Combo: one Chile Relleno and one Enchilada. The chile relleno is stuffed with cheese and egg battered and fried. Enchilada, your choice of shredded beef, or cheese and choice of green or traditional red sauce. I opted for shredded beef and traditional red sauce. This dish came with rice and refried beans. And choice of flour tortillas or homemade corn tortillas. I picked the homemade corn tortillas. Everything was delicious. Enchilada had a decent amount of beef and chile relleno had a generous amount of cheese. The homemade corn tortillas stole the show tho..piping hot and nice and fluffy. I highly recommend these. Overall 8/10 2. Bistec Ranchero with rice and beans. Generous amount of steak with grilled onions, peppers in a tomato sauce. Dad opted for standard flour tortillas. He said his steak was tender and would order again. 9/10 3. Horchata, standard horchata nothing really stood out. 5/10 Upon being seated, chips and salsa are brought out and served. Salsa had good flavor but definitely lacked heat. Would be nice if they offered a spicy option. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. This place has a full bar and TV's throughout the restaurant..so the ambiance is very laidback. Restaurant was very clean. But let's talk about the parking situation...horrible parking lot. Lack of parking and definitely not enough street parking.

When you first step inside I wasn't sure if you just take a seat or you get seated. The waitress at the cashier told us we can take a seat so we took our seat. And we were greeted with a welcome and with some chips and salsa the chips could be a little better taste kinda stale. As they took our order and I ordered it was about 10-15 maybe wait time for our food. They had messed up I asked for the salsa on the side and it didn't come with my torta and my friend order red sauce enchiladas they give him green. He said he didn't mind but once the waitress noticed she asked if he wanted another one and he said he was fine. Overall my first experience could've a bit better but I'll come back again.

If you are craving tender and flavorful birria, then Tacos Humildes is your stop…read more This location lacks parking, however, next block over there's a city lot with plenty of free parking. This is a no frills type place but it's clean and organized. On this particular day I ordered the following: 1. Birria Pizza (roughly $21 or so) it includes 12oz of consume. Two oversized flour tortilla stuffed with tender, beef birria and cheese) then grilled like a quesadilla. Topped with (which I got on the side) diced white onions, chopped cilantro, pickled red onions and drizzled with a vibrant "green sauce" which was creamy (an emulsified salsa verde taquera) and a fiery red sauce which was significantly spicer than the green and limes on the side. And the consume to dip your pizza birria in. The consume is served piping hot and is so flavorful. This is the broth in which the birria was cooked in. This is my favorite thing to order at Tacos Humildes. 2. Mexican Rice (roughly $4.50). Rice was pretty standard, nothing memorable. But I definitely felt the price-point was off. I received about 9 oz of rice. A bit overpriced for an inexpensive food item. Rice is a few cents on the dollar and really inexpensive to prepare, so almost $5.00 is ridiculous. The restaurant has plenty of indoor seating and AC works great. The cashier, Diana was also prepared the food. She was super friendly and really engaging. I do recommend this local small business for their Pizza Birria. Additionally, Diana informed me that on the weekends, Taco Humildes sets up their taco truck in McFarland.

There was some road construction out front and assumed the place would be empty, but I WAS WRONG! I was greeted immediately by a kind gentleman who worked with me in ordering exactly what I wanted. I couldn't decide between a tostada de ceviche de camarón or a tostada de jaiba (imitation crab meat) so I asked if I could have a bit of both. He agreed. I payed and waited probably less than 10 minutes for my order. They even set my tostadas on the side so they wouldn't get soggy! I did dock a star because once I made it back to the office, I opened my plate and it was a large portion of food, but the jaiba was not marinated in lime nor seasoned at all... Just dry. The camarón ceviche beneath it was perfect. I did try my best to mix it up best I could. It wasn't bad, the food was flavorful, I'm sure had I made a choice of one or the other there probably wouldn't have been any issues. Also, I was pleasantly surprised at the extra limes, salt and Valentina packets that came with it. They thought of everything: fork, plate, napkins. Loved that. The menu looks super appetizing and I will definitely be back to try more off the menu.

Stopped by the carniceria today to pick up some meat for carne asada tacos. Their meat is always fresh with a variety of cuts available. They also have fish, shrimp, pork, a variety of ribs, marinated chicken, and freshly made carnitas. Their salsas are really good too. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that on Sundays they sell birria de res and birria de chivo. I decided to pass on cooking and get both of the birrias instead. I'm not kidding when I say that they were both so delicious. Tender and seasoned to perfection. My favorite was the chivo! It was the best I've had outside of Mexico. I'm so glad that we can now buy it here in town. Well done Janitzio!
