Three of them came up to me to say sorry and one of them even gave me a soda cup (freebie) to make up for it. Sure, they took about extra 10-12 minutes to get that Beijing Beef ready; that's nothing to fuss about. I would rather wait 15-20 minutes for fresh food than get crap-for-food. I placed an online order at 12:25 PM, and I got a confirmation saying that my order will be ready at 12:40 P. It literally says "skip the line" for online orders plus I paid ahead of time... I get there at 12:45, order is still not ready and the cashier does not acknowledge that I'm even there, helping 4-5 people while I'm standing there. She finally asks if I need something and I say "I have an online order". Her and 2 others asked me if I'm sure I placed an online order. Obviously, yes I'm sure. A different employee finally finds it and says "ok, I'll start making it right now", meanwhile the line that was forming had already almost fizzled out (Remember, online it says "skip the line"), clearly didn't happen...1:00 PM rolls around and I'm just getting my order. What's the point of ordering ahead if I can't pick up my order until 20 minutes after it's supposed to be done? Only giving it 2 stars because the food was good. read more

I love being able to share a customer service experience gone right. Came here for lunch with my son and they put the tiniest portion of beef in his kid's meal. I went up and complained and they cooked a fresh batch and brought it out for him along with a buy one get one free coupon. Really appreciated the effort on this. Worst Panda I've have ever been to. I've lived in many states with military and jobs. This one is so slow. They close down a hour and half to two hours before they close. They are always out of dishes even when not busy. Always have to wait over 25 min for food after ordering. No apologies. No quickness. Horrible auto met service. Horrible management. This restaurant needs improvement. Their customer service process is slow-similar to Taco Bell. One person takes your order and fills it with sides then passes it off to another person standing and waiting to fill with entrée, then pass off again to waiting cashier. Food: chow mien noodles are tasteless on their own, no soy, garlic, oyster sauce, etc. Orange chicken was barely covered with sauce. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was good, but minus walnuts. Do expect a fortune cookie, but do expect to pay extra for shrimp and other some beef entrees. Pei Wei is still a better choice. read more
