This is a my go-to place if I don't feel like cooking or if I'm out running errands and need a quick bite to eat. I've been to this location multiple times and sometimes I dread coming here. Damn, why isn't there a Pei Wei franchise in Seattle yet?!?! When dining in, the tables are always sticky! One time I ordered food here and there was a giant long hair in it. The absent minded girl asked if I wanted a replacement (of course!), and she went to go get a refill from the same pan she just served me from when I had to give her a "duh!" reminder that she should probably remake it rather than re-serve it. The portions tend to be under handed and they never have enough of the popular featured items on hand in slow or busy moments. Although, one time I looked at the sad tray and asked them to remake it and they obliged. I think their best value is the entree bowls for around $6. You get a scoop of rice or lo mein and 1 feature dish. There are other Panda locations that seem to have better service, but no matter which one I go to I always wish I were at Pei Wei instead!!! read more

Pulled into the drive through at 9:01pm. We made our order at this speaker and pulled up to pay. At the drive up window they informed us that they were finished making chow mein for the evening and they are closing at 9:30pm even though the website says they close at 10pm. Even if they are closing early at 9:30pm, it leaves 30 more minutes of drive-through and walk-in orders. Do they not think that anyone is going to want chow mein; their main staple side dish? This is par for the course at this Covington Panda Express. So many employees here seem to try and close up shop early and stop cooking. read more

According to panda express rules; food is fresh, made very quickly, and friendly people. You want to definitely eat there when jose,patty,nard and manager jorge are cooking. No matter who cooks its good; but they are so quick and food even fresher when they are the ones doing it. Manager (Jorge), super kind and welcoming. He has a friendly crew who has fun while they work. There are a few people (1 or 2) who could use a little customer service training and a smile.but overall friendly. If you go there often they call you by your name and treat you like family. Saw a mom and her son who go in once a week and are always treated with smile. Best panda express around. DO NOT come to this location. They had me waiting in the parking lot for 25 minutes and my order was SUPER SIMPLE, I already paid too and I realized how long they were taking and I go in and the first thing one of the rude ass employees said is that they're closed with such attitude. Like no shit. And so I ask for my food and turns out they didn't even make it. So I ended up just doing a return. Don't ever come here it's a waste of your money and time. read more

I think other reviews expect too much from Panda Express. With the price range, the portion size and in compare to the price of all other dining / food area around Covington, Panda is very cheap and its service is excellent in compare to the price. I have been to many Panda Express and the staff here actually endures the customers' attitude very well. I am nice to them, and they smile at me. of course I saw other customers yelling and made the face and the employees frowned. It is super hot where they work - all of the heating lights to keep the food warm - so I guess the heat can make them forget something sometimes. The food is good, consistent and you can always request fresh wok. Portion size is very plenty for take out - but dine-in seems smaller and less. If you can't take spicy food stay away from the kung pao chicken - lately it is burning hot. I like all of their premium items: walnut shrimp, shanghai angus beef. bacon orange chicken is very good. Eggroll and springroll is a bit oily though. I don't eat their fried rice but brown rice and chow mien is good. Steady business even with all the 1-star reviews - I think they are not that bad. Not sure why this place has so many negative reviews... I guess people are more apt to leave a bad review when they're upset, but not a good review when they're happy. (Case-in-point, I've been here over a dozen times, always had a great experience, but never reviewed, although to be fair, I tend to review family run places more than chains.) In any case, this is honestly the BEST panda I've ever stepped foot in (which is nine and counting for me). It's spacious, nicely decorated, the granite top tables make it feel a lot fancier than most panda express restaurants. Not to mention it's clean--I haven't ever come across a dirty table, which is saying something for an inexpensive chain restaurant these days. I also have to mention the great convenience of having soy sauce and chopsticks freely available by the drinks, instead of hidden behind the register like they are at other pandas. The food has always been fresh. Never once have I run into dry rice or hard orange chicken (my usual order is a panda bowl containing these two things). The employees are very good about keeping all items stocked so that you have your pick of sides and entrees. The service has always been good. I come around lunch, a peak time, and this place has a drive through, but I've never been ignored, and we've never had to wait more than five minutes (and in that case, the person ahead of us was taking his time giving a very confusing five meal order to the single employee who was running the line). Although the employees aren't necessarily the perkiest, they're courteous, they listen to you, and they get their job done well. read more

Whatever you do, DON'T order the entrees in boxes. The small literally had 3 pieces of chicken and one was so small it barely registered as a piece. The medium sizes weren't much bigger. You know how usually when you order Chinese from a restaurant the boxes are pack to overfilling? These were packed by people who pack the Lays potato chip bags. I swear it was mostly air. So we just spent a crapload or money for a light snack. For food that, at best, is just ok Chinese food, they should give much bigger portions. The bitch at the drive through window was horrible to me and my friend. She was hella rude and disrespectful!

