My favorite Hawaiian bbq restaurant. This particular location is in Delano near Walmart. Parking near the restaurant is definitely a challenge due to lack of close parking. I like the convenience of mobile ordering via the app or order in store. On this particular occasion, I ordered in store. The restaurant was very clean and everything was fully stocked. The cashier was very friendly and accommodating with modifying my order. I ordered the Hawaiian Bbq Mix. This dish came with fresh, hot white rice, chilled traditional Hawaiian macaroni salad (caution this contains tuna), bbq chicken, bbq beef and kalbi rib. Chicken: bbq to perfection, not dry but nice and moist. I added their signature teriyaki sauce (it's served warm). The chicken is definitely one of my favorites. Beef: beef was tender and flavorful. Beef Kalbi Rib: the best hands down! Rib is tender and very flavorful. I wish the order came with more ribs. The macaroni salad is the best ever. Even though it contains tuna, you cannot taste the tuna. Definitely not "fishy" White rice: freshly cooked and served steaming hot with just the right amount of stickiness. First time trying Hawaiian Ono & I am now a huge fan! Ordered the combo of plate with chicken katsu, Hawaiian Chicken BBQ, and Hawaiian BBQ beef with white rice and macaroni salad as the sides. The chicken Katsu was extremely crispy and the Hawaiian BBQ chicken tasted delicious! The rice was perfectly fluffy and cooked well. Now onto the piece de resistance...the macaroni salad. Other than my homemade macaroni salad, I have never tried a macaroni salad like Hawaiian Ono BBQ's. Savory and perfectly made just like a Hawaiian macaroni salad! Thank you for the great lunch. We did have some minor issues with the soda fountains as some soda fountain and tea fountains were not properly working yet we alerted the staff of the issue. The drink options were limited. I have not eaten here yet, but I have ordered here several times for my mom. My mom lives way on the other side of town near the old Kmart and doesn't drive, so my husband and I will order from here from time to time and have food delivered to her. Her favorite item on the menu has to be the BBQ beef. She wasnt a big fan of the teriyaki chicken, but she loved the chicken katsu. Each time we have ordered food, I gave my mom the estimated time it would reach her house based on the web and she has always said they have always come in time. Her food was always delivered warm and her Hawaiian soda was always cold. She also said that her bag was always tied and the delivery person made sure to wear a mask when they delivered her food. The restaurant is fairly new and just opened up November last year. My family has told me this place keeps busy, so if you're in the area and you get food here then order ahead of time so you don't have to wait long. Parking is a mess and is super crowded in the area since there's a lot of other restaurants and businesses nearby. I have not been inside physically, but when I've gone to Walmart or Starbucks the place looks super busy. read more

I got there around 11:30 and placed my order. The Aloha Special with Whitefish was on special discount so I decided to give it a try. Pretty decent but the breaded fish itself lacked flavor without the benefit of me dipping it in the Katsu sauce but the Salad was very good and the rice perfectly cooked. So excited Delano has added new food to town! I was a constant customer at the ones in Bakersfield when I wasn't working from home. I came in around dinner time, and there was about 10 people ahead of me, and they also had tons of phone orders coming in. I thought for sure I was going to be waiting for awhile. I was pleasantly surprised my food was ready within 15 min. The customer service was great. When to many people were inside the building a worker moved the line outside to follow COVID guidelines. The only thing I noticed was the pick up order line was confusing. Some people were able to pick up their orders by simply walking up to the window and some were sent to wait in line. The food was great. Sometimes it's a hit and miss when new places open up, but I have no complaints as far as food goes. If you don't want to wait in line call in your order ahead of time. read more

Pretty good overall. I got a combo plate with the Hawaiian chicken + shrimp, around $14 with tax. Chicken was awesome, comes with white rice and a scoop of macaroni salad. Portion of macaroni could be a bit bigger, but still a nice addition to the plate. I didn't really enjoy the shrimp too much but it wasn't bad. Next time I'd order just the chicken personally. Since finding this place, I try to come here when I'm making trips on the 99. Staff here is always nice, the restaurant and bathrooms are clean, but most of all the quality of the food is always on point! I talked to one of the cooks Jose Garcia and told him I was impressed a lot of places struggle with Katsu Chicken often it's over or under cooked, but I've noticed here it's consistently cooked good. I'm stingy about giving 5 stars, but between cleanliness, food quality and portions, and service. I felt 4 stars would be short changing the people working here. read more

The food here was great. This was my first time visiting this location. I was excited to hear that they had opened a location in Delano. I usually go to the one in Mission hills in LA but it's too far lol. I think the food is very comparable to L&L Hawaiian and Q&Q Hawaiian BBQ. Food came out pretty quick (5 minutes) upon ordering. Blessing in disguise to have a Ono Hawaiian BBQ open up in Delano. Customer service has always been great, employees are friendly, upbeat, and seem to love their job. Food is always made to order and there is a great selection to choose from that breaks the monotony of typical fast food (hamburger, tacos, or fried chicken). We are regulars at the Bakersfield location. After visiting the Delano location, we will never return. The serving sizes are ridiculous for a $15 plate. In Bakersfield the portions are plenty. I placed my order on DoorDash as a pickup order, and the app said it will be ready in 45min. When the app notified me that my food was ready, I drove over there and went inside. In comparison to the one in Bakersfield on Mount Vernon, I felt more welcome over there than compared to the one here in Delano. I seen that there was a sign that said "Prepaid Orders Pick Up Here," so I went over there waiting for about 5-7 minutes, and no body wanted to serve me. So then, I went to the regular line, they finally served me when I said I'm here to pick up an order. I felt like a dumb person standing and looking at them, when I was waiting for 5-7 minutes. What's the point of having DoorDash on Grand Opening day, if they're not prepared. Took up most of the time, and I had to rush in eating my food because I had to leave to work in literally 30 minutes, whereas if there was no trouble in picking up the order, then I would have had an hour left for enjoying my food and relaxing. However, since it was Grand Opening day, I'll be lenient with giving a 2-Star Rating instead of 1. The customer service however is very, very poor. Both times I have been there my order has been either incorrect or I didn't get all that I ordered and paid for. I would not want to deter anyone from enjoying this food, just be sure to really pay attention and make sure that they input your order correctly and check it when you get receive your food. read more
