Had an early lunch here and ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen ($17.25): Thick noodle (I substituted; standard is thin noodles) Ingredients: spicy miso, corn, bamboo, green onion, egg 2x (I ordered an extra egg), chashu pork, seaweed, in a reddish-orange spicy miso broth. The soup wasn't as hot as I wanted, I like my soups pipping hot, my soup wasn't warm. The pork was very flavorful and tasted like it had been marinated. I would definitely order this again. Noodles were not mushy, cooked properly. The soft-boiled eggs are my absolute favorite, which is why I always order two eggs when eating ramen. I was served a complimentary cucumber salad was delicious and chilled. The restaurant was clean and my waitress was friendly. This location is in a strip mall so plenty of free parking. I would eat here again since it's conveniently located near me. The ramen isn't authentic but if you're looking for something quick and don't want to travel, this place is a decent option. read more

Ordered a dine in lunch about 12:30 on a Monday. Vegetable ramen soup - good noodles, tasty vegetable broth and vegetables cooked soft but not mushy. Temperature was hot but not scalding hot, you had to hold the spoon for 5 seconds to cool it off a bit at first. Low on spice and salt, it benefited from a dash of soy sauce. I thought the presentation was very authentic, although I have not been to Japan. The manager, an actual Japanese native, was seated me, took my order and served me. A server came on duty while i was eating. The have a menu outside on a stand, a nice touch. Definitely will put Tengu Ramen in the Delano rotation and will try other dishes. read more

This is what this town needed, a ramen restaurant! So far, I've dined in twice & ordered to go twice. Experience was great! The staff is very friendly, it's well decorated on the inside, and restrooms are clean. What I've ordered so far: Shoyu ramen - This was good, but I think I'm more of an udon girly lol. Broth was very flavorful! Chicken ramen - Nothing too crazy with this one. Just your basic chicken ramen, I would rather choose a different protein. Beef udon - 10/10 This is my favorite! So flavorful and I love adding an egg to itl. Curry beef udon - This tastes exactly what you imagine curry to taste like. This review is just for their online ordering and pick up experience. I've been wanting to try this place out since they opened. Ordering online was a breeze. Their website was easy to go through, gotta appreciate the photo aesthetics and minimal food information, and the easy check out. I put in my order to pick up ASAP (with a disclaimer to show that it usually takes up to 25 mins after placing order). I feel that's ample time. I arrived about 10 mins before I was scheduled to pick up. The vibes and ambiance of the place was so unique. Almost doesn't feel like you're in Delano (LOL) but makes me want to come back for sure to dine in because the vibes were there! Hostess was able to get my order on the counter and she was so friendly! Definitely got me wanting to come back for sure. I ordered the chicken ramen and dumplings. Broth was flavorful and they gave a great amount of protein for the dish. Most ramen places give just HALF a soft boiled egg. Here they have a whole egg in half (major +!!!!!). The to go ramen soup came in a container where the toppings + noodles were separated from the broth soup, just how it's supposed to be! Noodles were aldenté and everything stayed at perfect temp (not cold at all). Overall, "to go" experience was great and the food was delicious. I can't wait to come back and dine in with my family! Entered a little after 11:00, server was no where to be seen. We seated ourselves as did another party, because again SERVER WAS NOT THERE. (Also my husband comes here very often to eat for lunch, this is not a fancy or upscale restaurant by any means and often times you sit were there is an available table and a server will get you when they can) As we sat down the server had an attitude and she very rudely and abruptly said something along the lines of oh you guys just sat down. You're supposed to wait we aren't open yet...... which they clearly were since their doors were open and a party also sat themselves as well. This server should not have a job in costumer service. Her boss will be extremely happy to know that not only because of poor staff service and an unwelcoming restaurant environment they lost a group of costumers for today but also lost a very frequent costumer as well. read more

A new gem of a restaurant in Delano. Even though the sign said "soft opening" they seemed to really have their stuff together. Service was fast and friendly and the Spicy Miso Ramen was fantastic. Rich broth with medium spice and the noodles were cooked to perfection. Neither too firm or too soft. I will definitely be eating here again. read more