First and foremost they're completely incompetent. Learn how to communicate with your co-workers. Let me start by saying that most of Panda Express' food, I cannot have because I'm not allowed to have certain spices. Knowing this, I ONLY order teriyaki and rice. So, it's about 9:50pm (they close at 10, so I get that I was the jerk - kind of) and I asked if they had enough to make a bigger plate of orange chicken and chow mein, they said yes but would have to make more orange chicken which I said was fine. I also ordered a teriyaki and rice bowl which they assured me they had. I pull up to the window and I'm told that the fried rice isn't done and it'll be 3 minutes which also, is totally fine. 10 minutes later - magically, they're out of rice and teriyaki. So I don't insist they make a new batch, I instead ask about the bigger plate - I'm then told that they have teriyaki but they turned the heater off so I'll have to wait 25 minutes for it to reheat. Fed up, I ask for a refund on just the bowl as they already have the bigger plate ready. The cashier (who was VERY nice and apologetic) gave myself and my sister a free large coke and extra orange chicken for our trouble. This is where I lost my patience: After stating that I could ONLY have what I ordered I insisted that they refund me as there's nothing else I can eat off the menu. I'm interrupted mid-sentence and offered 5 different samples for free, I decline and restate what I HAD JUST SAID. mind the fact that I was irritated, but never rude to anyone at the drive thru. The manager comes over and says that they'll give me a free bigger plate - insisting that I take her offer - at that point, I demanded my money be refunded for the bowl because after sitting here for 25-30 minutes, the rest of my order is cold. The manager sighed and rolled her eyes at me forcibly throwing her hand out the window saying "receipt". This is AWFUL customer service. And that manager should be demoted immediately. UPDATE: got home and my husband opened the bigger plate to find that 1) everything was cold, 2) the orange chicken portions were that of a small plate and the chow mien smelled beyond awful. I wish I would've asked for a refund for my whole damn meal, such a waste of time AND money. read more

This panda had pretty good food as expected from Panda Express. Unfortunately, it took me 25mins to get my food via the drive through. Which happens when places are really busy, but there were only two other cars in line. I will probably avoid this location and go into the Safeway across the street to get this type of food if I am in a hurry. read more

I eat a lot of Panda Express and go to a lot of locations, but this one by my house in Covington is by FAR the best one. I have never met an employee that wasn't super friendly, helpful, happy, energetic. They greet and welcome you with open arms right when you walk in. I am very very picky with my food, I like it fresh and that's just how I always get it. They never, ever hesitate to do it for me and are always happy to do so. There are times that I just walk in, will be standing in line, then when I get to the front the manager Jorge says yep we already got your food down for you, coming up fresh in 2min. Now that is customer service, and that is a great manager and leader. A lot of times bigger corporations can lose sight of how important and how valuable one single person can be, I hope they appreciate Jorge and the work he does everyday to make the customers happy and that location a very successful one. What prompted me to write this review was what happened tonight, I'm actually sitting in the drive-thru waiting right now for it to come out! I thought they closed at 10:30 but it's 10pm on Sunday. I pulled into the drive-thru at 9:59 pm. Jorge was the one taking my order, he said because it's only a couple minutes until closing they shut the kitchen down and started cleaning, BUT that he would of course still accommodate me, although it would take 10-15min to heat things back up and make it fresh. He never once said no he couldn't do that, never once sounded angry or frustrated, just happy to serve me and pretty much stay 15min longer after a long day just for me, which I did feel bad about. I'm in customer service and management as well so I know what it takes to run a successful business and locations, and I tell you what, Jorge and his team truly are the pinnacle and standard of which all Panda Express locations should be held to. I hope they appreciate everything he does and his commitment to the company, because I know I sure do! Went in on Sunday December 3, 2017 around 1230. There was 2 people workin. 1 was on the line 1 was cooking. These 2 people were kicking butt. The girl working the line had a smile on her face the whole time. All the pans were full cause the guy was cooking like a mad man. First impressions count! This one didn't make the cut. When I entered this place there was no welcome greet and I had to wait 5+ mins for someone to take my order and there was no one in front of me or in line. I've been here twice, my only two visits to a Panda Express, and both were really good. The food was ready, seemed fresh, and was super fast and friendly. But here are the main points: the food was delicious and it is DIRT CHEAP. I got enough food for two meals (I eat a lot) for around $8. I'll be back, many times. read more

Excellent food. Inconsistent service. I much prefer the night crew. The 3pm drive-thru dude loves shoveling out the soy sauce packets even if you say "No soy sauce, thank you." Well. When we arrived they were out of almost everything. When we went to order we were expected to order what they had left NOT what we wanted. You would think when something is almost out, to replace it. However my son ordered whatever they had left. I waited to see if they would have what I wanted. Several people arrived to order and as they were forced to eat the remains of the bottom of the dish and over charged because the staff was trying to make three noodles last through 4 people. They need to take the drive out, every time it's 10 min plus wait and I make it a point to order food that's already cooked otherwise it's a 30 experience. We come here a lot and have never really had any big issues but tonight was HORRIBLE!!! I don't know what was up Chelsea Bs butt, she major had attitude. She couldn't hear, which is fine, ask us to speak up don't yell "I can't hear you." So my BF pretty much yelled out order. She wasn't listening or something and got our order mixed up, tried charging us for another entree instead if the three entree plate we wanted. Instead of saying sorry did you want two of the same or just one she yelled again that if we wanted an extra entree it cost more. Yes if we wanted an extra entree we understand that it costs more but you have to LISTEN to your customers not ignore us then be rude! I just want my correct order and none of their attitude. A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Waited in drive thru for 32 minutes!!! Once you are in the drive thru lane, there is no escape. When we ordered, we had to keep repeating the order three times. When we FINALLY got to the window, there was NO apology. We asked to speak to the manager, and she said, "We don't have a manager." I went with my 4 daughters to have dinner. The food was awesome and the place is neat and clean. The manager is a very nice guy and treated us with respect and care. Before coming to here I always thought the chain restaurants are all same but no different places have different feel and We enjoyed our time here. Customer service is really lacking at this location. Came in and waited at the front for nearly 10 minutes because the employees (all girls) were in the back just talking away at one another. Their food is sub-par at best. Luke warm, and often doesn't taste fresh. Sure the price is affordable, but I shouldn't have to risk my health with food that isn't fresh and hot.
