Heard about this place on IG... So I thought I would give it a try. I was super excited to go in…read moreand try since the review on IG sounded like the food was amazing. The place is like your standard Chinese takeout restaurant, where you have premade dishes, ready to be served with white rice, fried rice, or chow mein noodles. The menu has standard items such as orange chicken, general, chicken, chicken, teriyaki, honey, walnut, shrimp, honey, chicken, mushroom chicken, and so. They also offer egg rolls, cream, cheese, wontons, and soup. What stands out about this place is that they offer a catering menu, unlike some of the other homegrown Chinese takeout places. The restaurant itself is very clean although had a strong smell of Fabuloso and the tables in the floors were a bit sticky. They have one singular bathroom and it was clean. The person who took my order was very nice, friendly, and professional. She was very eager to give me a taste of the entrées in case I wasn't sure what I wanted to eat and I thought that was very cool. I purchased a bowl with half fried rice and half chow mein, and one entrée. For my entrée chose the honey shrimp. my meal came with a fountain drink so that was good. The entrée is $9.99 however, because I got the shrimp, it was a little bit extra. I wish I had gone when the IG people were there doing their reel... Because my food didn't taste anything like how they described it. The honey shrimp was very tasty and the shrimp was cooked perfectly however, every now and then I would get a huge puffy piece. I was not impressed with the fried rice nor the chow mein. I was expecting it to have a wok-seared flavor, like how it was described by the couple doing the reel on IG. For me, it was very plain, in fact, at one point, I thought the chow mein noodles were spaghetti noodles. While the meal satisfied my hunger, since it was dinner time, I likely will not be going back... Sorry, peeps I still have not found good Chinese food in Bakersfield. I hope you have a different experience, and if you do, enjoy!

I like the convenience of mobile ordering via the app or order in store. On this particular occasion, I ordered in store. The restaurant was very clean and everything was fully stocked. The cashier was very friendly and accommodating with modifying my order. I ordered the Hawaiian Bbq Mix. This dish came with fresh, hot white rice, chilled traditional Hawaiian macaroni salad (caution this contains tuna), bbq chicken, bbq beef and kalbi rib. Chicken: bbq to perfection, not dry but nice and moist. I added their signature teriyaki sauce (it's served warm). The chicken is definitely one of my favorites. Beef: beef was tender and flavorful. Beef Kalbi Rib: the best hands down! Rib is tender and very flavorful. I wish the order came with more ribs. The macaroni salad is the best ever. Even though it contains tuna, you cannot taste the tuna. Definitely not "fishy" White rice: freshly cooked and served steaming hot with just the right amount of stickiness. I thought to myself the food has to be good if wait times are that long and ppl are willing to wait. I arrived to pick up my food and paid. I waited another 15 minutes inside the restaurant before my food was ready. While waiting I noticed there was only the cashier and a male working the outside and cooks I assume behind the counter. There were two tables eating and the cashier was the employee who was attending them and cashiering. I noticed food on the floor and a big pile of rice on a another table no one was sitting at. Im sure they get around to clean it but it looked to me as another person or two might help with the long wait times and to help keep the restaurant clean right after customers leave from a table. Just my opinion. Anyways I received my food and went home. I noticed they place your food in a bag and tie it for you at the top which does not give you a chance to inspect if you received everything because the bag is tied up. When I got home I was missing part of my order. Mind you I do not live in Wasco and I was not going to drive back. I called the business and a young lady answered. I told her what happened and she offered me store credit which I did not want. I wanted a refund. She the put the owner on the phone and he also offered me store credit to which I explained I did not want and I was not going to drive back because I live out of town. After our discussion the owner decided to give me a full refund for my food because he could not refund individual items. I was not looking for a full refund and explained to the owner I appreciate him taking care of his customers and standing by his business. The food looked really good! I gave my plate to my kids and ate something else because we were missing an order, but I definitely recommend Blue Sushi! The owner offers indoor seating and to go. The indoor seating seats approximately 25-30 ppl I would say and has large windows to the outside. Great place for lunch or an afternoon dinner with the family.