Tengu Ramen is a good addition to the local dining scene. It's always nice to have options, and this place doesn't disappoint. We ordered the pork katsu, spicy miso ramen, pork fried rice, and a glass of plum wine. The dishes were all prepared with fresh ingredients and served hot. It was all very good. The plum wine was light, smooth, and very sweet. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but there is ample seating, along with counter seating as well. The ambience is modern and clean. This restaurant is located in the Delano. Fairly new, nice, clean, and inviting place. Me and my co-workers went there for lunch. The setup was almost the same as the other location in Bakersfield. we got seated right away. The server was so patient with us. Within a short period, the food came one after another. All the food were pretty good. Except for hot green tea, and Thai iced tea. I can't complain much about Thai ice tea, because it was $.99. For green tea, I was expecting Japanese green tea but she gave me regular Chinese green tea. Maybe I didn't make myself clear to her about the order. This place has little Tokyo vibes inside. The ramen solid and very much of the Hakata style. I got the Tengu Tonkotsu and it's the most solid ramen I've had in quite a bit- it's very reminiscent of Shin-Sen-Gumi ramen in LA, but the broth is a touch lighter in taste (which is good in its own regard). Good firmness on the noodles and the broth is light, but fatty enough to emphasize the tonkotsu flavor. The toppings are simple, but solid - green onions, pickled radish, mushroom. Char-Sui was lightly seasoned and didn't overpower any parts of the ramen. Everything about the bowl really complemented each other. Also, the service was really quick - I came on a Friday night and got my food within 15 minutes of ordering. I'm glad I made the pit stop on my drive down to Orange County. There's only one waitress/hostess for the dinner rush, and it's a wait! I waited to be seated because you can't seat yourself, for her to finish her rounds before seating me. Then after she sat me I had to wait 10 minutes for a drink order and appetizer order she's asks "if I'm ready to order" I begin and she replies with hold on one second and makes me wait another 5 mins. Overall it wasn't the best experience, and I kind of felt sorry for the girl working the place all alone. Needless to say I probably won't go back for a while. Was highly excited to try this new ramen restaurant in Delano. This is the first of it's kind in town and we could not wait to try it! My husband and I LOVE ramen and have a favorite place In Bakersfield so we compare all ramen to that one. The restaurant itself is clean and has authentic decor. It's trendy, fun and well lit. The wait staff was welcoming and tended to us immediately. The seating is limited and tables are almost too close together. There is also seating at the sushi bar. They serve saki and Japanese beer along with other specialty non-alcoholic beverages. The ramen is delicious and I would recommend this place. My husband had the spicy miso ramen and I had the vegetable ramen. My husband's only complaint was that it was not hot enough, the spice level was good but the heat off the stove wasn't to his liking. He enjoys his soups steamy and boiling. The vegetable ramen was a tad on the bland side however, once I added more chili oil and a touch of seasoning, I was smiling from ear-to-ear. With a little more trial and error I can see this place being one of the best in Kern County. Support your local ramen spot, you won't be disappointed! read more

My family and I went to have some delicious ramen on this cold weather. Our ramen was really good, unfortunately not the customer service which ruined my willingness to go back! There was to waitresses one was really nice and smiley, I believe she was hispanic. I didn't get their name they had no name tag, but the rude one i can only describe her as redhead possibly caucasian. She brought our food out and she delivered our food like she was pissed off and looked annoyed maybe as if she didn't like her job. Me and my family just looked at each other like ok , she must be having a bad day. We had ordered appetizers so by the time we got our ramen I ate very little since I was full already. Once my family got done eating i asked the nice waitress if i could take my ramen to go, she brought me a cup and left. I was having trouble pouring the soup into the cup due to big round plate and small cup and did not want to make a mess trying to pour it in. Every other ramen place , when i ask to take my ramen to go they take my plate of soup and bring it back in the to-go container. So i grabbed the plate and the check to go ask if they can please pour it for me in the kitchen because i did not want to make a mess. She gave me this crazy looked and i asked nicely! She said we don't do that here we don't have time for that! I then told her every other place they do it in the kitchen, she then grabbed my plate pour it herself then and there ( front counter) with her dirty hands and said there you go! Oh and she made a mess too! She dropped some, which is exactly what I didn't want to do.
