I love love love this Mexican restaurant every time I come the staff is friendly and food is amazing. My go to is their wet burritos, they are massive with rice, beans, onions, cilantro and choice of protein. Since I'm pescatarian I requested to add shrimp, (this is not on the menu) but they were happy to accommodate my special request. You can definitely share this burrito with someone, since it's so big. The red sauce is my favorite it has a smoky chile taste, more flavor less spice. I also recommend their camarones a la diabla. What happened here? New menus, no prices?! That's inconvenient. Went for lunch because I remember this being a gem. The salsa that came out to our table tasted funny, smelled it and it was almost rancid. At lunch? Hope they weren't serving that throughout the day. Asked for another spicier salsa for our chips and it came out without salt! I wasn't very hopeful for the meal after that. Enchiladas were mediocre, huarache had that same bland salsa..... Read about their shrimp tacos Tijuana style and I had to come. It's not on the menu but an option if your looking for something different. They're pretty simple, crispy sauteed shrimp topped with shredded cabbage, lemon and a chipotle cream or crema, they are fantastic! I have not tried much else other than their beans and rice which were good. I'd highly recommend and will try other dishes. The restaurant is quiet, lots of seating available and the waitresses are quick and kind. Good spot for a meeting as well. read more

Loved this restaurant! I had the huarache pollo and it was great! The chicken tasted like it was marinated or spiced--very flavorful. It had nice char marks adding to the flavor but still moist. Green salsa, cojita cheese, crema, crunchy lettuce, and ripe tomatoes on top and grilled onions all added to the variety of flavors and deliciousness. The creamy beans spread on huarache were just a small layer, so it did not overwhelm but added to the layers of flavor. The masa huarache was firm to hold all the ingredients and a bit fluffy for perfect texture. To top it all off the staff was nice, patient, and helpful! We had the Queso Birria with this thick pieces of meat... we had the carne asada wet burrito with the mild green sauce, camarones de mojo de ajo and fried fish tacos. Well, this restaurant has absolutely awesome homemade Mexican food here in Central California, located in downtown Delano. Glad we tried it. My friends husband had, Camamores Diablo rice & beans combo, my friend had flautas Pollo combo and lil grand daughter, bean, cheese & rice burrito. And I had 3 cheese Enchiladas combo and one flauata Pollo. I usually do not eat Mexican rice, however both rice & beans were delicious. Home made beans not refried but creamy good. Definitely not over seasoned. And the rice fluffy hint if tomato sauce. The Red Enchiladas had a nice rich sauce, 3 rolled Monterey Jack cheese stuffed tortillas covered with the rich sauce and more cheese. Along with a side order of freshly made diced avocado, tomatoes, red onion, lil cilantro, guacamole. Ohh and one Horchata for my friends husband. He ate all his dinner. I at all my dinner. Not one grain of rice or beans and I ate all my dinner as well. Oh and a Tamarindo bottled soda. Very impressed. Noticed that many locals enjoying their dinner. We just tried this place for the first time and there will definitely be repeat visits. El Huarache Loco is located on Delano's Main Street. The restaurant is small and unassuming and can probably seat about 35-40 people, but they are definitely BIG on genuine authentic flavor. It's also clean and well maintained, and they provide fast, friendly service. We tried the carne asada/al pastor huarache, the carne asada mulita, the torta, and the cheese enchilada dinner. That's a lot of food, but we wanted to sample several of their dishes since the establishment is fairly new. Wow, they did not disappoint! I loved the mulita, it was loaded with flavor as were all of the other items we ordered. Really super delicious authentic Mexican food. There are also a variety of salsas from mild to spicy. Took a drive to try something new. Nice little spot in the middle of town. Smiling face to greet us, and later some live music. Tried the regular and green salsa. (The green comes out warm). Both were very good my favorite was the green surprisingly, since it was the hotter of the two. Hubby had the Carnitas, tender pork with crispy edges, just as it should be. I had the mixed fajitas. Very good. Cooked very well with chicken steak and shrimp. The house made corn tortillas are Delicious, nice light texture and flavor. Flour tortillas were also plenty warm and tasty. No Margaritas , but I had an icy Dos Equis to soothe my pain . Come check them out if you are in town. Bring cash for your tip, as they weren't able to add one with your card. It's April the 2nd and it was really hot outside. My car didn't have AC so I decided to go here to get a tall coke in a bottle. I was going to pay for it but I was 10 cents short and I couldn't add anymore money to my credit card cause I got to my limit to add money so I decided to not buy but one of the workers said they'll pay the 10 cents for my coke but then the cashier lady said she'll pay for my tall glass coke. It's a good price for 2.36 for a really tall coke. The workers are nice and helpful. For the food wise I was also eat here. I ate here before and never been disappointed. If your hungry and want Mexican food, I would come here for sure. They make good food and good drinks for a good price. read more

This unassuming little restaurant on Main Street was some of the best Mexican I've had. I went for the ceviche and some incredible tacos and my friend went for this extravaganza of seafood and meat and cheese in a pineapple boat. Soda is awful. Tacos are a great value ranging from $1.35 - $1.75 Service started out ok. A little slow with food but when I ordered I asked for a side of guacamole. After going to the counter and being ignored which seemed like forever because she was getting an order ready it is only common courtesy to acknowledge someone but nothing. Another person came up and she tended to her first after I had been waiting. Now my fries are cold Just rude. Got the guacamole that was watery like salsa verde. Unacceptable. But was on point when I came to the counter to pay the check. The young lady working needs to learn customer service 101. The way you treat people will determine if you can pay your bills or not. You know this place is good when it's always busy. We ordered 17 carne asada tacos to go, but still got a lit of meat, fixings, chips and salsa, and a cup full of Chile Verde sauce.
