If you don't like spicy, definitely ask for salsa on the side so you can control the heat factor. This location is right off the 99, and we particularly appreciated the outdoor eating areas since we were traveling with our dog. It has a patio with table umbrellas right off the building and also two tree-shaded picnic tables along a grassy area next to the parking lot that was was perfect on an 80-degree March day. It does seem a little pricey at first, but then we realized that the combos include a drink. Perfect stop if you are traveling north. We stopped here on our way to Yosemite. I'm sure glad we did. I love authentic Mexican food. It's near and dear to my heart. We absolutely loved the food. Great quality and fresh. The establishment is also very clean and has a good atmosphere. Not fancy. It's a quick eat kind of place. I had a beef sope and 1 was a good portion for me. This crispy maize boat was overflowing with juicy beef chunks. It was dripping all over my plate and had to finish with a fork. Very generous helping of meat. I got food here several times this summer while going up and down 99. I must say I'm so glad I stopped here, it has never disappointed. The bowls are great, asada is perfect. I was pleasantly surprised by the clean and inviting environment and delicious food! The chicken in the burritos tasted fresh and was generously portioned. I ate at a Taco Loco food truck in the 80's and have been driving by this location for years, which is right across from the Flying J truck stop. The location originally built as a fast food national franchise. Ordered a torta pastor sandwich, tasty pork, fresh slices of onion, tomato and avocado. The Jamaica was good and not too sweet. I've driven past this place a couple times on my way to Delano for work and I finally decided to stop by as work had me going to Delano again today for a job. I opted to go for the chorizo burrito, it just sounded good today and boy did I choose right. The chorizo itself was delicious, just packed full of flavor. There was plenty of rice, beans and cilantro in the burrito as well. The red salsa was really tasty and the perfect addition to the burrito. If I had one criticism it would be that it needs more meat or the meat needs to be more evenly dispersed. The top quarter of the burrito was packed with chorizo but as I ate down further there was less and less until I found next to none near the bottom. Overall a good experience though and I'll definitely stop by again sometime. read more

Went here late at night with my boyfriend and his brother and we all got a burrito. The consensus was that they were good, not spectacular. The prices though almost $45 for three burritos is outrageous and the management is price gouging it's customers! Just because it's a 24/7 location and tucked away amid a rest area on the side of a long highway doesn't mean you should charge so much for food. That's awful. Another thing that we noticed is that one of the burritos was much larger than the others. It had a couple extra ingredients more than the others, like salsa and sour cream but those ingredients don't add up to half of a burrito extra. This is a very slick looking restaurant that looks like it's part of a much bigger chain, but they only have three locations in the Bakersfield area. The restaurant itself is large, with a drive thru and good pop music playing inside. I found the prices to be quite high for their meal combos. I got a bean and cheese burrito, which was whole pinto beans, not refried. The burrito itself was just okay. A decent size, but a bland taste. The Diet Coke from the fountain was VERY good. My bf has been here before and would eat here everytime he's working in Bakersfield and he talked about how great this place was so today was a great time since we're headed to LA. It's a pretty big size place plenty of seating got there around 9am hardly anyone there. He ordered #1 which comes with 3 tacos, rice, beans and a drink. I got the combo #2 1 taco and one burrito. We waited alittle over 6mins for our food. I loved how my bf combo plate looked the way his tacos were put together was nice compared to my taco where it lacked salsa. They also made a mistake with out orders. My bf asked for 2 Asada and 1 al pastor however they gave him all al pastor. The al pastor meat was very flavorful it was very good. My carne asada meat however was on the hard side and it was a bit dry and I didn't really enjoy it as much as i hoped. And my bf agree it was pretty bad and not their typical good food. So I figured maybe it's just a bad batch. They also charge a .75 fee for any type of card payment. They have a self serve fountain drunk area. For salsa you would have to ask and they give a generous amount. Overal the customer service was good the food was eh. I was charged $16 for the burrito 3.50 for the meat with no tortilla and $1 for each Serrano which they gave me 3 only for 3 dollars. usually I pay .75 cents for extra serranos and they give me like 5 but now $1 for each??? never going here again. I was very impressed with this little gem. The restaurant is clean and they follow health guidelines very well. The bathrooms were clean as well. My veggie burrito was delicious and did not disappoint and they have amazing salsa verde! It isn't too spicy but has just enough kick.
