We go here often. For the family we usually get the "family deal" and maybe some additional a le carte. Mushroom chicken is our favorite. When in the a le carte portion it's like it's always undercooked. The zuchinni in it is barely cooked, still very hard. Where as when they put it in the heat tray to serve throughout the day i think sitting there slow cooks it. It seems like a le carte gets the leftovers. The orange chicken will be dried up, and tough. Not the light and fluffy interior, nice crunchy exterior. Others like steaks, shrimp etc are same as orange chicken. old and tough. We've been going here for years, and often (2+ times per month). We messaged corporate about it. They kindly gave us x5 $10 gift cards, which we can only used one per order. But it seems like it's getting worse. This was not a problem until about a year ago. At this point, we now go maybe once every six months, HOPING it'll be better, but are quickly reminded why we aren't running back. The chicken egg rolls are also always, old. I used to love them, even though they've been overpriced. But now, won't touch them with a 10 foot pole! They really need to work on throw out times. I'm pretty sure the orange chicken we are getting had been in a heating tray for several hours. It is not even remotely fresh. And chicken, fresh vs even 20 minutes old is a significant change! They also need to reevaluate cooking for a le carte orders. It's different when it's made fresh, vs when it's made for a heating tray where it will steam. This effects veggies significantly. I've ordered from this same location before and zero problems. Tonight I ordered the two plate meal with 1/2 chow mein and 1/2 fried rice. Also added a side order of the 3 cheese ragoons and 2 veggie spring rolls. My main entree was to include Wok Fried Shrimp at an extra $1.80 cost and also orange chicken (no additional cost for two plate meal). There was literally no cheese in one of my ragoons; spring rolls were ok. I did request 20 hot mustard, 6 sweet and sour sauce soy sauce, and one teriyaki. Looks like they don't tell you on the menu max allowed is 5 because I did receive 5 sweet and sour sauce, but only 3 hot mustard, etc. I've taken photos for referral. I was not impressed with their "fried rice" but mostly ticked off that I paid extra for 3 shrimp pieces (on the "wok fried shrimp"; photos included). This place isn't the greatest, but it isn't exactly the worst either (especially considering the price). Just double check your order and only go 5 max on the "supposed free condiments", and you should be okay. Orange chicken was decent btw. Shrimp was good as well. I love the type of food that Panda Express offers. I enjoy the options and the ability to mix and match to create a great meal. The format for Panda includes ordering the type of meal (one item, two item, etc.) at the front of the cafeteria style line and then selecting your choices for entrees with either rice or chow mein or a bit of both. As you walk along the line, they dish up your choices from the food bowls displayed behind glass. At the end, the cashier takes your payment and hands you the food along with a drink cup (if you ordered one) for you to self serve at the drink station. I always take my food as take out so I've not sat down and experienced the restaurant seating atmosphere. I typically order the two item with 1/2 and 1/2 rice and chow mein. I love the mushroom chicken because the chicken is grilled but not too dry. Mushrooms are one of the my favorite veggies and the sauce it not too sweet but not too savory either. I also love the sweet chili type chicken or shrimp. However, this entree is always changing depending on what new offerings they've come up with. I try not to pay the premium cost of the "new" entree, but choose the next closest item from the regular menu. I tend to favor the chow mein over the rice, because it more often is cooked correctly, where the rice can be hit and miss. The Mushroom Chicken has no flavor, I truly think the management in this location skips on sauces as anywhere else the flavor is so much better.The Bejing beef is mushy, and the new try tonight the spicy sweet and sour chicken. on December 31, 2025 I went in to pick an order that I ordered online and there was an Asian lady probably in her 50s or 60s that was really rude to the customers including me and my 18-year-old son saying we had to go through the drive-through to get our orders about 10 minutes later while we were waiting and drive-through a white guy came out and helped us in getting the orders from online. I want to complain about the lady if something isn't done about her this is the second time This has happened to me or I'm gonna stop coming to this location and go out of my way to go to the Clinton one. read more

This is THE WORST Panda I have ever been to. Not only is the food not well prepared, but their service is horrible. I had a horrible day and my daughter wanted chicken and noodles after her flu shot. I did an online order so we could get in and get out fast. I went in to get it and 4 workers saw me and ignored me. This was pretty disappointed for Panda Express I've have eaten here before but tonight felt really disgusting and disgusting first of the food was terrible the orange chicken wasn't cooked all the way and the noodles HAD HAIR. We've lived in Layton for 14 years, and in the past five we've learned that if you don't ask for something that should be included (straws, teriyaki sauce, sweet & sour sauce, etc.) they just WON'T include it. I spoke with a manager about it once a few years ago, and the man I spoke with told me that I was just unlucky. If we eat there three times per year (I think that's about right), and it happens EVERY time, that's not bad luck, that's either terrible service, or a blatant attempt to avoid the cost of these extras that we paid for. The only reason I gave this location Two Stars is for the Noodles & Rice. I have purchased food at this Panda Express, Farmington Station location from time to time over the past 5-6 years. Today I visited and found the food quality to have diminished significantly compared to prior visits in the past. I'm now wondering if perhaps this location has changed management who are seeking to save a few dollars by cutting corners on the food they purchase or in the preparation?? This is my favorite Panda Express location! They are fast and usually friendly, I come here all the time and they have never mixed up my order. The Farmington location always has dry rice and dry chicken, but the Layton location is usually fresh. As long as you're not expecting fancy gourmet Chinese it's delicious! Only thing I don't like is the parking lot, the drive thru is too small and cars will line up behind cars that are dining in which blocks you in when you try to leave. read more
