I still like this location, but I wasn't very pleased when my wife and I had lunch here yesterday (I got dressed in the dark, and so I was in high heels and a skirt). We barely had enough room to enter (the doors are near the counter, and the line was about 3 deep). The man in front of us, though, let us go ahead (his wife was in the restroom). My wife was given a Honey Sesame Chicken sample (she was really trying to order it, but how she phrased things could have been better). We were helped by 3 employees. Our servers worked well together, but it was confusing as to who we were supposed to talk to. We also felt rushed, and I had to repeat myself twice (our cashier was friendly and cute, but a tad dense). The staff impressed me as a whole (for example, the woman cleaning up the restaurant did a great job). Everyone worked hard and was cheerful. Soy Sauce: In the past, you could help yourself, but I received 4 packets, which was more than enough. Some nice songs were playing inside (ex: "Collide" by Howie Day). The restaurant looks more spacious now (the seating capacity is over 50 inside and over 10 outside). Note: All prices include tax. Fountain Drinks: Small: $1.75. Medium: $1.97. Large: $2.19. Bottled Water: $1.97. Juice: $2.08. Premium: $2.30. 2 Entrees & Side: $7.56. 3 Entrees & Side: $9.20. The new containers are nice and compact, but it's obvious that you're given less food now. The prices here have also gone up markedly since 2012. My Mountain Dew and Dr. Pepper were good, but my wife's Mug Root Beer was watered down. My wife found her food to be fine and filling (she had Chow Mein, Honey Sesame Chicken, and Beijing Beef). She gives it an 8/10. The Chow Mein is different now (the noodles are thinner). Fried Rice: 7.75/10. It's pretty good (there are a lot of "green peas, carrots and chopped green onions"), but it was better in the past (adding some soy sauce to mine helped). My rice could have also been hotter. Grilled Teriyaki Chicken: 8/10. I received a nice serving, and there was a generous coating of sauce. The chicken was lean and juicy. Sadly, though, it was lukewarm. Beijing Beef: 8.5/10. It's delicious and somewhat hot (as usual, I was pleased). Shanghai Angus Steak: 8/10. You have to pay $1.37 more. I knew that I was going to be charged extra, but I felt a little ripped off this time. They were thick and tasty, but I only received about 6 pieces. The steak is spicy now (it has to do with the "new zesty Asian steak sauce"). I didn't mind at all, but I was surprised. I hate fakes. Fake people, fake breasts, fake crab meat, fake Nikes, fake designer goods... you name it. I also detest fake ethnic food, which most Chinese food appears to be, unfortunately. I do not care for Panda Express, and i will never eat here on my own accord. The wifey, however, likes Panda Express and appreciates it for what it is (ironically she's Chinese). When I'm feeling extra nice, I will come here and order a take-away meal for her. The staff is always pleasant and all the customers have a clear view of the large refrigerators that keep all the fresh veggies used in their food (clever). The location is always clean and the staff very friendly. I do notice that a bit more food could be given in the to-go boxes, but since I'm not the one eating, it doesn't bother me much. On December 23rd 2018, we got highly mistreated by the restaurant manager "Victor Garcia" at the Hayward Panda Express. We were there around 9:20pm, long before close time, and even then, most of the entre items weren't available. And the behavior of Victor Garcia was so disappointing. Came here late night 12/29 with my sister and the tall Asian lady with the black glasses seem to pick and choose who she gives proper portions to. She gives my sister and I a small amount of rice the amount you would give to a child. As we were sitting down eating a white man comes in and she gives him rice pouring Over his plate, I stare at her and stared at his plate trying to prevent myself from causing a scene and she gives me this guilty look and puts her head down and walk away because she knows exactly why I was looking at her . Absolutely infuriating, second time I come to this location and get the same unpleasant service. I have placed orders over $80 and they have rejected us to receive more than 4 packets of sriracha or teriyaki. Rude attitudes form all except the cooks. This location is absolutely stingy, I will never go to this location again. Not even when I spoke to the manager did she ever apologize, on the contrary she was absolutely disgusting and rude. It's Panda Express, their food isn't what I'd consider real authentic Chinese food. But my 2 best friends are white and they LOVE this place. They only eat Burgers, Panda Express, Pizza and the cycle starts all over again so over the past 10 years I ate at this place knowing what to expect. I usually come here get my half fried noodles web half fried rice. Their fried rice is kind of boring, but it's still a little better than the tasteless noodles. Their Beijing beef is what I like the most out of their selections. Then I try to balance the other entree selection with some veggies beef & broccoli. If I'm acting out, I'd get orange chicken as the second choice. I have mixed feelings about all Panda Express, I like it and hate it at the same time. American version of Chinese Fast Food .... I don't go here very often, but sometimes find myself stopping by when I want some quick chinese food and happen to see this first. This location has plenty of seating and the service has been good the few times I've eaten here. This Panda Express is currently open for take-out only. I ordered online and drove there to pick up the order. The process to pickup was chaotic and very unpleasant. Instead of trying to instill some order in the pick-up and order process at the store, they just let all the customers form an unorganized crowd. There was not enough staff to handle the volume. Considering the vast number of people out of work they could easily hire a couple more people to help. When I got home I found they had left out two entrees that I paid for. I called them and they said I could drive all the way back and get another order. I told them it was too far and to deliver me my missing items, but they said they do not deliver. My daughter woke up in the middle of the night whining and then proceeded to throw up the Panda Express she had a few hours before all over the bed. I had to wash the sheets and give her a bath at 11pm. She threw up a few times after throughout the night. Shortly after, I threw up several times and the smell of Panda Express permeated the bathroom. How do I know it's the Panda Express we ate at this location that caused us to throw up all night? My 1 year old son took one bite and refused to eat any more of the Panda Express--good thing I didn't force him, or else I would've had to take of two throwing up kids. Basically, the only two people in the house that took more than one bite of the food from this location are me and my daughter and we're paying for it big time.
